HITrental Zur Metzgern Apartments

I like the massive bedroom with comfortable mattress. They provided nice, clean, fresh scent sheets. There were plenty storage for your clothes and stuff. We stayed only for a night so we did not really cook but kitchen is equipped for all basic needs. The walk-in shower had fantastic water pressure and plenty of hot water, which was perfect after a long day of traveling. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, modern, and very comfortable to use during our stay. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Location is excellent. It is just a 4 minutes walk to the famous Chapel Bridge and 8 minutes to Lucerne train station. "I would love to stay here again next time I visit."

The pillows were clean and fresh but quite flat. The bedroom was hot however there were 3 elec fans in the apartment and that sorted it out. Windows were great too but we decided to open only one as the elec fan did the job to cool us down. We stayed on the 3rd floor- no elevator but it never bothered us.

This place was so clean! Right in the center of the city. Beautiful view of the clock. Host was helpful and super easy to work with We traveled with friends who stayed at a nearby place - for a little less - and it was a lot less of a space. Would highly recommend Hit. We were on the 3rd floor

It was very clean. Its location is very good. Close to msin attracgions and the train station. That was very convenient.

It was very hot at night. There is no AC, but I believe it is needed. There are fans in tbe room, but two of them are very noisy for some reason, may be too old. So using them meant we had to compromise our sleep. There is no human contact, it is self srevice, bit it is kind of cold. There are notices about keeping the apartment clean and the consequences thereof, such as fine of CHF 150 if trash is not disposed or dishes are not washed. That seemed a little extreme.

The location is perfect. We used the train a lot to go to the mountains and Zurich, and the station is only about a 10-minute walk away. The apartment is on the 3rd floor with no elevator, so there are some stairs to climb. However, the stairs are new, stable, and wide enough for two people. We really appreciated having two sets of keys since we were a group of five. The couch is very comfortable—even a tall person could sleep well on it—and the beds are even better. We loved the spacious rooms, and there were plenty of chairs and a large table for breakfast. We also really liked the Nespresso machine and used it every day. The apartment is nice and renovated, and we especially liked the bathroom. The host provided plenty of fans, likely because the weather was very hot before our arrival. We didn't need them since we were out during the day and the evenings were cooler, but it was a thoughtful touch. There was a festival with music on the square, but once you closed the windows, no noise came inside. Either way, the music stopped at 9 PM and the streets were quiet after that. The host sent clear instructions on how to register guests and pay the city tax before our stay. Check-in instructions were also crystal clear, so we didn't need to ask any questions.

Located in old town. Short walk to train station. Kitchen allowed us to cook homemade food instead of dining out.

No lift and the apartment (F) is on the 4th floor. It definitely got us exercised during the stay. Would not recommend for elderly or very young children. While washer is provided, the detergent is not (but can be purchased at coop).

Toilet was broken, old furniture, host was contacted about broken toilet and blamed it on past guest and didn’t get back after that.

In summer it is hot and the portable ACs are provided but don't have enough extension and outlets to start multiple of them . Also, it has kitchen but no salt , pepper were in kitchen and we had to go to coop late again after arriving.

Great location that was easily accessible by public transportation. Easy access to shops, restaurants and supermarket. Hosts were very responsive and facilities were very clean.

It was a bit warm that week but the fans definitely helped.

HOT AND LOUD

Location is in old town, so it is close to many places we wanted to go.

It has a lot of stairs getting to the building and up to the apartment. The kitchen and dining space is very small. Cooking would be difficult, so we didn’t bother.

We were on the fourth floor without a lift, which wasn't made clear, and should be in the main booking information. There was another family on the same floor with accessibility challenges who were also frustrated by this. There was no aircon and it was brutally hot, very difficult to relax, but we couldn't leave the windows open because we had our 3 year old and there was no safety screen. We also were unable to drop our bags off before 11am despite arriving about 8am, and when we did drop them off the person who met us was quite rude and seemed to feel put out by us. No doubt because she had to travel four flights of stairs to come and meet us!

Location was superb. We had a pleasant stay and were allowed to early check-in which was great.

We would have appreciated the facility to store our luggage during check out. It was dark near the dinning area as sufficient light was not there in that corner. Also, given the hot weather and the charges for the apartment, good quality fan or air colling unit should have been provided.

The location was convenient, microwave, fridge were a plus. The beds were nice.

No air conditioner. 2 puny fans. Constant alleyway noise from the bar downstairs. Constant cigarette smoke wafting inside. Or close the windows for stifling heat. Super expensive for what it was.

It was a spacious layout with fridge, microwave, and shower.

No air conditioning, 2 tiny fans, the windows opened to a noisy alley in back of a bar, so we heard beer bottles smashing, and smoked the effective equivalent of 2 packs of cigarettes-constant smoke blowing into our room. The alternative was to close the windows which was stifling. It was very expensive for what the room had.

We loved the location in the old part of town with easy walking access to shops and restaurants.

The apartment enjoys a prime location 👍. The surrounding area is lively, making shopping and sightseeing extremely convenient.

The flat was newly renovated so very clean and comfortable with all appliances.

There was no lift so had to carry all the big luggage 3 floors upstairs which we didn't had idea beforehand or missed if the details were shared.

Wonderful location, plenty of fans in the hot area, and the facilities in the apartment were very practical for us travelers. Ice trays, though a very small thing, were very helpful in the hot weather!

Great location in old town. Very easy self check in process. The unit was very large and comfortable for our family of 5. It was also very clean and quiet at night.

Lack of an elevator when staying on the 4th floor but we knew that the property didn’t have an elevator prior to booking.

The location is great, and it was spacious with comfortable beds. There is no AC, but they provided multiple fans which made it more comfortable during the heat wave.

