Nine Arch Gap

Super fijne kamers met een fantastisch uitzicht. Bedden waren goed en ook de douche en uiteraard een airco. Ook een lekker ontbijt elke ochtend. Eigenaren waren ook erg vriendelijk.

Helaas geen mogelijkheid tot lunch of avondeten en eetgelegenheden zijn best ver lopen. Ook ligt het verblijf op een heuvel waar je een stijl pad moet belopen of rijden. Wij waren met de tuk tuk en dit is wel even een spannend stukje. Dus qua bereikbaarheid niet helemaal optimaal.

Beautiful Mountain View from the room and served a great breakfast each morning. The host was very kind and helped us organise any tuk tuk’s, taxis and recommendations for Ella we needed. The hotel is walking distance to both Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adams Peak. The bedroom was lovely and well-equipped and had two very comfortable sofa seats looking out the view. Overall would highly recommend for a stay in Ella with great views and comfort.

A little noisy building work going on in the daytime. For the views to be so amazing, the hotel is high up so you need a tuk tuk to get into the town or taxi for the tea factory’s and temples, which isn’t a bad thing but worth knowing for future guests. We didn’t realise that they only accepted cash payments when you pay at check-out too. Also no conditioner in the showers.

The view from this place was insane, the photos don’t do it justice! The room was clean, the staff were lovely, the breakfast was amazing! Location was amazing for what we wanted to do (walk down to nine arch bridge), nearby cafes with a view over the bridge, and easy enough walk down, plus walkable from little Adam’s peak and the adventure park.

We didn’t have any hot water the night we stayed, due to an issue with the pipes but that was explained to us upon check in. Location is gorgeous for the views, but a tuktuk ride from town.

Great location with amazing views above Nine Arch Bridge. Host and staff were amazing and very friendly. Recommend if you don’t mind being just outside the centre of Ella.

Хозяева были очень гостеприимные, отвечали на все вопросы, готовы были помочь и подсказать с любой ситуацией. При заселении нас угостили welcome drink, несмотря на то, что заселились мы достаточно поздно. Номер был как на фото, все чисто и убрано, завтраки были шикарные, нам очень понравилось. С нашего балкона был вид на арочный мост.

Locatia este foarte frumoasa. Camera a fost foarte mare si curata, iar paturile confortabile. De asemenea, gazda a fost foarte buna, iar micul dejun gatit a fost excelent.

The view from the room and balcony was phenomenal. Plenty of food provided at breakfast. Clean modern room. Owners were helpful with location of places of interest.

Shower needed to be run for 10 mins before hot water arrived. Lodge is not located in walking distance to main dining area, a tuk tuk is needed. However if located in a different area you wouldn't have the view. Up very step hills make sure you are fit!

It was cold in the room. The floor was freezing and there were no carpets or slippers. On a rainy day the visibility was zero, so I got no view at all. Besides my window was overlooking a big palm tree crown so I didn’t see anything but that tree.

Very friendly staff and beautiful view. At breakfast we saw monkeys also doing their breakfast.

Spacious modern rooms with an incredible view from the balcony overlooking the hills of Ella. Great breakfast brought to your room and only a short walk to Ella town.

Очень понравилось расположение! На самой вершине холма, очень красивый вид открывается! В номере панорамные окна, у нас был свой балкон, туда вам персонально подают завтрак. Но мы там завтракали только один раз. Один день был дождь, в другой очень сильный ветер и там было некомфортно. Имейте в виду, нужно будет ходить в горочку 😂 или кататься на тук-туке. До девятиарочного моста пешком дошли минут за 10-15. До вершины малого пика Адама от отеля дошли пешком за час с небольшим.

Не знаю, это нам не повело с погодой или в этом регионе так всегда. В номере было ооочень сыро, на шторах есть плесень 😢 Ночью спать было холодно, в номере нет одеяла, тонкая простынь и синтетический плед. Благо с собой были шерстяные носки и термобельё, это спасло ситуацию.

Comfortable bed. Beautiful view of the mountain. Good breakfast prepared non-dairy for us. We appreciated this. We ate inside on our laps on the couch as it was raining on the balcony on breakfast table. Staff were eager to help.

