A budget friendly and quaint little resort tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Cat Ba town. Cute little bungalows and a stilt house with basic but tidy and comfortable rooms with air conditioning. The pool was refreshing and offers beautiful views of the mountains and sea! The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We really loved our stay here! Canh and his mother are such kind people! After I booked the room, Canh instantly sent me a message to help go to his home! He is a very available and accommodating person. He kindly offered to lend us his motorcycle two evenings in a row so that we could go out into town. The place is well located, not in the noisy Cat Ba town but close enough. The view from the balcony is also stunning! Rooms are spacious, beds could be a bit hard but were surprisingly comfy. Maybe a little bedside lamp could be a great addition. The homestay has a ping pong table, a pool, a dart game, you can also use the bicycle for free! The swimming pool is really great and you can even sometimes hear the monkeys! Breakfast was good! In short terms, wonderful place, I recommend it!

Hi... from walking up the drive way and meeting the boss Dave and his mum and brother.. wow what a beautiful family run business 👏 buy the end of the week it was like walking in to my mum's home so careing and thought full 😉 any thing you needed Dave would do his best to sort it out and make shaw your stay was as special as it could be 😀 great price. Pool table. Ping pong table. 18 rooms to sleep a big family or a over sized foot ball team lol or even host a wedding 🤔..2km away from busy cat ba city with endless choice of restaurants in the area 🤣 nice little bar for afternoon drinks and the best thing of all was the out standing pool area with a safe place for the young kids to have a swim and many spots to soak up the sun!! 😀 give it a go if you fancy a good place to relax 😌 send my best to Dave and family 😉

Super friendly and supportive owner. Helped us to arrange transportation, food and everything we asked for!!! Huge terrace with a picturesque view! Spacious swimming pool!!! Definitely will visit again.

Vue pas agréable. Le propriétaire nous a loué 2 chambres alors que les 2 chambres étaient pour 4 personnes chacunes. Salle de bain pas agréable.Opacités des fenêtres ( film collé). Petit déjeuner catastrophique : pot de confiture d'un litre presque vide et qui n'a jamais vu le frigo, pareille pour la margarine. Inmangeable.

Windy, es un anfitrión increíble, te alquila moto, tienes tours, y te ayuda o sfrece si ayuda en todo lo que está en su mano. Las habitaciones son grandes y muy limpias al igual que las instalaciones en general. Desayuno rico y un precion en general asequible y estupendo por el servicio rebicido. Lugar ideal para alojarte en Cat Ba, acertarás seguro con este alojamiento.

The staff was very friendly and easy to communicate over WhatsApp. We enjoyed the quiet location and the view into the garden and the pool was good. Mopeds and bycicles are for rent, easy to explore the Island like that. They organised a taxi for us to get to our cruise pickup in departure that was nice.

The wifi was a little unstable at times and the breakfast could have been more fresh. In the evenings you some nights could hear loud music from the hostel next door but overall very quiet location. The rooms smelled a little bit, more windows in the bungalows would be good.

Beautiful pool and large beds for a great price. Lots of amenities included.

L'ensemble est passable. Le propriétaire essaie de montrer sa disponibilité. Piscine passable mais pas propre au fond. Belle terrasse devant les chambres au deuxième étage mais la vue n'est vraiment pas belle.Ma cote est sévère mais le but est de diminuer la côte globale de " l'hôtel ' qui est largement surcoté.

Le propriétaire nous a loué 2 chambres alors que les 2 chambres étaient pour 4 personnes (2 x chambre familiale comme montré sur les photos) .1 chambre aurait suffit. Chambre vétuste sans rideau mais avec film collant laissant passer la lumière. Aucune vue de la fenêtre et lumière dès le lever du jour. Petit déjeuner en dessous de tout. Pas de beurre mais un pot de margarine de 800g moitié vide ouvert depuis dès mois et qui n'a jamais vu le frigo. Pas de confitures proposées, après demande,on nous donne un pot d'1 litre de confitures où il ne restait que le fond. Comme la margarine,il n'a jamais vu le frigo... immangeable. Voir les photos...et cuillères pas propres Salle de fitnes annoncée inexistante.

