Familia muito simpática. Os quartos são na própria casa dos anfitriões. Levaram nos a ver os crocodilos e os morcegos. Gostámos muito. Também nos organizaram o safari a yala.

No que diz respeito ao alojamento tudo foi bom. Ja o Safari não gostamos nada porque foi muito caro para o que foi visto. Para nós não valeu a pena.

lovely welcoming homestay, great sized room, comfortable bed with working aircon and mosquito net, nice hot shower also, everything clean and in working order. owner took us out 3 times for free in his tuktuk to see wildlife,he picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station for no additional charge also. we booked the safari through the hotel and got a great price and managed to see leopards, breakfast was delicious, cannot recommend enough.

Priya is a top notch host. He picked us from the bus stop and then in the evening he took us for bird tours. He showed us an owl at his friend's plan then showed us a crocodile near a lake and bats. We saw birds with his binoculars. This evening tour was free from him We planned yala safari with him In the evening he took us to the hospital and the hospital gave us a discount for a dressing as well because he had connections. He sat there with us until the dressing was done. He dropped us off at restaurants as well for free. And then the next day he asked his friend to drop us off at the bus stop for free as well. We couldn't be happier. Thank you Priya Ps. The passion fruit juice he made for breakfast was awesom.

Il proprietario è molto disponibile. Ci ha offerto un tour nelle aree vicine alla struttura per avvistamento di uccelli ed altri animali. Abbiamo organizzato un full-day safari bello Yala tramite la struttura. Ottimo cibo preparato dalla moglie, sia a colazione che a cena.

Le séjour s'est très bien passé dans ce logement. Le propriétaire était très sympathique et nous a partagé sa passion des oiseaux lors d'une belle soirée. Il nous a également aidé dans l'organisation de notre séjour pour trouver les transports et faire les réservations. La chambre était confortable et propre. Merci encore pour l'accueil et tout l'aide

A lovely bright and spacious room with AC and the loveliest and most helpful host who not only gave me the bus schedule to get from Ella to Tissa but also picked me up from the bus stop and drove me to the bus station again the next day! He organised safari for me and brought me to the lake to see birds, bats and crocodiles. Genuinely the best host anyone could ask for!

Great stay here, hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Priya took us out in his Tuk-Tuk for a drive to spot local wildlife on our first night free of charge. He is very knowledgable and it’s clear he is passionate about the animals. We also had dinner here both nights, a beautiful spread of Sri Lankan food prepared by his wife and a few beers, all for a very good price. The room was nice, had a comfortable bed and great air conditioning. We also had our own Tuk-Tuk and were able to park this inside the gate to the property so we knew it was safe. Priya also gave us binoculars for our safari the following day.

The bathroom had a really strong sick like odour in it. The drawer inside the unit in the room had cockroaches in it and lots of droppings. We found two in the room which we removed and wondered where they were coming from, that’s when we pulled out the drawer. The hairdryer was also in here, so after seeing this my partner was unable to use it after washing her hair. We also booked a Yala Safari through here which was overall quite disappointing. No introduction made by driver upon pick up, just a morning. No hello how are you, are you ready for a good day, my name is, still don’t know his name as he never told us. Throughout the day there was no passion shown whatsoever, which for something like this you would expect given the experience. Communication was poor. Driver would roll down window and shouted to us in the back but nobody in our group could hear or understand him. There was a couple of times he said look and said an animals name which no one knew what it was and he didn’t explain. He also referred to water monitors as iguanas and hornbills as toucans……..There was no itinerary provided whatsoever. Would have been nice to know what was happening with the day concerning toilet breaks and lunch, but we were kept in the dark the whole day. Lunch was provided by Blue Birds Tissa as when we were picked up, the driver was handed the lunch by our hosts, we knew the food would be lovely having had dinner the night before. However, the driver did not wash his hands with soap before preparing our food. We got to the lunch location and he said to us if you want to wash your hands , I’ll prepare the food. We walked round to the sinks and he was in front of us, going to do the same. I got to the sinks and he was rinsing his hands with just water, I said no soap? He said washrooms round the corner. So we went round as our hands were filthy with the dust from the roads, but he didn’t. I never ate the lunch after seeing this.

