The area is closer to little Paris and cableway , Neat ,Big space and privacy , my partner enjoyed the area , we were looking for a private space to celebrate his birthday and iris retreat was the best choice , we are Definitely going back

The nature. The set up of having your own chalet and having the privacy to enjoy yourself like you in the wild but safe. It’s clean; it’s safe; it’s a breath of fresh air. It’s a great experience I would recommend to anyone You have your own fire you can make, braai area. All in the comfort of one area. My partner and I had an amazing time as we spend good quality time together and the place created that for us The owner was an amazing person and the staff were absolutely amazing as well and I appreciate that. Spa services were also amazing getting a massage out in the open with the flow of the river was a great experience One of the best massage I have gotten Thank you for everything this was amazing

The area and layout are great. The staff are very friendly.

The lack of maintenance is clearly visible with some safety issues in the kitchen. The kitchen faucet is totally loose and you can see it has been for a long time, seeing that the top has been soaked with water. Underneath the sink is a inverter. A Safety hazard with water leaking through. The blinds are broken and some doesn't even open. The curtains are very dirty and difficult to open. The sliding door wheels are all worn out making it difficult to open the door. Room cleaning service only happened once. We had to request dry towels and cleaning. Lack of communication. An Hour massage is not even 40 minutes. A very beautiful tranquil venue with a lack of proper maintenance. Not worth the money you pay.

We liked the Chinese-inspired structures & decor. Rooms are clean & spacious. We enjoyed the outside shower.

We could not enjoy the pool because it was dirty. Vegetation & the trees blocked the beautiful river flowing near our room. It's not welcoming & conducive for kids as noise levels are restricted, to accommodate massage therapists.

The natural set up...the deco....the peace and tranquility ....the ambience.... sound of the water from the river nearby . The staff was polite and professional. The privacy and being so close to nature.....I loved the sweet donkeys

Having to step outside the sleeping unit to get to the kitchen.....It's probably due to the gas stove but I wish the two could be connected somehow. The kitchen can also do with more kitchen equipment, there was one pot ,a frying pan, a broken kitchen knife and old napkins. The massage was good but I feel the treatments were cramped together ....i.e doing the foot treatment and lifting one's legs to the basin while lying on the bed was very uncomfortable.

Trees surrounding our cottage and the room was amazing exactly as shown. Our dialy visits from donkeys they are so adorable. We stay in The Plantation Cottage and we loved every minute together a well spent 37th Anniversary celebration.

The outdoor furniture was not clean and the kettle was so rusty we didn't use it.

The staff was friendly and addressed the issues we raised. The ladies who provided the massages were also excellent.

In the morning, the oven wasn’t working due to a lack of gas, and the toaster kept tripping the power. Although we were promised a replacement toaster, it was never provided. On Sunday morning, there was no water available for bathing as maintenance was taking place, so we had to wait. Additionally, all the cutlery was dirty, and the blankets had holes in them. The swimming pool was not maintained at all, which made it unusable throughout our stay.

Absolutely LOVED our stay. Here are some of the reasons we enjoyed it so much: Private outdoor relaxation area, complimentary sherry on arrival, decor, separate kitchen area, shower pressure on both inside and outside shower was really good, the bed was very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the animals on the property. Unfortunately no time to use the spa facilities, but hope to visit again and take advantage of spa treatments on offer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Iris Retreat!!!

Was looking forward for relaxing in the bath tub , but the bath tub drain stopper allowed water to drain out.

From the moment we arrived at Iris Retreat, we were blown away by the warm hospitality. Christine, our host, was truly exceptional, she personally welcomed us and made sure we felt right at home. She was always available via WhatsApp for calls and texts, and went above and beyond to help us organize anything we needed. Her friendliness and attentiveness made our stay feel extra special, she’s honestly the best host I’ve ever met. We stayed in the Riverside Cottage, and it was breathtaking. The views of the river were serene and calming, the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. The cottage itself was spacious and beautifully set up. We especially loved the combination of the two bathrooms , one being an en-suite and the other an open-air outdoor shower and toilet, which made us feel even more connected to nature. The bed was absolutely massive, incredibly comfortable, and spotlessly clean. If you’re looking for a peaceful, private, bush-like escape surrounded by nature , this is it. Everything about Iris Retreat encourages you to unplug and unwind. A special shoutout goes to Banda, one of the staff members, who was so helpful with setting up the fire and tidying up the space , always with a kind smile and warm attitude. I genuinely loved every minute of our stay and am already looking forward to booking again. Thank you, Christine and the Iris Retreat team, for such a magical experience!