Can at the front desk was amazing!!! He was always checking in with us, helped arrange motorcycles and taxis and wanted us to have the best possible stay. The service couldn't have been better. The rooms were basic but comfortable. The pool and shared communal areas were welcoming with a pool table and comfy balcony chairs. We also liked the location which was outside of the main Cat Ba town (where there is lots of construction)

We did find that the bathrooms and towels were not super clean. Having the shower and toilet combined means that the bathroom gets wet and can appear dirty. Can't really be helped but something to keep in mind for booking. Also the area is nice however you need motorcycles or a car to get into main town and around the island.

Large room with 2 double beds was clean and comfortable. The pool was a real bonus as the weather was very hot. The staff were great and helped with everything we needed. Breakfast was a small buffet which was fine. Good fruit choices. We liked the location away from the main town but others might not.

The loud music from another hotel nearby was a slight pain, but always stopped early enough

The breakfast was really tasty and all the stuff was so nice! The beds were super comfortable and everything was very clean. Will recommend to anyone! Perfect place for families as well, since there is a Billard and Ping Pong Table.

La propreté laissait à désirer. Forte odeur d'humidité dans notre bungalow et donc pour le même prix nous avons été sous classé dans une chambre pour le meme prix ou la salle de bain était salle et le frigo aussi. Et personnel désagreable qui vous ri au nez a la moindre remarque et intrusion en notre absence de la chambre

Pride in ownership is obvious here! Much attention to detail from the many lovely wall murals, beautiful flowers, gardens and I loved the views as well! However, it is the hosts that bring this property above all others!! They go above and beyond to make your stay whatever you are looking for, treating you just like you have known them for years. I had such a wonderful experience here!

Not the properties fault but I wish the bus would bring you to them. Not a big deal, we were even offered a ride by a local!!

Zeer vriendelijk ontvangen door Cahn, ik mocht zelfs mee eten. Top geregeld, ook de tour voor de volgende dag werd door hem gereserveerd. Als het weer wat beter is (was nu bewolkt) is het zwembad ook een goede toevoeging.

La chambre est spacieuse, une terrasse devant très agréable, un petit déjeuner excellent et surtout un accueil chaleureux. Nous avons trouvé un petit restaurant pour le soir à quelques pas dans le village et nous avons pu réserver une excursion en bateau.

Séjour incroyable à Cat Ba ! Le gérant, Chanh et sa maman sont d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle. Endroit magnifique, piscine, jeux, scooter prêté et invitations à dîner… on se sent comme en famille. Je recommande à 100 % !

Nous avons passé 4 nuits ,et c'était très bien. Le petit déjeuner et l'accueil j'ai beaucoup apprécié. Café,oeufs aux plats,fruits,petits gâteaux,et crêpes faites maison.. Très accueillant. Je recommande.

Le manque de rangement de sintrev,porte manteau. L'hôtel se trouve à 3 km du centre ville. L'établissement peut loué sur place des scooters.

Lovely homestay in cat ba. The owners are very welcoming and organized everything for our stay very efficiently from transfer from ha long bay to motorbike rental. Rooms are simple but very clean. Breakfast included and nice swimming pool. Recommend 100%

Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit einem liebevoll gepflegten Garten. Die Familie ist überaus freundlich und herzlich, wir haben so etwas noch nie erlebt. Wir wurden sogar zum Abendessen eingeladen. Man kann schnell, unkompliziert und günstig einen Roller dort mieten und ist dann innerhalb von wenigen Minuten im Stadtzentrum. Bei der Buchung von Bussen und Touren wurde uns auch geholfen. Unbedingt hingehen!

