Great location, lovely staff, ... we loved our stay.

We stayed at Sigiriya Sunshine Villa for three days and honestly couldn’t have wished for a better experience. ❤️ From the very first contact, the communication was warm, friendly and respectful. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful, and we always felt that they genuinely cared about making our stay as comfortable as possible. They helped us with all kinds of transportation and transfers, and everything was organized smoothly. We also booked a safari through them, which was a wonderful experience and one of the highlights of our stay in Sri Lanka. 🐘🇱🇰 The villa itself is very nice, clean and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the pool, which was perfect for relaxing after exploring the area. We felt comfortable and welcome throughout our entire stay. What really touched us was the small farewell gift we received when leaving. It was such a lovely and thoughtful gesture and really showed how warm and welcoming the people here are. 🥰 We honestly have nothing negative to say. Everything was friendly, respectful and well organized, and we were always helped whenever we needed anything. A huge thank you to everyone at Sigiriya Sunshine Villa for making our first days in Sri Lanka so special. We will definitely remember the wonderful hospitality and the lovely people we met here. ❤️ We can absolutely recommend Sigiriya Sunshine Villa and would happily stay here again!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet établissement. Le staff était vraiment très sympathique, accueillant et disponible. Ils nous ont beaucoup aidées tout au long de notre séjour et ont toujours été là lorsque nous avions besoin de quelque chose. Les prix sont très abordables au regard de la qualité du séjour. Les chambres étaient très propres, confortables et très bien climatisées. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié l’accueil et la gentillesse de toute l’équipe. Nous recommandons vivement cet établissement et n’hésiterions pas à y séjourner à nouveau !

My stay at the hotel was exceptional in every way, highlighted by three standout features. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, providing a deep and restful sleep . The food was absolutely delicious, offering fresh breakfast .Finally, the location was simply the best, placing us right in the heart of trees while still offering a peaceful atmosphere. It made for a truly unforgettable and effortless getaway.

Ci siamo trovati benissimo! Lo staff è stato davvero gentilissimo, disponibile e sempre pronto ad aiutarci. La struttura può organizzare direttamente diverse attività ed escursioni: noi abbiamo fatto con loro il safari ed è stata un’esperienza davvero unica. La camera è semplice ed essenziale, ma assolutamente adeguata per il soggiorno. Molto bella la piscina.

El personal es super amable y servicial. El comedor es muy confortable y los desayunos, que estan incluidos en el precio muy variados y ricos. Las habitaciones son amplias y estan muy limpias, como única pega que no hay armarios ni perchas, ni donde dejar la ropa. Te montan todo tipo de excursiones, super recomendables.

The property is very pretty with a lovely pool and restaurant. Its location is out of town but in a lovely area. The room was comfortable with good aircon and wifi. Comfortable beds. The breakfast was decent , not the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka but fine. The staff were very friendly.

The bathroom didn’t have a bathmat or hand towel. We asked for extra towels though which was no problem. The bathroom drain was smelly. We didn’t raise this so not sure if they could address it.

Obiekt w spokojnej okolicy, nieco z dala od imprezowego centrum Sigirya. Mily, pomocny wlasciciel pomaga ogarnac safari (ma dwa wlasne jeepy) i rozne inne atrakcje w okolicy, w dobrej cenie. Sniadanie bufetowe, bardzo roznorodne - oprocz bufetu mozna domowic omleta i tosty. Jest mozliwosc placenia karta, ale doliczana jest prowizja 2,5% Super rozwiazaniem jest basen, milo bylo sie w nim schlodzic po calym dniu w upale. Caly teren jest urzadzony w stylu siediska z centralnym placem na ktorym jest basen W barze mozna dostac piwo i wino, do tego tes potrawy

We arrived in the evening at about 7pm and had paid for full-board and were needing to leave at 5am the next morning. We were shown quickly to our room which was comfortable clean and spacious. The dinner was delicious - we had also said please do not worry about breakfast as we are leaving early in the morning about half an hour after this conversation staff came to the room with a lovely packed breakfast that we could take with us and eat on the road.

