Reviewed Aug 12, 2026We were welcomed to this centrally located farm, by a curious ostrich who was fenced in with a magnificent view of a mountain behind her. A friendly staff member in a pretty apron greeted us, setting the scene for a homely environment. And, so it was, beautiful decor, aloe and lavendar-laced gardens, gorgeous fireplaces, lots of creativity to look at as well as a hearty breakfast. An informative, behind-the-scenes chat with the owner's daughter closed off our two-day stay, perfectly
I would recommend keeping hedges pruned low so that visitors can have clear views of the mountains from the double luxury rooms as well as the honeymoon suite

Im Winter ist es kaum möglich das Zimmer zu heizen und viel zu kalt. Zum schlafen gibt es Heizdecken im Bett, was die Übernachtung komfortabler macht.

Reviewed Jun 21, 2026This was an incredible stay in a beautiful location. The welcome on arrival was great and the staff couldn’t do enough to help you. The cottage we stayed in was beautiful. We did the meerkat experience with Ras, which was fun and felt like a proper adventure, but the highlight of the tour was the Ostrich Farm tour, which was made all the more special thanks to Hermes who was our wonderful tour guide and gave us an insightful and fun tour .

Reviewed May 9, 2026Very friendly welcome! All hotel staff (reception (!), restaurant and guides extremly friendly! Thank you all! We had a very nice dinner. The location is unique: farm style! The rooms with old(er) furniture therefore fit in perfectly.
If you dont have a car, it is hard to explore the area.

Besonders gut gefallen hat uns die gesamte Anlage mit den Häusern im holländischen Stil, dem super gepflegten, schönen grossen Garten. Hervorzuheben ist auch das feine Frühstück und das fantastische Abendessen. Ein Highlight war die Erdmännchen-Tour bei Sonnenaufgang mit den sehr interessanten Erklärungen. Einfach nur fabelhaft!

Frank was at at reception when we booked in and told us all about what was on offer at the farm and about places we could eat dinner. ( we decided to braai the first night. The next night we went to Buffelsdrift. We did a meerkat safari with Ras who was very informative. Even though we had no luck with the meerkat we learnt a lot and saw giraffe and many other animals. Stephanie was very helpful and accommodating at breakfast.
The night sky was absolutely amazing..

Reviewed Apr 2, 2026Wir haben in Cottage Nr. 8 gewohnt. Sehr viel Platz mit 2 riesigen Schlafzimmern und 2 riesigen Bädern. Tolle Terrasse mit direktem Zugang zu einem der Pools. Die gesamte Anlage ist einfach mit viel Liebe angelegt. Es wirkt alles sehr gepflegt.
Die Mücken, die uns nachts geärgert haben und die Matratzen waren für unseren Geschmack zu hart.

Reviewed Mar 10, 2026Super freundliches Personal und Service. Für uns wurden Restaurantreservierungen gemacht und sogar ein Termin bei einer Ärztin, als es mir nicht gut ging. Der Garten mit Pool ist sehr entspannt. Wir haben im Endeffekt den ganzen Tag dort gelegen und es sehr genossen.
Es gab keine Seife im Bad und der Wasserkocher war etwas dreckig von innen.

We didn't see a Meerkat on the tour which is incredibly unusual but the trip was so well done that it honestly didn't matter. We saw other animals like giraffes and springboks and it was fab.

Reviewed Feb 26, 2026We loved the peaceful location of Room 20 mountain manor and super views of the surrounding mountains. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and light and exceptionally clean. The ostrich steak was delicious at the evening meal.
There was a ledge between bedroom and bathroom- not defined or marked in any way so constantly tripped up over. In fact my husband injured his ankle and is still hobbling two days later. There was no corkscrew/bottle opener in the room although wine glasses were supplied. Loud music with breakfast was totally incongruous to such a lovely setting and the breakfast was very mediocre with little choice of breads or cooked dishes. Disappointing. .

Reviewed Feb 9, 2026Greeted at reception by Victor who sorted out a restaurant booking in Oudtshoorn with shuttle for the evening as well as sorting out our rooms. He kindly opened the bar for us after dinner and offered to light a fire for us to sit outside under the stars. He couldn't have done more for us. The bedroom was comfortable, clean, and the linen excellent, with a shaded verandah, looking over a pool which was shared with 2-3 other rooms. The rest of the staff and family were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are a little old fashioned but I liked that. I didn't like the filter coffee for breakfast but my husband did!

Das Abendessen war perfekt und die Erdmännchen-Tour am frühen morgen sehr besonders! Lage etwas abseits der Hauptstraße, perfekt auf dem Weg zu den Cango Caves gelegen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Ostriches a sight to behold as were the mountain views and numerous pools which provided respite from the heat. Delicious breakfasts and dinner, (ostrich stroganoff) and compliments to the chef. The Meerkat tour highly recommended, and a wonderful interaction with Hermes, the tour guide, who provided insights and anecdotes of these magical meerkats. Do pop into the restaurant Nostalgie in town for lunch or dinner and you will experience more of this wonderful hospitality as well as delicious food. The Ostrich kebab at Nostalgie mouthwateringly delicious.

The airconditioner provided welcome relief from the heat. We had a lovely pool set in the beautiful garden just a few steps from our door. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the hosts could not do enough to make our stay special. The accommodation is close to some nice restaurants and a lovely wine farm. We liked it so much we extended our stay by another day.
The cutlery, crockery and glasses need upgrading. The breakfast could be changed up abit but there is more than enough to eat. Otherwise everything was perfect. We loved it.
