Our stay at this beautiful place was truly unforgettable. My 14-year-old son and I had the most wonderful time here. From the very moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed and cared for. The owners were absolutely wonderful — warm, kind, genuine and incredibly hospitable. They made us feel less like guests and more like part of a little family. I left a huge piece of my heart in this place, but I took away a dozen beautiful memories that I will treasure for a very long time. There was something truly special about the atmosphere, the people and the feeling this place gave us. It is rare to find somewhere that leaves such a lasting impression, but this place truly did. My son and I will remember our time here with enormous warmth and gratitude. If you are looking for a place where you can feel at home, be surrounded by wonderful people and create memories that stay with you long after you leave, I wholeheartedly recommend staying here. A truly special place, made even more special by the beautiful people who run it. We would love to come back one day. ❤️

De mensen waren ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De accomodatie heeft een prachtig uitzicht en zit op loopafstand van het centrum met heel veel leuke restaurantjes en winkeltjes. De kamer zag er netjes en schoon uit en had een goed bed.

The accommodation has a very beautiful view of the mountains, the hosts are extremely kind and helpful, the rooms are excellent and it's quiet at night. We can really recommend!

It can be a little scary to walk back at night since it's a 15min walk from the main road in Ella.

V at Ella This charming guesthouse, 5 min tuk tuk from main street, was the perfect stay for 2 days. The room was clean and spacious with tea/coffee facilities, comfy bed and warm shower. Excellent breakfast on the terrace with views of Adam's Peak - fresh fruit, Sri Lankan delights and eggs and toast! Andy and his family were welcoming, kind and helpful. Andy took us into town in his tuk tuk for a reasonable price, and told us to message him for a ride back when we were ready. We also did a tuk tuk tour with Andy to 9 Arches Bridge and tea plantation. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this guesthouse for a memorable experience.

Ruhige Lage mit wunderschöner Aussicht und total nettes und bemühtes Personal. So leckeres Frühstück, welches jeden Tag etwas anderes/neues bot. Sogar ein kleiner Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Fußweg ins Zentrum ca. 10 Minuten (mit guter Beschreibung einer Abkürzung an den Schienen entlang)

Wir haben uns sehr wohl in Ella gefühlt. Die Unterkunft war sehr gut, ein atemberaumbender Blick über die Berge und das grüne Tal von Ella. Die Gastgeber haben sich rührend um uns gekümmert und wir hatten ein sehr gutes Frühstück. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abseits von dem Trubel der Innenstadt, somit sehr ruhig, jedoch nach 15 min zu Fuß ist man in der Stadt. Mit dem Gastgeber hatten wir auch einen hervorragenden Guide, der uns die Umgebung, die Teefabrik und auch die Tempel in der Nähe mit seinem Tuk Tuk zeigte. Es waren sehr schöne Tage in Ella, ... sehr zu empfehlen.

Great view, very nice and spacious room, amazing tea and breakfast - we really love to stay here. One small advice is if you decide to walk up here, ask the host for the shortcut, it's a lot easier than walk up hill.

We had a wonderful stay of two nights at this lovely accommodation in Ella. The rooms are very cute, spotlessly clean, and have a beautiful view. We especially loved the little veranda in front of our room, where we could enjoy our breakfast in the morning. With only three rooms, the place has a very personal and family-like atmosphere, which made our stay feel even more special. The owner and his father are truly wonderful people – incredibly kind, welcoming, attentive, and always happy to help. We also really appreciated the tuk-tuk service. For a small fee, they can take you into town or to nearby attractions whenever you need, and you can simply message Andy whenever you need a ride back. This made exploring Ella very easy and convenient. The breakfast is simple but absolutely delicious and has everything you need for a good start to the day. We also loved the mosquito nets around the beds, which were a thoughtful and practical touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Ella and would happily stay here again!

We stayed 4 nights at V@Ella guesthouse, the room was clean and comfortable. We didnt have any insects, frogs, gekko inside during our whole stay like we had at other places during our trip in Sri Lanka. The breakfast was good and the hosts were very welcoming and helped us with tips to enjoy our stay. All touristic attractions are close enough. The view is magnificent from the hostel. I highly recommend it.