Sehr gute Lage, weg vom Trubel aber doch zentral. Das Team ist sehr hilfsbereit, der Chef sehr nett mit vielen Vorschlägen. Leider redet er etwas viel😉 Essen empfehlenswert. Wir sind aber zum Abendessen immer in die Altstadt, da ist einfach mehr los Schöner Pool

Kein Schrank oder sonstige Möglichkeit den Koffer/ Rucksack mal auszupacken

Wir hatten einen wirklich tollen Aufenthalt und haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt! Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, die Lage ist super und besonders die Pool Area ist einfach mega, perfekt zum Entspannen. Der Besitzer war unglaublich aufmerksam und hat sich um alles gekümmert, sodass wir uns jederzeit bestens aufgehoben gefühlt haben. Zum Abschied haben wir sogar noch ein kleines Geschenk bekommen, eine wirklich wunderschöne und herzliche Geste! ❤️ Ein absolutes Highlight war für uns die Elefanten-Safari, die wir direkt über das Hotel gebucht haben. Die Safari war definitiv unser persönliches Highlight der Reise und wir können nur empfehlen, sie ebenfalls über das Hotel zu buchen. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt – wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Clean and comfortable rooms with amazing air con for a break from the heat! We upgraded to the superior family room and was super nice to have a refrigerator and patio with table and chairs for relaxing! Pool and lounge was great and they are even in process of building a 2nd pool! Breakfast had good mix of sri lankan dishes and continental like breads, fruit and toast. Staff was super friendly and accommodating and the sunshine squad can help organize great safaris and other local tours and drivers for a good price! Would definitely recommend to stay!

Estancia muy acogedora, habitación amplia, aire acondicionado, limpia y ordenada. Los empleados fueron muy amables, la piscina estaba a una temperatura perfecta y limpia. Te ofrecen todas las facilidades para transporte y excursiones a buen precio. Repetiría sin duda.

Todo fue perfecto. Las habitaciones estaban muy limpias y además tenían mosquiteras, lo cual se agradece mucho. La piscina también era un auténtico lujo, perfecta para relajarse y refrescarse. El desayuno tipo buffet estaba buenísimo y era muy variado: había fruta, zumo, pancakes, pan dulce, tostadas con mantequilla y mermelada, café o té, y además te preparaban un huevo como quisieras. El restaurante del hotel también nos encantó. La comida estaba muy rica y a muy buen precio, y podías cargarlo todo a la habitación y pagarlo al final de la estancia, lo cual era súper cómodo. Pero, sin duda, lo mejor fue el personal. Todos los trabajadores fueron absolutamente encantadores, siempre amables y atentos. Nos hicieron sentir muy a gusto durante toda la estancia. Además, al irnos nos dieron un pequeño regalo, un detalle precioso que puso el broche final a una estancia genial. ¡Totalmente recomendable!

Por poner alguna pega, estaría genial que hubiera una pequeña nevera en las habitaciones. Por lo demás, todo perfecto.

La piscina. Personal muy amable y atento. El desayuno era un pequeño buffet pero suficiente y bueno todo. Tambien te ofrecen torrilla o tostadas y café.

Cuando te duchas mojas todo el baño. Si coges media pension solamente te ofrcen 4 platos a escoger y 2 postres. No me avisaron que la bebida iba a parte. La ubicación no es céntrica. Hay una carretera sin luz para llegar a la zona de restaurantes y tiendas Por el resto, estuvimos bien.

La piscine, et la chambre spacieuse.

Lit très dur, pas de table de nuit et surtout pas de réfrigérateur dans la chambre malgré la forte chaleur. Les chambres ne sont pas faites tous les jours. Petit-déjeuner avec peu de choix. Enfin, 2,5 % de frais supplémentaires pour le paiement par carte, qui ne m’avaient pas été annoncés malgré ma demande préalable.