Such a friendly owner and a great place to stay. We booked our safari through priya and had the best day seeing all the animals, with a great tour guide! Really well organised. The accommodation is so comfortable and we had great breakfast and dinner here! He also took us on a free small tour the evening before our safari to see the local wildlife like birds and crocodiles! Was a great addition and we really enjoyed ourselves. We also booked priya as a private driver to our next destination and a reasonable price, he was so helpful to us organising our travel and can answer any questions you have!

Priya est le best !!! Je n’ai jamais vu un hôte aussi investi et passionné. Il nous a proposé de nous faire un petit tour gratuitement pour voir les chouettes et les crocodiles by night. Il a organisé notre safari avec l’excellent guide Nalaka et notre retour en bus à Colombo. Sa femme est également très accueillante. Ils nous ont même préparer un petit-déjeuner. La chambre était propre et spacieuse. Je vous les recommande vivement, ne passez pas à côté de ce bijou !

Host was so kind, and took us on an incredible free tuktuk safari of the local lake area on the evening we arrived. Was so knowledgeable and showed us lots of secret spots that animals were hiding in that not many other people seemed to know about. They also offer a safari of Yala at a really good rate (cheaper than what you can find on GetYourGuide). Wish we’d done it with him!

Einfaches aber sauberes und schönes Zimmer und Bad. Die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich. Wir wurden kostenlos von der Bushaltestelle abgeholt und am Abreisetag wieder zur Bushaltestelle gefahren. Haben außerdem viele Tipps für unsere Weiterreise bekommen. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Safari war toll! Sehr gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis.

From the moment we arrived, the hosts were helpful and generous with their time. This is a small homestay, not a large hotel, but everything you need is provided. Although this website doesn't allow for it, breakfast is available at a very good price, and being home-cooked is the best we have had during this trip. The host is happy to prepare and cook an evening meal, which was exceptional in quality and price. There is a fridge in the house which guests can use to keep drinks cool, and the hosts were happy for us to bring wine for our meal. They are also happy to arrange any trips or safaris you may require. The room is comfortable and equipped with everything you need.

This is a perfect place for booking a safari. The host organised transport to and from the accommodation for us. He also brought us on an hour long mini tuktuk safari the night we arrived to spot a range of birds and crocodiles free of charge. He was so knowledgeable and friendly!

The room was clean and had a lovely balcony to watch the birds. Priya was such a nice host and took us around the lakes in the evening to see the birds, bats, crocodiles etc. he also took us to see a barn owl another night! We also had breakfast made for us for the morning of the safari which was lovely. The safari we booked through priya was incredible! Our driver was brilliant and very knowledgeable, we saw leopards, elephants, so many birds and more :) had the most amazing time. Thanks so much!

Wir haben die Safari über die Unterkunft gebucht und dort geschlafen. Wir wurden sogar noch abends vom Busstop abgeholt. Die Kommunikation lief viel über Whats App aber der Eigentümer kam abends noch vorbei. Wir haben Frühstück für die Safari bekommen und einen tollen Vormittag gehabt. Unser Driver war super! Name Najaki? Er war echt top und hat alles gegeben! Die Ausstattung ist natürlich für das Geld einfach aber es reicht, war sauber und das Bett bequem. Also auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung und super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

Die Dame in der Unterkunft sprach kein Englisch, was nicht so schlimm war.

Majitel nás vzal večer zdarma na pozorování ptáků, které bylo úžasné. Se vším pomohl, zařídil skvělý odvoz. Ubytování hezké, akorát trochu vlhké - lze vyřešit klimatizací, ale nechtěli jsme chladit na 20 stupňů v 33 stupňovém vedru.

Upon arrival, the host kindly offered to take us birdwatching for free, which was truly impressive, and we saw a wide variety of birds. We later booked a day safari through them, and they prepared breakfast and everything needed for the activity, making it very easy and well organized. When we left to go to our next hotel, they kindly offered to drive us for a reasonable price and even gave us fresh fruit for the journey. Their hospitality made our stay very pleasant, and we really appreciated their kindness and care! Thank you🫶🏻

Everything was perfect - no mold at all, very clean bathroom, super comfortable beds, and the air conditioning worked great. Breakfast was delicious and very generous, with lots of fresh fruit. The place is away from the hustle and bustle, but still has good infrastructure. You can easily walk to dinner spots or take a short tuk-tuk ride to restaurants a bit further away. The owner, Priya, is a fantastic person. He picked us up from the bus and dropped us off as well. He also runs his own, professional safari company, and everything was well organized and comfortable (we recommend a full day option). If I could, I would give more than 10/10. Highly recommended!