Bathroom very basic and badly plumbed. Very little water pressure in the shower, No hand towel or bath mat and toilet seat broken. No power points beside the bed. No welcome. Manager did not acknowledge us until I spoke to her, although she had good English. Check-in done on our bed. Staff had no English but we're eager to help. Checkout was done outside. Most hotels in Sri Lanka have been much more welcoming.

The views from the rooms down to Nine Arch Gap were good which meant it was a trek or tuktuk downhill into town.

The room would have benefited from storage / hanging space

Staff were great. View was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious & served on the balcony overlooking the bridge. Bed was very comfortable. Overall great stay & would recommend.

Only negative thing to say was the fan was on a 60 minute timer which is not great at night. Woke up a couple of times & had to switch fantastic back on.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Nine Arch Gap, the hosts are friendly, welcoming and helpful and we loved meeting and playing with their dog Niki! The view from the property is relaxing, to watch the trains go by at breakfast and throughout the day. You are close to the walk to the bridge as well, although the property is a short drive or 30 min walk from Ella town centre. The hosts however arranged a tuk tuk for us on many occasions, so getting about was no problem. We even messaged one afternoon about a lift from town to a waterfall, and they came and picked us up promptly and then took us back after for a reasonable price. The host is very honest, afterwards she came to us saying they had overcharged us for the ride and refunded us with the correct fee. Thank you for a brilliant stay!

The location and the view make this a stand out!

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They have a lovely dog. The house is located up on a hill, which can be a bit difficult to walk up, but you can always order a tuk-tuk. Breakfast on the balcony was great, and the view was stunning

Aussicht war super und das Frühstück wurde auf das Zimmer/Balkon serviert. Sauberkeit auch gut.

Badezimmer mit Dusche ohne Vorhang/Trennwand führt immer zu einem nassen Boden und damit wird alles nass wo man hingeht. In einem Hotel sollte das Zimmer jeden Tag gemacht werden, das war nicht der fall.

Výhled, který tvoří 85% ceny fakt stojí za to. Snídaně byly velmi dobré a personál velice vstřícný.

Opravdu platíte akorát za výhled, takže nečekejte žádný luxus co se týká vybavení pokoje.

La localización era espectacular, las habitaciones tenían unas vistas maravillosas. Se veía a lo lejos el Nine Arch Bridge y por un camino de unos 15 minutos se llegaba a el. La cama cómoda. El personal encantador, sobre todo Sanju, intenta agradarte todo el rato. El desayuno muy completo. El baño sin más. Yo no lo llamaria hotel, no tiene zonas comunes y se desayuna en la terraza de cada habitación, eso si, con unas vistas maravillosas.

Como en algunos "hoteles" en Sri Lanka, el champu, gel.... son unos botecitos enanos que van rellenando. Las toallas eran pequeñas y antiguas. Para lo que estamos pagando en este viaje me pareció caro, es verdad que esta en Ella que es más turístico y que las vistas son espectaculares.

The breakfast with the mountain view was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotels location is perfect, a short walk from both Little Adams peak and the nine arch bridge.

The view is incredible! We spent many peaceful hours on the balcony. Our hosts were warm and lovely and couldn’t do enough to help.

Aclaro que no se ven más que dos arcos del puente, desde la terraza de habitación. Si bien es cierto que bajando desde el hotel estás a 5 minutos del puente de 9 arcos. Retirado de la carretera principal necesitarás tuc tuc si o si si vas al centro. Pago solo en metálico. Las habitaciones son acristaladas y si hace mucho calor ese día la habitación te la encuentras muy caliente a tu regreso. Tiene ventilador pero no aire acondicionado. Para mí eso es un fallo por lo expuesto arriba.

La posizione è molto scomoda,lontana da ogni servizio. Non è possibile richiedere pasti extra alla colazione neanche pagando. Il bagno si allaga ogni volta che si fa la doccia,tanto che è dotato di una scopa per veicolare l’acqua nel debole scarico. Cosa più importante che qui su Booking non è segnalata, gli host accettano solo pagamento in contanti,ci sarebbe piaciuto saperlo prima.

