Beautiful place with a restaurant downstairs that serves the best Italian in town.

Location in quiet road near Havelock Mall. Staff welcoming and helpful. Italian restaurant has lovely coffee and great selection of pastries and ice creams, wide range of artisan pasta dishes at reasonable prices. Room was spacious with comfortable king size bed, decent size ensuite with good shower and plenty of white towels. Kettle with tea, coffee and mugs. Glass bottles of drinking water can be refilled from dispenser on landing. Fridge in room was good addition. No television but has good wifi.

I had no complaints..but only a suggestion that a choice of wines would have been good with dinner.

いつも泊まる宿です。コロンボに仕事で行く際には必ずここに泊まります。いつも泊まるのでスタッフともオーナーとも顔見知りになっていて、居心地がとてもよい。店があいてる時間にはすぐコーヒーとかスウィーツが食べられるのがとってもいいです。駐車スペースがあるのもよい。大きくて重いスーツケースがあるときは階段しかないから泊まりませんがそれ以外は基本的にここに泊まります。

人気がありすぎて、予約が埋まっていることが多いことかな？あとはお掃除の人は昔いたせの低い小さいオバチャンが良かったがいなくなってしまって残念…。

The room was beautiful and well kept, and the staff was attentive and kind. We had a comfortable stay and would stay here again!

Great little place - love the location, walking distance to supermarkets, Havelock city mall and kiku. I had the room on the top floor (no 5) which was very spacious, light and airy. The bed was comfortable and there was a small sofa and tea and coffee. Hot water and worked well. It had a private balcony and rooftop terrace. The staff were great, very friendly and polite. On arrival I was offered a complimentary drink. I didn't eat in the cafe/bakery downstairs but the bakery items looks amazing. All in all a great place and I would book again.

Everything was great for what I needed. I was on my own this time. I have looked at this place before but they don't allow kids which prevented me booking before.

Check in was not smooth. I arrived early morning as messaged but the guard was not aware I was coming. Message the day before to remind! It was soon sorted out.

Ça ne vaut pas son prix. Les draps n’avaient pas étés changés et la salle de bain pas nettoyée à mon arrivée. Le restau est cher et pas très bon. J’étais réveillée le matin à 7:30 par des travaux sur le balcon de la chambre

We always stop at Dolce when we visit Colombo, the breakfast is great, the staff are very good, the bedrooms are comfortable and the meal are wonderful. All in all fully recommend it.

ROOMS ARE NOT SOUNDPROOF, BUT NOT A MAJOR ISSUE

Dolce Italia has a very unique and authentic vibe that made the stay memorable. The rooms were comfortable, and the spacious bathroom immediately caught my attention. I also loved the calm common area in front of the room, perfect for reading and relaxing. Even though it’s next to the main road, there were no disturbing noises. The staff was very friendly, and I would definitely stay there again.

The room was very big, and so was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The room overall was quite clean and they cleaned it everyday and offered fresh towels. The Aircon worked well. There is a nice reading nook to read your books but it can be quite hot there without Aircon or a fan. The breakfast was amazing, so many courses and really tasty and good quality. The food from the restaurant for lunch and dinner is also really good, quite authentic Italian food.

There were a few hairs in the shower when we arrived which I think were missed in the cleaning.

This was our second visit to Dolce Italia Rooms, and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had all the essentials we needed. We'd happily come back again!

good basic room on top of an italian restaurant. the place is very calm for colombo and yet not to far out to explore around. breakfast is a good continental one and the staff was very nice. nice hangout area with books. we could safely store our luggage after check out until we left in the evening.

the room looked very different than in the photos, the nicely arranged furniture wasn't existant, the bathroom was much smaller. i guess they must have several similar rooms that they list as the same category with the same pictures even though the layout and furniture isn't the same. we found quite a bit of other peoples hair around the bedroom and in the shower. other than that it was clean. as often, the pictures seem to have been taken years ago, when everything looked new and in good shape. with my limited colombo experience i would still say its a good value place and i wouldn't advise against it. outside colombo you would definitely find much nicer places for this price.

Unfortunately, I can’t really rate this hotel properly as we never had the chance to see the rooms. We confirmed our check-in time in advance but didn’t receive a response. When we arrived, we were offered a complimentary drink, which was a nice gesture, but we then sat waiting for about an hour without being shown to our room. My husband eventually went to ask what was happening and was told that the bathroom was under maintenance. He asked if we could at least leave our bags in the room, but we were told that maintenance staff had taken them. After waiting so long following a 12-hour journey, we decided to find somewhere else to stay. The hotel suggested a place down the road. Highbury Colombo was double the price, but at that point we were exhausted and had little choice but to take it.

