Everything was super good, an optimal and quiet position. , very nice breakfast. A big thanks to Phuong and her family for being very helpful with everything and very kind, not just because you are a tourist, but it's their nautural attitude. I will definitely come back!

Phuong m’a très bien accueilli! Elle m’a donné des bons endroits où aller manger, elle m’a aidé pour organiser mon séjour, elles toujours à disposition et nous met très à l’aise. L’établissement n’est pas au centre ville et c’est bien plus calme, c’est néanmoins pas loins du centre , entre 20 minutes ou plus selon où on veut aller. Je recommande vraiment cet endroit!

Au Viet Nam on est souvent accueilli comme des rois, mais ici on est des empereurs ! La famille qui tient le homestay est d'une gentillesse rarement égalé. Les chambres sont simples, mais elles disposent de tout ce dont on a besoin. La vue sur le lac est apaisante, et on est pas si loin de tout, tout en étant au calme. C'était très bien, on est ravi !

C'est globalement dur d'avoir des points à redire, mais si je devais noter quelques petits détails : - les serviettes qui ne sont pas terrible car elles essuient mal, - les oreillers qui mériteraient d'être changé car ils ont eu du passage... Des détails, parce que le reste est génial.

The hostess is a direct but very kind and helpful person. She booked us a boat tour for Ha long Bay and Lan ha bay directly in the Homestay and helped us with the transfer to the National parc as well as to Hanoi. The food was amazing and we had a great time on Cat Ba

La anfitriona Pi y su marido son un encanto de personas. El entorno natural es idílico, con un bonito lago entre grandes montañas repletas de vegetación. Por otro lado, nos ayudaron muchísimo con planear la excursión a Halong Bay, con el transporte a los dos días a Ninh Binh y se encargaron de todo, también de traernos una moto el mismo día de llegada. Todo de lo más cómodo y acogedor. A su vez está muy cerca del centro, y suficientemente alejado del bullicio de la ciudad, en conclusión, una opción excepcional 🤗

I had such a wonderful time at CornerCatBa. As a solo traveler, I felt incredibly well taken care of. The owner is so thoughtful and gave me so many great recommendations for hiking, beaches, restaurants, and cafes. She even checked in on me during my hikes to make sure I was safe. I have been also introduced to other guests, which led to some beautiful memories. The breakfast she prepares is excellent—it’s local, delicious, and the perfect start to the day. Highly recommended!

L’atenció de la Pee és fantàstica. Es molt agradable, propera i en tot moment s’ha interessat per nosaltres i ens ha ajudat amb tot (activitats, lloguer de moto, bitllets de tren…). La ubicació és excel•lent, a prop de tot però en un ambient tranquil i natural.

Eine sehr angenehme Unterkunft, ruhig gelegen. Man kann sich dort einen Scooter ausleihen. Wäscheservice auch möglich. Das Zentrum ist ein Stück entfernt, mit dem Scooter kein Problem. Es sind aber Straßen mit Restaurants, Lebensmittelgeschäften fußläufig in unmittelbarer Nähe. Sehr leckeres Frühstück. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber.

We had a beautiful stay at Corner Catba. The room was very comfortable and the view was amazing, right in front of the lake and the mountains. Such a peaceful place. Puong was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful during our whole stay. She helped us with everything, gave us great recommendations, and always made sure we were comfortable. Her English is very good, which made everything easy. Her son is adorable, and the whole family made us feel very welcome. They are all such warm and lovely people. We really recommend staying here if you visit Cat Ba!

We had such an amazing stay at CornerCatBa, Phương and her family were so helpful and friendly throughout, making us feel very welcome and at home straight away! We arrived very early from Ha Giang and within an hour they had our room all ready for us to get some rest after a long journey. Phương's English is very good and we had a lovely time getting to know her and her son, B. The breakfasts that Phương prepared for us were so delicious and different every day, she'd always make sure to check with us if we liked the sound of it the day before. Phương also helped us with the cruise around Lan Ha bay and renting a scooter for our stay with her. The first bike we had wasn't in great condition and within moments we had a different one that was perfect. I have only good things to say about our stay and we'll be reminiscing about Phương and her family for a long time. Cảm ơn rất nhiều!

