Wunderschöner Platz, sehr ruhig
We really enjoyed our stay at Yaye Guest House. Shantha is a genuinely kind and thoughtful host who clearly enjoys welcoming people into his home. He prepared very good meals and generously shared his knowledge about the garden, the plants and the many birds that can be seen around the property. Our child felt comfortable straight away. Shantha took the time to play in the garden and show him small things around the house, which made the stay extra special for us as a family. Yaye Guest House is a calm and friendly place, and staying here added a lot to our time in Tissamaharama. We would happily recommend it to others looking for a personal and authentic stay.
Shantha was the ultimate host! What a kind and generous guy. We used his place as a stop off point on a long cycle from Midigama and Arugam Bay. It was perfect and so was Shantha’s hospitality. From our arrival he treated us so well with juices and a coconut and then continued to all the way through to breakfast the next day. This included Shantha’s fantastic dinner that we had requested which was a delicious and perfectly cooked fish with rice and salad and his special Dhal curry. This place and Shamtha are a gem. The location gives you a real feeling for rural Sri Lanka with rice fields surrounding the property. Fantastic for walking and in our case cycling!
Nothing!
Klidná Oáza uprostřed rýžových polí, spoustu zvířat na pozorování, výborný hostitel.
Mohl by být více světla a čerstvého vzduchu na pokoji
This was our favourite place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Beautiful location amongst rice fields and nature, as well as being close to National Parks and the ocean! The rooms were clean and comfortable with nice seating outdoors to relax. Shantha, the host was such a legend! A real genuine guy who was great to talk to and to be around. He showed us so many different birds, wildlife and his plants in his garden. We decided to eat there both nights as the dinners that he cooked for us were delicious - fresh fish or calamari with salad or vegetables and rice. Cooked perfectly and even had a few Lion beers to go with it. He went out of his way to go and get some buffalo curd and coconut honey which was also delicious! Would really recommend this to everyone and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Chante is the best host and a very kind and lovely man. He showed us around the real nature of Sri Lanka. We were really lucky because we saw some birds, a waran and even a crocodile! He cooked the best fish for us. His garden with all the spices is very comfortable and relaxing. The room itself is good for the low budget price. Thank you for this nice stay!
Very nice and simple accommodation in the middle of nature. Great host who prepares delicious food in the evenings and mornings and teaches you a lot about nature and the animals that live there. If you are looking for some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you! A safari etc. can also be organized from there (Yala & Bundala Nationalpark are nearby) We can warmly recommend this accommodation!
The host is very welcoming and friendly, he has a beautiful and personal space with a garden. His cooking (especially the fish) was great! He also offers tours and was always available to help.
The property is ver clean, with AC and a very nice garden. The person who greet us was magnificient, attentive, nice and cooked dinner for us under request (he went buying as we made the booking last minute). The surroundings are nice. I do higly recommend it!!
The host was extremely friendly and welcoming. He provided us with dinner as well as breakfast. The room was sweet and simple with a good shower!

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay at Yaye. The setting is in the countryside with access to magical walks through rice paddies and farm land with opportunities to connect with friendly locals. Walks can take you all the way to seaside with many bird and water buffalo sightings. The accommodations at Yaye are modest, but adequate. The courtyard setting is beautiful and zen-like. The fish dinner prepared by host was one of the best meals we had while we were in Sri Lanka. Host was gracious and accommodating! Yaye for us was very memorable.
Yaye is still a developing tourist destination. Host is working hard to improve and open to suggestions. Location outside of Tissamaharama may discourage travelers, but please try if you seek a unique countryside experience full of friendly locals and eye-popping sights.
The host was excellent and spent time taking us out into the paddy fields to spot local wildlife including crocodiles, monitor lizards and local birds. He's also an amazing cook!
It is in a remote spot which was fantastic for us as it was great to be in nature. However, it's fairly easy to get a tuktuk there
Nice, small and friendly apartment, where you feel waited. Beautiful nature around.
