Beautiful hotel perfectly situated in Lincoln centre. The room absolutely beautiful, clean and the whole place was full of charm and felt very safe with gated access. However above all the staff were the most helpful, kind and professional people I have ever dealt with. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect and we wouldn’t be more grateful.

Staff amazing! Rooms small but quaint. A couple of details that would’ve made it perfect, bar facilities would have been great. Cleanliness, really good but fan in room dusty so wouldn’t have wanted to put that on. That’s picking though as do not want to take away the superb overall experience.

The complimentary Quissants where a lovely touch. The location was perfect for visiting Lincoln and all the shops. The price was very good for the accommodation

Guests were trusted to do without constantly present staff on the premises, but that was sometimes a disadvantage.

Lovely old building in the heart of Lincoln but so peaceful inside. Very pretty location.

This answer is personal to me and in no way a reflection on the hotel. My mobility isn’t great and this hotel is located on Steep Hill, so for people with limited mobility this is something you need to bear in mind. I knew this beforehand as have visited Lincoln many times. My daughter was graduating from the University there and wanted to be as close to the Cathedral as I could be. The staff couldn’t do enough for you, they’re helpful and approachable.

Ich war schon mehrere Male im Old Palace und habe jetzt alle Kategorien durch. Das Ambiente ist einfach unschlagbar. Alle Zimmer sind Top, nur die Grand Suite mit Ihrem Extravaganten Badezimmer ist eine eigene Welt. Der Parkplatz direkt an der Unterkunft ist Goldwert, da man in einer Minute am Castle Hill und somit im historischen Zentrum ist.

1. Der Parkplatz hat ein großes Problem. Die großen Bäume unter denen man Parkt verlieren im Frühjahr Pollen/Harz und die Tauben (mit ihren Hinterlassenschaften) finden die Bäume auch ganz toll. Das Hotel hat extra Eimer mit Wasser und Putzuntensilien bereit gestellt um das gröbste wegzumachen, aber vielmehr können die auch nicht machen. Ich werde beim nächsten Mal (je nach Auto), eine dünne Fahrzeugabdeckung mitnehmen. 2. Das Frühstück ist sehr rudimentär. Ein Croisant, Butter, Jam und ein Joghurt. Kaffee, Tee, Milch, O-Saft ist in jedem Zimmer im Kühlschrank vorhanden. Das Hotel reserviert aber in Bell Tea Shop einen Tisch. Damit ist ein sehr vollständiges Frühstück (kostet extra) gesichert und nur eine Minute entfernt.

Lovely welcome on arrival as we were shown where to park. Even though check in was 2pm we could arrive from 12 noon onwards and our luggage would be waiting in our room. This allowed a few more hours to explore the old town. Our room was fabulous, probably the best in terms of character that we have ever stayed in. An incredible find

Beautiful quiet spot in the middle of Lincoln. Staff were friendly, welcoming, very pleasant and helpful. Beautiful building and room, lovely hearing the birds and wind in the trees.

An interesting property in a great location

The staff were very friendly, the croissants were excellent, filtered water in the fridge was fantastic, and the bed was so comfy, the bathroom was also excellent and all in all the room was just gorgeous

The only thing I didn't like was Steep Hill, if you're walking and have lots of bags head the warning of the name Steep Hill, get a taxi

Helpful staff on check in, parking in the heart of the old town. Couldn't wish for a better location.

At 6'3" the sloped ceilings were a problem. Unnecessary giant sink in the bathroom that is right by the loo, that means choices need to be made.

Though I enjoyed my breakfast, I missed a dining room. It was a pity, too, not to see more of the staff. When I saw them they were very friendly, but after the first day I saw nobody. As I was alone it made my stay slightly lonely.

The location is fantastic, the staff were so friendly and the room was absolutely gorgeous. The bed was so comfy and the amenities in the room were perfect. The morning breakfast bag on the door was great, freshly warmed croissants. Definitely be booking again.

The Old Palace in Lincoln is beautiful. It is close to the Lincoln Castle and has great views over the city. It is close loved the historical building and the rooms. Perfect location for the Steampunk Festival. The staff were very attentive. Thank you so much.

Beautiful medieval building so peaceful and quiet with excellent parking right in the middle of the city. We wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else. Sitting on the lawn with a bottle of wine listening to the cathedral bells was heavenly.

Location and warm welcome by the receptionist.

Very small bedroom with a minute window hence no ventilation. It was an extremely hot night, 2 fans were supplied but were ineffective. Poor night’s sleep. We did ask for a change of room on arrival but told they were fully booked . We had been directed by the receptionist on arrival to park under a big tree. The final straw was returning to our car in the morning and finding it covered in bird excrement which had dried solid. Can’t think this is the only time this has happened. Cars parked elsewhere weren’t touched. Spent ages trying to remove it using a bucket of water requested from the cleaner without too much success so had to pay for a car wash after leaving.

The location was fantastic! On my last night, I could hear the cathedral bells ringing in the early evening - delightful! The hotel was nestled on a plateau with gorgeous views of the city. Restaurants, pubs and shops were a very short walk away. The breakfast was hanging in a small paper bag from my door at the agreed time. I had warm, soft croissants with butter and jam, creamy yogurt and in room brewed coffee that was rich and delicious. The mini fridge had chilled water, juice and milk for tea. I was happy and content. The bed was comfortable and the thick curtains kept out the light for a good night’s sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

• I’m being really picky here because everything was brilliant but if pushed, I’d say the trees in the car park resulting in bird poo BUT there’s a cleaning station to remedy this!

We have stayed here now for many special occasions and absolutely love it! The location is perfect to experience the historic side to Lincoln with the Cathedral and the Castle right on the doorstep! The hotel is located in a neo-Gothic church, there are fragments of tracery windows in the rooms, and the atmosphere is unearthly, and the location is wonderful.

Excellent communication with the guest house. Very friendly staff. Secure parking in Lincoln old town near to the castle and cathedral. Complimentary continental breakfast, croissant and yogurt. Tea and coffee making in the room, plus water, orange juice and milk in the fridge. Plenty of hot water, great toiletries. Good wifi.

Nothing, we would stay again. The only comment is the towels could do with an upgrade, they're beginning to look a little worn.

This was a stunning place, with more than expected available for our stay. Loved the little touches such as eye mask and fan in the room. The warm croissants delivered for 7:30 was another fantastic touch. It was very central and the conversion has been done to an exceptional standard. We will be back.

We loved our stay at the Old Palace. The lady on reception was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room (grand master) was stunning and had some great touches like a fridge with fresh milk and robes & slippers. The location was brilliant for exploring local attractions like the castle and cathedral.

A beautiful room in a spectacular setting. The room was comfortable with everything you need. Loved the little extras of orange juice and warm croissants and yoghurt that were hanging on the door in the morning. Would definitely recommend.

Great location (deep in old Lincoln), fascinating building, nicely adapted, cool room on one of hottest days of the year.

The room with the arched leaded light windows was beautiful in the evening sun filling the room with brightness and colour. Comfy, large bed and clean bathroom. Location is excellent for the old city, cathedral, castle and restaurants. Private parking on site is roomy. We arrived on motorbike with full luggage and although the parking area slopes we found a spot level enough to be safe. Breakfast of warm croissant with tea coffee already in the room was welcome.

Perhaps a spot for motorcycles to make the access a little safer for rider, pillion with full luggage would be a small but welcome investment..

The only negative was that as it is central ( which is a big advantage in one way) , there are a few restricted roads you go down to get to parking- it would worth making clear that these are ok to use to get to parking.