在居民区，不吵闹，同时离湖很近。老板特别热情和风趣、博学，提前两天就分享了公交信息，到站后开突突车来接，直接就去湖边看了鳄鱼和鸟类，到民宿后女主人提供了可口的welcome drink。傍晚又带去湖边观鸟，赏日落晚霞。full day safari出发前给我最好的双筒望远镜，看到了睡觉觉的锡兰豹，回去后老板抓紧时间送我到公交车站赶上最近的班车去米瑞莎，刚入住就收到他的短信，被挂念的感觉很温暖。

可能是想多了，当天合作的safari司机感觉不是太厚道，有点磨洋工，对欧洲人明显更热情。不过下午反应迅速，看到了豹子，也算没有白跑一趟。

Fantastic value for money for the size and quality of the room/living space alone. When you also factor in the priceless hospitality and support offered by Priya it is an absolute steal! We stayed for two nights. We did a half day tour of Yala which was excellent - our driver was so knowledgable, friendly and helpful. The sighting of two rare fish owls roosting together was a highlight of our whole trip. In addition to this Priya also took us out twice in his rickshaw to look at nature around the lakes, including to see the fruit bats show at dusk which was an absolute spectacle. I couldn’t rate the whole experience any more highly.

Priya jest bardzo miły, z ogromną wiedzą na temat ptaków oraz sokolim wzrokiem, pokazał nam dużo różnych gatunków. Bardzo pomocny i zawsze uśmiechnięty. Pomógł nam z transportem oraz zorganizował safari, udało nam się zobaczyć wszystkie zwierzęta. Dziękujemy! :)

Wat ons het meest beviel aan de accommodatie was gastheer Priya en de combinatie van het kunnen doen van de Yala Safari. Gastheer Priya regelde alles perfect hiervoor. Hij was verder behulpzaam met alles en bracht ons overal naar toe of haalde ons weer op. Hij is volgens ons een gepassioneerd vogelspotter, want de eerste avond nam hij ons mee naar een meer waar we heel veel vogels konden zien en nog duizenden vleermuizen. Priya vertelde er gepassioneerd over en wist ook precies waar de vogels zaten. Later liet hij ons nog een uil zien, omdat we die eerder gemist hadden. Ons verblijf van 2 dagen bij Priya was top, mede dankzij hem.

The place is slightly off the beaten path, which ensures complete peace and quiet. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The air conditioning was very efficient. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, treating us like family. We also had the chance to join a sunset trip to a nearby lake to observe wildlife, including numerous birds and bats. The friendly guide professionally pointed out what to look for. The safari driver was also very pleasant and communicative.

Wir hatten das Drei-Bett-Zimmer gebucht und waren komplett zufrieden. Es war sehr geräumig (ein Schlafzimmer, ein Vorzimmer/Wohnzimmer mit Couch, ein Bad und einen eigenen Balkon). Der Gastgeber war äußerst freundlich und hat uns von unserem vorherigen Hotel zu seinem Hotel gefahren und das für einen sehr fairen Preis. Nachdem wir angekommen sind hat er uns auf eine kostenlose Vogelsaffari mitgenommen, bei der wir sogar ein Krokodil gesehen haben. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und das Abendessen, sowie das Frühstück waren sehr sehr lecker. Unser Gastgeber war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns am Ende sogar zu unserem nächsten Bus gefahren.

En Pryia va estar atent i per nosaltres des que vam arribar. Ens va dur a fer un tour d'ocells, ratpenats i cocodrils a prop de la casa i ens va organitzar el safari a Yala amb un guia excel·lent. L'habitació compleix les expectatives.

