Delightful & Quirky - great cosy place .
Nothing
Quaint, characterful and interesting setting in an old shop. Lovely location.
A tad cramped. No option other than a heavy duvet in the (admittedly atypical) hot weather.
Fantastic location. A few steps away from local bars. Great pubs in the village. Brill atmosphere people were so lovely too. Village is beautiful, beach castle marina are some things to see. It was a lovely break in a lovely village.
I could not fault the accomodation at all. My only downfall is i wished i had booked 2 nights
Liked everything about the place just an amazing place to stay and host's couldn't have been more helpful.
Nothing.
It was 130 years old with a lot of character.
A musty smell which sometimes is typical of older buildings
A lovely quirky stay in a gorgeous location. Perfect setting for a perfect chill

Quaint & quirky. Warm & comfortable.
It was all good.
quirky great location
Bathroom door rubbing on the floor. I am being so picky for such a lovely place
Quirky cute little space, such kind and friendly owners

Perfect for a couple. Enclosed area out front was ideal for our two small dogs. Beautiful area and perfect location within the village which has a lovely restaurant and a few pubs. Great view of the water and pier from the front door!
Locatie, heel leuk dorpje met geweldig restaurant. Prachtig huisje, met zorg en smaak ingericht.
Bed wat aan de krappe kant.
Lovely cosy apartment, perfect stay in the lovely village of Carraigaholt, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, great character.
Aussergewöhnliche alte irische Ambiente - Eindruck wie man in Irland vor 100 Jahren gelebt hat. Klein aber fein und sehr sauber und mit Liebe eingerichtet 😀
Beautiful location, lovely property, shower amazing. We had scones that were delicious. TV was great absolutely loved our stay and going back
Nothing
A very charming, clean & cosy property.
The novelty of the room and the location. Great value for money.
The property was quirky and the location worked. It was quiet. The hosts were very helpful and friendly prior to arrival
The bed was quite firm and could use fluffy pillows. There could be more lighting in the room and mirrors (even the bathroom mirror is hung too high) maybe putting a rug down would be nice as it was chilly
Great location in the centre of the village, with friendly owners, and suitable for people with a dog.
Gorgeous cute property on lovely waterfront owned by lovely local couple. Great facilities with genius design and decor
Nothing
Really cute and cozy. We had a great evening and night. The area is really lovely and quiet. Thank you for everything.
Beautiful setting in an old shop, very quaint, right in the centre of the village
Location! Everything we needed in a well thought out space. Hosts were local and came to our aid re a key issue, very quickly- much appreciated.
We were travelling for 3 weeks and used the opportunity to do a big wash. (Fab there being a washing machine) Although there was a small wall airer, a larger, folding airer would have been great. Only a small niggle and we managed.
It was so well equipped for a small property and decorated with real character. Spotlessly clean too. Location was also perfect.
Perfect location for exploring the beautiful West Clare peninsula
Could do with more delf & cutlery
Our hosts James and Lucy were extremely friendly and welcoming. They really have thought of everything here. The "barn" was spotlessly clean, very tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and furnished Equipped with everything and more. Absolute stunning location right beside the sea overlooking Carrigaholt castle. My very first 10 out of 10 experience.
The fact that I had to come home I could easily live there.
Beautiful location, super dog friendly, amazing host and has all the facilities you would need for a short trip. You can see that the owners put in a lot of love in all the small detail inside and outside the barn.
Beautiful barn with stunning view. Very dog friendly with enclosed garden. Lovely, friendly hosts. Perfect location for exploring Clare. Couldn’t fault the place!
The place is adorable. It is small, but it is well designed and has everything you need. James and Lucy are great hosts, full of information, and we found out what a small world it is! We ate dinner (need to book) and breakfast at The Long Dock. Both meals were delicious. There are three lively pubs in Carrigaholt. Visit Loop Head lighthouse, Bridges of Ross, and Kilbaha. All the people along the way made our trip a joy.
Very cute small but everything there.
All good. Special place. Great communication from host.
The apartment was small but spotless. Fair play to James and Lucy. It must have been a bar or some type of shop at one stage but now it is a lovely cosy bedsit type apartment. Very quaint. Wonderful location. Loads to see and do in that area. Shannon estuary right at the doorstep Was surprised that the village doesn't have a shop but the local pub, although reasonably expensive serves some of the best fish and seafood dishes I have tasted anywhere. 2 places worth visiting are loop head and kilkee. Wonderful cliff walks and spectacular views in both locations .also helped that the weather was cold but sunny and dry. Cannot fault Lucy and James and the way they have put loads of love and care into renovating an old building and keeping a wonderful piece of history and enabling others to experience it. Will defo return and have no qualms in recommending it to others that might want to visit that part of clare County.

