The Hamptons Guest House

I did like the cute ginger kitty. The room comfortable. The ocean views are blocked by the relocation of Lighthouse Group in March 2025 by the Lighthouse Group. They are an independent insurance and financial services company.

What makes a guest house is its service, and its warmth of its staff - If the owners are not present, then it would be recommended to have a live-in staff present. There needs to be some life in the guest house. The owners, a lovely couple, seemed interested in their own life, and not the guest house. I think they are involved in real estate, and building a portfolio.

We always stay here. It’s clean, comfortable, conveniently located, and the breakfast is good.

There isn’t anything we did not like.

Good sleep in comfortable beds. Sufficient space and storage in rooms.Lovely decor and furnishings and felt like home. Large patios with garden furniture to lounge around.

Cooking smells & noise wafted into bedrooms in the mornings.

Location is excellent and staff efficient and friendly. Facilities are top class. Ideal for the discerning business traveler.

Morning external traffic noise is a little too much. Could do with double glazing especially on street facing room windows.

Ticks all the boxes for comfort, cleanliness and convenience.

The breakfast is of great quality and well prepared and the location is perfect, very close to restaurants and just a short, pleasant walk to the beach.

Smell of bacon in entire house in morning. Inadequate kitchen ventilation.

Our room was fantastic with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the linen was clean. Only 1 thing was our bed sheet was frayed on the edges and torn. The bathroom was perfect with clean towels whenever we needed. The breakfast was great. The staff were absolutely fantastic, accommodating and very helpful if we needed anything. A fantastic warm family like place with all the facilities we needed and close to the restaurants and beach. We enjoyed ourselves immensely, felt very comfortable and would definitely stay there again!

It is greatly located, at a walking distance of the beach and restaurants. Parking inside the property was really great. The Guesthouse is lovely. With beautiful lounges, a bar and a good swimming pool. The bedroom was spacious as well as the bathroom, with a big balcony and a bit of a sea view. Breakfast was always good, not much variety, but of good quality. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful! All in all, it was a great stay, and we definitely recommend The Hamptons Guesthouse.

Sisanda cares a lot about the property, and both common areas and each room is arranged with a lot of care. Her husband is also very welcoming and friendly. It is wonderful how you can find such a lovely respite from hustle and bustle of Umshalanga. Furthermore, when requested, Sisanda will accommodate dietary needs - so do mentioned ahead if you need some plant-based milk. The location is superb - just a few minutes to both Ocean Mall and the beach. Do also ask your hosts about place to eat out - they do have great recommendations !

The Location is perfect, situated 750 m from Umhlanga’s main entertainment and leisure hubs , restaurants and malls . It is quietly tucked away from the noise of the Main Street so you can sleep peacefully

It’s a lovely guest house. Spotless, spacious and comfortable room with a wonderful sea view. Sisanda and her staff were amazing. We also had a delicious breakfast!

Sisa, the new owner and host, was very welcoming and friendy. We have been at Hamptons several time before, and still, under new ownership, it is an absolutly perfect accommodation. Close to Restaurants and beach in Umhlanga, safe, very confortable, big rooms, lovely breakfast, and the staff is exceptional friendly. We appreciated the water bottles in the mini bar in the room. We will be back, keep the good service up!

awesome we asked for soft scrambled eggs it was soft. I ordered french toast I had to go back to ask how she made the french toast it was that good

we enjoyed everything

Everyone was friendly, the rooms were lovely, and they did their best to make us welcome and enjoy our stay.

There was no lift and quite a few stairs, so with heavy suitcases and no assistance on arrival it could have been better.

Location is excellent to get to restaurants etc. There is secure parking and the rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was good too.

The bathroom floor could do with a good scrub. It was disappointing to have painters right outside our bedroom window in the morning. They should have painted when there were no guests in the room.

Windows and doors had to be closed because of monkeys which is hard to control Cat in dining room all the time

Enjoyed the homemade breakfast every morning. Everything was fresh and delicious. The kitchen staff always tried to ensure one was happy and full.

Lovely place to stay and will definitely be back. The place felt like home away from home. It’s located in a great central area and walking distance to the beach. There are also shops near by if one needs to get some snacks and great popular restaurants to try out.