Descriveremmo il soggiorno qui come perfetto: il posto è bellissimo e lontano dal caos della via centrale, che può comunque essere raggiunto facilmente a piedi. Tutte le stanze hanno una stupenda vista sulla montagna, il letto è comodissimo, la colazione è ottima e abbondante. Ma la vera differenza l'hanno fatta le persone: il proprietario è stato presente e sempre disponibile, mettendo a disposizione il suo tuk tuk per gli spostamenti (una vera comodità partire dalla struttura), e non si è limitato a guidare, ma ci ha fatto da guida spiegandoci tutte le bellezze del suo paese. Insieme a lui abbiamo conosciuto il suo papà, gentile e rispettoso, mai invadente, ma anzi se ci incontrava in giro per la città non perdeva occasione per salutarci, e nonostante la barriera linguista ha sempre trovato il modo di informarsi sul nostro viaggio. Lasciamo un pezzettino di cuore qui, grazie di tutto!

Our hosts were absolutely lovely and the property itself exceeded our expectations. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was incredible, the views were amazing and the whole property spotless. The perfect little spot, just a short walk from town which made it very peaceful

Die Unterkunft befindet sich etwas oberhalb von Ella City und hat einen wundervollen Ausblick. Die Zimmer sind super sauber und gemütlich, sodass man sich sehr wohl fühlt. Ella City ist über einen kurzen Fußmarsch der einfach zu erreichen. Die Gastgeber sind unfassbar herzlich und kümmern sich gut um einen, so hab es zur Ankunft direkt einen Tee auf der Terrasse und bei Abreise einen frischen Saft. Absolute Herzensempfehlung!

The views from the property are outstanding , the complimentary breakfast was so yummy and all the staff were so welcoming and helpful, the rooms were very clean, and even though we were high up in the mountains, i never saw any flies in my room - plus they have a mosquito net. They also have a tuktuk which you can pay for rides! They were very accommodating and helpful! There is also a shortcut to town so it is only a 10 minute walk which they will show you.

Le personnel est accueillant et adorable. Ils sont aux petits soins. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux et copieux. Le gérant peut vous conduire avec son tuktuk, il nous a cherché à la gare. Les logements sont propres et fonctionnels, de l’eau chaude dans la douche et un frigo + bouilloire dans la chambre. Le lieu est calme avec une jolie vue. Je recommande à 100% !

Die Lage ist wunderschön im Grünen mit Sicht auf den Ella Rock. Das Zimmer ist zweckmässig eingerichtet. Bequemes Bett mit Moskitonetz. Keine Klimaanlage, aber das ist in dieser Höhe meist auch nicht nötig. Auf den nahen Zuggeleisen kann man bequem ins Dorf spazieren. Leckeres Sri Lankisches Frühstück und herzliche Gastgeber.

Very well located - close to the city centre with shortcut across the tracks. Andy the owner was always on hand and gave us local recommendations and pathways to do all the activities Ella had to offer. Very nice views out the rooms.

The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful and courteous.

The location was remote and was not close to the centre of town as described. I think more details should be mentioned as regards remoteness and the shortcut to the main road was not a proper path.

We had a wonderful stay at V Ella Guesthouse. The location was perfect, within walking distance of the center of Ella, yet surrounded by beautiful nature and peace. The views were absolutely amazing, with stunning sights of both Adam's Peak and Little Adam's Peak. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. They really took the time to think along with us about our travel planning and gave great advice for our stay in Ella. The breakfast was delicious, especially the fresh fruit smoothie every morning. The room was clean and comfortable! We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

It is beautiful and calm place with amazing view. Close to the city centre. The room is spacious and clean, breakfast really tasty.

The fan are really loud, our neighbor use it all night, so we hear the fan no nature sounds.

Very sweet guesthouse with a lovely family, where I stayed for 3 nights. Great breakfast. Location is about a 15 min walk out of town which I didn’t mind, felt safe walking home at night and was up early doing hikes.

Could provide more water as I was quite aware that I could run out and there might not be anyone around to provide some.

Rustige locatie, 10’ lopen langs spoorlijn naar de stad. Heerlijk ontbijt, wakker worden met het vogelgezang ! Eigenaars zijn super aardig.

Très chouette logement avec une belle vue sur Ella rock et le Little Adam's Peak. Andy notre hôte était vraiment au petit soin le petit déjeuner etait très bon et très copieux Ce logement esten pleine nature et il est calme et très agréable. And a un Tuctuc et peu vous amener à divers endroits

Le logement est un peu excentré de Ella, la ville étant très animée le soir, au moins nous etions au calme.