Even though instructions on how to find the apartment were emailed to us, it was impossible to receive help from anyone in person if you had any questions. There is a bell you can ring to connect you to someone in the office, but the communication with multiple people we spoke to was not clear and no one showed up to help us.

room size was good, ample for a family of 4, 2 adults 1 teenager and 1 kid. Distance to train station isn't too far, it's situated in a nice area with shops, restaurants and fountains (crucial for hot summer days) nearby.

Our big room is on 4th floor, without a lift. A huge task for 3 large luggages. And no help from the staff as we checked out early (they start at 9:30am). And the pebble roads nearby makes pushing of luggages quite a challenge also - yet nice to look at and walk on :) The apartment had: 1) a stove but no oil or condiments of any kind, no paper towels; 2) a washing machine but no detergent. 3) an oven but not mitt/gloves So the "apartment" concept is really compromised - no cooking, no washing possible. and while the check in time was supposed to be 3pm, we didn't get in until after 3:30pm (around 4pm) At being on the top floor, was so hot in one of the nights that we were there (no AC). None of these are huge flaws (some are known) but future travellers should be aware.

Climbing 3 floors of stairs ain't no fun with full luggage. Wish there was an alternative way to bring up the luggage.

We had an amazing experience with Hitrental! The apartment was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was excellent, making it easy to explore the city and enjoy our stay. Check-in and check-out were simple.

Very clean, large number of cabinets, large and spacious sleeping room. Very near to Chapel bridge and station.

Very limited cutlery was provided. For hand wash in bathroom, nowadays it’s basic to provide handwash liquid but they don’t provide it. There is no elevator in the apartment. Even though the location is very close to chapel bridge and also very close to station, but car/taxi cannot reach the location as its on cobblestone pedestrian street. It becomes difficult to drag your luggage in cobblestone street and then climb up the stairs to the apartment with your luggage.

Toaster didn't work, when plugged, it caused the circuit breaker to go off. Also, we lived on the 3rd floor and without an elevator, had to carry the stroller for our 9-month-old up and down the stairs

There is no elevator. The property is charming and you enter through a medieval looking tunnel but keep in mind there is no elevator! There is a washer dryer duo located in the bathroom but it doesn’t dry thick clothes.

Zum Glück war schlechtes Wetter und eher kühl draußen, so konnte man frische Luft ins Zimmer bringen. In der Nacht muss man wegen Licht und Krach nämlich das Fenster zu halten

la biancheria , eravamo in 5 uno sapevamo che uno doveva dormire sul divano in salotto, ma la biancheria non dava la sensazione di pulizia e i piumini erano sporchi ,addirittura uno aveva piccoli segni di sangue, solo un cuscino a testa , sarebbe meglio mettere qualcuno in piu a disposizione ,non tutti dormono con un cuscino, abitazione meglio da offrire per 4 persone e non per 5

Fantastic location and very clean amenities. Staff was great and helpful! We had gotten there early and they allowed us to store our luggage until the apartment was ready for us.

Alley way noise sometimes, lack of temp control for air conditioning

Near to Luzern railway station at around 10 min walk. Clean, spacious and comfortable. With full kitchen and also a washing machine.

Who would believe that you can stay in central Lucerne, in such a comfortable apartment, so (relatively) inexpensively? We loved it, enjoying once again the fairyland experience of Lucerne (in spite of the abundance of tourists there). (And we add: The reason we wanted to revisit Lucerne, aside from its magnificent core, was to revisit the Swiss Transportation Museum complex just outside of town. We spent a splendid day there.)

It was a bit of a challenge to find this place. Many thanks to a certain map we located (or was sent to us) that nailed it. Luckily, traveling on a moto, we found parking two easy blocks away. If you are traveling by car, be prepared for a challenge. Public transportation appeared to be abundant.

O suporte para entrarmos na acomodação, a assessoria durante a nossa estada e a possibilidade de deixarmos as nossas malas antes do horário de check-in. A acomodação tinha um quarto/sala grande com quatro camas confortáveis e um sofá. A cozinha era equipada para o nosso café da manhã. O banheiro tinha um chuveiro bom e uma máquina de lavar à disposição. A bancada do banheiro era grande. A hospedagem está localizada em local muito bom que nos atendeu nas nossas necessidades com bons restaurantes nas proximidades.

O apartamento que utilizamos ficava no segundo andar e não tinha elevador. Ficou um pouco difícil subir com malas grandes mas o custo-benefício compensa este ponto.

Check in einfach und bequem. Sehr sicher die Anlage. Man kann nur mit Code in das Gebäude rein. Super Lage, mitten in der Alstadt. Direkt am Wasser. Zimmer sauber, Handtücher, Haartrockner vorhanden. Bügeleisen, Bügelbrett etc. Küche perfekt ausgestattet.

Kein Fenster in der Küche, daher kein Tageslicht.

Beautiful location, right in the center of town. Can be a little tricky finding, just closely follow the directions. Parking is expensive between 30 to 40 Swiss Francs per day. Plenty of restaurants and shopping including a grocery store close by.

Our unit was a 4 level climb so it’s kinda a workout every time we get in and out. But manageable even with two young kids. Hair dryer wasn’t working well (wind but not heated) and not shampoo provided.

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts. Ideal zum shoppen und/oder sightseeing. Wir waren zu fünft und hatten genügend Platz in diesem grosszügigen Appartement. Wir haben es sehr genossen und kommen wieder

Complicated self check in. They only send you the codes after you pay the city taxes in the site and fill out everything. They don't answer on WhatsApp. There is no parking around. It took us over an hour to overcome all the obstacles to enter the room.
