Reviewed Sep 18, 2026Sehr nette Unterkunft, alles war super modern und schön. Die Besitzerin ist sehr höflich und bietet Hilfe bei Restaurantreservierungen an. Unser Zimmer war großzügig und wir haben hervorragend geschlafen! Das Badezimmer war groß genug für alle und sehr sauber. Es gab auch Snacks und Getränke zu erwerben in der kleinen Küchennische. Man konnte das Leitungswasser trinken.

Reviewed Sep 16, 2026Bellissima casa con un'area comune ampia con divani comodi e possibilità di prepararsi la colazione. C'è un frigorifero con acqua e bibite a disposizione con il prezzo indicato molto ragionevole. La camera ampia con due futon supercomodi, per noi che siamo arrivati in macchina abbiamo lasciato l'auto al parcheggio superiore di Magome e quindi abbiamo raggiunto la guesthouse in un attimo. La proprietaria parla un ottimo inglese e già prima del check-in ti invia tutte le informazioni necessarie per raggiungere Magome e soprattutto le indicazioni per i ristoranti disponibili perchè alcuni sono da prenotare almeno un giorno prima. La sera passeggiare lungo la via principale illuminata ma deserta ti trasmette una pace assoluta.
I bagni sono in comune, uno per femmine e uno per maschi però pulitissimi e due docce

Essendo una casa storica, porte e pavimenti scricchiolano un pochino, quindi si possono sentire gli altri ospiti, così come dalle pareti abbastanza sottili.

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026Die Lage war fantastisch. Im Gemeinsschaftsbereich hat man eine schöne Sicht auf die historisch nachgebauten Holzhäuser. Es gab jede Menge Geschirr und Besteck, um einfache Mahlzeiten zu essen. Die Zimmer sind sogar mit Sofa ausgestattet. Für uns durch den vergleichsweise niedrigen Preis ein Glücksgriff.
Die Lage in dem touristischen kleinen Dorf zahlt man beim Aufenthalt mit.

Les douches et toilettes sont impeccables et construites pour garder l’intimité de tous. La propriétaire est très dévouée. Nous avons adoré. ( N’oubliez pas de lui écrire pour qu’on vienne chercher vos bagages à l’arrivée, le chemin en pente est beaucoup plus agréable les mains vides) Nous sommes restés deux jours et c’était parfait. Après la marche jusqu’à Tsumago, un bus nous ramène facilement à notre hébergement. Un incontournable!
Oublier de demander que les bagages pouvaient être apportés pour nous 😂

The hill. Dragging bags up is a little difficult but they do offer luggage pick up services if you arrive closer to check in time.

The facility has a minimal modern decor, a self-service beverage and snack area and a common shared sitting area. The shared bathrooms were well maintained and equipped with everything. Mika was exceptional helpful in arranging our luggage to our next hotel outside of the area. We really enjoyed this little refuge for the night.

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026The location is wonderful. My family of 4 had to divide into 2 rooms, but it was not a big deal. Felt like staying in a house, in fact. The information they provided about breakfast and dinner options made everything very easy. It was very clean and the rooms had lovely views.
For those traveling with suitcases with rollers be be prepared for a steep climb up a road to get there. Totally worth it though!

Ci hanno accolto ancora prima dell’orario del check-in e abbiamo potuto lasciare le nostre valigie in camera. Ottima posizione per andare a fare la Nakasendo Rail. Ci siamo trovati benissimo, poter soggiornare la sera qua è magico. Consigliatissimo!

Didn't use the lounge, but the kitchen area was wonderful to sit at, enjoy at cup of tea and watch the street, the people and the fish in the pond. Only one power point in the room, next to the bottom bunk.

Reviewed May 26, 2026Excellent stay in a truly special guesthouse in the heart of Magome. The rooms and all common areas were perfect, spotless, and cared for in every detail. The welcome was extremely professional and well organized from check-in, with lots of useful information about the area and the Nakasendo Trail. We especially appreciated that the host spoke excellent English, which made everything easy and very pleasant. The guesthouse perfectly combines traditional Japanese charm with modern comfort, creating a very relaxing and authentic atmosphere. The common areas were also beautiful and very welcoming. The location is perfect, right in the historic center of Magome. Experiencing the atmosphere of the village in the evening, when everything becomes quiet and atmospheric, was truly magical and special. We really hope to come back in the future for a longer stay and to explore this amazing area more deeply, knowing we have already found a special place to stay.

The kitchen space was perfect and the room was very comfortable. Really appreciated Mika staying back late to allow me to check in after 7pm and for her dinner recommendations.

The spaces are great, good communal sitting area, good kitchen facilities (would recommend bringing things with you as there’s not much food purchasing places in Magome), and very comfortable stay! Les espaces communs sont chaleureux, et l’on a envie d’y rester (surtout lorsque la pluie tombe dehors 😅). Possibilité de réserver le restaurant pour le soir même en arrivant, car il n’y a aucun restaurant ouvert le soir dans le village. Accueil très agréable et chaleureux. Propreté irréprochable ! Recommandé sans modération :)

More at the trail end (so higher up), this guesthouse is close to the observatory where you can see an amazing view of the sunrise, sunset and stars at night! The guesthouse is cleaned daily, has local restaurant recommendations, and some food/drink options for yourself as needed. The host was amazing and very helpful (for all guests)! The hose is very communicative and ready to give local recommendations. You really only need to stay at this guesthouse for 1-2 days as you'll experience a lot of the Nakasendo within that timeframe.
