Probably the only thing that was missing that could make it slightly better would be a small cooktop. There was only a microwave in the room. But it was still a great room.

Reviewed Apr 20, 2026As soon as we arrived Rob came and met us and we had a nice chat. The wonderful accomodation and how comfortable and roomy it is. It has everything you need and an excellent view and you can easily walk along the waterfront to the Penguins Colony and also the historic area as well.
That we had to leave and continue on our journey.

Our stay was affected by severe weather warnings and he even helped to check the functions of our car, printed a copy for us to ensure the right mode for the recommended safe driving in strong windy condition was understood.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2025A superb quiet accommodation with beautiful seaview to sight after we woke up to the kitchen or bathroom! Didn't managed to have a face to face communication with the host; however, they are helpful and felt very warm during the communication about check in/out also information about the place. Very cozy warm place that feels like home during the stay as the host just staying upstairs maintaining the place so well like part of their home. The location is convenient and accessible to the shops just nearby by driving. Very short distance view the penguins! Definitely recommended!
A small rack in the shower room would be appreciated for our things to be brought in to use during shower would be great, instead of bending up and down as we can only put it on the floor. A small signage next to the key collection box would be recommended for guests to find their keys easier especially during the night for late check ins.

The place was so nice and warm (even though the outside temp was cold) and very spacious. Everything we needed was available and it was very thoughtful and considerate of the hosts to have special stands for our luggage. Very private & easy to find and the instruction was very clear. Lovely Hosts and we were lucky to meeting Rob and Pauline and he kindly came to show us around and it was very welcoming. We had a beautiful view from the kitchen window to the sea and amazing sunrise experience.

Reviewed Jul 13, 2025A beautiful sea view room and a very warm and welcoming host, Rob. We woke up to a stunning sunrise, and the Blue Penguin colony is just about 1 km away. Unfortunately, due to our own timing, we missed seeing the penguins. But if I ever come back to Oamaru, I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Reviewed May 26, 2025Great location overlooking the water in Oamaru. Walking distance to some nice restuarants, the Steam Punk museum and the seals and penguins. Our studio was well equipped and very comfortable. Would highly recommend
Not a dislike but the address is tricky, the road splits in 2 and that can be a little tricky to navigate off a map. If you are going, enter from the area near the wharf/brewery not the city side

Reviewed Apr 19, 2025We spent one night here in January 2025. After a day touring Dunedin, we arrived in Oamaru around 8.45PM and managed to find the accommodation easily. Parking space was designated in the driveway and self-check in was easy as clear instructions to locate the lockbox were provided beforehand via text. As the unit was on the ground level of a two-storey house, access was very convenient to load, transfer and unload luggage from the car. Rob, the host, was so friendly to pop his head to welcome us personally once we settled in. Hot water system worked well, and we appreciated the adjustable hand shower head and fluffy white towels. We had wonderful sea views from the kitchen window. The apartment also came with two luggage stands which were a nice touch.
Although in the height of summer, the apartment can get a little cold overnight. We did not bother to switch on the heater. One minor thing we realised was that the television only had live channels. Otherwise, the apartment was almost perfect.
