It’s like a summer little houses inside of a golf club, the views of the animals are amazing, also that you can do a lot of activities. They cleaned the room that was a nice surprise. There’s bbq but no kitchen to do like french fríes or something.

The bed was hard, The Jacuzzi was absolutely dirty with moho all around. I used the bath tub and it flood all around. The bathroom does not has a properly door so you can hear everything that the other person is doing.

Enough shade, smoking areas to accommodate smokers. Live Rugby, Good service from waiters...overall an excellent experience

Suggestion: possibly closing the sand pits for the children during the night. My grand daughter of 1year picked up a nasty bacterial infection as a matter of fact 3 and was hospitalized for 5 days. The pediatric physician said it had been picked up from a wild animal. That is the only place she was days before the outbreak. He said it was the most likely place. Thought the sand pits were very cute but unfortunately has a con.. But will not change my opinion about Magaliespark. Just something you could consider looking at as it is a requirement at schools to keep the sand pits closed when not in use to prevent cats doing their business in the sand pits.

Housekeeping / cleaning was not acceptable. Also, broken glass in multiple locations throughout the park and strong sewerage smell. Both bounce pillow and splash park were closed for maintenance at the same time (for more than a week).

We were denied entry to the property because were arrived on a motorcycle. Nowhere on Booking.com was it shown that a motorcycle was not permitted. Refund for the stay was also denied and we were not allowed to see the manager.

I’ve stayed at Magalies Park several times before, which is why this visit was disappointing. The reception and restaurant staff were friendly and the room was beautiful. Unfortunately the service is not great. Had to wait nearly two hours for maintenance to come and assist, terrible water pressure in the shower and unfortunately from a few of the restaurant staff gave very slow service. Reception hardly ever answered the phone when you call for assistance.

There were facilities available but too cold to use them

The rooms were freezing and the heating was inadequate. They expected us to pay extra for a gas heater . They ruined our afternoon trying to fix the air conditioner for 3 hours and didn’t succeed. Also the villa was advertised as delux but far from that due to basic bathrooms and the 3rd ‘room’ is a cupboard

I found it a bit expensive for the chalet we got. It was quite old and dated furniture so for 3k a night, it didn’t quite match the price. However, the stay overall was unique and lovely. Just the room I don’t think is worth the price.

The jacuzzi and the room esthetic was 10/10 , we enjoyed the activities

Everything was convenient and kid friendly. Animals were visible for the kids to enjoy.

Beautiful views and surroundings, variety of different pools (cold and hot) overall experience was lovely and the staff warm and welcoming.

The beds were super comfortable, fancy hotel like linen. The cabin sizes are good. The kids loved the heated pool, play parks. The restaurant on the premise is great too.

Our unit smelled like smoke, like crazy. We didn't use the fireplace at all due to the smell, but when we came back home all our clothing, bags, etc smelled like smoke. The unit was ice cold, and while the aircons turned on, they made no heat at all. We left one day early because we started coughing because of the smoke smell and the extreme cold in the house.

There is so much to do for kids. And the park is huge, the kids ride their bikes all day

Staying in the hotel room is always special - love the room with all the extras! It is close to main complex. The restaurant staff was very friendly and food was very tasty. Love the new Pickleball and paddle courts Jacuzzi was lovely. Housekeeping came out when requested. We loved the spa. The staff is always very friendly!

Putt-putt course - carpet is torn, one part was flooded. The room had no under floor heating - I would have asked for a different room if I knew. It was supposed to be a great treat for my daughter and it was disappointing. Online check in! Why? If I still have to queue and not get the room 1 minute before 15:00?? Why then give it as an option? Awful stench in and around the room. Again.... It was supposed to be a treat! Why is there a phone if reception can not be called from it? Just remove it then. Little things in the room - one night light could not be switched on because there is no switch. I was unsure how to get hold of someone on a Sunday evening.

Extremely expensive for what you get. First there was no rooibos tea in the room. We were then told to go buy our own. Then we are told we only get coffee and tea upon check not again for the rest of our stay (this was the hotel part not the self catering units). Then we get back Sunday afternoon to find our room was not cleaned. We are then told they don't clean on Sundays and we would need to pay R200 for a cleaning service on Sunday. Then we try and watch Netflix only to be told that there are too many people in the resort so the WiFi isn't strong enough for Netflix. All of this when we paid almost R3000 a night for two people in a hotel room.

