Tout! Ce fût absolument ce que l’on cherchait pour ce très court séjour dans le Douro.

La quantité inexistante de taxis sans réservation pour se rendre de la gare de train de Pinhão vers la quinta.

Die Lage ist mit 1,5km vom Ortskern gut. Das Restaurant mit Außenterasse hat einen tollen Blick auf die Weinberge und der Pool mit Liegen ist ebenfalls sehr schön.

Beim Dinner wurden die Tische auf der Terasse total zusammen gequetscht und man hatte überhaupt keinen Platz mehr für die eigenen Beine. Das ist bei den Preisen nicht akzeptabel. Außerdem kam das bestellte 2.Glas Wein nie an. - Alles sollte hochwertig wirken und die Preise entsprdchend gerechtfertigt sein. So war es aber leider nicht. Die Qualität war nur durchschnittlich. Auch die hauseigene Weinprobe war nur sehr oberflächlich, fast geizig im Angebot.

Restaurants were sub par for the pricing. My sea bream was baked straight from frozen -nothing special in preparation for ‘fine dining’.

The property was incredible with amazing scenic views. The wine was being made while we walked through the property, which was an incredible experience. Both restaurants were fantastic to eat at, one being a bit more high-end for dinner. The breakfast is one of the best we've had with an abundance of selection. About a 15-20 minute walk from the train station so very easy to get with but also so quiet!

Room Clara was lovely and looking over the Douro river. Cozhina Clara restaurant was incredible, worth trying the tasting menu. Excellent breakfasts and good food at Tim's Terrace for a more casual alternative. Lovely pool area.

While we were lucky enough to get taxi from train station on arrival and back at the end of our stay, however it can be difficult to book. Might worth booking in advance if possible.

I would have liked to get much more helpful responses to questions I sent days upfront to the reception where I asked for help with options for a vineyard walk (as there was none scheduled until two days after our departure). The answer was simply: this is not what we do, talk to the partner company (that didn’t offer walks during our time at Quinta de la Rosa). I ended up organising a trip with the vineyard next door (Quinta da Foz) that was very friendly and helpful.

View and walking paths. Leonardo who led our tour

Staff. No one smiles, no one greeted us during the day. The provision of what meals you had to eat during the day was awful between breakfast and dinner. You cannot expect people to wait after breakfast until 3 or 4pm to eat. There was no vending, no snacks to purchase or drinks. If there were no one offered that information. Staff were rude and completely bothered to us. Again no smiles no greeting. Our server at lunch completely disappeared and never once came back to our table after we order. This is unacceptable. We travelled a long arduous distance to get your vineyard to stay. The only people who were friendly were the woman who received us when we arrived and Leonardo who led the tour. The view and the grounds are beautiful. Treat your guests like you appreciate them and offer simple options like snacks. We were constantly hungry. Just because the barbeque is closed shouldn't mean we can't eat until the afternoon. Also you provide a very restricted menu with limited options especially for vegatarians. Even you are non vegetarian large hunks of meat are not appetizing. Food quality was not that great to play it up that the Chef is highly touted. Service was slow.

Krásné ubytování v naprosto překrásné lokalitě. Ačkoli nám pobyt propršel, nemohli jsme se vynadívat a nabažit se pohledu z okna či celého pozemku quinty. Personál velmi milý a vstřícný. Chtěli jsme využít nabízenou vířivku, ale byla zrovna v opravě.

Dle recenzí jsme čekali výjimečnou snídani, ale trochu nás zklamalo, že byla oba dny naprosto identická a neobsahovala ani kousek zeleniny. Myslím, že je škoda, že při ceně ubytování si člověk u snídaně musí ještě výrazně připlatit, pokud chce nějaké vaječné teplé jídlo. Zbytečně to kazí dojem z jinak pětihvězdičkového prozákaznického přístupu.

Het verblijf was geweldig. Het restaurant conzinha de Clara is een aanrader. Personeel heel vriendelijk.

De wijntour beter niet doen. De jongedame die ons rondleidde had geen kennis van wijn maken en gaf antwoorden nav vragen die echt niet kloppen. Zoals dat alle rode wijn die er gemaakt wordt max 1,5 jaar goed blijft.

