The reception lady called Lebo she is very rude nd doesnt even knw hw to aolve prblms without giving u attitude. Bt besides the stay was very nice

I had to cancel this booking, because there were no Blankets, no Aircon or Heater, as it was cold. There was no Ironing Board and no Iron, as I had to iron some few items.

On a winter night, there was ONE blanket in the 2-bed apartment (with 2 beds) we booked. One bed at least had an electric blanket (thank goodness!) The gent on duty, after giving me excuses about how he couldn't get us another blanket, eventually (seemingly reluctant and annoyed that I'd insisted) arranged one, which turned out to be dirty/smelly. Totally repulsive and disgusting. Needless tobsay we did not use it. We were provided with ONE hand towel, which we also couldn't use because it was not 100% clean either. Kitchen also not as clean as on previous occasions we stayed there. Curtains in the bedrooms had a bunch of hooks missing and therefore inadequately closing up. I was so disappointed with our experience this time. Stay Ulo Atholl Gate has always been our accommodation of choice whenever we're in Jhb, but this has completely soured my desire to ever book there again. Clearly, attention to necessary detail is now lacking and the establishment is possibly taking guests for granted? I can't understand why else they'd drop their standards like this. Really really sad.

Stayed 1 hour without electricity the owner bought it after I called countless times that we are out of power,,,following day we where out of water we could use bathroom and shower until we had to wait for the owner to buy water,,,the bad is loud it is in the bad condition,,braai stand was dirty and the place did not have carpet o. The living room and outside sitting area chair broken and living room class cracked and the whole house hold had to share one toilet paper,.. No shower gel and the shower drain was blocked

The prepaid electricity went off in the middle of the night and there was no extra toilet paper or towels

It was not clean at all! When I opened the dishwasher machine there were old unwashed dishes made the room smell bad. There was left over KFC in the wardrobe. The bathroom had a dirty towel. The towel was like an old skoplap. It was a bit cold I would suggest they install an aircon for those cold day considering their blankets are also dirty and smelly🤢

A cama do UNIT 25, faz muito barulho precisa de ser substituida. Falta de utencilios de cozinha no check in. Acredito que a casa de banho precisa de uma pequena remodelação ou limpeza profunda, começa a aparecer bolor no tecto da WC. O apartamento não tem aquecedor e nem ar condicionado

It’s the second time we didn’t have towels and coffee and sugar and electrical blanket that’s always there in our room

I like how friendly the staff was... the ladies were so friendly. Upon arrival I was struggling to find the reception but one of the ladies helped me. The area is safe, nothing sketchy and its in a convenient area. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean. Theres good lighting for getting ready for concerts, weddings, and any other dress-up events. The outside area is very neat and clean. Safe space for children and women to be in.

The braai area was dirty, so were the table and chairs. The towels were too small and there was only 1 towel available in the main bathroom. For a tall person the shower was a bit inconvenient as my brother was ducking and dodging the shower head.

Property is well overdue a makeover. The bed is old and creaky. The inners are dirty and old. The couch is old and creaky. Pillows are all flat. The apartment was dirty. Coffee mug stains on the tables. It was not good value for money.

We had to request basic things like plates, cutlery, bath mats and towels. The towels they did bring were old and hard and shouldn’t be used for guests.

My stay here has always been bee pleasant

The rooms were exceptionally spacious, clean, and well maintained, making for a very comfortable stay. The housekeeping staff and security personnel were friendly, professional, and always willing to assist whenever needed. The hotel's central location was a major advantage, providing convenient access to the town, shops and other nearby amenities. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and appreciated the excellent service and convenient location, but addressing these issues would greatly enhance the guest experience.

There were, however, a few areas that could be improved. The Wi-Fi connection was slow and frequently disconnected, which made it difficult to stay connected. Additionally, there was no access to Netflix or other streaming services. On Saturday, the hotel experienced a power outage, and unfortunately, there was no backup generator available, which affected the overall experience.

It was quiet and clean plus the staff were helpful. Additionally, it’s centrally located.

The bed squeaked when you moved, but other than that, everything was great.

We didn’t have electricity for the entire day and our host could not even provide us with solutions so we just stayed in the dark

Os colchões e camas precisam ser renovados, as camas fazem muito barulho ao mover se, precisam de melhorar a higiene, das 3 noites que fiquei apenas houve limpeza em 1 dia apos reclamar da falta de limpeza, a limpeza feita nesse dia não foi boa, não esvaziaram o lixo, nem nada, toalhas, lençois e mantas estão gastos precisam ser renovados.

The location and easy check in , security at the gate were very friendly . Good WiFi

The biggest issue was the shower , the water barely ran hot and the shower drain was dirty and the water wouldn’t drain properly , there wasn’t even a mop that we could use to clean up the water on the floor . A proper bath mat is also needed . A dishcloth in the kitchen to assist with keeping the place clean would’ve been beneficial

I had to waot for almost 3 hours for the team to load power and then they tell me they struggling and they cant I was in darkness for less then an hour and then they moved me to another unit where there was no cutlery or crockery (very bad services )

Unit 42. Was not clean, dirty smelly blankets, no proper maintenance, shower door not closing, blocked shower drain, some lights not working, workers don’t properly clean the place, microwave is kinda scary with yellow stains everywhere, patio not cleaned still had oil from the BBQ/braai stand on the floor. Was just the worse experience.

The floors where sticky, there was no toilet paper provided , no towels given ,when requested towels I was told they don’t have at the moment and had to go in the morning to request again , the main door could not open and close properly, the shower doors did not close properly and water went all over the floors , no amenities where lacking , no milk no tea bags besides rooibos

We got to our room and it was already occupied so we had to take another room , which obviously was not cleaned properly. The fridge in the new room was also switched off and it smelled terribly

Insufficient cutlery. Only 2 towels for 4 people - no change in 2 nights. No water on the first night, we had to buy water to cook. After complaining, they brought a 15l bucket of water.
