L’établissement se trouve dans la nature. L’endroit est très paisible. Le personnel est très attentionné et propose de nombreuses activités. L’hôte nous a aidé à organiser nos journées sur Sigirya. Très disponible en cas de besoin. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux et bien copieux. À la fin de notre séjour, nous pouvons dire que c’est l’expérience la plus mémorable que nous ayons eu au Sri Lanka.

We were a family of four, the stay was a real value for money, the owners and staffs were very friendly, the location was only a short drive away from Sigiriya Rock, Breakfast was wonderful., Beautiful location.

Habitación amplia, cama cómoda, los anfitriones pendientes de nuestras peticiones. Nos buscaron un tuk tul para ir a ver amanecer a la roca del león. El desayuno muy bueno. Y el segundo día que nos teníamos que ir pronto nos prepararon para llevar.

El aire de una de las habitaciones enfriaba poco, pero lo suficiente para pasar la noche sin calor. La otra habitación funcionaba bien.

Eieren er ganske pushy på at han skal kjøre deg rundt eller kjøpe ekstra tjenester selvom du ikke ønsker det. Han kan ikke godt engelsk og sier ofte bare ja. Det var veldig stygt bad, knust speil osv. og ingen såpe annet enn håndsåpe. Ingen vask gjøres på rommet under oppholdet

This wonderful, family-run accomodation lies in a quiet alley off the main road. It is surrounded by a beautiful garden. The hosts are very welcoming, help with everything (transport, tours, laundry) and serve the best breakfast we had on our trip in Sri Lanka! We would definitely come again and can highly recommend the place.

Great place!

Loved the location — Woodsy Villa is close to Sigiriya Rock, which made getting there easy. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, and went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. The home-cooked meals were a highlight, full of flavor and clearly made with care. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the quiet garden setting around the property gave it a lovely, peaceful feel — a real escape from the noise of a typical hotel. On top of all that, it offered excellent value for the price

Bardzo zaangażowany, miły i pomocny ale jednocześnie dyskretny personel. Dobre śniadanie. Dogodna lokalizacja obiektu - położna w zacisznym miejscu, ale blisko głównych atrakcji turystycznych (Sigiriya, Pidurangala). Możliwość zorganizowania transportu na miejscu (tuk tuk, taxi).

Hulpvaardigheid van eigenaar ging wel heel ver. Eigen excursies werden continu aangeprezen. Taxi voor ons geregeld vsn Sigiriya naar Nanu Oya. Echter in plaats van een bus werd het een vijf persoons auto waar ternauwernood onze koffers in pasten. Volle prijs van ruim 32.000 betaald waarvan eigenaar 10.000 in eigen zak stak. Beter zelf regelen dus.

The town is divided into multiple little hubs and this was right within walking distance to one of them & positioned perfectly between others for an easy commute. The breakfasts were great and generous and the family that runs the space is super cute and friendly. Rooms were well air conditioned and clean and they offered fresh water which is not something we have found at every space in Sri Lanka. Would recommend

Das Essen war ein Traum. Jeden Tag gibt es ein anderes traditionelles Frühstück mit eine Fruchtshake. Abends kann man essen vorab bestellen. Es gibt sogar einen Nachtisch. Sehr klein und ruhig. Mitten im Grünen und nur 7min vom Lions Rock entfernt.

Durch die Feuchtigkeit riechen die Handtücher und die Bettwäsche etwas.

We had a wonderful stay at Woodsy Villa! The hosts were incredibly kind, helpful and always happy to organize trips and transportation for us. The location is perfect for exploring Sigiriya and the surrounding attractions. The breakfast was delicious with local food, and the whole atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making our stay so special!

Les hôtes sont toujours très souriants, très agréables. Ils nous ont donnés de bons conseils pour les excursions et nous ont mis en relation pour effectuer un safari ainsi que pour un transfert en taxi. Chambres confortables, propres et spacieuses. Les petits déjeuner sont très bons, copieux et variés. Les dîners faits maison très bons. Je recommande aussi cet endroit au calme, en pleine nature.

Die Hosts waren überaus freundlich, haben uns bei allen Belangen geholfen und das beste Frühstück zubereitet. Außerdem haben sie freundlicherweise eine hervorragende Safari für uns organisiert.

Lovely family, they could not be more helpful! They made us feel very welcome and safe. Short distance to local coffee shops and restaurants. Amazing breakfast served every morning, so much food!!!

We didn’t realise our room would have no A/C. The room smelt a little damp possibly because no air con. Otherwise it was clean and decent facilities for price.

The staff - wife and husband - were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous, delicious. The room was OK - the size, cleanliness, comfortability.

The shower and toilet room needs to be more comfortable, but this was a minor and our stay overall was superb.

