Beautiful country feel

We loved the river view and the decor in the room. It is close to the highway but there is no traffic noise.

The electric plug in the room was a bit dodgy.

We hebben deze plek gebruikt als tussenstop in onze reis vanuit Johannesburg naar het zuiden. Het was een heerlijke plek, vriendelijk personeel, goede faciliteiten en lekker eten! De gezamenlijke Boma is erg gezellig ingericht. Het voelt als een huiskamer. Erg fijn om als het nodig is (bijv bij regen, zoals bij ons), je daar te kunnen vermaken. Er is ook een gym aanwezig op het terrein.

Alles beviel ons! Mogelijk voor mensen die luxe zeer belangrijk vinden zou de badkamer iets verouderd kunnen aanvoelen.

Beautiful location right on the river

Facilities were great, staff was super friendly and organised something nice for my anniversary, have a variety of things to do for a remote place.

The no pets in the restaurant was not honoured by guests but neither enforced by staff. Had 2 uncomfortable nights with guests who had dogs they couldn't control. The staff was also visibly uncomfortable working around them.

Amazing location on the Orange River!

The Stable Room without windows was not our first choice!! We had meals in the boma which had a lovely view over the river. The evening meal we had a waiter serve us. Because we had our Yorkshire Terrier Monty with us we could not eat in the restaurant. We were happy to sit with him in the Boma. Dinner was great & we were served but breakfast was difficult. Because we had no service!! We suggested a service station & waiter to assist those with pets who are not permitted into the restaurant. The distance from the restaurant to the Boma is a fair walking distance. The food was cold & not pleasant. We had no waiter assist or to welcome us!

This is a beautiful Lodge on the riverbed of the Orange River. The views are incredible and a little walk-way takes you down right to the river with breath-taking sunsets over the river. The rooms are stunning, the food at the restaurant was REALLY good and the staff were professional, friendly and very helpful. I travelled with my puppy and this is a very pet-friendly establishment. There are big rolling lawns between the rooms and the river, perfect for a fury friend to stretch their legs after a long day in the car. I will definitely be returning to Tzamenkomst and can highly recommend it.

I appreciated that i was able to check in very late without any fuss and could immediately get to rest in my room.

Very conveniently located as the perfect pit stop from Cape Town to Johannesburg. The staff are amazing and provide wonderful service. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious

The location of the river lodge is tranquil and beautiful. We could enjoy a drink on the bank of the orange river while the sun was setting.

Bar service slow and no stock of Merlot wine. Room location far from restaurant so will request a different room next time.

They should have some emergency lights in the bedroom.

The rooms are very spacious and modern. I loved it.

Next time I’ll book at the main lodge where dinner is served. No problem however.

On the Orange River and Lots of space

The stables were large and spacious, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming. The restaurant served good food at reasonable prices.

This time around, however, we were placed in the stables at the back of the property, with no view of the river and either a fairly long walk or a short drive to reach the main building. The most frustrating part was the constant stream of vehicles passing at speed, kicking up dust and making the area noisy and unpleasant. It rather reinforced the feeling that we had been tucked away in the wrong part of the property.

Setting was amazing! Room was very satisfactory. Dinner excellent.

A beautiful property with spectacular views of the Orange River. Tastefully decorated rooms which were warm and cozy despite the winter conditions. The bar area was a welcoming space for watching the rugby and dinner and breakfast were delicious. We will return.

We had a wonderful stay. This place is a real gem! The décor is beautiful, the surroundings are peaceful, and the scenery is absolutely stunning. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and made us feel at home. We would definitely stay here again.

The main area is on the Oranje River, which has a beautiful view and an amazing sunset. Staff is very attentive and friendly.

The rooms we stayed in is not next to the river and that you cannot see on Booking. Although it says “garden view” its not clear that the rooms are a actually 1km away from the river.

