Location a bit far

The location was good - near the Russian market with easy Tuktuk access to the rest of the city. The owners were friendly when I arrived and helpful throughout my stay. And true to it's name, the environment was quite peaceful.

The room was very hot and not very clean. I left my bags in one corner of the room and when I came back there were tiny insects crawling all over them. Fortunately I encountered no bugs on the bed itself, but there were hundreds in other places. The bathrooms were too small and not very clean, with very little toilet paper. There was very limited space in general, with no AC or cooling system. I am not sure if even the affordable pricetag makes up for these disadvantages.

Proprios très gentils, des espaces pour se poser. Propreté ok. Emplacement un peu loin du centre mais pour un séjour authentique c'est bien. il est situé dans la périphérie proche près du russian market, lieu de visite possible. Pas de clim et d'aération à part par une petite fenêtre alors il peut faire très chaud en période chaude (avril mai juin principalement) mais si vous ne craignez pas la chaleur avec le ventilo ça le fait.

Beautiful family, great location, quiet and secure and great value

The equipments advertised were there : fridge in the room, kettle accessible (in commun areas), AC. The bed itself was comfortable.

Our stay didn't start the best way. Since the morning, we were texting them to ask if a late checking would be accepted as we knew we were coming a bit late (between 10 and 11pm). They were only replying with generic texts, without answering our questions. At 9pm they started asking at what time we would come and again, the communication was very hard, probably due to English and language issues. In the end, when we were finally getting there and were only 5 more minutes away, at 10:50pm, they texted to enquire that we book somewhere else (this time in a perfect english ironically). As we were so close and there was nothing else around, we still showed up and called and hopefully they agreed to take us! We were very grateful for that but also had the feeling that this whole thing could have been avoided if they had replied to our request as we asked all day long. For the room itself, we were given a room with very low ceiling that had a very strong smell of humidity, gave the impression of being not clean (you definitely feel many things under your feet if you go barefeet) and had a door that was not going all the way to the top nor to the bottom. The automatic light in the corridor was even turning on when we were moving in the bed because the sensor could detect us through the gap between the door and the ceiling ! The bathroom is shared, which is not a problem at all for us, but the size and lack of cleanliness were more an issue. We stayed a couple of more days in Phnom Penh but didn't want to extend our stay there, so we left the next morning. For the payment, they also try to apply a higher conversion rate than everywhere we have gone (4050) which didn't make sense for us.

I love the atmosphere. It feels universal, "peaceful" like the name implies, and welcoming.

It can get pretty hot! But there are fans and ventilation.

Super localisation, le rapport qualité prix et très bon. Il y a un petit espace extérieur parfait pour manger un plat à emporter. Le personnel est très accueillant.

There was not much light in the room and there is a very steep spiral staircase, so if you have a large suitcase it is not very comfortable, even if the family made me leave it downstairs

I proprietari sono molto gentili e accoglienti, lasciano banane a disposizione degli ospiti e si può ricaricare l’acqua. Il prezzo era il più basso della città, ma la qualità peggiore rispetto agli altri alloggi in Cambogia.

Il percorso per arrivare alla camera era un labirinto con tante scale, risulta scomodo se si hanno bagagli grandi. La camera era un po’ claustrofobica e con molte ragnatele. Il bagno esterno non aveva l’acqua calda.

Great location, not much noise during the night!

Offers great value. Runs by owners. Everything works. Relatively quiet. Large, shared space and balcony. Very friendly and helpful staff. Owners also sell convenient items on ground floor. It is an accommodating guesthouse and close to many restaurants and cafes.

Do book early and ask for room on lower floors. Access to rooms on 3rd floor is a climb through a steep and narrow metal stairs. It'd be a struggle if you have large luggage.

La propreté de la salle du bain et du sol de la chambre pourrait être améliorée, le wifi est un peu faible

If you are young and just carrying light bags. The stais should be ok. Otherwise, maybe in future Vanny can consider renovating the stairs to be more easy tp go up to.

the owners are very warm and welcoming. the room is big with aircon and had a mini fridge inside which is great value for money. the location near the Russian market and lots of cheap food options is great

Great stay, you have cutlery you can borrow and a kettle. The stay was great, a lot of showers and toilets. The only thing is that you have no direct outside window

Great budget hotel with everything you need, including a kettle, AC + fan, good WiFi, free water refill. There is a museum nearby, lots of local restaurants, and a tuk tuk ride to the center is quick and cheap. It was quiet and I slept well Owners are super sweet 🥰 Great value for the price!