Общение было не много навязчиво. Было сложно протолкнуть свою позицию и на «нет» не реагировали или игнорировали.

Tout était parfait : les dîners, les petits déjeuners, le calme de l’endroit. Chambre très grande. Les propriétaires sont d’une inébranlable gentillesse. Le propriétaire vous fera faire des tour tuktuk et vous emmènera où vous avez besoin et cela sans vous demander quoi que ce soit. Je recommande les yeux fermés et je n’oublierai jamais ces personnes.

Cosy & comfortable rooms. Clean and spacious. Breakfast was good. Huge spread. Location quite good. 2 kms from Lion rock. 4 kms from Pidurangala. The couple who runs this place are really warm and friendly.

Very nice host family, who helped us getting around by organizing our local tours and taxi transfer. Lovely Sri Lankan dinner and good breakfast. The location is nice and quiet, but not far from the sights.

ツアーを柔軟に組んでもらえました。特に、青果市場に連れて行っていただいて、食べたことのないフルーツをたくさん食べさせてもらえたことがとても思い出になりました。個人旅行だからこそ、得られた経験です。場所も落ち着いている場所で清潔でした。

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they immediately made us feel at home by offering refreshments upon arrival. The environment of the property was also extremely beautiful, as it was filled with a wide range of flowers and greenery. The atmosphere was very calming, and was perfect for a holiday. Furthermore, the room itself was very clean, and all the facilities worked well. Throughout our stay, the staff were very accommodating, as they helped with laundry, and offered us a delicious wide platter of fruit and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast items each morning.

The room was spacious and very comfortable for 4 people. As per all comments, the best is the owners who would go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They help us with all the tours and transportations. Breakfast was abundant! Very well priced for all that you get. Strongly recommend staying here!!

The owners are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They regularly asked us if needed anything. We were provided with a very nice breakfast with a range of foods. The place is a short tuk tuk ride from the entrance to climb Lion rock in Sigriya and the owner did us a pick and drop for a very small fee. Small family run guesthouse very suitable for few days stay. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

Nice location, clean and comfortable place and friendly staff. They provide great breakfast. They were also kind enough to pack breakfast on the day we had to go early to lion rock.

We are so grateful that we stayed at Woodsy Villa. The host family was simply amazing to us, and so were the home-cooked meals. They were so kind and always trying to connect with us and explain the sights and experiences on offer in the Sigiriya area. The room itself was very big, very comfortable and immaculately clean. The grounds and garden are beautiful and serene, so we loved every second of our stay. We will be back for sure. ♥️

Leaving

The rooms were very clean. The owners were exceptionally friendly and served a really tasty local breakfast. We also took a tuk tuk ride with the owner to Dambulla for our bus to Kandy and he told us a lot of interesting things about the area and Sri Lanka overall.

It was good. But we reached late.

TV not there and AC was not working and remote was not there.

We highly recommend Woodsy Villa! It is run by the loveliest and most helpful family Piyal, Buddhika & Chamahdi (sorry if I spelt your names wrong!) The food is amazing! We tried some really yummy vegetable curries made by Buddhika that we had not tried anywhere else in Sri Lanka (and kottu). They organised a fantastic day trip for us where we visited Polonnaruwa and the elephant safari Eco Park in a jeep with a friend of Piyal. It was really reasonable and we had the jeep to ourselves ☺️ They also recommended a really amazing new Ayurvedic centre nearby where we had amazing 3 hour treatments in the evening. Piyal has a tuktuk and is very happy to drive you to where you need to go. He can also drop you to Lions Rock for sunrise. The rooms are super clean and comfortable with good A/C and nets. We were offered a room clean and linen change after just two nights of staying! They’ve really gone above and beyond to help us and keep saying “happiness first, money later” which we love! The family who runs it is very friendly, the daughters speak good English and the mother makes abundant and tasty meals. The father tries his best to be around (a bit too much). Their treatment of guests is commendable.

We are very surprised other people gave this a 9/10 and said it had the best internet in Sigiriya (we're working remotely), and perhaps we've been very lucky with the other places, but this one was definitely way below average. Objectively, this is not near as good as other places that charged us the same price. - Overall: the "villa" is 2 or 3 cottages with a very basic room each (old and un-homely, separated by a neglected patch of land) + the family home, where the old "uncle" lives and chews betel around the area all day (he doesn't speak a word of English, even though he does the check-ins when the owners are not home). - Room: very poorly lit, with no blankets, and it always smells like damp (if you leave the windows open while you're away, they close them). The bathroom has an added-on shower glued to the wall to replace the built-in one (which maybe once worked); no body wash or shampoo is provided, and the hand wash had been abused. When we arrived, there was a small old towel hanging tilted and wrinkled on the bar, and even though it looked unclean, we had to use it cause we were not given any hand towels. - Location: the location is VERY DODGY, no lighting and on a dirt road; there are supposed to be more hotels/restaurants according to Maps, but all of them looked closed or always empty. It's close enough to Lion's Rock to charge a markup, but far enough to have to go by tuktuk, so don't book it for that. - Wifi: good for emails/whatsapp but not enough for videocalls. We had to use our phone data. - Hosts: the owner asked "what's the plan for today?" 4 times a day, even though we told him multiple times that we worked in the afternoon, and he didn't understand much English so conversations were a bit absurd. He kept on offering to take us with his tuk tuk for a price, but then we'd have to wait for him to be ready or he'd charge us more than Pickme.