Wir haben 3 Nächte in der Unterkunft verbracht, wurden am Flughafen abgeholt und sehr freundlich empfangen. Die Anlage war sehr schön, das Zimmer war gut eingerichtet und das Frühstück war auch lecker. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir waren sehr flexibel und es war alles unkompliziert, da sie uns überall hinfahren und abholen konnten. Es werden gute Aktivitäten angeboten, wie z.B. die Jeep Safari, die sehr empfehlenswert ist. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist sehr gut.

There were no proper blankets in the room, no tv. There was no much option for breakfast. At the breakfast they did not even label the food items. We couldn’t differentiate what was veg and non veg. Very low options for veg.

The room was spacious, the restaurant was lovely with a nice breeze. The included breakfast was nice.

Good location, helpful staff, especially with regards to food allergies. Booked Sigiriya rock tours and Mineriya safari for us. For the price it was very good value

Some of our group who went in the pool developed a rash, so was not able to make good use of it.

L’emplacement permet d’aller dîner facilement aux alentours ou de prendre un tuk-tuk pour rejoindre le centre-ville à moindre coût afin de faire les principales activités. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le restaurant de l’hôtel, accessible à toute heure. Il est également très agréable de pouvoir manger au bord de la piscine ou sur la terrasse privée de sa chambre. Un autre point fort est la grande disponibilité des responsables de l’hôtel. À deux reprises, ils nous ont spontanément rendu service, simplement parce qu’ils étaient attentifs à notre programme et avaient remarqué ce dont nous pouvions avoir besoin. Une attention vraiment appréciable ! Nous avons également pu être surclassés sans difficulté à notre demande. Enfin, l’hôtel propose des safaris à des tarifs intéressants, ce qui est un vrai plus pour organiser son séjour. Chambre propre et climatisé

On aurait apprécié plus de rangement dans la chambre (une grande commode ou une armoire) car toutes les valises au sol ça manque de praticité sur plusieurs jours

Sehr schönes Gelände in idyllischer Lage, allerdings zum Zeitpunkt unseres Aufenthaltes noch zu Teilen Baustelle. Wenn der zweite Pool fertig und die Wege ringsum befestigt sind, ist es sicher noch schöner. Der angestellte TukTuk Fahrer und Guide war super nett und Preis für die Fahrten angemessen.

Das Poolwasser war geradezu seifig und die Fließen drum herum entsprechend spiegelglatt. Der etwas selbstgefällige Eigentümer hat das nicht so gesehen. Auch auf unsere Frage nach externen Restaurantempfehlungen war er wenig hilfreich, weil er laut eigener Aussage nie extern isst. Unser (unabhängig vom Hotel organisierter) Taxi-Fahrer hat das Bild bei der Abreise bestätigt, weil das Hotel es wohl nicht für nötig hält, seine Location bei Google Maps so eintragen zu lassen, dass externe Fahrer die Einfahrt einfach finden…

We asked about finding a yoga class nearby, and he went out of his way to arrange one for us at another place, including organizing both the pickup and the return. We also had a lovely chat with him during dinner. He is clearly very involved in making sure his guests are comfortable and enjoying their stay. The restaurant is also very good, with a nice selection of local Sri Lankan dishes as well as other options. If you want to try the grilled chicken, make sure to order it a little in advance, as it takes around 45 minutes to prepare. You can order either half a chicken or a whole chicken, and it is definitely worth trying. The other dishes we had were also very good. The villa has a nice swimming pool, and they were also in the process of building a second pool when we stayed there, which will be a great addition once completed. Another big plus is the laundry service. It was efficient, convenient, and very reasonably priced. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. A lovely place with good food, great hospitality, and an owner who truly cares about his guests. Highly recommended!

The pool is definitely the main attraction. Rooms were basic but comfortable and clean, and had nice verandahs to sit in the lovely garden.

Not a huge amount of choice at breakfast and there was no WiFi in one of our rooms.