Absolutely nothing!

Truth be told,ideally this is one of my favourite places I’ve visited,if you mainly looking for an intimate,calm and relaxed getaway place please do not hesitate..it’s very private and exclusive with quiet a lot of a variety of entertainment. I was highly satisfied with the outcome and I enjoyed every single inch of it,the beauty of the bushes and the river view was insanely beautiful including their outdoor showers,this experience was out of this world. Not to forget to mention how friendly they are and it was heart warming. I genuinely encourage anyone to visit this place with no doubt because I’m definitely going back.🤌🏽

Nothing negative to say I liked every bit of the property

The spa and the accomodation and the animals. It was realxing.

The tranquility, the outdoor nature experience. The hot water and the pressure was great. Didn't get the chance to visit the swimming pool, suppose because it's winter. But I'm sure it's also great.

We were spending the weekend in your little piece of paradise for our anniversary. That is all we can call it, it wowed us so much. The setting is out of this world and very tranquil. We decided not to go out for dinner on Friday and instead sat around the bonfire toasting marshmallows, drinking sherry with some lovely cheese. We just relaxed and listened to some music. Saturday evening instead of prolonging our anniversary dinner we decided to come home to the tranquility of Paradise and lit a fire once again with hot chocolate and marshmallows. You have a wonderful product and we will definitely spread the word. Banda surprised us with Sherry and chocolates - Thank you to you, Banda and Gerald for making our trip memorable.

Hahaha I couldn't leave without letting you know of our little problem. My hubby went to the room to get his whisky....then I heard bang... when I looked round he had walked straight into the door. He was startled your doors are so clean you don't realise there's a glass there. After folding over and killing myself laughing at his expense the same thing happened to me. Hahahahaha. Just one suggestion maybe put a strip across on eyelevel or some beautiful moon & star stickers to show the door is closed. Thanks again for a beautiful stay.

Peaceful, all required amenities, feels like you could be in the middle of a forest

The property needs a soft revamp and they need to clean properly. The bath room outside has a bad smell but it was decorated nicely, the kitchen as well had a smell but it was well equipped with all u would need

Beautiful Location, very relaxing get away. Welcome wine was a pleasant surprise. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked and catered for our needs. Good location too.

if you need peace and quietness,away from the busyness of the city, this is the perfect place to go. The staff was helpful and the host was very much acccomodating. i will definalty come back again

The welcoming from Gerald was excellent, himself and his colleagues assisted us to offload. and was very friendly.

We booked the Spa treatment for 2, and unfortunately due to the rain it could not happen on the river deck. And was asked to do the spa treatment in the Room, although the room can accommodate these the mobile spa beds were not confutable at all. And was a bit hard on the sponges. Then there were no refreshments given during the time although it was part of the package. But treatment from the ladies was lovely.

We were welcomed by the owner Christine who is very kind and soft. We were assisted by the careworker Banda who went an extra mile to ensure that we have a lovely stay. The property is in the middle of nature, we could hear sound of the flowing river and birds which created a calm and peaceful environment. The property offers a private patio where you can braai and relax while overlooking the river. This was good value for money. The pictures here don’t do much justice. Christine’s place is the place to be if you are looking for an escape from your everyday life. A hidden Gem I must say

The weekend felt short

Christine was super friendly when we arrived. Her manager showed us to our accommodation.

We were taken aback as we were expecting bricks and mortar as per the pictures on booking.com - the concept is ok but the Reed like Wendy House with a smaller Reed like Wendy house as a kitchen attached was not what we had booked up for. There was a 2 plate table top "stove", no coffee maker as per booking.com ad. No complimentary toiletries, no bathrobe nor slippers - all in the advert. No cleaning service, the day before we left Christine called and asked if everything is fine. I said no one has been to service the "cottage" - she said no you don't have to clean as they have people to do that. Well I said there isn't even a broom here to sweep so do send someone with one please. the draped mosquito nets were dirty as were the cushions out side. There was a hammock, but you could not lie on it as the hammock lace under the throw was rotten, so you fell through. There are spider webs all over and we were ready to leave the next morning, we stayed the 3 nights but left early on the 4th day Sure, this is a retreat but it should be for people who normally stay in back packer type accommodation, wit a touch of cleanliness. We certainly will not be back.

The environment was beautiful and quite. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Our kitchen was a bit shabby with floor rotting and tilting and the oven's top gas element kept extinguishing itself. Their were also barely coffee or sugar provided.