Super logement dans les hauteurs de Ella, avec une vue spectaculaire. Le logement est très propre et hôte super accueillant. Andy nous as accompagné avec son tuktuk pour visiter la ville. Le rapport qualité/prix est super pour faire Ella, je vous recommande à 1000% ce lieu.

A gem of an homestay with stunning views of Ella rock and Little Adam's peak. The room was immaculate with outside seating area to enjoy the views and wildlife. Andy and his family were so helpful. Breakfast was delicious leaving you energised for the day. They made us feel part of the family and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We decided to have an evening meal cooked for us by Andy's wife which was delicious and beyond our expectations. It was more of a banquet. The location is in a quiet area only a 10 min walk to the Main Street. Andy provides you with short cut which takes you across the rail way lines which makes the journey to town interesting. Andy also provides a reasonably priced Tuk Tuk service. We cannot recommend this homestay enough.

Alles war perfekt! Das Zimmer super extrem sauber & schön, die Lage im Grünen mit toller View und trotzdem in 10min. im Zentrum, die Hosts extrem zuvorkommend! Das Frühstück war auch sooooo lecker & vielseitig! Ich hätte gerne verlängert, das Guesthouse war aber bereits vollständig ausgebucht.

We loved our time here! The room is big and has a beautiful view on Ella Rock and Little Adam's peak. The owners are very friendly and communicative. Also the breakfast on the terrace is wonderful.

Excellent home stay just outside Ella but within easy walking distance to town. Andy and family are so kind and helpful. We had a lovely stay watching birds and monkeys from the balcony with a beautiful view. Andy also took us on a great day trip to the attractions around town. Highly recommended!

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück auf der eigenen Terrasse mit super schönem Ausblick war sehr gut. Sehr ruhig gelegen.

Das Hotel war etwas weit vom Zentrum entfernt. Doch mit dem TukTuk schnell zu erreichen.

A beautiful homestay in the mountains with a stunning view. The room was immaculate and provided water, kettle and tea/coffee. The 3 rooms available have a seating area outside each room which allows you to enjoy the spectacular scenery and wildlife too. Andy and his family are wonderful hosts and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Andy has a tuk tuk which you can pay him to take you to the surrounding beauty spots. I used this service to take me to Little Adam’s peak where he waited and brought me back and to drop me to the walking route for Nine Arches. The short cut into town along the train track is also very near by. If you want to be surrounded by beauty and away from the hustle and bustle of town then this is a perfect spot.

Amazing place to stay in Ella!

The place is very nice and in a great location with amazing views. It's a bit further from the city noise, but there are good restaurants nearby and you can still walk everywhere. Breakfast was amazing, with great views and monkeys and birds all around. The host, Andy, is very nice and kind and a genuinely good human being. I really enjoyed my stay there

We stayed here with our family and had a wonderful experience. The place was very clean and offered a beautiful view of the mountains. The environment was calm and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing stay. The hosts, a lovely couple, were extremely kind and helpful, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Alles war super. Extrem nette und freundliche Gastgeber, die zur jeder Uhrzeit hilfsbereit waren. Leckeres Frühstück und als wir an unserem letzten Morgen keine Zeit mehr fürs Frühstück hatten, haben sie uns sogar welches mitgegeben. Wirklich sehr aufmerksame Leute. Die Aussicht war atemberaubend schön und wir würden es jedem weiterempfehlen. Wir würden immer wieder kommen.

Situated in an ideal location and with spectacular views. The owner showed us a shortcut into town as it is very hilly around Ella which saved us time. Its location made it easy for us to walk to the nine arches bridge and little Adam’s peak via the town where there were many food options and shops. We took the early train from Ella to Kandy and the owner gave us breakfast to go so we were able to eat which was very kind.

We spent 4 nights here and absolutely loved it! The view from the balcony was incredible and had a great sense of privacy. Everyday the breakfast was different and equally good and allowed us to eat different authentic Sri Lankan foods. The family were lovely and even did our laundry (for a small added fee) and drove us around Ella. Definitely recommend and a short walk (few hills) to the main town and railway towards Ella’s rock!

Leuke geschakelde bungalow, schoon en netjes ingericht. Zeer vriendelijke eigenaren. Goed, afwisselend en uitgebreid ontbijt. In 10 minuten lopen naar de hoofdstraat, dus supergoede ligging.

