Décoration à améliorer (on sent que c'est pas fini...) Climatisation poussive. On obtient péniblement 28° alors que la télécommande affiche 18°....(recharge de gaz nécessaire). Restauration basique alors que tous les produits sont juste en bas (dans le marché) pour élaborer des plats locaux savoureux.

Het feit dat het een koloniaal Frans pand is dat in de originele staat is gehouden. De ligging is fantastisch; je kijkt uit op de markt.

La déco extrêmement originale qui reflète la personnalité du créateur de cet hôtel qui est passionné de motos, de photos et qui a rapporté de nombreux objets de ses séjours en Asie. Installé dans un ancien bâtiment administratif construit durant l époque coloniale française et volontairement conservé dans son état.

Malheureusement le bruit du marché au milieu duquel il est situé, nous a réveillé aux aurores tous les matins...

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour à Privada Lodge. Le lieu a une vraie personnalité, avec un parti pris de réutiliser ce qui peut légitimement l’être, une décoration authentiquement vintage, pleine d’objets chinés et de détails qui donnent l’impression d’entrer dans une maison qui a une histoire. Les pièces sont grandes, agréables et pleines de charme. Un autre vrai plus est Alex, francophone, qui connaît remarquablement bien le Cambodge et partage volontiers ses conseils, ses bonnes adresses et sa connaissance du pays. Il peut également organiser différentes activités et excursions, ce qui facilite vraiment le séjour. Nous avons aussi apprécié les repas, les jus frais et tous ces petits moments passés sur place… sans oublier les deux chats, qui contribuent au charme et à l’atmosphère de la maison ! Mais ils restent discrets si on le souhaite. Le personnel est très gentil et attentif. Une adresse originale, chaleureuse et très différente des hôtels standardisés. C’est précisément ce que nous recherchions

Seul tout petit bémol : une seule serviette de toilette est prévue par personne. Une seconde aurait été appréciable, même si, bien sûr, nous aurions tout simplement pu en demander une supplémentaire.

Un endroit très agréable pour passer quelques nuits, dîner ou boire un verre ; le service est exceptionnel et le personnel très sympathique. On aime particulièrement la déco très soignée avec de beaux meubles et objet, où tout est pensé pour donner une « cambodian vibe » des années 60 à aujourd’hui. Les chambres sont grandes, les douches très bien !

This place is a little gem in the middle of the busy marked. Alex did an amazing job on it and he is the most accommodating host you can ask for.

Les chambres très grandes surplombent lles parasols colorés du marché ouvert ... et joyrux ....toute a journée

The hotel is located above the local market, just two blocks from the river, making it perfectly situated for exploring the area. The building itself is a beautifully renovated colonial-style property that once served as government offices, adding a unique sense of history and character. The décor is exceptional and truly transports you—it feels like stepping onto the set of a Casablanca film. Alex, the owner, is incredibly friendly and helpful. He went out of his way to assist us in coordinating a tour to see the dolphins and arranging our transfer to Siem Reap, which made our trip seamless and stress-free. With only three rooms in the building, the atmosphere feels intimate and exclusive. Our room featured a large, comfortable bed and was thoughtfully designed, with beautiful decorative touches throughout. We highly recommend it!

La décoration originale et le volume des nombreux espaces accessibles de cet hébergement nous avaient déjà séduits lorsque nous l'avions choisi pour séjourner à Kratie. Une fois sur place, ce sont ses propriétaires qui nous ont conquis ! Nous avons passé de très bons moments avec eux, pour un apéro sur le rooftop ou pour nos très bons petits-déjeuners pris dans l'immense salle rectangulaire aux allures de musée où toutes les choses qui sont exposées ont une histoire, un passé. Pour tous les amoureux du voyage, cet endroit dont le bâtiment a connu plusieurs affectations (plusieurs "vies") est un concentré de souvenirs et un lieu unique incitant à la rêverie. Et pour les anecdotes, demandez à Alex, il a longtemps voyagé dans de nombreux pays d'Asie...

Le Privada est le meilleur endroit où séjourner à Kratie. Au delà du confort de la chambre et des délicieux petit déjeuner, c’est un bond dans le temps assuré ! Le bâtiment a été excellement rénové et la décoration choisie par le gérant est somptueuse. Nous avons tout simplement adoré passer du temps dans le grand salon et sur le rooftop avec un verre de spritz :) Nous sommes très heureux d’avoir rencontré le propriétaire Alex et ses chats Croquette et Mario. (Le tour à moto proposé par Alex est un incontournable)

Durch die Lage mitten im Markgeschehen war ab 05:00 kein Schlafen mehr möglich. Frühstück und Abendessen überteuert. Defekte Sessel auf dem Balkon. Toilettenpapier war nicht mehr verfügbar weil kein Ansprechpartner anzutreffen war.

un charme fou pour le voyageur qui ne s’attend pas à un cinq etoiles, une deco qui nous replonge dans les années 50, un proprietaire français sympathique et aventurier, un excellent bbq sur la terrasse, un emplacement en plein coeur du marché, bref, un endroit unique.