Le petit déjeuner. Location gratuite d'un vélo.

L'hypocrisie de la propriétaire. Cette personne n'écoute pas le client, elle déroule un monologue de vente touristique. L'emplacement est éloigné de tout, pas de restaurant à proximité. Le vol du carburant de mon scooter la nuit. Je l'avais loué pour deux jours et j'avais mis du carburant en conséquence. La propriétaire a refusé de m'écouter et de me croire prétextant que j'avais la clé dans ma chambre. Les propriétaires doivent avoir un double. J'ajoute que les contacteurs de démarrage des scooters ou Neiman au Vietnam sont quasiment tous forcés (perte de clés, etc...), les scooters de location y sont la plupart du temps en très mauvais état. Il est donc facile d'ouvrir un coffre avec n'importe quelle clé et de siphonner du carburant. La propriétaire s'est immédiatement mise en colère, alors que c'est moi qui aurait dû l'être. Elle est devenue agressive ainsi que son mari. La chambre n'avait pas été nettoyée correctement. Le sol n'avait pas été lavé depuis longtemps. Excréments de gecko et insectes un peu partout. Je voyage beaucoup, et ce n'est pas parce qu'un logement est dans la nature qu'il est envahi de bestioles et de geckos. La plupart des établissements gèrent très bien ce genre de désagréments. Il n'y a pourtant que 3 chambres à entretenir dans ce lieu. La salle d'eau était couverte de calcaire, jamais nettoyée à fond. Le pommeau de douche était quasiment bouché. J'ai quitté ce lieu à cause de tout cela après la deuxième nuit. J'ai demandé le remboursement des nuits non faites. Cela m'a été accordé. J'ai eu du mal à me remettre de l'agressivité de ce couple.

Die Zimmer und die Ausstattung sind nichts besonderes aber sauber und gross genug. Die Lage ist etwas ausserhalb, dafür sehr ruhig und schön an einem kleinen See. Das besondere ist die Besitzerin und ihre Familie, sie sind soooo nett. und das Essen war das beste überhaupt; tolles Frühstück und unbedingt fragen, ob man Abendessen auch bekommen kann, das war wirklich besonders!

Après un mois déjà passé au Vietnam ce Homestay a été un coin de paradis durant 4 jours. A taille humaine, 3 chambres avec terrasses, simples mais spacieuses et confortables. A 5 minutes de la ville en scooter, et pourtant au calme, dans une impasse avec vue apaisante sur un lac et des montagnes de. Surtout c'est Phuong, cette femme d'une énergie étonnante et grande gentillesse qui lui apporte une belle humanité.  Et surprise... j'y ai trouvé une cuisine variée et goûteuse, la meilleure de mon séjour. J'aime cuisiner et recevoir 😋, j'y ai pris tous mes diners et petits déjeuners Je n'avais jamais encore mis une note sur booking au Vietnam. C'est fait 🥰 Merci à Phuong et sa famille !!

Wenn etwas den Namen Geheimtipp verdient, dann diese Unterkunft! Die Lage ist einmalig, an einem kleinen See umgeben von Bergen, und total ruhig. Ins Zentrum von Catba sind wir einmal zu Fuß gegangen, das geht schon, und es gibt auch näher schon einfache Restaurants, aber dann haben wir doch lieber Fahrräder oder Motorroller genommen, die von der Unterkunft vermietet werden. Das Doppelbett war sehr bequem und schön breit. Zum Frühstück gab es jeden Tag eine andere vietnamesische Spezialität. Aber das beste ist die Gastgeberin Phương. Sie hat uns bei allen Vorhaben toll beraten und unterstütz, und sogar für die Weiterreise noch eine Busgesellschaft in Hanoi ausfindig gemacht und kontaktiert, mit der wir zu unserem nächsten abgelegenen Homestay am Ho Thac Ba See praktisch direkt vor die Haustür kamen.