The view from the room is one of the best in the world. Absolutely stunning. The breakfast in the morning on your own balcony is a touch of luxury and the staff who run Nine Arch Gap are attentive, friendly and very kind.

It is a ‘homestay’ type of accommodation and is expensive compared to other similar accommodation in the rest of Sri Lanka. But of course, you have the incredible view. The budget room shows a photo of a couple on a balcony with the view. The budget rooms do not have this view and thus, some of the photos do not accurately reflect what you are paying for. You can only pay in cash which wasn’t well communicated.

Está localizado en una zona a la que no pueden acceder los coches, solo moto o tuktuk. Las vistas eran muy chulas, pero al ser todo cristalera entraba un calor brutal. Se estaba mejor fuera en la calle que dentro en cuanto a temperatura. Relación calidad/precio regular, 80 dólares la noche y que no haya aire acondicionado ni piscina es algo caro.

Goeie locatie, op 600 meter van de nine arch bridge (wel een stevige klim) en kamers die uitkijken op de bridge en omgeving, wat prachtig is. De eigenaar regelde ook het vervoer s avonds nr het restaurant en het ontbijt op eigen terras is geweldig. Aanrader, superlieve mensen!

La vista dalla camera è meravigliosa, noi eravamo nella camera con vista direttamente sul ponte e abbiamo visto il treno passare tre volte direttamente sul nostro balcone. La camera è grande e pulita,. così come il bagno. Anche la colazione che servono è molto ricca.

È leggermente lontana dal centro, bisogna necessariamente muoversi con il driver o con il tuk tuk.

Fantastische ligging met uitzicht op Nine Arch Bridge. Heerlijk ontbijt op eigen balkon, steeds wisselend. Super aardige eigenaren met lieve hond. Ligging iets buiten het drukke centrum maar goed aan te lopen.

Above all, the location – overlooking the tea hills, surrounded by peace and greenery. The rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The balcony overlooking the sunrise – a dream! The service – simply world-class. The staff were polite, helpful, and always smiling. We felt truly cared for. The breakfasts were delicious – fresh fruit, local dishes, and aromatic tea from the surrounding plantations. An additional plus for the eco-friendly approach – the hotel reduces plastic use, cares about the environment, and supports the local community. This is appreciated! The location was amazing with superb views overlooking Nine Arch bridge. Both dinner and breakfast were served on our balcony and totally delicious. Our hosts were super friendly and very accommodating as we arrived super late on our first day.

A little expensive considering what is offered (in comparison to other hotels in Sri Lanka) The hotel is a bit off the main road. Larger Vehicles may not be able to access, so TukTuk might be needed.

Incredible view from this lovely boutique hotel on top of a large hill. It feels like being in a luxury large treehouse. The service was excellent and went above and beyond to give us a great experience! Nice touch was getting breakfast served on our private balcony.

Amazing balcony to our room, there is gorgeous views from the bedrooms and to have your own private balcony overlooking nine arch gap and the surrounding area is spectacular. A lovely breakfast is brought to your balcony each morning, staff are really nice, would highly recommend.

Pokój 1 bardzo brudno i śmierdzi. Najgorszy hotel w którym spaliśmy na sri lance. Brudno, bez klimatyzacji. Śmierdzi stęchlizną. Woda gorąca pod prysznicem nie było zimnej.. ręcznik śmierdział jakaś ropą. Z sufitu spadają zdechłe mrówki na łóżko. Kierowałam się lokalizacja ze jest blisko mostu, ale już na miejscu wiem ze w Ella wszystko jest blisko wiec bez problemu można pójść spacerem. Nie polecam. Mój najgorszy wybór.

Die Familie ist super lieb und war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man hat einen tollen Blick ins Tal und das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker. Das Apartment ist allerdings sehr alt und die Einrichtung sehr in die Jahre gekommen und es hat auch sehr unangenehm gerochen. Für 70 Euro pro Nacht hätten wir mehr Komfort erwartet. Wir haben sauberere und schönere Unterkünfte für wesentlich weniger Geld in Sri Lanka bekommen. Wir hatten aber auch generell das Gefühl in Ella immer etwas abgezockt zu werden. Das liegt hier nicht an der netten Familie. An der Küste sieht das alles anders aus.
