Nothing not to like - just fabulous
place was perfect! hosts had thought of everything! couldnt fault it! well done!!
Secluded, quiet , peaceful, perfect escape! Lovely walks nearby, we had the sun shining which always makes a difference in Ireland. Great spot for a compete switch off.
Peaceful, quiet, beautifully decorated, the Lodge had everything you could need plus more. One night was definitely not enough....
The location was beautiful
Non of the showers where working and we could raise any of the staff before leaving. So no showers
The view from the pod especially at night. Also the beautiful quietness as you sat outside during the day and especially at night. It's an ideal breakaway to totally unwind. Also the owners were fantastic and lovely people, anything we needed was provided. The big screen was great to watch whatever you want on.
Only downside was the steps up to the pod. Not good for anyone with mobility issues, which is a shame as its a beautiful place to stay.
Absolute amazing stay, they owners have done a fantastic job with this accommodation, it was absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend. The outdoor shower was a fantastic option, thank you so much.
The mattress was excellent. The cottage was very cute.
The sofas may need a cover as they look old and a bit dirty.
Tara Hill estate was such a lovely place to stay. Being surrounded by nature and with views of the sea it’s truly a beautiful setting and perfect for some proper relaxation.
Location, Aestethic, perfect hideaway
Quite, private peaceful, nice getaway from busy city. Great ofuro andBen was very helpful as we met him upon arrival
Nothing place is great. Hedge a bit high so view in the bed laying down is obscured but place is perfect regardless
Breakfast was perfect, was already in the fridge waiting for us on arrival. The location was perfect and the views breathtaking
Nothing
Was a little piece of heaven in your own little bubble of nature
That i couldn’t stay longer :)

Never got proper information. Arrived not knowing where I was supposed to go. Phoned a mobile number and was told I was booked into the Lodge and directed how to find it. Discovered when I got there that there was a spiral staircase up to the mezzanine where the bed was. I use a stick because of knee issues. There was no way I could take a chance on the stairs. I called this unknown person and explained my difficulty.. He insisted it was my problem and followed up by saying 'well you better look for somewhere else to stay'.and suggested the Seafield Hotel . I asked about a refund and he said I had to apply to Booking.com. I was taking a 24 hr break from caring for my husband. This didn't help my stress levels. The Seafield Hotel were very helpful and I settled in to a lovely room with balcony looking out over the countryside. One final comment. Dealing with a faceless individual, with no person to person contact does not work for me. And being accused that it was my fault was worse. My booking was for a one bedroom chalet!
Location and decor design great. Communication with owner prompt and good.
Very sparsely provided with cutlery and crockery. No serving bowls or containers to cook in microwave or oven in Lodge. Some maintenance issues - e.g. wobbly door handles, shower not draining properly and shower door not closing properly.
Very easy to find and very comfortable.
Nothing was a great stay
Beautiful, peaceful setting
Nothing everything was perfect
Very relaxing stay ,The Sunriser pod was a lovely private pod with a nice Japanese style bath ready to use upon arrival , thanks to Ben & Vanessa for the amazing hospitality and beautiful location. Check-in and out was all done online so that was also a bonus. The room had everything you could need and was clean and cosy. Will be back again soon!
Nothing.
We stayed 2 nights in this wonderful location. The views were spectacular especially sunrise & sunset. Opening the windows to hear the birds chirping away in the morning. The room is compact & has everything you need for your stay. A great location if you are looking for solitude to get away from the hecticness of life. We walked about 10-15mins to the beach for a morning dip which was glorious, a pair of runners are needed for this walk. The ofouro bath is a must for this stay. It was ready to go when we arrived but has to be left to cool down for a good while. It was ready to go just as the stars came out, which was spectacular. The owners Ben & Vanessa were very attentive but not intrusive. The electricity went off on our second day which was out of their control. Ben provided us with bottled water & also a complimentary breakfast & ofouro bath which was so kind. We will definitely be back again.
Beautiful scenery and cosy little wild room. Well worth the visit.
The coffee machine
Would like some board games incase no TV or Internet
Place is stunning, the pictures don’t even do it justice! Room is spacious with everything you would need! Projector is great quality. Views are amazing. Pure peace and quiet. Staff are so lovely.
The location is very nice and the Tara Hill walk/hike is perfect for anyone looking to get a nice view of the area. Very close to other nice areas such as Gorey and Ballymoney Beach. Would be perfect in warmer months.
