Sigiri Mount Villa & Restaurant

Anu and his wife are very very friendly! They make delicious foods and really try their best for you. They arranged a Safari for us where we got to see many beautifull elephants in Miniriya national park. Would highly recommend to stay in Sigiri Mount Villa & Restaurant!

La struttura è molto carina e comodissima per visitare le principali attrazioni della zona. La camera era pulitissima, l’aria condizionata funzionava perfettamente e ci siamo sentiti subito a casa. Ma il vero punto forte è il cibo, semplicemente pazzesco! Il proprietario è uno chef e, insieme alla moglie e insieme alla moglie sono davvero bravi in cucina. Abbiamo mangiato qui il miglior cibo provato durante il nostro viaggio in Sri Lanka! Inoltre una nota di menzione anche ai che sono davvero carini e accoglienti e genuini. L’accoglienza, la pulizia, la posizione e soprattutto la cucina hanno reso il nostro soggiorno davvero perfetto. Un posto che consigliamo assolutamente!

Il posto è davvero molto accogliente, con un dehor curatissimo dove si fa la colazione, ci si può rilassare, fare aperitivo, sempre coccolati da Anu e sua moglie. Abbiamo mangiato divinamente, una delle migliori cene in Sri Lanka e la colazione migliore in assoluto, sia tradizionale che internazionale ma con tocco locale. Le stanze sono piccole ma molto pulite e curate, e il letto straordinariamente comodo. Anu è una persona deliziosa e anche molto colta, potrà darvi molti suggerimenti e racconti sul suo bellissimo paese. È lui lo chef del ristorante e gli facciamo tanti tanti complimenti perché se li merita tutti. Anche alla sua splendida moglie Grazie

The stay was very pleasant. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, he is a chief also, so good was very tasty. He assisted with organizing safaris and transfers.

Ils ont eu à coeur de nous préparer un programme optimisé à Sigiriya afin que nous puissions voir le maximum de choses en 2 jours ! La cuisine y est également excellente, nous vous recommandons vivement cet endroit

We enjoyed our stay in this clean, well-equipped room. It is air-conditioned and also has a fan, plus mosquito nets for extra comfort. The bathroom is practical with an instant water heater and all the necessary facilities. The host and his family are genuinely nice people who make a real effort to be helpful.

A few things are worth noting. At night, monkeys jump around on the wooden rooftop, which can make it hard to sleep. We also spotted a few bugs on the bed, entirely normal given the wilderness setting. The host is quite talkative and tends to ask a lot of questions, which some guests may find a bit much. Housekeeping was limited: the bed sheets were only changed when we specifically requested it, and even then we had to wait for him to do it after we returned from our hike, despite having asked before we left. Overall, a solid base for exploring the area if you’re comfortable with the natural surroundings and a chatty host.

It was like going home to family. The exceptional care for our well being reached a personal new high - Anu the owner is a kind spirit who also happens to be a world class chef! He woke up at 4.30am to make a surprise Kiri Bathi milk rice cake for my wife's birthday. His and his wife's attention to detail would verge on the comedic if it weren't for their loving sincerity.

The hotel is clean and has a beautiful garden. Mr Anu and his wife are very friendly and always ready to explain and help you. We had the western breakfast with omlette, fresh fruit juice, fresh fruit, toast with jam and butter. The room has everything you need, hairdryer, coffee kit ecc... This hotel is a little out of the way, but there are a lot of tuk tuks that you can use to get around. They can also organize safaris and trips for you. I really recommend this place.

The rooms and grounds are beautifully presented and thoughtfully attended to. The garden is lovely and full of fruit trees and flowers. Chef Anu and his wife are spectacular hosts and cannot do enough for their guests. Anu is full of information about local history and attractions. We ate breakfast and dinner every day at the villa as the food was amazing and full of variety - both Western and Sri Lankan.

The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The breakfast, included in the rate, was nice.

The homestay is quaint and quiet tucked away from main Sigiriya. The room was cozy with all good fittings. Slightly smaller than expected but Anu’s helpful nature made up more than enough for it. Anu is a great chef so should try the food at his place.

If you want to experience nightlife of Sigiriya this place is slightly far from the happening places.

Extremely friendly owner!

Anu was amazing. This was by far the most memorable stay in Sri Lanka. Anu is an amazing host and cook and he helped us with everything, he gave a lot of tips for our trip that made all the difference. The meals were also the best we had in Sri Lanka. His house is simple but very comfortable and clean and the location is also good, close enough to the main places we wanted to visit.

The touristic places are nearby and by car or Tuk tuk easy to reach. The owner and his wife are very nice and he try’s to help you as much as he can. The food is good and original. We had a room in the little house in the garden. The room was very clean. Good beds

The room was very noisy. You can hear the neighbours in the other room. It was no problem for us.

Pięknie położony, świetnie wyposażony i utrzymany. Czysto. Bardzo sympatyczni i uczynni gospodarze. Na miejscu restauracyjka z bardzo dobrym jedzeniem. Ceny wręcz śmieszne.