The property was in a great spot with a fabulous view! The walk into the Main Street was about 10 minutes, cutting through the train line. This guesthouse is run by Andy, wife and his parents who were a great help for our day to day activities.

Everything at V@Ella was wonderful! The room was very comfortable and well-equipped with smart details for travelers. The terrace was the perfect spot for an amazing breakfast each morning, overlooking the picturesque valley. Andy and his family are so accommodating and helpful with any questions we had and gave insightful tips regarding getting around and local attractions. They go above and beyond with their kindness.

We loved this place and the family who owns it is super nice and friendly. The guesthouse is located in quite area with a beautiful viel over the valley and just 10-15 minutes walking distance to the Main Street which is perfect. Also the local breakfast was perfect to start the day.

The guest house rooms are very clean, tidy and standard size, stuff (Owner couple) services were amazing, they are very cooperative and helpful, fast wifi internet.

Andy and his family are lovely hosts, they took great care of us and made us feel at home. On the day of arrival they messaged us to ask if we'd like to have dinner and I'm glad we did, It was delicious! Rooms have a small balcony with a good view of the mountains.

We liked everything

Firstly, the shower is awesome, the best I've used since I arrived in Sri Lanka three months ago. Great water pressure and HOT water. The wi-fi is also excellent, if that's important to you. These two things really stood out for me, but beyond this, the room was new and clean and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. There's also a stunning view of the mountains to enjoy when you sit outside. The location is nice, convenient to town without being right in the noisy bustle.

For me, too many starchy carbs at breakfast. I could have done without the toast and rice and enjoyed more fruit instead. The pillows on my bed were definitely for side sleepers: they were a bit hard and didn't compress much.

The older man running the place was absolutely wonderful, stopping by for a chat each morning as he brought breakfast. There are only 3 rooms here I think, and it’s lovely and peaceful, about a 5 min walk from the edge of the town (the shortcut on the train tracks cuts down the walk along the main road by about 15 mins!). Ella main town seems quite loud and touristy, so being tucked back behind that with a view over the mountains was the perfect respite. Perfect location to walk to the 9 arched bridge, Little Adams Peak, and Ella Rock.

Nothing, the stay was perfect. It is quite a humid region, so aircon would have been nice just to take some moisture out of the room, but the fan did a good job of keeping the airflow.

Frequent power cuts and wifi wasn’t very good

Beautiful spot, overlooking the mountains. We would see wildlife whilst eating our breakfast. The location was perfect for us as it was a bit out off the busyness of Ella but a 10 minute walk if you follow the railways. Andy was very attentive and friendly. He even offered a take away breakfast when we had to leave early on our last day. The room doesn’t have AC but it didn’t bother us at all with the climate in the mountains.

We did not know that the location was difficult to reach by car. It would have been useful to know, before arrival, that the last 800 meter should be done by tuk-tuk

There are only three rooms at this guesthouse. It’s in a quiet and safe spot. Andy and his Dad were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and the view each morning were the highlight. There are no restaurants nearby so we found the 10 minute walk into town became quite tiring when doing it multiple times a day (lunch and dinner). The rooms could be modernized a bit too. If we had our time again we would have spent a bit more to be closer to the Main Street.

The family who run the home stay were the highlight of our stay, they are really friendly and accommodating. The views from the rooms are amazing nestled between little Adams peak and Ella rock. The room is very clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast provided each morning.

It is situated on a hill however the family let us know a shortcut into town which took less than 10 minutes by foot.

We loved everything

This is the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka. The owner and his family are so incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. Our train was 3 hours late and we arrived at 10pm, he picked us up from the train station. Communication via WhatsApp worked perfectly. This is one of those accommodations that you never forget...

Lovely room. Very peaceful. Beautiful views. Delightful & extremely helpful staff! A very nice breakfast was served outside on your patio. I would recommend a stay here . Ella gets extremely hot and the staff suggested we use the pool at Mountain View Hotel , just a short distance away. A member of staff kindly dropped us off there & picked us up in the Tut tut. Cost was 2000 rupees pp for 2 hours.

For me the pillow was too hard, a personal choice.

A very nice home stay run by a young family. Very friendly hosts. Room comfortable and the patio beautiful with an amazing view of the mountains. Lovely tea as a welcome. A yummy breakfast was served on the patio. The young owner also takes guests to see the sights with his tuktuk if you like. It seems a bit far away from the town center but there is a short cut that takes you downtown in 10 walking minutes. A very pleasant stay!