There was not much included in the breakfast aside from a pre-made basket left in the fridge overnight, and unfortunately not a lot of food, in my opinion, for two people. Unfortunate that many of the facilities such as the hot tub weren't open and there was no indication that they wouldn't be, although in fairness the weather can be unpredictable in January. Felt like we had little choice but to leave the accommodation and go into the town, which was a shame because the property was picked for its amenities/facilities.
Great spot. Beautifully decorated and extremely cosy. Had anything you'd ever need there ready to go.
Beautiful
Great cottage, everything there, very comfy bed, warm house

Relaxing vibe, lovely setting.... peaceful and tranquil
Fresh towels supplied if staying beyond two days would be a bonus, no complaints at all ... nothing to dislike
The tranquility of the place was the disconnection I needed.
The lodge itself was amazing and the location
I thought the hot tub was included, but apparently you have to pre order it. Never got told this until I had to text and ask when I got there. Netflix kicked me out after a certain hour as someone else was using it. Had no other access to anything via the projector after that
Hot tub and outdoor shower were absolutely fabulous. The view from the Sunriser was beautiful. Lovely area, lots of birds too. Close walk to the beach and to a hike up Tara Hill, but also just 10 minutes by car to Gorey for dinner out. Good facilities in the room which allowed us to make breakfast and lunch easily. Nice, clean accommodation and friendly staff.
Bathroom door was a bit stiff and hard to open at times (sliding door), but that's a very minor complaint.
Heerlijke omgeving en leuke lodge met alles in wat je nodig hebt. En een mooie tuin en dogfriendly. Helaas hadden we d3ze maar voor 1 nacht geboekt.
Exceeded expectations. The location was gorgeous- sea views upon waking. Felt like you were sleeping in the wilderness. Beautiful serene beaches nearby.
Nothing!
The view is lovely and Tara hill is a great area
I think the way the property is packaged isn’t great value for money. For the price and quality of the services some of the extras should be included. For example, the hot tub should be included in the price. There are many other properties that don’t add that as such an expensive addition. Also the breakfast left a lot to be desired. Buying a pastry and a yoghurt from the local shop would have been far better quality. They gave us a probably about 50ml of orange juice which was quite bizarre. We both laughed at first because it was so strange. I think it’s really cheeky offering that as a breakfast to be honest.
Excellent location, guaranteed peace and quiet.
Fixtures and fittings could do with upgrading. Loose taps and a shower that doesn’t drain properly lead to a feeling that the lodge could do with a bit of TLC.
Die Wild Rooms haben ein großartiges Konzept. Ausstattung ist grundsätzlich auf einem hohen Niveau. Tolle Lichtvarianten, sehr guter Induktionsherd.
We had a great weekend in the lodge. It was well equipped and spacious. We enjoyed staying in.
Place was real fabulous
Everything
The wild rooms are a short walk from a beautiful sandy beach and local shops and cafes that offer anything you might want or need. They offer peace, privacy, and comfort. They are welll equipped for a short stay and we loved the garden area to relax after a day enjoying the sunny south east.
Couldn't locate a hairdryer in two of the window drawers. Couldn't open the third to check. Wasn't a problem as it was too warm to use one anyway, but something to note for future.
The room was a little too warm at night and needed to use a fan. But this is not a major complaint. Apart from the fan being loud to sleep with.
Have stayed here before just love the little Cottage equipped with everything you need
Pod was beautiful Netflix was great
To close to nature ,to many flies and bees. Not happy having to pay for hot tub after paying 240 euro for 1 night.
We've enjoyed our stay at Tara hill estate, will definitely return again for more nights. Thank you very much 👌👌👌
The location is so perfect you basically have your own private pool
Nothing
Really comfortable, warm and cozy. Great location and host.
It was so cosy! And they had cooking facilities aswell as spices aswell. Was an amazing trip will be returning
nothing !
Peace and quiet and standard of accommodation.
The location Tara Hill is lovely, quiet and peaceful. We had a wild room: Stargazer. The bathroon is nice with a good hot shower The singing birds are wonderful. The home cinema concept is nice.
Wild Room for us as a couple are too small for comfort. There’s no room for normal chairs and a table. And hardly place for some luggage. The fridge and the bathroon ventilator make a lot of noice. The unit is very warm when it is sunny weather. Open windows mean musquitos and flies in your room. High bushes blocked the sea-view, but be could admire the beautifull skies.
