Reviewed Aug 31, 2026De kamer is prima qua grootte, er staat een kastje in en twee stoelen en een tafel. Erg prettig. Het matras lag prima en de airco deed het goed. Er is een klamboe aanwezig.
De waterdruk was enorm laag. Het lukte niet om het zand uit onze haren te wassen. Het beddengoed was dun en aan vervanging toe. De handdoek was zacht, maar voor m’n gevoel moest ik me afdrogen met een douchematje. Bij de douche zaten flinke spinnenwebben. We hebben gevraagd het schoon te maken, maar toen dat de volgende dag nog niet was gedaan, hebben we het uiteindelijk zelf maar gedaan. Die spin kan er zitten, maar de spinnenwebben zaten er duidelijk al een hele tijd. De laundry service was erg slecht. We hebben onze spullen bij elkaar moeten sprokkelen en toen we eenmaal alles hadden, zagen we dat er op sommige kledingstukken vlekken zaten die er eerder niet op zaten. Het lijken op vetvlekken. Ook thuis zijn ze niet uit de was gegaan. Ik zou de was ergens anders laten doen!

Room is very warm, fan does not help much. I think that the room used to have working AC as there is a machine on wall (no remote) but when I enquired with the host he said our room only had fan. Presume the AC requires a repair that has not been completed

The rooms had lots of insects and bugs compared to anywhere else I stayed in Sri Lanka, such as a really loud cricket (I think) under my bedframe and a large collection of ants. Was very basic. Ended up moving to a different hotel. I’m a backpacker and not very fussy at all so I was quite surprised. I think you can get better for your money and go for a clean basic accom for the same price.

The washroom could be a little cleaner. (The walls, the ceiling.) Generally it was ok.

Reviewed May 29, 2026Lokacija zelo blizu vseh trgovin, restavracij in plaže. Osebje je pomagalo, če smo kaj potrebovali.
Soba ni bila dovolj čista, ob prihodu v sobi komarji, po stenah pajčevina, mušice. Okno v kopalnici se ne da zapreti, kar ponoči privabi še več mrčesa, vonj pa zelo zatohel. Voda iz tuša zelo vroča, ni se dalo nastaviti na mrzlo. Postelja izjemno neudobna, vonj po zastarelem in dotrajanem tudi na rjuhah. Glede na visoko ocene nastanitve sem bila zelo razočarana.

Reviewed Sep 19, 2025The location is 1 minute walk from the beach and a LOT of possibilities to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. AC working well, the bedroom was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. There is a little table and chairs in the room which is really convenient.
Should give automatically new towel if you stay more than one night. There is no fridge but you can use the one of the owner at the reception, so it is fine.

The homeowners are truly lovely — caring, attentive, and always there if needed, yet never intrusive. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and at home. The owner even arranged for a trusted friend to pick me up from the airport — such a thoughtful gesture which I appreciate a lot! The shared terrace and patio are very nice for relaxing. The location is fantastic: the beach is just 2 minutes away, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. I felt so comfortable and welcomed throughout my stay - truly a place I would recommend to everyone! Thank you so much for everything!

La camera é semplice ma pulita e dotata di tutto cio che serve per un soggiorno al mare. Zanzariera per il letto ed aria condizionata presenti in camera. Posizione perfetta nel cuore di Uppuveli (bar e ristoranti) e meno di 3 minuti a piedi dal mare. Possibilita di fruire di un servizio di lavanderia.
Un piccolo frigorifero in camera farebbe comodo.