Unsere Gastgeberin Phương war auf jeden Fall die liebenswerteste Person, die unseren Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht hat. Danke dafür! Die Unterkunft ist einfach, aber alles da, was man braucht und es wird bestens für die Gäste gesorgt. Die Lage ist hervorragend, still und mitten in der Natur und trotzdem nicht weit vom Geschehen. Auf alle individuellen Wünsche wurde eingegangen, selbst veganes Frühstück wurde mit Liebe zubereitetet. Mehr geht nicht.

Ein Kissen auf den Terrassenstühlen würde die Bequemlichkeit erhöhen ;-) Sonst gibt es nichts zu bemängeln.

La proprietaria e la famiglia sono persone eccezionali. Super ospitale e disponibile. Cucina benissimo, tanto che sono state le due colazioni migliori avute in Vietnam. Ci ha organizzato tutti i tour, indicato i posti migliori dove mangiare e le cose da fare. L'ultimo giorno abbiamo affittato il motorino, dovevamo tornare per le 3.30 pm per prendere poi il bus, ma per un problema alle chiavi non siamo riusciti a tornare in tempo. È stata subito pronta ad aiutarci e ci ha pure rimborsato in anticipo i soldi del motorino, una volta capito che non eravamo noi tonti ma il motorino ad aver problemi. Consiglio veramente a tutti di soggiornare qui. È il mio primo commento del genere, di solito mi limito a indicare il punteggio, ma persone del genere si meritano tutto il meglio 🙌🙏

Simply the best! Nicest of the homestays/hotels I stayed at in a month traveling though Vietnam. A lovely place in a stunningly beautiful corner of Cat Ba run by the loveliest family I had the privilege to meet in Vietnam. The room was basic but immaculate. The daily breakfasts were some of the best meals I ate during my travels and the hospitality was just overwhelming. Through their contacts I was able to arrange an excellent boat tour of Lan Ha and Ha Long bays, scooter rental and bus transport to Hanoi. This wonderful business deserves your patronage.

Absolutely no complaints. If you're looking for serenity while not being too far (about a 30 minute walk or a short bike or scooter ride to what used to be the waterfront) from the restaurants and coffee shops of Cat Ba town, which is undergoing major redevelopment, it's perfect.

No lo dudes. Si visitas Cat Bat este es tu sitio. Mi estancia en Cat Ba no hubieras ido igual de fantástica si no me hubiera alojado en aquí. El sitio es un pequeño paraíso, la habitación súper cómoda, pero lo que hay que destacar por encima de todo es el trato de Phuong y su familia. Me faltan palabras para expresar y agradecer toda la información, consejos y ayuda que me han prestado para hacer que mis días en la isla hayan sido inolvidables.

Piękne położony obiekt nad jeziorkiem w otoczeniu wzgórz w cichej okolicy, trochę oddalony od turystycznego centrum, jakieś 20-30 minut marszu. Śniadania zaskakujące i oryginalne dla nas, ale bardzo smaczne i codziennie inne plus owoce . Można zamówić obiad czy kolację. Można też skorzystać z rowerów - gratisowo lub wypożyczyć skutery w dobrej cenie. My jeździliśmy przez wszystkie dni skuterem, dzięki temu zwiedziliśmy kawałek wyspy i nie było problemu z wyjazdami do centrum na kolację. Pokoje przestronne i wygodnie urządzone z przeszkolną ścianą wejściową - są zasłony, które nie przepuszczają światła. W pokoju czajnik, kawa, herbata, klapki, kapcie, w łazience suszarka do włosów i ręczniki. Materac dla mnie nieco za twardy, ale kto co lubi, więc to nie wada. Bardzo czysto. Bardzo mili właściciele, pomagający we wszystkim i doradzający. Serdecznie pozdrawiamy całą rodzinę z Pee na czele (przepraszam, jeżeli źle napisałam imię).