Magnifique hôtel au style vintage, vraiment plein de charme. La chambre était spacieuse, tout comme la salle de bain, avec une belle vue sur le marché. Le coucher de soleil depuis le rooftop est tout simplement magique. Le barbecue était délicieux. Mention spéciale au personnel, adorable et attentif. Un grand merci à Alex qui prend le temps d’expliquer et de donner toutes les recommandations utiles. Je recommande sans hésiter !

Incredible property in the heart of Kratie. A long list of likes….. the welcome from Alex and the team, the building and all the memorabilia, the bedroom with amazing aircon and loads of space, the rooftop bar for dinner and drinks, the breakfast……. Hard to pick out one thing but the breakfast and the incredible coffee set me up perfectly for a long cycle in the heat!!

Charmant ancien bâtiment gouvernemental dans lequel Alex, le propriétaire, a aménagé des chambres spacieuses, décorées avec goût et bien climatisées, au-dessus du marché animé de la ville. La vue au coucher du soleil depuis le toit-terrasse est incontournable. Le Mékong est à 2 minutes à pied. Excellents services. Les conversations avec Alex, hôte exceptionnel et très bien informé sur la vie dans une grande partie de l'Asie du Sud-Est, nous manqueront.

Nous avons adoré cet emplacement qui nous a permis de pleinement vivre la vie cambodgienne de cette petite ville. L’originalité du lieu et les nombreux échanges avec notre super hôte Alex nous ont permis de vivre une magnifique étape de notre périple en Asie du Sud-Est.

Situé en plein cœur de la ville de kratie cet hôtel dispose d une vue imprenable sur le marché. Ce qui permet de se rendre compte du quotidien des cambodgiens. Cet hôtel est également très bien décoré dans une ambiance vintage et possède un roof top très agréable où l on peut boire et manger la nourriture locale. Mais surtout cet établissement est dirigé par Alex et sa femme qui sont 2 personnes très accueillantes et chaleureuses et toujours présents quand vous avez besoin de quelque chose .

Privada lodge est un hôtel de charme en plein centre de Kratié. La deco est incroyable et notre chambre en terrasse dominait le marché central.Nous nous sommes sentis bien et Alex est adorable, il a passé une partie de la soirée et de la matinée avec nous , nous avons beaucoup parlé du Cambodge…

Uns wurde dieses wunderbare Hotel von Freunden aus Berlin empfohlen. Die Gastgeber erinnerten sich an sie und wir bekamen bei unserer Ankunft ein Upgrade für ein größeres Zimmer. Wir haben jede Sekunde in diesem liebevoll renovierten Haus genossen, den großen Gemeinschaftsraum, die Dachterrasse, den Blick auf den Markt, das Haus gegenüber, es war wie auf einem Wimmelbild nur in echt! Unser Tipp: einen ganzen Tag nur im Hotel und in den Straßen drum herum verbringen. Wir fanden es großartig!!! Merci beaucoup an Alex und das gesamte Team

Struttura situata nel pieno centro con il mercato che circonda l'edificio ed i rumori che ivi produce sono presenti dal mattino presto a tarda sera, se ci fossero dei serramenti che limitano tali rumori sarebbe stata cosa gradita. Il bagno è comunicante con la camera da letto, oltre a non avere nessuna porta che divide, i muri del bagno non arrivano fino al soffitto.

This place is such a gem! The interior design is so beautiful and unique which lots of interesting antique objects. The rooms are spacious and very clean. All the facilities are western standards. The rooftop bar is lovely with great views and cocktails. Alex is an excellent host. Hotel is well located in Kratie.

A somewhat unusual Lodge in Cambodia, furnished with extreme taste in the middle of the Kratie market and managed by a Luxemburger and very helpful and kind local staff. Thanks to all of you as you Made us feeling a bit at home! We will miss you!

The central location in the heart of the market was a lovely experience - being able to watch the locals going about their daily lives from the balcony and rooftop terrace was fascinating. The opportunity to stroll through the market and town was a highlight of our trip to Kratie. The rooms in the hotel were spotlessly clean and spacious. Alex was a great host and entertained us with his amusing stories as we chatted in the rooftop bar and restaurant. This is a lovely spot to watch the town at night and even if you’re not staying at Privada Lodge it’s well worth a visit.

There was a local wedding grown the road whilst we were staying which did get noisy at times but it had all finished by 10.00pm.

Because the hotel is in the middle of the market, it can be quite loud particularly when they are setting up at 5am! We just put earplugs in, and the location more than makes up for the noise.

Prachtig authentiek gebouw met sympathieke eigenaar. Je zit in het centrum van Kratie met mooie rooftopbar aanwezig. De kamer is gigantisch met mooie grote spiegel, goede douche, fijn bed en airco (niet super sterk maar voldoende). Hele coole vibe en leuk terras aan de kamer. Fijne tips van Alex over de omgeving.

