The Terminus

The space had a wonderful, fresh scent that instantly made it feel welcoming, which is rare. The apartment is modern and loft-like, and we love it instantly. It was also impeccably clean and spacious, and we love that it's thoughtfully outfitted with everything you need.

We had a great stay at The Terminus in Dunedin, staying in a Deluxe Apartment. The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need. Having a fully equipped kitchen made cooking and eating in an absolute breeze. The location was fantastic. It was an easy walk to the Octagon and several local breweries, with a café downstairs and a pub just around the corner. The elevator was also a huge bonus for getting all our luggage up and down. There were lots of thoughtful touches that we really appreciated, including the blackout curtains in the bedroom, heated towel rail and heater in the bathroom. For light sleepers, there can also be some traffic noise. However, given this is a beautifully renovated older-style building, I’m not sure there’s much that could be done about this. It is also mentioned in the welcome letter, and earplugs are provided. Neither issue would stop us from staying here again. Parking is available across the road for $11 per day Monday–Saturday. We found it easy enough to get a park later in the afternoon (around 3pm onwards), and parking was also readily available on weekends. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. A comfortable, spacious apartment in a great location with everything you need for a stay in Dunedin. We would definitely stay here again!

Everything! The apartment has a very cool vibe. It was so well appointed including a number of unexpected surprises like breakfast, lollies and popcorn! The beds were incredibly comfortable and we were nice and cosy. Such a great location, we could walk everywhere. Jo was so responsive with her communication. We would definitely stay here again.

We can't believe the quality and detail in the renovations! It's a huge building and would have taken a lot of thought and work. Double Glazing on the windows kept the traffic noise down, large living area meant we could have visitors, full kitchen meant nothing was impeded. Plenty of electric plugs for our many necessities and the right amount of bedding on the comfy bed ensured a good sleep. Amazing to see a big TV in the bedroom as well as the lounge! No expense spared. Excellent situation in Central Dunedin.

We did have a problem with the lift - didn't see the notice on the floor advising us not to stand too near and thought we were stuck in the lift many times till we solved the problem.

The apartment was extremely comfortable, with a separate bedroom, a well-stocked kitchen (we really appreciated the bread, butter and jam selections, plus the small bottle of milk, and tea selections) and also included a washing machine and dryer. It was located centrally and felt safe, while also being easy to access. We really appreciated the contact from the hosts who responded quickly to any messages. I would stay here again.

Fabulous accommodations. Wonderful location. Cool, old building was easy to find and neighborhood feels very safe. Walking distance to museums, train station, city center, lots of great restaurants, bars. Superb bakery (Tart Tin) in lower floor of the building to make a quick start of the day. The apartment itself had everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. Great kitchen. Very spacious rooms, with high ceilings and a modern décor. Warm and cozy with the exposed brick and lots of wood furnishings, tasteful decoration. Beautiful windows and light. Comfortable bed, too. Surprisingly quiet for a corner building. Looked out over a lovely park and Chinese gardens across the street where folks were doing tai chi on the weekend mornings. Washer/dryer was wonderful addition. Felt like borrowing a friend’s apartment. We worried about finding parking but it was pretty simple. There was ample street parking available (metered) all around the block, and just across the street along the park, free at night. Loved our stay at The Terminus! Highly recommended.

The bed wasn’t to my liking, it was a little too soft and you sink into the mattress. It is a noisy location, however once we closed the bedroom door at night it was much quieter.

The apartment had a really nice vibe. I thought it might be a bit cold as its a refurbished historical building, but it was really warm and cosy. I was also worried about it being noisy as its located on the main State Highway but the double glazing blocked out the noise really well. Great central location too.

Only one small thing, the cleaner had missed picking up a half-full bottle of drink off the floor and we knocked it over as we didn't see if there

Perfect location for walking or driving. Excellent food options nearby and just a 10 minute drive to virtually anywhere in Dunedin, such as Stkilda beach. Bed was very comfortable. Would book again for sure.

This apartment is very cool! It felt like we were in the centre of NYC but with easy accessibility to Dunedin. The hosts provided breakfast, coffee pods, washing powder etc which was greatly appreciated!

Sehr netter Familienbetrieb. Das Apartment war sauber und geräumig. Für 2 Erwachsene und Baby war es genau richtig. Die Ausstattung war auch sehr gut. Die Lage ist super, man kann recht viel zu Fuß erkunden oder auch mit dem Auto Richtung Banks Peninsula/Tunnel Beach. Es gibt gebührenpflichtige Parkplätze vor der Tür (Preise aber fair und ab 6pm bis 9am sogar kostenlos). Ganz leicht hellhöhrig in Bezug auf den Highway, aber kaum der Rede der Wert.

Beautiful property in a central location (within walking distance to downtown and the train station, as well as easy drive out to blue penguin/albatross center). Roomy and confortable for 3 people. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - it had everything we needed and the elevator made it easy to get our bags upstairs.

Had to pay for street parking but only between 9am-5pm and it was only $1 NZD per hour (easily used a credit card at the machine) with plenty of open spots near the property, so it was easy to cover for the few hours we needed it.

The spacious apartment was gorgeous with the windows, the brick and stainless steel. They set us up with a starter milk, nespresso pods and tea which was appreciated. A comfortable living room and full kitchen enabled us to spread out. The location was great and could walk everywhere. An elevator helped with luggage and this place was a great value. All the email exchanges with the staff were responsive, thorough and helpful. The entry guidelines very clear. Will remember we our stay here.

Suggestion: put a hook on the backside of the bathroom door. FYI - the plugs for us to put an adapter for our devices was not a possibility for the bedroom (fine), but one in the living room was under a desk and our USB cords could not reach over the top. The other was low without a table near by - a chair, but cords slipped when not in use. We ended up clearing the kitchen appliances on one side and removing cords/devices when wanted to use the appliance.

Located in a quieter area of the city, but still close to the lower downtown core. The restaurant and bakery on street level are well worth the visit. You will have to book ahead for the restaurant as it is one of the top restaurants in the city.

Cool vibes in a great location! Clean, modern and secure apt. Great natural light with a small, beautiful park across the street. Washer & dryer onsite. Nespresso coffee maker, milk in the fridge, and task lighting!! Excellent gourmet restaurant and a coffee shop on the main floor of the building. Despite the busy main streets around the property, we found the apt quiet and very comfortable for a good night’s sleep.