Локация идеальная. Кругом магазины и кафе. Достопримечательности все рядом. Чистая комната, места немного, но для тех кто приходит только спать идеально. Персонал очень заботливый и отзывчивый. Завтрак был вкусный, поскольку владелец в прошлом повар.

Consigliamo al 100% questo hotel! I proprietari sono estremamente gentili, ospitali e disponibili. La camera è piuttosto spaziosa e dotata di tutti i comfort necessari. La sala comune è molto accogliente. La cena a base di cibi locali è stata veramente deliziosa. Il posto migliore per soggiornare a Sigiriya!

I proprietari sono stati sempre molto disponibili e presenti, gentili e attenti alle nostre richieste. La posizione è ottima per visitare la rocca. Anche la colazione e la cena è stata abbondante e di buona qualità. Piacevoli chiacchierate con i proprietarie e ottimi consigli sul proseguimento della vacanza.

The host are a great friendly couple. They are super helpful and do their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They cook the food in the restaurant themselves and its very good. They help you book drivers if needed.

Room can feel a bit small for two people but if your just there for a few nights its very manageable. One morning, the house next door started to play music obnoxiously at 7:45am , it felt as if someone was banging on our room walls. This has nothing to do with the villa but it was an unpleasant alarm clock.

We stayed 5 nights and can highly recommend it. We were warmly welcomed with a fruit juice and ended our stay feeling like family. Our host makes the most amazing Sri Lankan dishes to order so food is always fresh and very tasty. We can also recommend the mango juice it was delicious 😋 The room was clean, shower hot, air con good, we had kettle, tea coffee,mosquito net and even a hairdryer. Our host also helped with arrangements for tours at very good prices - matching pick me prices with additional stops along the way. They couldn’t do enough for us and I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to them for making us feel so welcome. I do not do reviews very often but feel these guys really deserved to be recommended so don’t hesitate to come and see for yourselves.

The couple who ran/owned the villa were lovely and made the stay brilliant. It felt homely and comfortable, and they couldn't have been happier or more polite. The food was reasonably priced , especially considering hotel/villa prices. But the food was exceptional, although very large portions! The husband has cooked for of Sri Lanka and we know why! It was also nice to have somewhere providing mosquito nets and mosquito plug ins as not many stays have provided this for us during our travels.

Une superbe pension chez l’habitant où il fait bon séjourner. L’environnement est verdoyant, notre chambre familiale avait une terrasse sur le jardin au calme. Les hôtes sont charmants, bienveillants et font tout pour faire plaisir. Les enfants sont les bienvenus et les hôtes les adorent. Nous recommandons fortement de manger sur place, les gérants sont de super cuisiniers et les prix tout doux. Nous avons même pu faire à manger avec eux ! Un endroit à ne pas manquer proche de tout.

Man muss sich auf Nachtunruhe durch Affen auf dem Dächern einstellen.

Die Zimmer waren sauber, die Ausstattung wie beschrieben. Es gab Moskitonetze an den Betten und Wasser, Wasserkocher, Kaffee und Tee. Das Frühstück war auch super, es wurde jeder Wunsch erfüllt! Der Gastgeber und seine Frau sind super nett und haben uns bei allen Angelegenheiten geholfen (z.B. beim Organisieren von Tuktuks). Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert

Sehr herzlich empfangen. Der Besitzer hat viele Tipps gegeben, über Früchte und Gemüse auf Sri Lanka und essen allgemein. Wir hatten sehr leckeres Frühstück immer mit Frischsäften und Abendessen war hervorragend. Zimmer waren sauber und wir haben nichts vermisst. Der Ausblick war auf den Garten und wir konnten wilde Affen, Hörnchen, Eidechsen beobachten. Es war sehr schön. Wir empfehlen Abendessen in diesem Restaurant und 100% weiter Empfehlung für die Unterkunft.

In Sri Lanka sind die Menschen unglaublich warmherzig und freundlich. Udeni und Anura sind dabei die absolute Spitze😃 Die umfangreichen Empfehlungen und die große Mühe, die sie sich geben, sind unschlagbar!!! Für den Geburtstag während unseres Aufenthalts haben sie wunderhübsch dekoriert, extra in der Stadt eine kleine Torte mit Namen und 'Happy Birthday' organisiert und mit uns und Freunden von ihnen eine kleine Feier gezaubert. Ob es um die Organisation von Fahrern (Indika ist äußerst zuverlässig, freundluch und höflich), Geheimtips oder die Sri Lankische Geschichte ging, sie waren immer der richtige Ansprechpartner. Fast schon wie eine eigene kleine Reiseagentur😍.Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und es mangelte an nichts. Wenn wir etwas vermisst haben, kümmerten sie sich darum, es so schnell wie möglich zu besorgen. Und wir hatten in der Villa die beste Klumaanlage der ganzen Reise. Wer Anuras Curry und das Sri Lankische Frühstück in der Villa bekommt, hat den Sri Lankischen Essens-Himmel erlebt.😋😋😋 Darüberhinaus gibt es Rezepte und Erklärungen zu traditionellen Küchengeräten des leidenschaftlichen, professionellen Kochs Anura.🙏 Auch die Hauskatzen werden, ebenso wie wie Gäste mit Wohlwollen, Liebe und Respekt behandelt.🐱 Wir planen eine zweite Sri Lanka Reise und werden dabei die beiden auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen und uns von ihnen verwöhnen lassen❣️ Danke Anura und Udeni🙏🙏🙏

We really loved Anu, our host. He helped us with everything we needed, wes very friendly and lovely, and cooks delicious food. The room we stayed in had AC put the same day we arrived, so we had great temperature i the room. Really recommend staying there!!!!