De prijzen zijn hier heel stevig. De kamer vond ik te begrijpen maar voor het diner en ontbijt is het erg duur voor Cambodia. Je slaapt hier middenin de markt dus verwacht je aan veel lawaai. Eigenlijk geen volwaardige maaltijd te krijgen als vegetariër maar de frietjes met een portie dumplings waren super lekker! Er zijn genoeg opties buitenshuis dus dit is eenvoudig te vermijden.

Absolutely loved staying here in Kratié! Such a great spot for a first time visit. Feels homey with just 3 rooms, and just above the market where you can enjoy the street views from the super cool rooftop lounge and the balconies. The building is lovingly restored, retaining its original charm, plus it is painted in my favourite shade of green 😁 private tours to see the dolphins are available to book through the lodge as well and we would’ve loved to try the moto tour if we had an extra day. What’s always a big highlight is those I get to meet, and the owners, caretakers and 🐈🐈 (Mario and Croquette) were simply so warm and welcoming. Take some time to explore the tastefully decorated living space, and have an aromatic cup of coffee and chat with the owner Alex. We were so curious to know more about his unique collectibles, his experiences, and of course his unmissable motorbikes 😁 He’s a fantastic storyteller and is full of insights. The room itself is spacious, clean and everything I love in a good stay 😊 (Look no further!)

The decor is spectacular, as is the thoughtful renovation of the historic Cambodian architecture. Intriguing art pieces from Myanmar, a collection of motorcycles, delicate Japanese china - everyday you’ll notice something new. The location is above the central market for epic people watching of the daily transactions over stacks of colourful fruit and shiny fresh river fish. And, if you’re lucky, the rooftop bar & grill will be open the season your visit and you can dine under a canopy of bright stars. Dolphin and temple tours arranged by the host as well as minivans to get you to whatever town you’re headed to next. Pick this one.

Very friendly en helpful staff, centrally located in a vibrant city center. Nearby bus station and Mekong river and local daily market. We made a nice exciting tour to see the dolphins.

Petit hôtel où l'on se sent comme à la maison, avec ses trois chambres et son salon commun, le tout dans un cadre vintage où les tenanciers nous partagent leurs passions pour la photographie et le voyage. Les repas y sont délicieux, préparés minute avec des produits venant directement du marché d'en bas. Si vous cherchez un cadre typique de Kratie, vous êtes au bon endroit.

La pluie le dernier jour...

A very unique stay in a renovated historic building. Alex, the owner, put much care into the renovation and design of the place and it shows. Using vintage, authentic, repurposed pieces, he brought together environmentally conscious design, asian art, and personal touches to create an eclectic vibe (the place could easily be a small museum). There's just 3 spacious bedrooms, so you will get a very personal touch and enjoy the quiet and slow pace of Kratié. The rooms were big and comfortable with exit to the balcony, they are equipped with AC and a fan. The bathroom in our bedroom was open (no closing door, just a wall separation) so it's not the most private, but we didn't mind. The location is perfect, 2 blocks from the river, and right on top of Kratié's main market. Don't miss the hotel's restaurant, the food was absolutely delicious for both breakfast and dinner (just a little pricey compared to outside prices)

The shower was a little splashy but it was really not a big deal.

L’entrata, nel mezzo del mercato, appare al primo approccio un po’ trascurata ma, superata la prima rampa, si entra in un ambiente fatto di piccoli segreti e grandi tesori.

The property is an old buiding from the 1950’s (I think) recently turned into a hotel. The owner / host made a point to keep everything as close to the original as possible, allowing you to travel back in time. The decor is really nice, showcasing local artists and artesans, the rooftop is great, everyone was super helpful when I wanted to book travel & tours, have laundry done etc. There is a real attention to ecology, creating as little waste as possible. The location in the heart of the market and just 2 mins away from the riverside is also very convenient. Thank you again Alex for making my stay in Kratié so memorable!

Just a real special place, something out of the mainstream

Absolutely loved this charming hotel. Amazing staff. Alex was exceptional with his attention to detail and advice about Kratie. Rooftop patio offered stunning view of sunset. Common areas were tastefully decorated with treasured pieces with stories to tell. The room itself was exceptionally spacious, modern and extremely comfortable. The shower was lovely. The hotel is located in a very central area. Easy to walk around the city and explore the market. Bikes were readily available and in very good shape. All in all would highly recommend this hotel. Definitely planning to stay here again on my next trip to Kratie!

This was the most expensive of our accommodation over our month stay in Cambodia. Only four rooms in an old Lodge overlooking the market. Renovations have retained the old walls, tiling etc. which was taken to the extreme in the entrance and stairs which did give a poor impression on entering. However the room itself was very spacious with a good shower and air conditioning and fan. The view over the market was entertaining although it does start early and there is an aroma from the area where rubbish is left at the end of the night. The bed was comfortable and a bottle of water provided each day. Would have liked a bigger fridge where ice could be made. However we enjoyed our stay, communication was good throughout and Alex sorted out our ongoing travel.

The dinner of BBQ ribs was excellent. The food was generally good. I thought the breakfast could have had more selection such as fresh juice and not from a box. This is a very unique iconic property.

The noise level in the room is not good. Definitely need earplugs to sleep. No hot water in the bathroom sink. In the shower yes, but not in the sink.