The estate is in a very good location with great views down to the sea although The Lodge we stayed in was actually very close to the road. The Wild Rooms are better positioned and more secluded but don't accept pets which is why we booked the property down in the courtyard.
I had asked for flexibility on check in check out times as we were only on a very short respite break but was refused - this request was before booking but because there was a delay in the reply and I was anxious to get somewhere confirmed I went ahead before getting the reply that the times were non-negotiable. In effect we paid over 200€ for less than 24 hours. It would be better if Tara Hill had a minimum 2 night stay to avoid this kind of unsatisfactory situation. There were no instructions on the app or in the property on how to use the high end coffee machine which had not been cleaned properly. Ended up looking up a video on YouTube. I think a previous reviewer mentioned this as an issue. Nor were there any clues as to the existence or use of the advertised sofa bed and so although we hunted around my son ended up sleeping on one of the sofas. Prior to arrival I asked the host what basics I could expect to find in order to decide whether to cook and what to bring. Told that milk, tea & coffee were provided but would need to bring cooking oil etc. When we arrived (having stopped en route to buy food for the evening) we found that there was oil and seasonings but the milk was just four sachets of UHT milk - barely enough for two cups of tea and nowhere near enough for a latte from the coffee machine. According to the host this is all they provide as standard. So immediately upon arrival I had to go back out to buy milk. On the Saturday evening I used the app to order the breakfast for 14€ which they say is delivered between 9.30 & 10am. The breakfast is listed as: croissants, butter, jam, yogurt, granola, juice and coffee. At 9.50 I chased up the breakfast delivery by phone as we wanted to do a walk before checkout at 11. The host said they hadn't seen the order and eventually said he would put something together. Breakfast without coffee or jam but 2 more milk sachets arrived 20mins later. €14 refunded but will to live lost.
We recently stayed at Tara Hill Estate for a much-needed couple’s escape, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled in the peaceful countryside and just a short distance from the stunning Saline Beach—where we enjoyed a beautiful swim—this property was the perfect blend of tranquility and luxury. The estate itself exceeded all of our expectations. The facilities were modern, incredibly comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need. It’s clear that every detail has been carefully considered to make guests feel at home. The views were absolutely out of this world—breathtaking sea views that we couldn’t get enough of. One of the standout features was the privacy and quiet the location offered. It felt like our own little haven, far from the noise and rush of daily life. The welcome pack that was emailed to us ahead of time was another highlight—it included every bit of useful information we could have needed for our stay, making everything so easy and stress-free. We’ll definitely be recommending Tara Hill Estate to our friends and family, and we’re already looking forward to returning ourselves soon. A truly special place!
Not a thing.
Everything. I am still shocked as to how much thought has been put in by the hosts. The most comfortable, clean, equipped and beautiful self catering property I have ever come across. It really is a home from home with the most comfortable bed I have ever had. I was travelling with my 2 young dogs on their first trip away and so was quite anxious. That disappeared as soon as I arrived. A beautiful welcome card and 2 dog bowls meant the world. Thank you Ben and Vanessa for welcoming us into your paradise and you are doing a great job.
Not a thing.
Everything. Beautiful location, very well equipped and comfortable. Excellent coffee machine.
Nothing. Loved it all.
The grounds were beautiful!
The distance to carry our luggage down the hill. Also, a brief print of operating the coffee machine would be helpful. And having the wifi password inside, as well.
Perfect place for a few days out of the city!! Peaceful, relaxing, chilled so close to the beach!! Views were amazing!! Really enjoyed my time at tarahill was the perfect place!!
nothing
Quiet and comfortable location. We didn't get to meet the owners but we had a lively time. 100% recommend.
Location was nice and kinda hidden away
Nothing really
Nothing we didn't stay
We were led to believe dog friendly and were offered a shoebox with a double bed absolutely shocking and they ower Ben was rude. Avoid at all costs he would not even offer a refund, its false advertising a complete rip off we had to drive to brooklodge stay in Wicklow just beware
Very private area, beautiful scenery all around, very close to the beach
The location. The small attention to detail stuff - hand written welcome card, the list of places to go to near the property.
Nothing
Privacy and cleanliness
Shower floor
The accommodation was well set up, furnished, and the amenities had everything we wanted. The guide with bookable extras really made the difference. The cheese board is well worth the pre order, as was the breakfast with deliciously warm croissants.