Had an amazing stay at Woodsy villa. It's a great place, kind of village stay with warm and helpful host. Amenities are clean. Breakfast and dinner choices are limited, but the host is quite helpful to make up for it.

The room was very clean. The host is wonderful and we made arrangements for him to collect us from Dambulla bus station and go to the cave temple on the way back to the guest house for a reasonable cost. His family is delightful. Very informative and helpful with public transportation information. The breakfast is massive, we took some away for our lunch. The location is a 45min walk to Pidurangala, and so potentially you would need a tuktuk to get to the centre of town and rocks ( we like to walk)

Everything about our stay was perfect. We had a very comfortable room with our own outdoor sitting area. The room was well appointed with many extras that we didn’t have in other accommodations. The food was delicious and plentiful for breakfast and dinner, and was served in an open air dining room just for guests. Our host arranged an amazing elephant safari trip..we seemed to have the best driver and we saw many elephants up close. He also got up before 5 to drive us to Pidurangala Rock for sunrise. An added bonus were the monkeys around the property. The family was so kind to us, bringing tea and coffee after our outings, sharing information about their country, providing information about buses etc. Two days was far too short!

This guesthouse is hosted by the sweetest family. Very responsive and available. I would definitely give a higher than ten rating to this place if possible!! The house is surrounded by greenery, very peaceful place but walking distance to the small town center and close to Lion Rock. The room and bathroom are clean, comfortable, spacious, and good shower. They welcomed me with coffee/tea and water. I work remotely and the wifi works great, reliable for zoom calls, etc. Breakfast is a delicious Sri Lankan style, very complete. The family can arrange transportation in their tuktuk or tours to the attractions, very trustworthy.  They don't accept card but this is actually normal in Sri Lanka. Most places are cash only. There's ATMs near by.

This stay is a little paradise hidden in the woods with super kind and helpful owners that helped us with every information to explore the beauty of Sigyria. They even provided us with a take away breakfast since we were leaving early in the morning on our last day. Thank you soo much for everything.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, there was hot water and air conditioning. The accommodation is located down a quiet street in Sigiriya, very peaceful but a short walk or tuk tuk to the centre. The real highlight was the host, he was very friendly and went out of his way to accommodate us. He organised a jeep tour to Polonnaruwa and an elephant safari, and drove us in his tuk tuk to Pidurangala rock for sunset and Lion rock for sunrise. The breakfast was wonderful and we also had dinner here which was convenient and delicious. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone visiting sigiriya.

What a wonderful place. From the very start, we had great communication with quick responses to my questions. Upon arrival my daughter and I were welcomed with warmth and friendly smiles. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and spacious. Every breakfast was delicious. We also had an exceptional dinner one night (with beer). Our vegan diet was easily catered for. Rain changed our plans, so our hosts helped organise a fabulous vegan cooking class and a trip to a gorgeous ayurvedic spa. The host has a tuk tuk and drove us to Lion Rock for our sunrise summit. We had a tour around Sigiriya with stops at local sights and viewpoints. He also organised a wonderful combined day trip in a jeep to Polonnaruwa and then an elephant safari. We felt special and cared for at Woodsy Villa. We would love to go back one day.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The warmth and helpfulness of the hosts, the large rooms with good facilities and the excellent breakfast in a very quiet, shady place with beautiful vegetation made our stay something special.

We were sorry, that we not had enough time to stay longer.

We stayed in 5 different homestays while in Sri Lanka, and I have to say that Woodsy Villa is the BEST. The bed is comfortable - we had a very good sleep. The place is silent and peaceful. The facilities work very well. The staff are friendly, responsive and helpful. They offer tuktuk rides for very reasonable price. Above all, the breakfast served is PERFECT. We highly recommend this place when in Sigiriya.

The host and his family are very nice and welcoming. Our room was ok and had a lot of space and a nice porch where we also had very nice breakfast (1000 r.s.) which was totally worth it. The Host also offered to drive us to the places we wanted to see for a reasonable price which was very convenient when starting at 5 in the morning to see the sunrise from Pidurangala. Good value for money, we would recommend to stay here.