- breakfast is provided but you don’t get to have it if you go on safari as safari usually include stuff so maybe a small breakfast/brunch being available for when you’re back would be nice

Priya es una persona encantadora. Nos fue a buscar cuando llegamos y nos hizo un tour por la tarde para ver animales por la zona y ver una de las mejores puestas de sol de Sri Lanka. Cogimos con él el safari en Yala y todo fue muy fácil. Cuando nos fuimos nos acercó a la estación de autobuses y nos llevó hasta el bus que teníamos que coger. Sin lugar a dudas ha sido el mejor anfitrión que hemos tenido en Sri Lanka. La casa y la habitación super cómodas, la cama es enorme y tiene aire acondicionado, que con el calor que hace en Tissa es de agradecer.

Ci è piaciuto tutto: l'accoglienza da parte dell'host è magnifica. Ci ha aiutati a reperire le informazioni del bus per arrivare e ci è venuto a prendere gratuitamente alla fermata per portarci alla struttura. Ci ha accompagnati gratuitamente a fare un giro di più di un'ora intorno al lago al tramonto per osservare gli uccelli e la fauna selvatica. Ha organizzato per noi il safari, con un prezzo anche più basso di quello offerto da altri fornitori. La colazione era buona e ci è stata servita proprio durante il safari. C'è la possibilità di gustare un'ottima cena a prezzi onesti e la gentilezza dell'host è tale per cui è uscito apposta per comprare una bottiglietta di acqua frizzante che avevamo chiesto. Il giorno della partenza si è offerto di portarci alla fermata del bus, indicandoci quale prendere e assicurandosi che salissimo in sicurezza, non prima di averci offerto l'anguria dopo il safari. Purtroppo su Booking non si può dare 10 e lode, ma questa struttura la meriterebbe!

The owner was super attention and warm welcoming person. I had injured and he took care of my problems quickly within i didn't say anything. He dropped me on check-in time and he dropped me off on check-out time. Seriously i liked this warm attention. Also the room was well-equipment and big enough. And AC works good.

Questa guest house è posizionata in una zona tranquilla e immersa nel verde ma a breve distanza dal Tempio e dalla palude dove il gentilissimo Priya, il padrone di casa, ci ha portato appena arrivati a vedere bufali, coccodrilli e uccelli. Abbiamo anche cenato e siamo stati benissimo. Camera e ambiente in generale super pulito, colazione ottima e abbondante, silenzioso e confortevole. Grazie!

Es war echt Sauber und wir hatten warmes Wasser. Die Hosts waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die gratis Lake Tour war super. Wir würden sofort wieder hierher kommen. Weiters bieten sie normale Safaris auch an (hatten leider schon bei wem anderen im voraus eine gebucht, würden wir aber jetzt bei ihm machen!)

Priya’s property at Tissa was amazing. Comfort, cleanliness, nature, proximity to the nearby lake. Everything was perfect. Priya is a very educated host and a nature lover. He took us to the lake for birdwatching. He explained us everything about the animal species living there. He even took us to Tissa with his own Tuk Tuk to a cafe we had spotted. We were lucky to enjoy a full moon night from the balcony. We went on an early morning safari the next day and he had prepared take away breakfast for us. He also arranged our laundry. To sum up he did everything to make this experience magical. Our accommodation had the unique character of a local home. It was like it was personalised. Thank you Priya! Looking forward to coming again!

Priya es un gran anfitrión, el dia de llegada nos llevó a observar animales al lago cercano. Siempre super amable. Viajamos con TukTuk y nos revisó todo para que no tuvieramos problemas al continuar el viaje. Contratamos con él el safari, y nos vinieron a recoger peonto y pudimos ser uno de los primeros en entrar al parque.

The owner of the guesthouse is very warm-hearted and trustworthy. On the first day of our stay, he took us on a free bird-watching tour, and we also saw bats and crocodiles. He was very professional! He helped with everything, making us feel completely at ease. Since we only had half a day for the safari and returned early, he took us for an owl and bird-watching trip at noon. The safari driver arranged by our private driver wasn't very good, and we saw nothing on two trips. In the end, because we really wanted to see a leopard, we returned from Mirissa and joined the safari the next day. The driver the owner arranged was highly professional and shared a lot of expert knowledge with us. The owner even joined us, which really made us feel safe and reassured. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay there. We slept there just one night. The room was very clean and the owner was so helpful. He brought us to see birds, bats and crocodiles and was a really nice experience, we liked it even more than the safari wich we did with another company. Also they prepared for us a delicious breakfast take away for the safari!