A bit on the expensive side

We had such a relaxing time thanks to the gorgeous scenery, the excellent restaurant, a lovely wine tasting and the pool! Staff was very helpful and went above and beyond to assist us with an early departure. Also a delicious complimentary breakfast.

It’s a little tricky to get around without a car (besides taxis to the train station). We had no issues choosing to stay on property for our stay, but if we had wanted to see more of the region we might have needed a rental or driver.

Our entire experience here was exceptional. My favorite of all the places we stayed on our vacation. Warm welcome. Conscientious and helpful staff. Carefully curated rooms. Great parking. An absolute delight.

Absolutely nothing.

Beautiful hotel build right next to the Douro and a few minutes out of Pinhão. Staff was super nice, the atmosphere very relaxed, a small but adequate pool with views over the Douro valley and an excellent restaurant you shouldn't miss.

The basic rooms are not cheap but really small. They're comfortable and all have a great view, but I expected more for the price. You really do pay for the view

Tudo foi quase bom na Quinta, a localização, a comida, os funcionários, principalmente o Leonardo para quem deixamos um abraço. fica perto do centro do Pinhão e te uma vista MARAVILHOSA, inesquecível, é para voltar sem qualquer dúvida.

O caminho do centro da quinta, o restaurante ou a recepção para a casa amarela, por dentro é muito acidentado, por fora é mais fácil, mas não tem qualquer luz/candeeiro a iluminar a estrada até lá. Á noite, depois de jantar tivemos de ir com as lanternas dos telemóveis, só falta isso para ser perfeita !

Zeer mooie grote kamer. Alles relatief nieuw en goede bedden. Zeer uitgebreid ontbijt met verse producten. Het restaurant is ook aan te bevelen.

In de grote kamer was er geen bureau of tafel waarop je een laptop op kon plaatsen om wat te werken.

Our stay was fabulous. The apartment was neat and tidy and had everything we needed for a magnificent stay.

Falta de água quente no chuveiro ao final do dia e início da manhã. É muito bom terem painéis solares para aquecer águas, mas tem de ser salvaguarda a disponibilidade de água quente sempre. É básico em qualquer alojamento!

This hotel is a special treat being right on the Douro river and an easy walk to the village below. The staff were special as well with loads of help with day trips and other recommendations. The restaurant however stole the show with a glorious breakfast and an a la carte evening menu which was superb. We had to have the wine tour of course - and it was great and informative. The pool was gorgeous for lazing beside and watching the cruises glide down the river.

The separate bar and fast food area was not our cup of tea, so no sundowners for us.

Decent offer in rooms is a must for us. Instant coffee just doesn’t cut it in a 5 star hotel. Also, the cost per night was excessive in my opinion compared to other places in the area we stayed at.

La habitación era muy cómoda, sin televisor, algo genial para dormir. La localización era muy bonita y tranquila.

Se me hizo un poco caro para la época que era. Los vinos no eran tan buenos como esperaba y caros.

Es un lugar privilegiado. Y yo ya he visto unos cuantos, por ejemplo El Gran Cañón o San Petersburgo. Y a la Rosa, al Alto Douro, quiero volver.

We stayed at Quinta de la Rosa from 16-19 June. It was incredible. We loved every moment that we were there. When we arrived we received a very warm welcome from Phillipa - she was so lovely. All the staff we met were wonderful. We couldn’t believe how beautiful the Quinta is. Stunning. It was so relaxing and we loved experiencing it. We especially enjoyed our walk to the Vale do Inferno. We also enjoyed a tasting tour led by a fantastic guide(sorry I missed your name). Our room was perfect. The pool area was beautiful- what a view of the Douro river!Breakfast was a wonderful selection of food options. We ate every night at Cozinha de Clara. We had fantastic meals there and on our last night had a great chat with the lovely gentleman there (again sorry we never got your name). We loved the whole experience. We loved learning the history of the quinta and thank all at Quinta de la Rosa for a fabulous experience. We would definitely return and hope to! Thank you so much.

Everything! The location, the views of the river, situated on a hill in the middle of a vineyard, breakfast overlooking the river and a very attentive staff!