Everything you’d need in great location with free parking

Perfect location in Carrigaholt. We stayed one night. Comfortable bed. Clean and warm. James excellent in getting back to me. Really perfect for our stay. It is small and compact. Tea and coffee making facilities. Hairdryer. Toiletries in bathroom. Rainforest shower.
Nothing.
great location old days vibe clean
Would have liked cereal bowls, spoons and a coffee machine.
Great location - close to harbour, bars and restaurants. The owners were really friendly and helpful.
The music from the shop across the road is a bit annoying during business hours
Great little space, just perfect for me and my dog. Beautiful view from the front door. Has everything one would need.
The Blake at Carrigaholt was spotlessly clean, cozy and charming. The bed was very comfortable. Location was great as a base for the Loop Head drive - lighthouse, cliffs, Ross Bridge, ancestral townland/cemeteries; feet from the water - could hear the waves at night; short walk to the Carrigaholt Castle. Had one of our best dinners in the 3 weeks we travelled in Ireland at The Long Dock Restaurant - 1 minute walk away. A much appreciated small touch was the opera/show tune music drifting out from the small Post Office across the street. James the host was an excellent communicator.
Thoughtful things like hair dryer, milk in the fridge, instant coffee, tea, sugar for morning. Maps. Quick response time to messages.
Fabulous tiny cottage with everything provided. Gas stove, plenty of hot water, comfortable bed, large armchairs. Netflix. Outside seating area facing the sea
Nothing.
Amazing little self contained accommodation 50 metres from the sea, pubs..
Glad there was just me - it is small
Cute little town, nice people! Very small town.
Tv, would like it to be smart TV so could use the Aps
A quirky small apartment in a brilliant village, on the edge of the Shannon estuary. The nearby Long Dock restaurant is outstanding (must book) and I saw Dolphins near the harbour (the one by the castle). The hosts are friendly and helpful with lovely dogs.
A few more basics for breakfast would have been helpful - toaster, bread, marmalade etc. We even had to ask for bowls/spoons for cereal (which we brought). Just a bit too basic....

Beautiful location with four bars and great food. The place had everything you needed and very clean. Great hosts too

The town and the small apartment seem to be a good setting for a movie. We enjoyed our stay. James, our host, very friendly too.
Excellent location short walking distance to 2 pubs and a restaurant, secure garden for the dog. Very well equipped amenities. James and Lucy , the owners were on hand and super friendly.

Very good location in village . Nice and quiet . Unique space . Lucy and James were super hosts .
Great setup, excellent communication from the host, would definitely stay again
Very bougee, a small space with real character and a great vibe. Close to a great bar with lovely food, a 20 minute walk to a nearby castle with stunning views.
The bed was quite uncomfortable, so not great if you’re prone to a sore back.
It has it all, the outlook is amazing and tranquil. Our host were friendly and helpful. A great base to explore all the surrounding areas. Will definitely return
The apt and location were both class
Nothing not to like.
Carrigaholt is a lovely little village, the people are so friendly and welcoming, it felt like old Ireland. It's the perfect base for exploring kilkee and the surrounding areas.
Wonderful owner, peaceful location and unique place to stay. Love the snug in the window
The location was wonderful. The accommodation was very cosy and charming. Parking was very accessible. The property felt very safe and was very peaceful.
The space was a little tight for 2 people, but as only for 1 night was fine.
Quirky accommodation that is really well presented and has everything you would need.
It's quite remote which can be a good thing but limits food options nearby if staying for more than 1 night so need to drive.
Beautiful little quirky room James and Lucy hosts could nt do enough for you
Nothing
Charming little place in heart of village with its own story.super location..Good chipper close by..Great pubs.friendly hostess..perfect place for short stay and very convenient for Loop Head and Kilkee...
No complaints!
Quirky, had every convenience and some really nice touches. Welcoming and comfortable
Lovely relaxing stay. Wonderful location
Cosy, comfortable and close to all village amenities
The location is just amazing. The accommodation is quirky, functional, and immaculately clean. Owners helpful and friendly.
Excellent base to enjoy the charms of a remote village on the picturesque Loop Head peninsula.
Great, quirky accommodation in a brilliant location. Our host Lucy was very welcoming and helpful. I can definitely recommend, wish we'd booked another night here.
Beautifully decorated, so homely. Location amazing
The accommodation was cosy and tastefully decorated and we really enjoyed our stay there. James and Lucy are really nice and very welcoming hosts. Communication both before and during our stay was top class. The location was excellent and very close to the Long Dock Restaurant which serves superb seafood.
I loved everything at Blakes. The comfy bed, the USB charging possibilities, the tea corner, the amazing shower and the decorations. As someone else said, the perfect balance between modern amenities and history. There is a fantastic restaurant 1 minute walking distance away; a pub with fantastic Guiness and a coffee place. and let’s not forget the post office and the classical music they are playing. It is also a great starting point for discovering everything that Loop Head has to offer. I felt like coming home as soon as I crossed the border to the village. But the difference to all other great locations, are Lucy and James, the owners. They are incredibly thoughtful, going the extra mile and absolutely lovely people. If I am in the area, this is definitely the place I will stay again. I highly recommend.

Lovely quirky accommodation in an excellent location just a few metres from the harbour. Great welcome and advice on places to visit and eat from hosts Lucy and James. A great location to visit Loop Head and all the other local attractions in a most beautiful part of Clare.
