Posizione ottima. La mattina preparano una colazione deliziosa. Ogni tanto si possono avvistare qualche animale. Noi abbiamo visto delle scimmiette e un pavone.

L’unica pecca è che non ci sono dei tappeti in bagno

Hôtel plutôt bien placé dans le centre de Mirissa. En revanche notre chambre n’était pas vraiment propre, elle sentait l’humidité et la cigarette. Le personnel était en revanche très sympathique.

We really liked the convenient location and the good breakfast. Really worth for the price.

Ubytování schované mimo velice rušnou ulici, majitelé opravdu milí a snažili se všemu vyhovět i nedostatkům, které se vyskytly, moc laskaví a srdeční lidé snaží se aby bylo vše v pořádku...

Bohužel jsme přijeli v době kdy je tam b období dešťů a vlhka a to se také projevilo na ubytování, postele i zdi byly vlhké, ale za to majitelé nemohou..

If you're looking for a place that feels less like a hotel and more like a home, Poppies is exactly that. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that made my stay truly memorable. The home-cooked food was absolutely incredible, fresh, authentic, and honestly too good to be true. Every meal felt like it was prepared with love. The property is spotless, beautifully maintained, and offers a peaceful atmosphere that's hard to find in a busy tourist destination like Mirissa. After spending the day exploring crowded beaches and streets, coming back to Poppies was incredibly calming. One thing that really stood out was the kindness of the host Mr Ranjith. I had accidentally forgotten my mobile charger, and despite having only one for himself, Mr Ranjith generously lent it to me without hesitation. It's small gestures like these that show how much they genuinely care about their guests. I would especially recommend Poppies to solo travellers, particularly women, as it felt extremely safe, comfortable, and welcoming throughout my stay. If you're visiting Mirissa and want amazing food, a peaceful environment, and hosts who treat you like family, don't think twice, stay at Poppies. I would happily return again.

Everything was perfect! Highly recommending this place. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The location is brilliant—everything is within easy reach, just a short walk away. We especially loved how the property is hidden in a courtyard, offering total privacy and a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. No complaints at all, a solid 10/10!

Strom wurde zwischen 9-17 abgeschlaten, Kondensat der Klimaanlage lief über Steckdose, teilweise leichten Schimmelbefall

I stayed for one week and everything went very well. The staff were very kind, helpful, and attentive. It’s a small and peaceful hotel with excellent value for money. The hotel is also very well located, close to the beach.

I’m a Sri Lankan🇱🇰 and I stayed days at Poppies.Its located the center or Mirissa city, near to all Mirissa cafes and beaches. The owner was very kind lady. Specially the staff is very supportive at anytime. I got the AC - Delux room which is more n more comfortable and had a soothing time.Hopefully I’m again come to Mirissa in the end of June and gonna stay at Poppies again.

The hotel is very nice and peaceful. You can sleep quietly and comfortably, and the location is excellent. It’s close to the beach and near some of the best places in Mirissa, such as Secret Beach and Coconut Tree Hill. I had a problem with my room, and as soon as I informed them, they changed it immediately and helped me move all my luggage and everything from the room. The people at the hotel are truly amazing — very friendly, always smiling, cooperative, and they helped me a lot with recommendations for the best places to visit and how to get there. I really highly recommend this hotel for its location, the wonderful staff, the peaceful atmosphere, and the good restaurants nearby.

Wir mussten beim Einchecken bezahlen ohne vorher das Zimmer gesehen zu haben. Im Zimmer selbst war Schimmel an einer Wand im Schlafzimmer und im Bad. Man konnte die Zimmertür nicht von außen abschließen, es waren zahlreiche Mücken und ein Gecko im Zimmer. Wir haben uns aufgrund der Umstände entschieden direlt wieder auszuchecken. Der angekündigte Anrurf vom Management hat uns nie erreicht. Wir haben nicht einen Cent zurück bekommen.

The staff here are so friendly and we’re working really hard to deliver breakfast and ensure the place operated well. The mattress was comfortable. The shower had a door which meant the whole floor didn’t get wet. The water pressure was good. The location is good you can access the beach across the road, although it is through a beach front restaurant which was a bit awkward. Also close to the supermarket and restaurant. The breakfast was good, toast, eggs, fruit juice, and tea. This is great value for money if you’re on a budget.

The room could really do with one proper deep clean and some touch ups. E.g. removing the dust from the corners of the room, wiping every surface down properly, painting over some deterioration in the bathroom. Unfortunately we had a lot of insects, lizards, mosquitoes, spiders etc in the room which I know is difficult to manage in a jungle like environment but I think there are some holes that could be patched up that would help with this. The rooms don’t get much natural light either which might contribute to a funky smell.

翌日のミリッサのホエールウォッチングに参加するために宿泊しました。 トゥクトゥクで、ホエールウォッチングの場所まで、5-10分程度と便利です。 ビーチまで、道路を渡るだけというアクセスの良さでした。

Sortie baleines prévue en passant par l’hôtel mais le matin ils nous ont oublié … nous avons attendus 50 min jusqu’à ce qu’un employé de l’hôtel arrive, il n’a pas compris que le tuktuk n’était pas venu nous chercher. Nous l’avons interpellé mais la personne ne parlait pas très bien anglais donc à chaque interaction il faut passer par une communication téléphonique avec sa supérieure. Gratuité des bouteilles d’eau : nous n’avons eu le droit qu’à une petite bouteille par personne pour 3 nuits réservées dans cet hotel. C’est la première fois que nous sommes confrontés à cela … sachant que l’eau n’est pas potable c’est très limite à notre goût.

