Attention to the small details was impressive, fresh smelling sheets, soft towel sets, full kitchen facilities, the air freshners that made the studio smell devine. The cleanliness was superb! Host Terrianne was wonderful to communicate with, from easy access to the key lock box instruction. Upon my arrival I sent a message that I made it and a lovely response that the host was a couple hours away and would personally greet me. Very accommodating that a group of my friends meet up at the accomodation, though it was short lived I'm certain we were loud! Seamless checkout, which I suspect allowed for one of the latest checkouts Ive ever seen on the specs of an accommodation, though I had plans and left early a sleep in could have been an ideal option. The space allowed for possibly 3-4 people but was perfect for two besties enjoying a night out in local Ruakaka.
Seasonal issue and nothing to do with the accommodation, maybe a lot of house flies was a nuisance

Reviewed Mar 1, 2026We were travelling with two kids, and the property was ideal for a small family. It had enough space for the kids to play and sleep. You can cook and eat comfortably in the kitchen area. The whole property was clean and tidy and had a beautiful garden view. It felt like home away from home. The Ruakaka beach was a very short drive from the property (under 5 mins). The Waipu caves and Waipu Cove are a short drive from this property as well. The host was very welcoming :)!

Reviewed Jan 27, 2026Sehr ruhige Lage, aber nah am Strand - 3 Min Autoweg. Gutes Bett, viel Platz, zusätzliche Handtücher für den Strand vorhanden. Terrasse + großer Garten können genutzt werden. Englischer Waschbecken (2 Wasserhähne nebeneinander) ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber eigentlich OK. Alles in allem sehr entspannt.
Einige Küchenutensilien (Töpfe, Schalen) waren von den vorherigen Gästen wohl nicht sauber

Clean tidy and private space,, large area inside but would have preferred a light curtain put up between lounge and bedroom space as a family with a little 1 it was harder for her to settle to sleep until we went to bed too.
Got a bit disappointed as we could spot a trampoline in the pictures,perfect for out energetic 5y old, but after arriving we told it was not longer working due to age and safety concerns but otherwise plenty of room and space

Reviewed Aug 15, 2025I had a fantastic stay at Ridge Haven in Ruakaka. The location was excellent—perfect for relaxing, with easy access to coastal walks and scenic views. It’s just a short drive or bike ride to the main beach, and the flat terrain makes cycling a breeze. The unit itself was immaculately clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower had great pressure, which is always a plus. I especially enjoyed the peaceful garden setting, with tranquil views stretching out toward the coast. I met the host the next day and found them to be warm, welcoming, and lovely to chat with—a real highlight of the stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in a quiet, scenic spot with all the comforts of home.
Overall, Ridge Haven is a wonderful place to relax, and I’d happily return. It’s well suited for couples or solo travelers looking for a peaceful, scenic escape with all the essentials. The only real issue I had was the sofa which was not very comfortable and maybe that could be updated but other than that it was an all round pleasurable experience.

Didn't know till we got there that the TV reception was not good. supposedly because of being affected by rain shadow although there didn't appear to be any rain nearby at the time. Couldn't find a heater, but it wasn't too cold so we got by, however if it was a bit colder one would have been good to have.

Reviewed Mar 2, 2025We were pleasantly surprised at the overall appearance and the size, layout of the 2-story house, section and then the generous layout of the studio unit downstairs unit. Outdoors appearance was well manicured, lawns mowed etc. The stay was 'accidental' in that we often stay in Whangarei when passing through to Hamilton as a halfway stop or Hospital appointments. This particular occasion there was a weeklong Hockey tournament on and forced me to search for alternative accommodation for a Hospital appointment.