Rooms were spacious and comfortable.

We saw who we understood to be one of the Italian owners speaking to the staff rudely in English in a very obnoxious way. If you are going to run a business in a country that is not your own, learning the local language and treating the people who you employ fairly is a basic duty. Despite the accommodation suiting our needs, because of this I would not recommend staying here as I found this behaviour unacceptable.

Идеальный отель! Хорошее расположение, в частном секторе, поэтому очень тихо и спокойно. Рядом есть супермаркет, торговый центр. Нас мило встретили при заселении, дали велком дринк свежевыжатый сок на выбор. Номер был большим, большие окна, мягкая кровать, также есть общая зона с книгами, диванчиками, где можно провести время. На первом этаже имеется итальянский ресторан, все невероятно вкусно. Мы брали завтрак и ужин, обслуживание отличное, это был самый лучший завтрак на Шри-Ланке! К сожалению они не принимают доллары, но это не страшно. Можно оплатить картой.

Останавливались в отеле на одни сутки, чтобы познакомится с Коломбо! Отель хороший с итальянским рестораном внизу. Номер чистый, кровать удобная! Очень вкусный завтрак, воздушный свежеиспеченный хлеб был изумителен! Персонал шустрый и вежливый. При желании можно купить итальянские продукты с собой.

Отель находится далековато от центра, приходилось ездить на тук-туке и такси.

Estuvimos solo una noche pero muy a gusto, en un barrio tranquilo y cerca de todo en tuktuk. Muy buen desayuno y cena. Estancias decoradas con gusto y dueña amable

Jako pierwsza noc na Sri Lance to nie było dla mnie zbyt dobre doświadczenie. Ludzie na Sri Lance są bardzo mili, ale w tym hotelu nie czułam się mile widziana.

L’emplacement au calme, plutôt proche des visites et des commerces, le petit déjeuner très abordable et copieux (5$), la possibilité de laisser nos bagages pour la journée après le check out, la chambre était agréable et très propre

Il faut savoir que c’est situé au dessus d’un petit restaurant italien donc il y a un peu de bruit jusqu’à 22h30 et après c’est très calme. Ça ne nous a pas dérangés car nous rentrions à peu près à cette heure là.

The room is very clean. There is an opened room for reading book on 2nd floor. The western breakfast is good. On the ground is an Italian restaurant with nice ice cream.

Definitivamente el desayuno fue lo mejor de nuestra estadía. Por otro lado, el cuarto es amplio pero debería haber limpieza más profundas y mejorar las instalaciones.

Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable...Breakfast is really really good...good value too...restaurant is excellent, world class patisserie, great pizza but they wont put pineapple on your pizza for love nor money, very good coffee....all round a very good spot

Уютная гостиница с чистыми и просторными номерами. Удобная кровать. Отличные завтраки с прекрасным кофе ( кофе в Шри Ланке очень часто не вкусный и мы позже часто вспоминали кофе, который готовят в этой гостинице). Хозяйка - итальянка, очень приятная общительная женщина, всегда готовая помочь.

The restaurant is magnificent, quality Italian products, extensive menu, proper cooking, very good service. The owner (F) is friendly, and even handed over the room well before check-in time.

The internet service is often unreliable. The room description says it has a balcony with city views, but it has a (depressing) balcony overlooking an interior courtyard full of rubbish. The desk is the middle section of the wardrobe, so there are no power outlets or a light. The toilet had ants. The owner (M) can often be heard shouting, always arguing about money. To get to the room, you have to walk through the restaurant and the entire building.

The location is good. The staff is very friendly. There is an Italian restaurant on the first floor. We booked a room with breakfast and had breakfast from a restaurant menu. We had dinner in the restaurant. The meal was tasty. There was live music in the restaurant on the weekend evenings. It was our best hotel in Sri Lanka.

Lovely breakfast, lovely place - some of the best Italian food in Colombo. Rooms are bright, clean and comfortable, price is more than decent, everything is top notch.

Jam was forgotten with our breakfast, croissants were a bit stale. But all in all, a very good stay.

We have been staying at Dolce Italia for last two years on every visit to Colombo...wonderful little hotel, excellent restaurant and patisserie..close to everything...will continue staying there

Wszystko było super! Pokoje czyste, przestronne. Była klimatyzacja i wiatrak. Obsługa bardzo miła. Pozwolili nam wejść do pokoju kilka godzin przez oficjalną godziną zameldowania. Na powitanie dostaliśmy świeżo wyciskany napój. Kawałek od centrum, ale okolica spokojna a niedaleko jest spory sklep spożywczy. Polecam!

Excellent staff performance comparable to high end hotels. The whole experience is still very nostalgic it felt like we were at home