This is one of the nicest home stay/guest house we have stayed in Sri Lanka. It’s very different, with rice fields around. The gardens are lovely & peaceful. The unit is very well presented and it a bit different. The host, Shantha is very obliging with food. We stayed there while doing a safari at Yala National Park & it was close enough to enjoy the surroundings. We highly recommend Yaye Guest House
Nothing it was very pleasant & peaceful
The guest house is great. Small and cozy. Super green around, it has jungle vibe to it. Highly recommended. We also had dinner here, which was super delicious srilankan food. Aircon in the room was powerful. The host was also super fun to hang out with. Only book this if you are going for a safari in Yala national park.
No lunch options here. No eateries around the property, bu t i think that is expected as its near to the national park.
The host was so warm and welcoming. He took us with him for a walk near his house to see crocodiles (we saw 3 crocodiles) he prepared amazing smoothies for us and showed all the little birds, bats and monkeys to us in his garden. And he all did that for free. He prepared diner for us with ingredients from his local farmers or his own garden, which tasted amazing. After one day we had to leave unfortunaltely for which we were both really sad since we really would like to have stayed longer. I cannot express in words how much I would recommend this place to anyone. I for sure would really like to come back here.
Everything was great.
Parking available for the Tuk-Tuk we rented. Nice owner, who cooked for us and organized a safari. He took us to a Buddhist monastery and drove around with us to show us some animals. AC in the room. Soap in bathroom. It was clean. Breakfast was tasty. The owner really tries hard for people to feel comfortable.
A bit out of the way, but not a problem as we had our own Tuk tuk. Don’t let this discourage you. The host is great and can help you organize everything. You could easily book transport on PickMe.
Very friendly owner. He cooked for us and showed us around the area He organized safari to Yala for us. Highly recommend this place
Here we found a great peaceful place between the rice fields. It's really close to Bundala National Park and we even visited the outside part with Shanta, our amazing host, who showed us a lot of wildlife close to the park and inside his garden. He cooked amazing food (breakfast, dinner and lunch)! The AC was working nice.
Rooms are clean. air conditioning works good, food was very fresh and delicious. the owner is a very warm person who made our stay to an unforgettable experience. nice garden
We LOVED our stay at the Yaye guesthouse. The garden and rooms are exactly like in the pictures. You are in a green oasis surrounded by rice fields. One room comes with AC the other one without. You get breakfast and dinner if you like. There are books, a hammock and lounge chairs for the garden. We even were satisfied with the bread :-) Wifi works perfect and you can book a safari right on the spot. But(!) you won't be sharing your jeep, it will be just you.
Nothing to complain just a side note: the guest house really is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fields and nature. If you are into that, you will love it, if you rather have a town close to you with shops and bars and restaurants maybe consider something else.
If you're looking for an authentic experience, this is the place to be! Located in the middle of the paddy field, you'll get a welcomed resort from traffic noise and urban pulse. The host will truly take care of you, and he cooks the most delicious meals! He will probably take you on a walk on the fields, looking for crocodiles, and chatting with local farmers. This gives so much more value than ordinary accommodations.
I should have booked the Yala safari from somewhere else, so I could have shared the jeep with others since I was travelling solo. If your top priority is comfort, then you should probably choose to stay somewhere else for a slightly higher price.
Yaye Guesthouse to us was an uxepected gem. Inmidst rice paddies and coconut trees and it is a perfect place to escape the hustle of the crowded tourist destinations. It has very nice garden and plenty of common area to hang out and relax and within one step you are out in nature and a small scale pristine rural neighbourhood. The room was comfy and the mattress great! Shanta is a very kind and caring host and knowledgeable throughout his garden and the area. He knows where to find crocodiles and what time the elefants are crossing the river to get to Bundala NP. Yaye Guesthouse offers a real and unique experience and be sure to start everyday with a proper and delicious Breakfast! :)

Cozy clean room, the dinner cooked by the owner was delicious.
nothing, we were very happy!
Santha is a passionate soul, he ensure the places is net, well maintained and the best being he is an amazing cook too. would recommend this to anyone planning for for Yala
So nice place to stay, the owner Shantha is such a great person. If you want to see local Sri Lankan life it’s a super address. On top of that Shantha is a great cooker if you want to try local fresh food. Shantha orginized as well our Safari to Yala National Park, amazing experience. Can only recommend
A beautiful garden, very comfortable room, secluded and private location, excellent host, but the absolute best thing was the food!
