We loved the location, the lovely homely feel and so clean and welcoming.

Everything! There were so many lovely surprises and even though we did not interact with our hosts in person, their efforts made us feel really welcome

No complaints other than there was construction next door.

The accommodation was in a good location close to the main centre. Everything that you could think of was provided. Very clean and well presented. Lovely personal touches including complimentary beverages, chocolates and a personalized hand written card. Quiet, warm and private in a lovely garden setting. Lovely host that went the extra mile.

We arrived in the middle of a storm, what an oasis of peace and beauty. We loved being just a short stroll to Oneroa and had the best sleeps in our super comfortable bed.

The studio apartment was bright and spacious, with a king size bed, 2 lounge chairs, a small kitchen table & chairs, as well as two chairs on the deck overlooking the amazing garden. Everything was in excellent condition and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and an outdoor barbecue on the deck. Everything you needed was provided (toiletries, beach towels, umbrellas and more--complimentary snacks and drinks). There was also guest laundry and luggage storage available. The location was a short walk into town and the beach, not far from the ferry. The hosts were so welcoming and replied promptly to any requests. We wished we had booked for a longer stay.

Everything provided and super clean light and bright . All guests needs thought about and provided plus hosts willing to help with any requests , they even gave us a lift back to the ferry point.

The location was perfect. Walking distance to Oneroa village and a bus stop for buses to other parts of the island and the community cinema, art gallery library and a variety of takeaways. The hosts had thought of everything we might need and more. The system of contacting them with any problems was easy and efficient. The bed was long - good for my tall husband. The studio looked out to a beautiful garden you could walk in.

We could have done with more towel rails but there was no room for them and this is the case with most accommodation of this size - goes with the territory. A dish rack for washing up would have been good but again no room for it and we managed fine without it. Both minor and really not a problem.

It was clean, comfortable, and well located. It had everything we needed for cooking. The host was incredibly accommodating and we loved our time there!

Great Location, Has everything you need.

Getting the key was super easy, as the host texted us the code the key lock box. The room was impeccable; the bed was very comfortable and large. The host left complimentary drinks and snacks for us to enjoy, which was lovely. The garden was beautiful and luscious. It was walking distance to Oneroa Village.

The most beautifully presented, designed and well appointed roomy unit in a fabulous location. Josie & Wayne were friendly & approachable. The gardens were exceptional and our balcony overlooked them so it was amazing inside and out. The little extra complimentary treats were the icing on the cake for an excellent stay. Would stay here again and highly recommend it in a heartbeat. The quality of all the sheets, towels and kitchen appliances were top tier too. Absolutely Loved our stay in this beautiful unit!!

The only negative was having to carry our suitcases in and out over the pebbles to access our unit at the rear of the property and not being able to use our rollers on our suitcases. Very small issue easily overlooked by this perfect accommodation

We loved this cottage. Clean and so well equipped. Literally everything you needed in there. Fantastic location close to the little town and about a 6 min walk from the bus stop which is super handy when you arrive. Our host was lovely and the gardens are just absolutely stunning. Would stay here again and were very happy with our stay.

Our stay in the beautifully appointed, modern self-contained apartment was nothing short of spectacular. Overlooking a meticulously maintained garden, the unit offers a tranquil and stylish haven. But what truly made our experience exceptional was Josie, our wonderful host. She welcomed us with a thoughtful collection of complimentary wine, beer, and snacks, making us feel truly at home. Her top recommended dining spots proved to be just as delightful. We wholeheartedly recommend The Secret Garden to anyone eager to immerse themselves in the beauty and charm of Waiheke Island. It makes the island a great experience!

There are 2 apartments behind the main house where the owners are living. Our apartment had a nice outlook on to the garden, and it was relaxing sitting on the private patio, which even had a BBQ. The kitchenette is very well stocked, and we appreciated the treats left for us to enjoy. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was spacious and the water hot.

We wouldn’t recommend the 25 min walk from the ferry up Ocean View Road. We took the bus to the first stop - Oneroa Library - and from there it is a relatively flat walk to Mako Street. This took us no more than 10 min. From this stop you can also catch the bus to Onetsngi and the wineries on route. So this is not a criticism at all. :)

Und zwar in jeglicher Hinsicht, denn die liebenswerten Besitzer haben alles mit grösster Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet: Küchenausstattung top (Salz- & Pfeffermühle, Bio-Spülmittel, Aussengrill von Weber, u.v.m.), Bad sehr hochwertig (top modern, genügend Handtücher, edle Produkte, Insektenschutzgitter, …), Apartment mit vielen Details (Taschenlampe für Notfälle, gratis Wasserflaschen neben dem Bett, Insektenschutzgitter, Markise auf der Terrasse, Grill, der zum Apartment gehört, wunderschöne Gartenanlage, u.v.m.). Dazu sind die Vermieter noch sehr zuvorkommend, grosszügig und flexibel. Geschäfte, Restaurants und Strand in problemloser Gehdistanz. Diese Unterkunft würde ich jederzeit wieder buchen.

Nichts - die Unterkunft hat 12 von 10 möglichen Punkten verdient! Ich habe nichts gefunden, was es zu kritisieren gegeben hätte. Es gibt keinen Geschirrspüler.

Excellent spot! Didn't lack for anything, cleaner than many hotels I've been to and so well stocked with everything we needed and more. Probably the only spot I'd want to stay at when I'm in Waiheke.

This place is amazing! It has everything you need for a getaway. The paua studio is set up with everything you need from toiletries to beach towels and a picnic blanket. Josie our host was great to deal with and we really appreciated the complimentary snacks, drink and late checkout. We would definitely stay here again!

Hosts Josie and Wayne could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended. Waiheke Island was a perfect place to spend a few days getting used to a new time zone. We loved everything about this place - location, facilities, hosts, furnishings, etc. The extras - air fryer and BBQ - mean it is even more of a home from home. Also, complementary toiletries, beach towels and picnic blanket are all very welcome. We enjoyed mornings just relaxing here on the balcony before heading out. And it’s only 10 minutes from the ferry. Highly recommended.

Great location, walking distance to Oneroa & very close to Mudbrick. Very quiet. Completely private from owner’s house & no shared walls with the other apartment so very quiet. Very comfy superking bed. All immaculately clean. Lots of natural light. Garden lovely & sunny private balcony with retractable awning. Generous supply of good quality towels (much better than in most hotels). Large well equipped room & generous size bathroom. Generously supplied with toiletries, tea, coffee, milk & even a complimentary bottle of milk, beer & small bottle of wine. Was good to be able to use the guest washing machine. As others have said, looks much nicer than photos suggest. Easy guest parking. Highly recommend.

The property was very clean and it had so many kitchen appliances and towels to use daily. I was very surprised. The location is only 15 minute walk from ferry terminal and 14 minute walk from the first vinyards.

Josie was so helpful with clear messages prior to my arrival as to how to get into my room. On arrival I found the most enchanting secret garden that I have ever seen. My room was so bright and fresh and large! Of special mention were the little treats, nibbles left for me. My host Josie even went above and beyond by taking me to a wedding venue the next day as it was raining! I cant recommend The Secret Garden Apartments enough !

Perfect locations, the owners left us a little care package with some drinks and nibbles and allowed us to leave our bags on the last day while we went out to explore the island. Was perfect!