Toilet is downstairs but it wasn’t a big deal for me

This accommodation offers a community cooking area, kettle, dishes, and fridge. I had a nice size room with private bath. Also, they have a convenience store onsite. .

Lovely hosts. Side street would be peaceful, but there is currently major construction work ongoing nearby where the whole road is being dug up for new drainage pipes. The room had ac, fan, and a fridge.

The ceiling in the room was very low. There was an old toothbrush and toothpaste in the bathroom, so I wasn't sure it had been cleaned from the previous guest?

It is a nice and very affordable place run by a very friendly and welcoming family. I had a private room on the top floor which was the only room on that floor so I had lots of privacy and quiet. Good size room and good AC. Free drinking water available to fill your bottle which was great.

The kindest people, always greeting us with a smile, nice room with comfy bed and AC,they offered us free drinking water and sweet bananas from their farm, also plenty of advice on what to see.

The home owners were super friendly and helpful, we didn’t have the full amount of money to pay when we arrived, however they were happy for us to pay the next day. Lots of facilities within the building, including a water fountain which was super handy! The only thing I would say is that the Wi-Fi isn’t the best its manageable.

Truly lives up to the name “peaceful.” The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, the guesthouse clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was great. The stairs are a bit steep and not easy to navigate, so if you’re injured, this may not be the place for you. Otherwise Vanny’s was excellent and I’d definitely stay here again!

There was a bed, it was cheap

Not very clean, bidet was dripping constantly so the floor was permanently wet at the entrance to the bathroom. There are sandal in there but they look like they’ve never been cleaned. There was no hot water. Skinny cheap metal spiral staircase. I have no clue how a suitcase gets up them. It was hard enough with my backpack. Not really much around to do but grabs are cheap. The beds were entirely metal and made lots of noise when you moved. The curtain let through so much light. I had to put both towels over the rail to block it out. The place is very run down. There are passive aggressive signs everywhere. The free water has a off taste. The light switch to my room was faulty and honestly a fire risk. Staff was hot and cold with attitude.

The host family are some of the nicest people we’ve met in the last two months. Very good place to stay and so worth it!

Great location, we really liked this area of town. The owners were so lovely, very helpful and friendly. Basic room but clean and comfortable. Free water provided, lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The owner sent us a list of recommendations which was so helpful. Thank you for a great stay wonderful people :)

Simple, clean, and hosted by a wonderful and gracious family!

We were not given a breakfast option but the room was very nice and quiet, and the bed was quite comfortable. Vanny and his wife and girls were very helpful and friendly, and it was a pleasure staying at their guesthouse.

The location was not ideal as it was a fair tuk-tuk ride to get anywhere (except the Russian Market) but this was no fault of Vanny's Comfortable Guesthouse, rather it was my own fault for not researching where I wanted to be before booking.

The location is great - plentiful of restaurants and cafes nearby and a really quiet area during nighttime The bed is HUGE and really comfortable - we slept awesomely There's free and fresh water available 24/7 and a decent WiFi connection

The ceiling in bathrooms are a little low and I hit my head a couple of times (I am 178cm) and there are some mosquitoes in the shower (cold water only, but that's not a problem given the heat of PP)

Absolutely lovely family, you feel right at home. The owner is there to chat, to recommend al kinds of places and to help with anything. It is like a hostel setup with nice common places to meet other travellers. The location is perfect in the middle of the city. Walking distance from restaurants, market and laundry services. I had a great time. Would come again. For such a fair price.

Well it is in the midst of the city, so the building is a bit old. There are some pretty steep and shallow stairs to climb and for this price you shouldn't expect the Hilton. But for youthful or adventurous travellers it is absolutely perfect. My only complaint would be the WiFi. It works but is just not perfect.

Location was a bit far from downtown (about 45-55 minute walk, but there’s also busses semi-available). The room was a bit hot with just the fan, but there’s AC at an extra cost if you need it.

The owners were more than nice. It’s a family run business and that people is amazing. Super welcoming and ready to help. It’s a bit out of the center but it’s easy to reach it with a tuktuk, and it’s not even expensive. The toilets were ok, a bit too small but clean. The only things were the room with the window facing the corridor and not open air, and the spiral staircases a bit too narrow and so a bit dangerous.

No hot shower, nylon matras cover, small piece of sheet, small fleece blanket. Feeling trapped in metal cage on top floor with no possible way out in case of fire. Unpleasant metal staircases. We left a day earlier.