Everything was good and smooth

Our stay here was wonderful. The villas are quite new so very modern rooms with AC and very clean. A beautiful scenic grounds with a pool and plenty of sunbeds. The owner and staff we so accommodating and were available at any time to give us taxis everyday to the town which was about a 10 minute drive away. They organised any activity we were interested in doing including hikes and an amazing elephant safari. Breakfast and dinner had plenty of options and staff were more than willing to support any requests. Would definitely stay here again and excited to see this business continue to thrive.

Super verblijf gehad. In Nederland al geregeld dat we door een chauffeur van het vliegveld werden gehaald. Dit verliep allemaal erg soepel. De eigenaar denkt mee in wat je wil doen en kan dit ook voor je regelen. Konden ieder moment van de dag bij het personeel een tuktuk of transfer regelen. Konden onbeperkt flesjes water krijgen. Kamer was prima. Airco werkte goed. Bij uitchecken kregen we nog een presentje!

Dobre śniadania, dogodna lokalizacja, spokój, cisza. Pokoje w domkach przestronne z dużym tarasem. Obsługa batdzo miła, zwłaszcza właściciel, który podczas awarii prądu w całej wsi podłączył domki do agregatu, żeby mogły dalej krzystać z prądu, w tym klimatyzacji (a było już dość późno). Bardzo miły i uczynny.

Die Lage ist sehr gut um eine Safari zu machen. Die Betreiber sind extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen im Restaurant ist hervorragend. Die neuen Bungalows sind sehr schön

Die alten Zimmer können wir leider nicht empfehlen. ich empfehle dringend bei der Buchung ein neues Zimmer zu verlangen.

Fijne kamer. Lekker zwembad. Goed restaurant. Op 5 mij rijden van de leeuwen rots, dus ideaal. Lekker ontbijtbuffet. Aardig personeel. Restaurant, ligging, kamer en prijs zijn perfect in verhouding. Als je hier bent, ga ook eens eten bij The Yard; aanrader en vlakbij het hotel.

Nous avons passé trois nuits dans cet hôtel et nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Toute l’équipe est très sympathique et à l’écoute, les activités proposées sont toujours de très bon choix, c’est simple, nous avions l’impression d’avoir un guide personnalisé. Le restaurant dans l’établissement a été fortement apprécié, que ce soit pour sa variété ou pour sa qualité.

Amazing villa with one beautiful pool and a second one in construction. Not a simple hotel, but luxury stay. Our room had AC issues and the owner upgraded us for free to a new and beautiful cabana. There is also a very good and not expensive restaurant with a vast menu. The position is perfect to reach everything (including dambulla, lion rock, piduranagala rock and the center) quickly by tuktuk. 100% recommended it was our favourite hotel in the entire Sri Lanka.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Sun Shine Villa. The staff and owner were incredibly friendly and helpful with everything. Their own safari tour was fantastic, and transport to the village was well arranged with tuk tuks. The pool was lovely, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and the omelets were freshly cooked to order. Highly recommended for a pleasant stay in Sigiriya!

Chambre confortable et spacieuse. La piscine est très appréciable après une journée de découvertes.La cuisine est typiquement locale et permet de goûter à différentes spécialités. Le personnel est aux petits soins et a eu plein de gentilles attentions pour notre famille tout au long de notre séjour.

Huisjes waren top. Personeel was zeer vriendelijk en heel erg behulpzaam. Top verblijf en zeker een aanrader.

Personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk. Locatie van het hotel is wat aan de verre kant van de gezellige restaurants/bars maar ze brengen je overal naar toe met de tuktuk. Lekker zwembad en goed ontbijt.

Mooie plek dichtbij de Lion Rock. Wij hadden een huisje dat vrij nieuw was. Zwembad was heerlijk, ze zijn bezig met een tweede zwembad. Eigenaar en personeel zijn heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ontbijt was niet heel bijzonder maar voldoende..