L'accueil et la gentillesse rare de Canh (hote). Il est resté éveillé jusqu'à notre arrivée, nous a prêté son propre scooter après une journee d'activités et un retour à l'hôtel tardif le dernier soir, il nous a proposé un petit dejeuner en dehors des horaires prevues car nous partions très tôt le matin de dernier jour et a répondu à toutes nos demandes et toujours avec le sourire et sa bonne humeur qui est communicative et c' est un réel plaisir. Il y a des scooter en location a un prix très correct pour la journée ce qui est bien car l'hôtel est un peu excentré (10 mn de centre en scooter). Il y a un large choix de plats pour les vegans. Suite à notre demande,Cahn nous a orienté vers un tour operator oraganisant une croisière d'une journée dans Lan Ha Bay (Cat Ba Eco tourist) qui etait très belle et très complète. Il s'est également occupé de notre retour vers Hanoï. Les chambres sont grandes et confortables et il y a une tres belle vue de la terrasse.

Un hôtel voisin organise des karaoke tous les soirs jusqu'à 22h30 et les chambres des bungalows ne sont pas assez isolées. Par contre pas de problème dans les autres suites

L’hôte est adorable, souriant et aux petits soins. Il nous a proposé une excursion peu cher et qu’on a adoré. Repas sur place disponible qui était très bon. Billard, ping pong fléchettes disponible. La chambre est bien , location de scooter sur place très pratique et pas cher. Piscine très bien avec une belle vue sur les montagnes

Il y’a un hôtel juste à côté qui fait des soirées mais le bruit s’arrête vers 23 h ce qui est acceptable, par contre les bruits de chiens qui aboient toute la nuit dans le quartier sont vraiment nuisibles pour votre sommeil… ce n’est pas du tout la faute de l’hôte mais ça rend le repos tres difficile, sans ça on aurait mis 10 sans problème

Ha sido una estancia fantástica. Las habitaciones son grandes y estan muy limpias (y es barato). Las instalaciones estan nuevas y tienen piscina, terraza, billar, ping pong… Te ayudan con todo lo que necesitas. Tienen un pequeño buffet para desayunar. La familia es muy agradable, hasta nos invitaron a cenar una noche con ellos. Son muy hospitalarios. Está un poquito alejado del centro andando pero cerca en moto, y es un sitio muy tranquilo. (Además los tours suelen venir a buscarte en taxi/autocar al hotel). Estamos encantados de habernos alojado aqui, seguro que volveremos, muchas gracias por estos dias tan agradables☺️

We had a great stay here. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The common areas were excellent. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked wonderful as well. Breakfast was great. A big thank you to Cảnh and his mother for welcoming us so warmly and for the amazing dinner.

We loved everything, but I would suggest a small improvement to the Wi-Fi for those who need to work, and curtains on the windows to make the room darker in the morning. But these were not major issues. I would definitely stay here again.

The owner was really nice and helpful. The room was in good condition and the value for money was great. I think the location is actually nice, as long as you can rent and ride a scooter yourself. It’s next to the buffalo hostel which is party focused so you can hear some music in the evenings but they usually turn it off at a reasonable time. Windy is a perfect place for travelers who still want to socialize at buffalo hostel but prefer a more comfortable, private room to sleep in!

Some of the towels had permanent stains of them but they were clean so that was not a huge issue for me.

המיקום היה מצוין בשבילנו הגענו עם אופנועים מה שנתן לנו את האפשרות לא להיות במרכז העיר ולהרגיש את השקט והשלווה של המקומיים. השרות והיחס החם עם כל שאלה שהייתה לנו נענו עם חיוך ורצון לעזור עם הכל. תודה רבה בהחלט אחזור לפה בהמשך.

The property was in a fantastic location, close enough to all the action and close enough to the national park. The buildings and the gardens were lovingly cared for, it felt wonderful to be there and the pool was amazing. We were so well looked after by Liên, Cánh and Xuân, we felt like part of the family. The meals they prepared for us were delicious and the generosity extended to us was exceptional, so sad to leave.