Our stay in this guesthouse was absolutely awesome. The location is very nice, the hosts are super welcoming and the others guests were super respectful. You even have a beautiful terrace (our favorite place in the guesthouse) ! I would definitely recommend this house for backpackers. Thank you Vanny’s family for your hospitality !

The place is nice, quite unique arquitecture, with a beautiful welcome from the family. The room is quite big, with a fridge inside and comfortable bed. The location is nice, close to the russian market and not far from the S21 museum. The quality price is by far the best we found in phnom penh.

The bathrooms are a little to small and simple, quite difficult to get a shower comfortably.

Very friendly and helpful owners, they gave us lots of useful information. We had only cold water in our bathroom at the time, but it was fine in the hot weather. A/C in the room very good Very near the Russian market where you get everything and nice cheap restaurant with local cuisine nearby (No. 72, recommended by the owners). Just be prepared to walk up a few steep flights of stairs to this room, it's at the very top,.but with a nice little private balcony. Safe area to walk around even after dark.

Friendly, smiley owners. The location was close to the all sorts of touristic places you may want to visit. It was in a quiet neighbourhood. It was the cheapest place we found with AC. Room was an Ok Ok clean and bedsheets were clean.

We climed up 2 floors up and then we climed back down another 1 and a half floor to reach our room. The bathroom floor was very dirty. The toilet flush was leaking water on the bathroom floor. Our bedroom was surrounded by toilets and drain pipes(sipe). The owners were insisting not to give us 2 toilet paper rolls so we had to move the roll from bathroom to bedroom, from bedroom to bathroom all the time. WiFi worked only 1 night, next day some problem happened, they said they will fix it but they never did. They said to go upstairs to the common room to use the WiFi there (where the guests can smoke next door and you get all the smoke because there is no partition.) One of the 2 cups they keep in the room was old and broken. In the common kitchen area the only functioning thing was 1 kettle, the rest was decorative. Stove was there but there was not gas. Pots were there but dirty.

Family were really kind, helpful and accommodating. The mother, father and daughter were all really lovely. The daughter spoke amazing English too!! The place was really good value for money and in a good location! Would definitely recommend.

The location of the hostel was good, not exactly in the center but accessible within a 20-minute walk. The surrounding neighborhood was vibrant and energetic, with plenty of restaurants and cafes just a few steps away, making it a pleasure to explore. The owner was extremely polite and welcoming, communicated well, and was always ready to assist. The hostel also featured a nice terrace, perfect for relaxing and socializing with other guests. Free drinking water was also provided.

On the downside, the room initially had a bit of an unpleasant smell, but after requesting a change of bed sheets, the situation improved. The room itself felt old and could use some refurbishment. While the shared bathroom was very clean, its small size and low ceiling made it challenging to use comfortably. Additionally, the Wi-Fi was unstable and disconnected frequently, although the owner made efforts to fix it. The pillows were not very comfortable, which slightly affected the overall experience.

The location of the guesthouse is really good. It's in a quiet small street in a very good neighbourhood, there is an amazing garden cafe right at the other side of the road. You can walk to the main sights in town in under 30 minutes. The room was big enough and it was always quiet.

Our room had a window, but only to inside the building, so it was actually darker when we woke up in the morning than when we went to bed (when someone had a light on). The curtains right next to the bed are greasy as are the walls and the door of the room and the narrow hallway. So it's not exactly the place to spend much time and relax, it's okay for sleeping and it's of course not expensive.

Place is great value for money. Vanny and her family are fantastic.

The guesthouse owner couple are incredibly warm and welcoming, making it easy for you to get the information you need about neighbourhood and Phnom Penh.

The shower's water pressure is quite low, and at times, there is no water flow at all. Also the bed lacks comfort.

Everything was fine expect the internet. Network connection is a bit slow but the owner is trying everything he can to fix it. They are very kind and helpful.

Vanny and his wife are so friendly and lovely people. They recommended us lots of things to do in Phnom Penh as well as good places to eat. The room is tidy and has a fridge as well as a fan. There is a little kitchen with a kettle and nearby is a nice sitting area. Vanny has a little shop where you can buy food and drinks and he offers free cold and hot water. We have rarely met such friendly hostel owners.

Comfortable room, cozy and peaceful. Good air conditioning, comfy bed. Only a couple minutes walk from the market and several nice restaurants (we’d recommend Sacred Lotus). Good laundry place just round the corner. We got stuck in Phnom Penh waiting for our visas to come through before going to Vietnam, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful in letting us extend our stay as needed. Great value, would recommend.