Mosquito Every Where

The night staff tried to help to the best of their ability

Our room was infested with mosquitoes, when night staff were informed of this they tried helping and tried getting in touch with their manger for us, we asked if there was any chance we could change rooms as there was rooms showing available on booking.com still for that night. The night staff reviewed the problem in the room and it was apparent that he was also disgusted with how many there were. They were in the bed, in the toilet, in the wardrobe and coming out of the aircon. When we did manage to talk to the manger on the phone, she claimed it was our fault for the mosquitoes being in the room then hung up the phone on us. There were no mosquito repellent objects in the room, and when we asked for some from the night staff they informed this was the cause of the infestation and was shocked to be informed of this. When we reinformed the manager of this she began shouting down the phone at us and her employees. We asked the manager for a refund within the first hour of us being at the property, the manager hung up the phone again. The room was damp and made all of our belongings damp to the point where we have had to pay for laundry in a different place to get them cleaned, this was a huge inconvenience for us considering none of our items were out of our bags. The floor was even wet that’s how damp the room was. We were told to leave the aircon on and not to open any windows as the room would become infested, however this was not the case and in fact the rubbish bins not being emptied next to our room the whole 4 days. We could not sit comfortably outside our room due to the infestation of the property and made the stay very unpleasant and uncomfortable.

Sehr hellhörig, wir hatten das Zimmer direkt neben der Rezeption, in der Nacht hat der Mitarbeiter Video-Spiele (Pistolen-Spiele) gespielt und das war sehr sehr laut. Trotz Aufforderung, kein stoppen. Keine Auswahl beim Frühstück. Entweder man mag es oder hat Pech. Personal absolut Inkompetent. Fließendes Wasser gab es oft nicht. Manchmal zu kalt, manchmal zu heiß. Wir mussten in der Nacht abreisen, kein Entgegenkommen bzgl. Frühstück to go, sehr unflexibel. Wir haben nicht einmal eine Banane bekommen. Mitarbeiter spuckte in den Garten vor unsere Terasse beim Vorbeilaufen. Schlechteste Unterkunft und Personal die wir in Sri Lanka hatten!

Nous y étions avec nous deux filles de 5 et 8 ans. La chambre reste petite pour 4 mais ce n'est pas un problème pour des séjours courte durée. Nous avons accès à une cuisine commune si besoin. Le logement est situé au cœur de mirissa. La plage est accessible à pied, ce qui est très appréciable.

Poppies was very disappointing but the young girl on reception was very helpful with changing us to a better room.

The property was not well maintained, railings on walkways were rusted through and loose, which could be dangerous for children. Generally untidy throughout. How ever the location is good.

The Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and the room size was good.

There was an issue with the air conditioning. I was not able to control it from the controller so had to turn on and off manually from the wall switch at night. The cleanliness of the bathroom was very poor. Mould behind the tap in the sink and the basin. The shower floor was dirty and the tap on the sink was loose. I travelled with a 6 year old and it was very difficult without a fridge and a microwave in the room

Place was cheap and close to beach.

Air Condition was very very loud. There were worms in one of the showers ( we had 3 rooms ). 1 of the 3 staff spoke English. Plus were 2 Ruddy mongoose that are runnijg around all the time.

The staff here were lovely and incredibly friendly. Big comfy room with hot water, big bed and balcony. Breakfast was delicious.

There was no wifi while we were at this property, they were arranging to get it fixed. We had some washing done and when it came back two days later it was still pretty damp. We asked for it to be hung out again but it still wasn’t dry when it came back to us. Pretty disappointing.

The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The location was perfect—close to restaurants and Mirissa beach. The breakfast was good. There was fresh fruit juice, toasts and egg. They also served coffee or tea.

The only minor issue was that the Wi-Fi didn’t work during one evening. Payment for the stay was taken on arrival day.

the hotel condition is very bad- full of mosquitoes. The room gets cleaned after2 days, staff does not converse with you. They dont provide waterbottles , the facility is not clean - all plastic bottles, jar kept, the rooms are stuffy

Abbiamo avuto qualche problema con i cuscini, che ci hanno cambiato, e con l aria condizionata che non funzionava e hanno sostituito il motore in giornata. Posizione ottima e centrale sia per raggiungere spiagge, che ristoranti e i negozi. Ambiente carino, ma manca la cura dei dettagli

El personal es muy amable y atento en todo momento. Tuvimos un incidente con una cucaracha y enseguida vinieron a ayudarnos (a echarla) y de muy buen humor. Está muy cerca de la playa y con restaurantes cerca. Es un hotel tranquilo y agradable, con el desayuno típico. Estuvimos cuatro personas en una habitación y sin problema.

Everything was perfect from start to finish: the warm welcome, the beautiful rooms, the incredible breakfast, and the attentive service throughout. clean and big room with spotless linen. perfect facilities according to price. The staff took such great care of us and made us feel truly special. This is honestly one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. We even wanted to extend our stay, but the hotel is in such high demand, that it was fully booked. I really recommend this place for future guest. 100% RECOMMENDED