The owner of the hotel was incredibly kind and helpful. He arranged our transportation and even took us to see crocodiles and bats on our first day, which was such a unique experience. He also organized our safari tour, and it was absolutely perfect! The hotel itself was also very clean and comfortable.

The most helpful hosts we've had so far in Sri Lanka! Priya helped us organize our trip even before and after our stay, as well as the Yala Safari. His wife brought us coconut water upon our arrival and cooked delicious meals. No need to eat outside. We definitely recommend 200%!

We had an amazing stay at this homestay in Tissamaharama! Priya, the owner, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. He took us on a lovely tuktuk ride around the lake, where we saw a wide variety of beautiful birds — such a peaceful and unique experience. We also booked a safari through Yala National Park with him, and it was absolutely unforgettable. Everything was perfectly arranged, and we were the only group that day lucky enough to see a leopard — a real once-in-a-lifetime moment! Priya also drove us to town when we wanted to grab dinner and even picked us up afterward, which was incredibly thoughtful. On our departure day, he personally brought us to the bus station and made sure we got on the right bus to Ella — such a kind gesture that made traveling stress-free. The room was big and the AC was great. Bed was comfy. Bathroom great too. Everything was clean. Breakfast was really good. Dinner too, just took a little longer but that's totally fine. Comfortable stay, warm hospitality, and incredible value for money. Highly recommended!

Ayrıca bizi yemek yiyeceğimiz yere kadar getirip götürdü, kendisi çok nazik biri. Ayrıca Yala'da yarım günlük safariye katılmamıza yardımcı oldu.Odalar çok temizdi ve düzenliydi, odanın kliması güzel soğutuyorduBurayı kesinlikle öneririm.

We had a wonderful stay while in Tissa to do a safari - Priya was so friendly and helpful. We booked our safari through him and our guide was great. The room was lovely, clean and spacious. The dinner and breakfast Priya and his wife made for us was also amazing, would highly recommend. We particularly enjoyed the tour around the lake looking at the wildlife there that Priya gave us the evening we arrived. Couldn’t recommend more.

Room and en-suite were clean and had a mosquito net which was very helpful given the location. Priya was a lovely host and even took us on a mini safari himself around the local lake to see crocs and birds etc. When we got home his family cooked us a lovely chicken curry for a little additional fee. Lovely place to stay for cheap if you are doing the safari.

Fue sin duda el hotel más limpio y mejor cuidado de todo nuestro viaje de 15 días en Sri Lanka. La amabilidad de Priya es impresionante,desde que llegamos se prestó a llevarnos a ver aves y cocodrilos al lago.Los días de después se encargó de llevarnos a buscar los animales que estábamos buscando.Contratamos el safari con ellos y fue todo un acierto. Repetiremos!! Lo recomendamos 100%

Tout était parfait : l’accueil, le confort de la chambre, les repas, le safari. Hôte aux petits soins. Il est venu nous chercher à la station de bus, il nous a fait un tour du lac en fin de journée pour voir les différents animaux, il nous a organisé le safari, et nous a ramené à la station de bus tout en prenant soin de toujours nous donner des bouteilles d’eau. Merci pour tout ! 🥰

We felt like home.You will never regret choosing Blue Birds Tissa for your stay.Priya is the most amazing host we had during our stay in Sri Lanka.He gave us a tour around the lakes, shared his knowledge about birds and animals.Second day we went to kirinda beach with him for see sunset. we arranged the safari tour by ourselves, but he will arrange safari you perfectly,and the taxi to our next destination. Highly Recommended!!

Lo mejor sin duda lo servicial que es el propietario. Te recoge en la parada de bus, te lleva a dar una vuelta en jeep cuando llegas por las lagunas para ver aves, murciélagos, búfalos y algún cocodrilo.. nos compró postre para cuando volvimos de cenar.. muy muy cortés. Nos ayudo con el bus de ella a tissa.. hablo con el conductor del bus para que se parara en un lugar que no debía parar.. en fin, femomenal

A veces incluso demasiado insistente preguntándonos las cosas para el organizar nuestra llegada… pero lo hacía con su buena fe, pero llego a agobiar 😂

Como bienvenida nos llevó a dar un breve paseo por la zona al atardecer para ver aves y algún cocodrilo
