Very Central for an overnighter

The room in the house and The shared kitchen in the house. We way preferred the cottages

We did not have breakfast. The beds were phenomenal - normally the beds are soft and give me backache for a day thereafter but these beds felt like our own! Very comfortable overnight stay!

The owner/host was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating from the moment we arrived. She personally opened the gate for us and greeted us warmly, which immediately made us feel comfortable and at home. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade, which was such a lovely gesture and really added to our experience. The stay itself was wonderful and exactly what we needed. The accommodation was comfortable, peaceful, and provided the perfect environment for a good night’s sleep. We had a great stay overall and truly appreciated the warm hospitality and thoughtful service. We would definitely be happy to stay here again!

There was honestly nothing about our stay that we did not like. Everything was absolutely wonderful, from the warm and friendly welcome we received from the host to the comfortable and peaceful accommodation. The entire experience was smooth, pleasant, and exceeded our expectations. The host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable, and we truly appreciated the kindness and hospitality shown to us. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, quiet, and ideal for a relaxing stay and a good night’s sleep. We could not fault anything and were extremely happy with our experience. Overall, it was a lovely stay, and we would happily return in the future. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, peaceful, and welcoming stay.

Very disappointing arrival experience We were really disappointed with our experience at The Fancy Cactus. We had confirmed our expected arrival time and, according to our GPS, arrived at the property at the agreed time. We waited outside for approximately 20 minutes and tried the intercom service twice, leaving messages, but received no response. I then tried calling Elizma three times and left a message explaining that, as nobody was answering or opening the property, we would have to leave. Only after this did Elizma return the call. Unfortunately, the conversation with my husband was unnecessarily snarky, and we were asked to provide proof that we had attempted to make contact. We subsequently sent proof of our calls and messages and requested a refund. We never got to stay at the property, so we cannot comment on the accommodation itself. However, being left outside after travelling a long distance, despite having confirmed our arrival time and repeatedly trying to make contact, was extremely disappointing. Based on our arrival experience and the way the situation was handled, we would not book this property again.

Leider wurde morgens um 9.30 vom Personal unsere Tür geöffnet, ohne vorher zu klopfen, Tür wurde dann noch nicht mal geschlossen, nur angelehnt. Keine Entschuldigung, nichts...

The location was easily accessible for a trip to Mosselbay. The accommodation was beautiful and comfortable. Was also good to notice provision is made for secure parking; also for trailers, etc.

Rooms clean, well equipped, comfortable. Easy in and out check. Staff exceptional friendly and helpfull. Option to order dinner from local restaurant and get it delivered is a bonus.

Lovely gardens behind secure high walls and gates, offering safe parking for vehicles and an inviting spot to enjoy the late afternoon sun upon arrival. Nicely appointed, comfortable room and bathroom, neat and clean, kitchenette good. Welcomed by host. Will make this a regular overnight stop between Johannesburg and the Cape.

Early morning wake up call from the roosters, though that is a small price to pay for being out of the city. Would appreciate a glass in the bathroom and perhaps instant coffee as well as filter coffee.

Very lovely accomodation , it is always our accomodation of choice when staying overnight

Usually we are accommodated with late check in , unfortunately this time we were not able to. So we had to really drive fast to get there despite the roads being busy. The owner as apparently overseas. We were actually told we were going to lose the accomodation and the money we paid and we would have to find alternative accomodation.

Dog friendly place

They need to put chicken mesh on the gates to cater for small dogs. Just a suggestion

All was neat, spacious and in good taste. Host was friendly and helpful. Location is great and easy to find, close to restaurants. Lots of safe and easy parking. All perfect - thank you!

Water splashes over onto bathroom floor when you shower - this is not a complaint, only to bring it to the attention of the hosts.

Manageress was great, payment process is an issue, have to pay via another website, why not automated like other accommodation I dont know.

Do not understand why front door looking into room is glass with some frosting, anyone can look in. Privacy not great.

We had to keep going to unit next door to seitchbonnthe outside lights and use the aircon remote as ours did not work.

It’s nice and quiet.

The remote didn’t work, I had to disturb neighbours to open for me, and that was uncomfortable thing to do.

The TV in my room was not working and the shower is leaking which meant that I had to take a very short shower and thereafter dry the floors with the towel. My first stay at room 5 in 2025 Jan was the greatest experience.

It was a nice relaxed atmosphere when we stopped.. room was very clean and all goods was in place. Even menus from the local restaurants. Hostess was very helpful and it was a great sleepover.

Oh the only complaint is the short channels on dstv. We were hoping to catch a rugby came or 2 but the lower package doesnt involve that.

Very comfortable stay, and such friendly staff. We even got a free room upgrade. Lots of great restaurant recommendations and even somewhere that delivers for a relaxed night in after a long drive.

Unfortunately, the walls between rooms are quite thin, and sound carries easily. I could hear the person next door snoring, which impacted my overall stay.

Perfectly located, beautifully decorated. The staff is also very attentive and amazing hosts.

Lovely room, super comfy and clean!

Location was ideal for a stopover, quiet yet not far from the highway. Rooms were great, and self catering room was well equipped and pet friendly

On arrival the entrance is not even marked so I didn't know where to go before I called and the door was opened The hidden R100-00 parking charge... Never before have I been charged for parking... anywhere! I couldn't find a place to pay... Only when the staff desperately what's apped me for payment... That's when I discovered the hidden paving charge because they asked for a larger payment than what was advertised The room smelled of smoke There are no opening windows No hairdryer No barfridge in the room The coffee would not even melt in hot water ( goodness knows how old the stuff was) There were only Rooibos teabags... and who knows how old they were Not even a rusk or a small breakfast

All was excellent. I just couldn't lock the door from inside as the key would jam. Facilites were great, comfortable bed, secure parking a bonus, hostess was lovely and informative.

Just that I couldn't get the door to my room to lock. So I slept with it unlocked. Luckily being a property with good security, I didn't feel unsafe.