Le cadre est magnifique au milieu d un jardin exceptionnel avec vue sur les montagnes et côté terrasse vue sur la baie de lan ha. Endroit très reposant également côté piscine. Canh est très gentil ,toujours souriant et très serviable. Nous avons partagé un très bon moment de convivialité avec sa maman autour d un repas typiquement vietnamien ambiance comme à la maison très sympathique. Un billard, une table de ping pong ainsi qu un jeu de fléchettes sont mis gracieusement à disposition c est vraiment cool.

El personal del homestay va ser increïble, només arribar ens van convidar a sopar amb tota la família de l'allotjament, van ser superamables i ens van ajudar a organitzar la nostra estada a l'illa. Molt tranquil. Situat una mica apartat del passeig central de cat ba town, l'anfitrió ens va deixar la seva pròpia moto per desplaçar-nos per la zona i ens va recomanar quines excursions escollir per Lan Ha Bay. La piscina i la resta d'instal·lacions molt correctes pels preus que hi ha a l'illa.

Tot ha estat genial, tornaríem a repetir.

Accueil, accompagnement et gentillesse de la famille. Cadre de l'établissement, des petites maisons colorées et de la piscine. Petit déjeuner.

Quelques petites améliorations à faire dans les chambres : - peinture - nouveau téléviseur - aération automatique dans la salle de bain - nettoyage profond à chaque changement d'occupant (notamment au dessus des armoires, ventilateurs...)

Jeg elskede at bo hos familien, som var så søde ved os. Hyggeligt homestay, hvor de byder en velkommen med åbne arme og de inviterede os endda til at spise aftensmad med dem begge aftener.

Det ligger en smule øde og det er svært at komme rundt, hvis man ikke har en scooter. Så lej sådan en! Homestay lejer fx ud til billig penge.

Pas au centre ville, mais presque un plus si vous recherchez la tranquillité afin d’éviter le bruit de la ville en travaux et les plages bondées, car scooter à dispo. Le gérant toujours souriant, super dispo pour ses clients, d’une grande aide pour réservation bateau ou bus. Il nous a invité à manger avec sa famille, très sympa. Échanges avec traducteur en ligne très faciles! Possibilité de donner son linge à laver.

Beds were confy and we had a big bathroom. We could also enjoy the swimming pool for a couple of hours and it was nice. Good food and small buffet breakfast (eggs, bread, watermelon, noodles, coffee and tea) Worth it for the money we spent

Staff is attentive and nice. We liked the location: outside downtown but not too far neither (we rented motorbikes directly from the hotel). Rooms were really clean. View was really nice.

When we arrived, the swimming pool was not ready to use (just a bit of water). They were redoing the floor on the ground floor, so it was noisy during the day; they were almost done when we left so it should not be an issue anymore :)

I was looked after here like part of the family. Great accommodation, clean , near to main town, but far enough to still be quiet. Would recommend to anyone looking for a legit Vietnamese experience.

On Saturday the neighbouring hostel played loud music, but this stopped at 10pm and was only for one night.

I booked a shared bedroom, but homestay was almost empty, which was my luck. Another guest and I were supposed to stay in the same room, but he moved to private for personal reasons. The shared bedroom had no lights at the beds, no curtains, beds weren't really clean and worst: the bathroom door didn't close (broken hinge), so it couldn't have been locked. Luckily I was alone in the room. Breakfast next morning (soup, some toasts and fruits) was good. Location is far from center, motorbike for 100k per day, which is fine. Mom speaks no English, but Google Translate works fine. She's nice. Easy improvements to become a good place, but maybe I was also just unlucky to get this room.

Altough the host wasn’t present at the homestay, instead her mom who didn’t speak english, the host was always available via booking messages if we needed anything. Rooms were clean, spacious. Motorbikes were available for rent for a good price. Breakfast was decent, the first day we got eggs, bread, watermelon, banans and coffee/tea. Second day there were also pancakes (plain).