Everything was awesome

Breakfast was good and well-prepared. Despite some problems, the owners were very helpful and kind, always trying their best to make our stay better. With some improvements to the rooms and facilities, this could be a much more comfortable place to stay.

Our stay at this hotel was a mixed experience. The room we had was quite small having one double and one single bed, and there were a lot of mosquitos, which made it uncomfortable at times. Also there was no trash bin in the bedroom and the toiletries (hand wash, shower gel, shampoo) came in very small refill packaging, which wasn’t very convenient. The second day I had to ask for extra toilet paper as only one and halfway used was already in the toilet. Dinner wasn’t really to our taste as the food was too spicy for us. My aunt’s room also had some issues – three frogs appeared from the bathroom sink, which was quite surprising, and her boiler wasn’t working, so she had to use our shower instead.

Las habitaciones muy limpias y con agua caliente y aire acondicionado. Un 10 y totalmente recomendable para tu estancia en la zona

Accueil très sympathique avec cocktail de bienvenue et une grande volonté de nous transmettre tous les bons plans de la Sigirya dès l'arrivée. Anu et sa femme sont aux petits soins pour que votre séjour à Sigyria soit au top. On ne manque de rien, savon, serviette et même kit petit déjeuner sont fournis dans la chambre.

Il s'agit d'une auberge plus que d'un hôtel. Le confort est sommaire, les chambres petites mais climatisées. L'emplacement n'est pas central, il faut prendre un tuk tuk pour aller dans le centre. Néanmoins, ça reste une bonne adresse pour visiter les différents points d'intérêt de la ville, comme le Lion's Rock qui est tout proche.

I loved it here. The family running it were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. The food was lovely and so we ate breakfast and dinner there each day. The air con was lovely and cold. It was very good value for money.

It was a beautiful stay with my family. Anu and his wife are so nice, very helpfull and friendly. Great kitchen as Anu is the chef. Location just in the middle of the turistic atractions (Dambulla Temple, Lion Rock, Safari).

The accommodation didn’t really impress us. Breakfast was average, and the location is quite remote and far from everything. We also saw two huge cockroaches and several lizards inside, which definitely affected our experience.

Really lovely owner, super friendly and he was a government chef before so he really knows how to cook. The rooms are lovely too, and great location.

A small accommodation with big, kind hearts. A warm-hearted couple running a cozy guesthouse together. We truly enjoyed our stay. Anura and his wife are brilliant cooks they really do magic in the kitchen. The rooms were clean and cosy perfect in size for the stay of our family. Also they were very very helpful for us to organize the busses and Tuk Tuk and it was just very nice to have them at our table talking and making friend!

Amazing experience with Anura and his family. They made us feel like we were at home. The rooms are simple, but cosy, with hot water and A/C. Very well located. The breakfast was very savory. Quality-price excellent. We strongly recommend this stay.

The owners are a very warm friendly kind couple, so welcoming & hospitable, any food they prepare is delicious and generous proportions, proud gardeners, enjoyed sharing information and as two women travelling alone, we felt safe. Close the atm for cash (guarded) and other restaurants. Tuk Tuks are easy to grab or alternatively The Rock is a shaded 5 km walk one way.

Shower didn’t have hot water but with warm weather, didn’t bother us.

We had a great stay. The accommodation was very clean including a mosquito net and hot water. The owners were super friendly and gave us tips for activities. But the best thing was the food. We got something authentic from Sri Lankan cuisine every day. The many locals have confirmed the quality. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I would love to come back!

The villa was in a great location and had a fan and ac to keep us cool. The food from the restaurant was exceptional and the staff were extremely friendly and always happy to help arrange activities and transport. Highly recommend!

For the price you get so much things. We came late very tired and they made us exellent dinner with such a big portion. They have cats and dogs there also

Room is not isolated very good at least the standard room with no ac which is also turned to the road side and the dogs are very loud during the night

The Host was very friendly and helped me with my questions. As I had to leave early the next morning I couldnt have breakfast so he prepared a lunchbox for me.

In the evening it was a bit noisy when the Host and the others were talking.

I recently stayed at sigiri mount villa and had an excellent experience. The staff was welcoming and attentive, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. One of the highlights of our stay was the food and every meal we had was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the variety and quality exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend to stay here for anyone looking for a great stay with exceptional dining options. Thanks for the great stay at this perfect place! Room was maintained great, working airco, hot shower and delicious breakfast. We enjoyed the talks with the owner and his precious advice to do in Dambulla and ofcourse Sigiriya. The breakfast was the best we had during our whole trip of 3 weeks in Sri Lanka, curry, light noodles, cocos samball, sweet curry’s and more. They even checked with us if it shoudnt be to spicy.