Alles beviel ons!😍 Phuong is zo'n leuk mens!. Ze is ook heel behulpzaam bij het boeken van uitjes.We voelden ons echt welkom. Ze had ook waardevolle tips over de omgeving. En het ontbijt...fantastisch! Elke ochtend was het een verrassing wat we gingen krijgen. De locatie is prima. We hebben een scooter kunnen huren bij Phuong om de omgeving te verkennen. De kamers vond ik ook mooi ingericht. Kan deze plek van harte aanbevelen.

Niets viel tegen.

El alojamiento fue de los que más nos gustó de todos los que cogimos en Vietnam. La dueña desde el primer día nos organizó los días que estuvimos allí, se puso en contacto con los transportes que íbamos a coger para que nos recogiesen en la misma puerta. Los desayunos fueron espectaculares, comida local y variada. Las habitaciones fueron muy cómodas y silenciosas.

We had a wonderful time - rooms are spacious and clean, location quiet and beautiful! The highlight are the hosts - friendly, very easy to communicate with and always helpful! We rented some scooters and as we never drove them before we got a private practice lesson.

Onze host P was super behulpzaam en regelde alles voor ons! Elke ochtend stond er een heerlijk ontbijtje voor ons klaar en had ze goede aanbevelingen wat we konden doen die dag! Super Host!! We hebben ons hier thuis gevoeld! De locatie is ook lekker rustig met een prachtig uitzicht!

OK so this is truly a hidden gem in Cat Ba. Out of all the places we have stayed so far in Vietnam this was by far our favourite (and we did a 5-star Hà long Bay cruise so that's saying something 😂). Phuong, Dung and B are truly the best hosts anyone could ask for. Phuong was incredibly communicative and organised all our transport on the island and everything was absolutely perfect and stress free. The room was gorgeous - decorated with love and attention to detail. The air-conditioner worked amazingly, everything was clean and comfortable. The view of mountains and a beautiful lake from the room was spectacular! Phuong had beers and water available at the property and the breakfasts she made for us was some of the best food we have had in Vietnam so far - Phuong spent the time suggesting places in the area to visit and eat and explained so much about the Vietnamese culture that we couldn't have learnt without speaking with a local. B was her beautiful son and his presence truly made our stay very special. B is an incredibly smart and caring boy, who speaks the best English in his class and was an absolute treat to be around. He is also unofficially known as the "Uno master" so be prepared to lose your pride in a match or two!  Anything we needed Phuong was happy to organise or answer our questions about how to do it the best way! This place will have a special place in our hearts and we plan to return on our next trip to Vietnam! If you are looking for a truly amazing cultural experience with comfort and zero stress guaranteed then please don't miss out on staying with Phuong and her beautiful family! This place deserves all the stars! This is the place for you if you want a quiet retreat with cultural emersion and beautiful people!

our stay at Corner Catba was absolutely amazing. Pea and her family are incredibly helpful and caring. she prepared for us a different vietnamese breakfast everyday,all of them delicious and help us with everything we needed. the homestay is located in front of a lagoon,in a peaceful area so if you like a little bit of calm is the place to go. walking distance to restaurants and shops. honestly we felt so lucky at her homestay and hopefully we'll come back one day.

This place is nothing short of extraordinary and has officially become our favorite in Vietnam! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warmth of the amazing people who work here. It truly felt like home. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable—they were incredibly helpful and open-hearted, always ready to lend a hand. They assisted us with transportation and even rented us a scooter at a very small price, making everything so easy. The location is simply perfect, just a stone's throw from the city center, allowing us to explore with ease. The friendliest, sweetest and most helpful host ever. She makes delicious breakfast, helps with itineraries and organizes transport. Her son is also so sweet and fun to talk to. Feels like a proper homestay. The rooms are excellent and feels like a home. Nice and quiet location away from the busy centre.

There is a bit of construction going on all over Cat Ba due to the recent typhoon, so expect some noise (but not all the time, and not early/late). That’s just something to keep in mind when going to Cat Ba in general now, nothing the host can do much about.