Feels like the variety of breakfast depends on the number of guest currently staying there. The fewer people the lesser for breakfast. The motorbikes were for a low price but their condition wasn’t the best. One of them stopped working on the way so we had to rent another one.

I really enjoyed my time at Windy and even stayed two nights longer than i planned. Canh is super friendly and helpful, and his mother is hardworking and really amiable. I felt very welcome and at home. I clearly recommend this place it you want to see Cat Ba from its best side! The place is very clean and features a beautiful garden and pool. The breakfast is really good and they can give you a scooter or organize a trip for you.

Beautiful view from the balcony, hot water with good water pressure in the bathroom, 2 double beds, free breakfast, water refills, motorbike available on site for rent, swimming pool, ping pong table, and billards table available. Fantastic stay, cheaper and bigger rooms than in town, only 7 minutes drive drom downtown. Would definately stay again.

Absolutely loved it and extended my stay. Breakfast is delicious and a lot, the guest family are the cutest and the dorms (4 beds) and pool area are spacious and clean! Pool table, table tennis and darts free for use. It's outside of town, but easy and cheap to rent a scooter or catch a ride with a local for little money.. Perfect if you want to stay somewhere more quiet but very welcoming. Booked the Lan Ha bay day tour and everything was well planned and an amazing experience. Highly recommend, if I'll ever be that way again, I will rebook for sure!

The best homestay I had in Vietnam, and maybe even anywhere else. The owners make this place feel like home from the moment you arrive and their hospitality really goes beyond any expectations! It's a beautiful, quiet place with a great view. There are some shops and restaurants nearby, so it's a perfect location if you want to avoid the noisy Cat Ba centre. There are also affordable motorbikes to rent at the homestay, so it's easy to get around! The rooms are exceptionally clean and cosy, and there is a very romantic swimming pool :) Much better than in any hotels. The breakfast was delicious! In general, it's a great place regardless if you're looking for a short or long stay, and if you either want to be alone or connect with great people. Also good for working remotely, as the WiFi is reliable and there are plenty of quiet spots to set up the laptop. I very much recommend Windy Hill if you want to experience the real Vietnamese hospitality!

Mr. Cane was incredibly nice and is very welcoming. The place is outside of the city center, which allows you to take in real fresh air. The place is clean and has been freshly painted. At night, as the beach is too far, it is possible to go for a swim in the relaxing swimming pool. The balcony is very large and protectd from the heat of the sun and allows one to work on the computer, if need be. Mr. Cane is an excellent billard player, think twice before asking him to play.

It would be possible to add some more curtains to the beds in the dorm area, but it does not hinder a good nights sleep, far from the turbulences of the party areas.

I am so glad I booked this homestay!! The man who runs it is the kindest and happiest person ever and we would come back just to see him. The place is also great. It has a large swimming pool and the rooms are very clean. We were able to rent a motorcycle for very cheap directly from the homestay and also booked our cruise to ha long bay which was fantastic. Thank you for having us, we can’t wait to come back to Cat Ba and stay at Windy!:)

The room is big, with a balcony with an amazing view. You can rent motorbike direct there. Also they offer laundry service. Staff was amazing, Kai helped us with everything that we need, super helpful. Kai is the best, always happy always smiling. Pool table also table tennis table available for use at anytime. Swimming pool really nice. It’s a little far away from town (10 minutes motorbike ride) but its good because its in a quiet area.

Pool was very quiet and relaxing. Provided with watermelon by the host for free whilst at the pool. Very nice customer service as host also booked our bus for next day and helped carry our bags down the road, also let us use his bike for free to go into town for dinner that evening. Comfortable room with lots of areas to relax including egg chairs on the balcony and pool tables, ping pong and darts.

The TV in the room wasn’t working due to the recent storm - not a problem for us.