Our suite has a great view of the river and a nice terrace space. The bed is comfortable, and we love the decor. The pool area is nice, and we also enjoyed our hike around the estate. The staff is friendly, and the communication is very easy. The location is walkable from Pinhao Station; however, in hot summer weather, the walk could feel a bit tiring.

What an amazing place with amazing views. We were welcomed very professionally and guided to our room. Excellent breakfast buffet. You can also ask for eggs made as you want. At walking distance from Pinhao, a cosy little village with plenty of restaurants.

Habitación en 2 pisos con living abajo y dormitorio y baño arriba, pero los placares para las ropa y valijas estaban abajo. Restaurante sobrevalorado con platos de porciones pequeñas y nada especiales con precio alto.

We had a short, but beautiful stay at Quinta de la Rosa. The pictures from the website don’t capture how beautiful and peaceful it is here. It’s incredibly beautiful. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to explore the town itself. However, I can highly recommend the hotel. Our room was absolutely lovely! We are extremely satisfied.

such a hidden gem, we only stayed for one night as it was recommended we just do a day trip to Duoro from Porto but we should have done more. the property is beautiful, very well maintained and our suite was so lovely and full of little touches we really appreciated. we had the tasting menu from the on site restaurant and it might be one of the best meals i've ever had. breakfast is continental but a really diverse range and all great quality. views are exceptional, there's also a pool and lots of communal areas around the property where you can relax. we were a bit late arriving so missed the start of our cellar tour and tasting but the staff were so accommodating and ensured we didn't miss anything

there was some construction going on over the other side of the river which could be noisy at times. and not a critique of the property, but just to note - it really is very accessible from the train station, a 5 min drive or 20 min walk (which you could do, no more hilly than Porto) but if you arrive in Pinhao by train, would recommend pre booking a taxi to take you there. there's not a lot of taxis outside the station and you won't get an uber like in Porto

Nothing we didn’t love!

This property is centrally located in the heart of the Douro Valley in Pinhão. It is still a family run business instead of the corporate wine owners. The wines were excellent, as they are just about anywhere in the Valley. Our room overlooked the river, which most do. It was clean with all modern amenities. We highly recommend this hotel. The staff were happy, helpful and accommodating to every need!

Such a magical place! The staff were so kind and helpful. The property itself is only a 15/20 minute walk from the train station. Our Accomodation was amazing -stunning and comfortable bedroom, sitting room and bathroom. The wine tasting and tour was very interesting and the pool was a lovely place to relax and admire to views. We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner at cozhina de Clara and lunch at Tim’s taverna. This was honestly the best place I have ever stayed in! We are already planning our next trip back!

Preis- Leistung des Essen war nach nicht geben. Der Service dagegen sehr gut. Das Frühstück gut präsentiert aber geschmacklos.

Sehr schöne Anlage, perfekte Lage mit Aussicht auf den Douro und die Weinberge, und Wanderungen direkt ab Hotel. Begrüssung mit einem Glas Rotwein aus eigener Produktion. Sehr schönes Frühstück Buffet das keine Wünsche offen lässt, kaum zu übertreffen. Das Essen kann auf der Terasse eingenommen werden. Auch der Pool ist empfehlenswert und schön angelegt.

The dinner is very expensive, but the service at the restaurant is poor. The room we got was near the hotels snack bar, so it was noisy. Also, somehow the service cupboard of the cleaning stuff was near our door the Tha cleaning lady woke me up early. The wine tour is not included and it's price not chsep at all. The breakfast is not so rich

Absolutely stunning property and stay! The restaurants are amazing, breakfast is a feast, the views are outstanding, we loved it! It was a nice walk into town, but so quiet and peaceful being just outside the village. We spent a morning hiking up the hillside on a trail through the vineyards, which gave us the most amazing vista. Highly recommend! We booked a smaller room but there were many spaces to use at the pool and patios and communal “living rooms”.

Das Zimmer war sehr gut, ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass ich mal mit meiner Frau vorbei komme. Das Frühstück sowie das Essen waren einfach Mega.

Vom Hauptgebäude bis zur Casa Amarela gab es wenig Licht. Der Weg war nicht beleuchtet. Die Weinberg-Tour sollte früher angeboten werden Bsp.: um 10:00 Uhr.