We had the best Host and Breakfast at Corner Catba. She also helped me with Simcard issue and we could use the Motorbike for free to get to the City. We can recommend 100% Closeby is a really nice beach, used of locals, more quiet than directly in Cat Ba

First impression at the road side drop off wasn’t great due to some unfinished development and untidiness but rest assured, when you’ve walked down a little road to arrive at Corner Catba it is a wonderful authentic welcoming and comfortable home stay, a peaceful lakeside oasis. I smile, remembering the dialogue between cockerel and turkey on the other side of the lake whilst we enjoyed the lovely home cooked breakfast under the pergola. The host was absolutely the best, extremely helpful and speaking good English. Lovely family. Fond memories of our stay here❤️

Such an exceptional place in Cat Ba: a small-scale cosy accomodation in a quiet location with an incredibly friendly and helpful host. She helped us book a boat tour and taxi, gave us tips on what to visit, and made an incredible vietnamese breakfast every morning (always something different and nice veggie options). The rooms are very clean with comfy beds and a cute terrace. I would advise to stay here instead of the city centre, you can rent a motorcycle to get around or walk.

Everything was great but the owners/family made it extra special. They were just so lovely - we arrived very early (overnight bus from Sapa) and they made us breakfast. Everyday breakfast was different and home cooked. They sorted out all our tours, scooters and onward travel at good rates. The location was so peaceful and a 20 min walk to the centre. Staying at Corner CatBa felt like visiting a generous relative. Pi’s warmth and care shine through in everything—her incredible cooking, her thoughtful recommendations, and the cozy atmosphere she’s created. She keeps only three rooms to ensure every guest gets the best experience, and it truly shows. Our room was perfect—cozy, spotless, with a comfortable bed and duvet, and a beautiful view of the lake. From the moment we arrived, Pi took care of everything we could possibly need, making us feel completely at home. Her husband is just as kind, and together they have the warmest smiles that make you feel like family. If I ever find myself in CatBa again, there’s no question—I’ll stay with Pi and her family. I can only recommend this place! ❤️❤️❤️

The location was very peaceful, breakfast was nice, room was nice too. We rented a motorbike to do the tour of the island and visit the national park. Our host was very kind and gave us lots of information about what to do. It was one of our best stay in Vietnam!

A little slice of heaven in Cat Ba. Opposite a lake and out of the town so very quiet. The family that run this place are so very kind. They will help with everything. Fantastic quality scooters and they can organise trips and transport.. Accommodation is very clean and the breakfasts are lovingly created and local Vietnamese traditional food. Don't hesitate to book this place, it's amazing!!!

Amazing homestay, where there are only three rooms and you are really with the owners, who are lovely. Every day a new traditional Vietnamese breakfast. You can rent motos from there, as it is not in the center, but we liked it that way. The owner explained the area really well and gave us recommendations on where to go.

Phương and family was incredibly kind. The property is located down a quiet road and the rooms are large and clean. The food was amazing, huge portions! Don't forget to brush up on your uno skills to face UnoMaster Be!

Since we went on the Lan Ha Bay / Halong Bay Day Cruise, I wanted a place which was a little off the beach and in the interiors of Cat Ba. The property was exactly as advertised and was in a quiet, serene location with a backwater away from the commercialised aspects of the city (on the reclaimed beach front) while being situated about 2.5 km from the City Centre. There are only 3 rooms in the property, so it's not very crowded. What I really liked was the hospitality of our host, Phurong who was extremely proactive from the time we booked the hotel. She was the epitome of Vietnamese hospitality and the best host I have had in any homestay till date. She told us exactly where we needed to go, what we needed to avoid and put everything on my Google Maps (including over half a dozen restaurants). It is also better to book any rental bikes, bus tickets, cruise tickets through Phurong as it saves a lot of time and is at par with the market rates. The complimentary breakfast was amazing with a lot of exotic fruits on my plate. If I ever come to Cat Ba again, no matter what my budget is, I will book my stay at Cat Ba Corner. If you're still having second thoughts about this property, I say go for it. I have been where you are and am glad I decided to stay at Corner Cat Ba and wouldn't change a thing.