The location, it makes the road trip so comfortable, it was our 3rd time staying in the past 18 months

Die Lage am Orange River ist phantastisch, die Zimmer sind hervorragend ausgestattet und sehr gemütlich. Wir haben schon das 2te Mal auf dem Weg zum Krüger Park dort übernachtet.

Neat rooms, comfortable beds and delicious food. Such a peaceful place to visit.

Absolutely nothing that we didn't like. The family in stable next to us were just very loud and busy before dawn but we could handle that..must have been excitement from kids.

There was no bowl or anything for my pet for water or food and had to pay R200 pet fee

This was our second stay in a week. Did bring to the attention of staff that the electric blanked was not working on our first stay. Was not sorted on our return.

Very beautiful setting. Heaters and heated blankets fantastic in the rooms. We enjoyed a good walk on the farm and the MTB riding looked really good. Nice decor!

The most incredible place to stay! Beautiful views of the river, stunning accommodation, friendly staff who took great care of us, and delicious food! We could not have asked for a better stay! Just divine!

Location and surrounds.

Lodge room 4 is nowhere as nice as 2 in which we stayed the previously.

This was our second time staying there. One of our favotrite stop over when we travel across South Africa. Fantastic accommodation - the design of chalet and rooms is good. We can enjoy nature with family. The main lodge and dining area is also amazing.

This was not really bad thing (understandable) Our riverside chalet did not have water from around 20:00 because of the machine issue. But the staff were flexible, so we could use the bath room in another room. Thank you :)

Beautiful setting and spacious well decorated rooms. Lovely ambiance and good breakfast with freshly baked bread and pastries is a highlight. Staff is friendly and willing to help. Many areas to ralax with beautiful view of the Orange River.

Unfortunately our 2 rooms were very far away from each other - one being on a completely different premises called The Stables and allbeit also a nice place we did not like our children to be that far away from us. Staff seem to struggle with the rush at breakfast with some food running out and not being replaced so we had to go without.

Nothing actually. Everything was of high standard. Beautiful facility. Serene, relaxing surroundings. All the staff, with Maxwell and Carl leading, showed generous and quality hospitality. Impressive.

Absolute hidden gem. The lodge is absolutely stunning with such well designed and modern furniture and decor. The boma area and pool was breathtaking with a stunning views of the Orange River. It will definitely motivate us to do the drive from Jhb to Cape Town again, just to stay over at the lodge.

We were greeted by very friendly and efficient staff. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and being able to have dinner at the property was a bonus. We will be back.

The staff were amazing. We were not the normal guests that overnight; we spent a few days connecting with friends at the venue. Staff helped make extra effort with our children ( aged 6 and 2), and when dinner time arose, they were always chatting away with the children. Those electric blankets was amazing in for those winter nights.

If i had to put something i would say Limited dinner options

The entire facility was beautiful, the room and bathroom was spacious, the meals were delicious, it was too short while travelling for business.

The location is incredibly beautiful and staff are extremely helpful and friendly!

Truly a Gem in the Karoo! Beautiful lodge with excellent rooms and decor. Very comfortable beds with enough warm blankets and an electric under blanket for the cold nights. Nature at its best! Spectacular sunsets! Friendly staff and good food. We always return to this lodge to unwind after a long drive and can recommend it to families and couples.

Loved the situation on the river. Staff were exceptional. A gem of a stop and next time we will make it 2 days.

After a long trip it was lovely to walk into a warm and welcoming room on a freezing cold day. The staff were not only friendly and professional but went out of their way to assist and to accommodate special requests. I will definitely be back.

Lovely setting on the banks of the Orange river. Peaceful, tranquil and safe as it is far removed from the main road. Very friendly and efficient staff, and delicious evening meal. Breakfast very good with great coffee selection. Bedroom en suite spacious, comfortable and clean. Large king-size bed and full bathroom with enormous walk-in shower. Highly recommended!

Everything ! Large clean room with an open fire and an electric blanket and a wonderful view over the Orange River. Dinner was lovely too, the lamb was cooked perfectly.