Amazing hotel with charming views of the river Duoro and the valley in Pinhao village. Excellent facilities, helpful staff, swimming pool, our room (called Sarah:)) with the river view from the bedroom upstairs, comfortable bed, quiet sleep at night, spacious bathroom with Molton Brown soaps, and excellent food at Cozinha da Clara restaurant...We had a top notch experience of our stay.

We enjoyed everything and hope to come back sometime in the future.

Absolute stunning spot, amazing views of the river, super friendly staff, great room, amazing restaurants and super informative tasting! We left early in the morning and they offers and had our breakfast ready the night before which was great and very tasty!! Highly highly recommend!!

Everything, the property is beautiful and well appointed - they have a wonderful swimming pool and hot tub, free coffee with a separate living room, the views of the duoro river and hillsides are incredible, and there are plants and trees everywhere. it’s a really nice property that is both modern while still being cozy and quaint

the property is amazing, but the staff is unwelcoming and overwhelming rude. upon arrival, the staff at the front desk seemed put out to be having to deal with us. We made a reservation and had dinner at their restaurant the night we stayed, and even though we arrived right on time, the male host seemed flustered and dismayed by our arrival, and gave us a gruff “what can I do for you??” when we walked in, and scowled as if he was upset that we were dining. Our server was also very rude, we ordered a cocktail and glass of wine, 2 appetizers, and 2 entrees and had no questions- and she literally looked at us and made sounds under her breath that made us both feel embarrassed and confused. She smirked at my girlfriend when she pronounced the name of a wine incorrectly. All of the food was delicious, zero complaints there, although it was 2X the cost of everywhere else we had been eating and the food wasn’t on any higher level (you are paying for the location and the view, but not the service) When we finally asked for our check after being left alone with the dessert menu for 30 minutes, it took another 40 minutes to produce a check. There were multiple servers and bussers clearing empty tables, cleaning glasses, and resetting them for the next day - yet they just kept walking by. We asked for the check 4 times during this time, they finally dropped it and the guy was very apologetic. The restaurant is very poorly managed. I was a restaurant server for over 10 years in many restaurants, and I am always patient and sympathetic if the staff is getting slammed, but they were not busy - just unorganized and unhappy. My girlfriend and I are easy going and friendly, and we arrived to the hotel and to the restaurant in a good mood. We have both found that the people of Portugal everywhere we’ve been are super nice, kind, friendly, helpful, and easy going (we spent time in Lisbon, Evora, Nazare, Sintra, Coimbra, Lagos) But the staff at Quinta de La Rosa are rude.

A truly exceptional stay. The atmosphere was relaxed, peaceful and authentic, with stunning views over the Douro Valley. The service throughout was warm, professional and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling formal or forced. The entire property felt beautifully integrated into the landscape and had exactly the kind of calm, understated luxury we were hoping for. We especially appreciated the relaxed atmosphere, excellent food and wine, and the overall feeling of being able to properly switch off and enjoy the surroundings.

This hotel exceeded our expectations and I couldn't recommend more highly. It has all the amenities of any luxury hotel despite their initial message causing some anxiety about what we were getting ourselves into! They provided a hair dryer in the room, pool towels, robes and Molten Brown toiletries in the bathroom including hair conditioner which goes above lots of other hotels in itself. The rooms and all facilities were very clean and towels replaced daily. The staff were so lovely and helpful, and although they do say in their initial booking message that they won't help with transfers etc they were happy to pre-book our taxi back to the train station for us. The location is great, an easy walk into Pinhao which is uphill on the way back but all paved and not overly challenging for those that are able-bodied. We happily walked back after dinner at 10/11pm with no issues. We stayed in Amarela House and again were a bit worried as they make the walk sound difficult, this is a bit uphill but very manageable and only takes 2-3 mins so nothing to worry about.

Nothing to do with the hotel but there are very limited taxis in Pinhao and all of the 3-4 times we walked past the taxi rank near the station there were none around so if you're planning to arrive by train with bags I'd try to pre-book somehow. Any other time without bags the walk to the hotel is fine!

The room was perfect and the view incredible. We had a lovely stay at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the wine tour, dinner and our morning walk through the vineyards. Wish we could have stayed longer.