Phuong was an exceptional hostess who took care of all our activity and travel needs with loads of friendliness. Breakfast was a treat every time. We loved the quietness and tranquility of the location. Close to town but away from the hustle and bustle. It was very helpful being able to communicate in English with Phuong. Most highly recommended!!!

The best hosts we have met in Vietnam! Se welcoming, friendly and helpful. We are going to miss them and their cozy homestay. The room was super clean, the location was perfect and peaceful. After spending one night in a hotel in the town it was like we moved to paradise. Breakfast was homemade and delicious. They also helped us book tours and bus tickets. Can’t recommend enough!

Everything was nice

The location is perfect, situated just outside of Cat Ba, a perfect retreat to relax after a long day exploring. We were given a very warm welcome, had nice talks and received many local tipps for tours and restaurants. Very recomendable!

A quiet three rooms homestay in a quiet alley just outside Cat Ba Town, in a local setting. The host, Phuong, and her family are simply amazing and take exceptional care of the guests. They told us to feel like at home and we really did. You'll get advice and help with anything you may need. Breakfast is true Vietnamese cuisine, so be ready for a taste adventure: sticky rice, pumpkin porridge, bao or banh mi with Vietnamese coffee. There's a decent beach 15 minutes' walk away.

It would be nice to add more comfortable seats outside, like recliner chairs. Wasn't a problem though.

We loved our stay at corner catba! A beautiful quiet place just outside of the hectic town. The owners are very sweet and caring. We rented a motorbike to see the island. If you have the change, also book a dinner! Really delicious! Thank you for everything!

The host is the best ever, awesome recommendations for everything, making our stay so relaxed. The host made all the arrangements and bookings we needed. The location is quiet and just off the busy street. It is only a 10 minute walk to town, well worth the nice and quiet sleep. The breakfast was yummy. The view from the room was amazing. The bathroom was authentic Vietnamese style. I would stay here again and again.

Quiet and beautifully located Homestay with a lovely host. Super helpful and caring. We were able to check in much earlier due to our earlier arriving night bus. Cheap scooter rental available (I recommend to get one because of the location).

Room smelled damp. Bevor we arrived it rained the whole night so that’s ok but we couldn’t get the smell out even though we used the AC (dry mode). Bathroom stays wet because of the uneven floor and inconvenient placed sink. Could use a bit descaling agent. The towels are made of microfiber, cotton would be highly appreciated. Still, we would definitely come again :)

Phuong is an exceptional hostess. She and her husband are welcoming, kind and helpful. This is one of those home stays that I wanted to stay forever. The rooms look out directly onto a beautiful lake with a limestone formation above. It felt like paradise. The room is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Phuong and her husband’s hearts of gold dutifully looking after their guests are just the icing on the cake 🎂

Despite of hard weather ( we saw the sun 2 hours the first day before the storm!) very peaceful place with nice view in this family owned pension , full of attention and kindness ... talentful and generous dinner the first night, lot of help all along the stay

Nice peaceful location. Clean and nice. Wonderful hosts that helped us have a great trip. Motorbike for rent. If you want out of the city but close to the city this is perfect. Less than a minute to town on the motorbike!

Everything was wonderful, they made us feel at home, the food was delicious, and the owner helped us a lot when planning what to do each day, to make plans and set up the transportation. The location of the hotel is very beautiful. We absolutely loved this place!!

Corner CatBa is one of those exceptional places you wish you could give a rating higher than 10! We loved the beauty and tranquility of the location, and the comfort of our room. Phương and her husband were extraordinarily kind and friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible stay at all times!

The property is located in a beautiful place with view of the lake. It was so quiet and peaceful and the owner was so kind, we really felt like home. She cooked us amazing Vietnamese breakfast everyday. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to cat ba