Reviewed Sep 9, 2025Preis/Leistung war hervorragend. schönes Zimmer mit gut verfliestem Bad (Wasser ist gut abgeflossen), Mückennetz und funktionierendee Klimaanlage. nur ein paar Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt. Lage außerdem ruhig und umgeben von vielen Restaurants. Anmerkung: Manche Restauranrs sind direkt am Strand und man kann dort bei normaler Konsumation kostenlos die Liegen benutzen (auch wenn die Prwise in diesen Rwstaurants höher sind), nette Gastgeber, billiger Wäscheservice (500 Rupien / kg), der einwandfeei funktionierte
vor den Zimmern im ersten Stock waren sehr viele Käfer, die auch in die Schuhe und trocknende Kleidung gekrochen sind - das wurde von mir bei der Abreise angemerkt, sodass sich die Gastgeber hoffentlich darum kümmern werden

We could do laundry at a very cheap price (500LKR per Kg), and the owners let us check out late: we had a boat trip the morning of our last day, and they let us keep the room and even shower after we came back before having to give our keys back!
In the room there were spiders and ants.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2025Hilton Cotttage is een mooi open en heel schoon huis op een goede levendige lokatie. We verbleven op de eerste verdieping, met drie ruime slaapkamers (met airco) naast elkaar gelegen. In de open ruimte is ook een zitje voor algemeen gebruik (fijn!). Aan het einde van de straat (waar kleine restaurantjes zijn) is al het strand. Onze kinderen vonden dit helemaal geweldig vanwege het wat meer ontwikkelde toerisme en de wat hippere restaurantjes op het strand. De eigenaren van het verblijf zijn heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Achteraan is een keukentje met drinkwater, waterkoker en wat keukengerei. En een terrasje. De mensen zijn super vriendelijk. Een keer reden ze me met hun tuktuk zomaar spontaan naar een winkeltje en terug. Echt lief. Ik vond het een heel aangenaam verblijf. We hadden een kamer met enkel een ventilator en geen airco maar het was voldoende. Geen last van de warmte gehad. Een aanrader. 🍀

Wir haben morgens ausgecheckt, durften unsere Sachen dort lassen, weil wir zum Schnorcheln sind und durften danach trotzdem nochmal in der Unterkunft duschen und uns frischmachen bevor wir abgefahren sind. Empfehlenswert :)

Vi følte oss veldig godt tatt imot fra første stund. I tillegg fikk vi mye for pengene; rommet var rent, komfortabelt og hadde alt vi trengte for et behagelig opphold. Beliggenheten var også perfekt som utgangspunkt for å utforske Trincomalee.
Ingenting – vi var strålende fornøyde med hele oppholdet.

It’s just about 50m to the beach, so the location is also ideal. There are also some nice restaurants nearby if you want to try something different. Overall, a great stay!

Reviewed Jun 19, 2025Simply wonderful! Absolutely perfect stay. Varun and his family are amazing hosts, so friendly and welcoming. They always have a smile and time for a conversation. Hope you can meet varun father also, he is lovely. The rooms are great. Spotless clean, quiet in a beautiful, and the WiFi works absolutely fine. For this price, definitely one of our top 2 accommodations in whole Sri Lanka so far.

It's a good option for those who plan to spend most of their time exploring and simply need a place to sleep and shower. If you're looking for a more luxurious experience, this might not be the right choice. The owners are wonderful people and made our stay comfortable and worth while .

Чисто, просторно, на кровати хороший матрас с правильной жесткостью, необходимая мебель, хороший душ с грамотным стоком воды, когда остальной пол остается сухим. Была возможность пользоваться небольшой кухней в которой стоял кулер с питьевой водой. Дом расположен в довольно оживленном месте, на момент проживания было много иностранных туристов. Но в номере относительно тихо. Пляж отличный. Хозяева дома очень гостеприимны и видно как они уделяют время чистоте и порядку.

Чистота в номере и на этажах, свежий ремонт, новый кондиционер отлично работает, удобная кровать, новое постельное белье, горячая вода и отличный интернет! По ночам тишина. Есть кухня, газ, и вся необходимая посуда. На кухне всегда чисто! Хозяйка дома просто великолепна! 🌺 Расположение отеля в самом центре поселка, в 3 мин от пляжа, в шаге от кафе и стоянки тук-туков, и в 2 шагах от магазина.
Нужны адаптеры в розетки.