The children’s playground needs to be updated . The trampoline and bicycles need to be replaced an accident waiting to happen on the bicycle. The activity room needs a lot more to be added the ball pool is a joke not many balls in the pit

We enjoyed the Restaurant and the view around the park was amazing, I love walking and this was the best place to do this, Our room was amazing on night one ( 2nd July )

Our first night was spent in Chalet 80, and it was beyond amazing. It was warm, cozy, comfortable, and we were absolutely loving our stay. We were enjoying every minute, and it felt like it was going to be the perfect getaway. Unfortunately, everything changed when we were told we had to move to Chalet 166 due to a booking mix-up between Booking.com and Magalies Park. This was completely out of our control, and we were extremely disappointed to have to move after such a wonderful first night. The difference between the two chalets was unbelievable. Chalet 166 was freezing cold and never warmed up from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The air conditioners only blew cold air, so we had to switch them off. Even when we went to bed, there was a constant cold breeze blowing directly onto our faces. This is simply not acceptable, especially during winter. How do you sleep comfortably when you have cold air blowing on you all night, let alone keep a 5-year-old warm? Our daughter was so cold that we discovered she had put on three pairs of socks to try to keep warm. It was heartbreaking to see her so uncomfortable during what was supposed to be a relaxing family holiday. What made the experience even more disappointing was the response we received at reception when we checked out. We reported the issue, but instead of addressing our concerns, we were told that it would be better to come back in summer, or to book directly with Magalies Park in future. That was not the response we expected after experiencing such poor accommodation conditions. This was our first visit to Magalies Park, and while the first part of our stay in Chalet 80 was exceptional, the second half completely overshadowed what should have been a memorable holiday. We chose this as a winter getaway from Johannesburg, expecting to be comfortable and enjoy our stay throughout. Sadly, we left feeling very disappointed. I sincerely hope the heating issues in Chalet 166 are investigated

We had a wonderful stay. The beautiful sunset over the dam was breathtaking. The facilities were excellent, and our room was beautifully decorated, and clean. We especially loved our own private jacuzzi and braai facilities at the unit, which made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable.

The room was lovely overall, but there were a few things that could be improved. The room would benefit from blackout curtains, as too much light came into the room during the nights, making it difficult to sleep. The bed was also a bit shorrt for us, and we found the mattress quite hard and not very comfortable. Addressing these issues would make the stay more enjoyable.

Lots of activities to do within the resort. The chalet was comfortable and had all amenities. Although the weather was freezing it was a relaxing breakaway.

The chalet main door did not lock properly. Had to lock it from inside using the metal lever above the door.

The accomodation is fairly nice and decor is relatively okay. Fireplace made the whole place smell like smoke but it makes for a nice atmosphere. Spacious with enough room. Underfloor heating in rooms are very nice.

The staff are all very unfriendly. Looks as if all of them have much better things to do. Spa is unpleasant. Some areas need maintenance. Bathrooms are very cold.

The lack of consistency regarding the students assisting at the lodge. Fred came out late they dont notify you when there are no kids activities or even update the board, also if you say the supertube opens at 2 pm remain consistent not when the youngster feels ready to startvworking as it looks like an issue when my kids ask.

We liked everything about the property. We liked our family room, spacious and had everything we needed. Kids entertainment was super- our kids wanted to extend the holiday. Restaurant has the best food. It was a lovely stay all around, we would definitely come back.

Nothing really, but if I have to mention something it would be the cleanliness especially in the Teen zone where there’s a games room. I would say regular cleaning is needed in that space. Also the bathrooms close to the heated pool.

Activities for the kids was the highlight. And course was great to play too.

I loved how when we checked in the room was decorated according to the occasion which was my birthday. That was really special! My partner really went all out for my birthday. Thelma was a great housekeeper! Francis was an exceptional waiter for my birthday dinner.

The room was lovely , activities are nice. Enjoyed the jacuzzi.

1. Paid for boat cruise but when we got there our names were not on the list - this was embarrassing (we had paid cash) , the captain was kind enough to understand. 2. The sewage smell was unpleasant , went inside the room as well

Wr came in early to fish...so My husband checked us in at 4pm and I was at the dam looking after our equipment...he said he wasn't to please with the service..he felt like a criminal asking for so many things after I did the online check in for quick key hand over. They even asked him to go fetch me to check us in. I got a call from someone and eventually he was giving the key after all the interrogation. He didn't know they had called me..so he was even more irritated when I told him they called. That was the only bad thing we experienced. Granted it is a security thing, so why not call me to confirm immediately when he got there?
