Property is beautiful, but there were no stairs approaching the house, very slippery climb

The property in Flåm was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The property was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. However, it was about 20 minutes from the town center, and the main issue was the difficulty of getting a taxi there. We asked the host to book one for us, but she only provided the phone number for the area’s sole taxi company, which we could have found ourselves. When we arrived, no taxis were available, and Uber was not an option either. We then asked whether the host could pick us up, but she said she was busy. As a result, we waited about an hour and a half for the next available taxi and paid USD 55 each way every time we went to go to the town center. The property is located high up on a hill, making it difficult to reach on foot. If you book this property, you should have a car. This should be clearly stated in the property description and instructions, especially since Flåm is a very popular destination and taxis are not always readily available.

The location is remote but beautiful. A car is needed to reach the property but when you get there it is worth the climb!

Nothing everything was great!

The property was such an amazing experience… the adventure of the drive, the scenic views of the valley in both directions and at least 3 waterfalls, friendly sheep greeting us, the lovely deck, and then the house that was perfect for spending evenings together cooking, visiting, playing games. Etc. The beds were so comfortable!

The VIEW! Very new remodel/addition. Very clean and functional. The upper rooms have a VERY steep stair case, so be careful, but the views are great. Nice kitchen with fridge. Washing machine in bathroom.

One bathroom. It is a very nice bathroom, but with two couples or more, it is a challenge. The nice new jacuzzi tub didn’t have any water / wasn’t functioning. Very hard to find the utensils. Perhaps a little aggressive on the ask as you check out.

Nichts war negativ :) Von Flam fährt man ca eine Viertelstunde, aber das ist auch nicht weiter tragiach.

Remotely located from the centre of Flam, it offers unparalleled view of the mountains and the fjord. Very nicely furnished and arranged, you really enjoy spending time there

The house is beautifully decorated and laid out. It has spacious rooms and great facilities. We were there two nights. It is very close to Flam for days out and has beautiful views. Also very nice to have shower gel, coffee capsules, etc provided. Shame weather wasn't better for using the massive terrace

The road is steep and there are sheep you have to chase off the road!

It is on top of a hill with very small and steep winding road and hence we did not complete our stay there. We checked out the first day itself. This detail is missing on the listing

Need to pass through a narrow road to get to the house, if a vehicle comes from the other side then it could be troublesome experience. Jacuzzi was broken or probably under maintenance, kids would have loved it.

The hostess is wonderful and very prompt in responding to the queries. The property has all the amenities which are required for a perfect home stay. The kitchen is welcoming and cosy. We spent time cooking and eating together with beautiful views visible from the window which was an amazing experience all together. Everything is well maintained , clean and hygienic

Only minor drawback is the distance from the center of the city to the location of the house. For people like us who had no intention to rent a car, are only dependent on local taxi which is costly approx 460 NKR for 6 km distance. However if you don’t intent to travel to and fro from city to the house frequently , then it can be ignored

L' abitazione è situata a circa 6,5 km dall' abitato di Flam, a 400 metri di altezza (informazione non presente nella descrizione dell' alloggio). È raggiungibile percorrendo una strada particolarmente impervia (stretta, ripida e senza protezioni). Durante il nostro soggiorno (Aprile 2026) ha nevicato copiosamente. Abbiamo faticato (e rischiato) per tornare a valle e non siamo più riusciti a risalire (serviva un fuoristrada 4x4, avevamo una macchina con dotazione invernale a noleggio). L' host non ha fornito alcun supporto per fronteggiare l'evento ed in seguito non ha fornito alcuna risposta alla richiesta di rimborso dei giorni non goduti (2 su 3). Ne alla richiesta avanzata tramite booking ne alla richiesta avanzata direttamente.

Views. Nice kitchen and bathroom

There was no tableware. We didn’t know we needed a car. The owner brought us to and from the house when we arrived and when we left.

Very beautiful house, well equipped. Far from village center, half the way up the mountain but no view. Inside, is very well furnished and equipped. I felt at home.

Location. It's a bit too far out the village, with no reason. Do not forget to buy milk before going up. It will not be easy to have any up there.

Es ist ein sehr schönes großes Haus mit viel Platz. Das Haus ist gemütlich eingerichtet und alles ist vorhanden was so so braucht. Gerade jetzt, wenn es draußen kühler wird, ist der Holzofen eine tolle Sache.

Ich habe 2 kleine Mängel, die den ansonsten sehr positiven Gesamteindruck etwas mindern. In der Küche hängt der Kühlschrank so schräg in der Küche, dass die Tür von alleine zugeht aber die daneben liegende Schublade immer klemmt. Im Bad roch es sehr nach Kanal. Ich denke, dass der Abfluss in der Dusche defekt ist und so kein ausreichender Geruchsverschluss vorhanden ist. Die Badewanne war leider nicht zu gebrauchen, da die Amatur fehlt.

The views from the house are just spectacular! Literally on the side of a mountain with views of mountains and waterfalls. Close to town but out of the craziness of Flåm. The house is very neat and clean and very nicely decorated. The heated bathroom floor was a real plus. The hostess was charming and she helped us get access when we didn’t get her email instructions. Loved it, loved it, loved it! We would rent it again in a minute!!!

It wasn’t a problem for us, but the walk up to the house from the driveway is somewhat steep and composed of dirt and grass. Also the stairs up to the two bedrooms upstairs were somewhat steep as well. Not a criticism - just something for the movement impaired to consider.

The location is amazing! The narrow and winding road was exciting and the views from so high up were stunning.

Très belle vue. Lieu très calme. Lits très confortables. Tout équipé (lave-vaisselle, machine à laver le linge etc.). Balançoire pour enfants à l'extérieur.

Dommage que le bain à remous ne fonctionnait pas... Le trajet depuis la ville est un peu éprouvant (quand on le fait 3 fois par jour A/R) Escalier vers les chambres à l'étage déconseillé pour les personnes à risques.

Ligging, schoon en luxe

This home was beautiful. We were provided with check in info via email/app and were able to check in early. The host answered question prior to our stay to assist with what I needed to pack. The kitchen was fully stocked, we did laundry during our stay and the host let us pick flowers from the garden to create a beautiful bouquet for our sons wedding in Aurland.

We did not know about the narrow windy road to get to the property, but the road was not busy, only locals and no real traffic to contend with.

Spa bath wasn’t working

The house is well facilitated with a lot of kitchen wares. The whole house is very cozy.

It’s located quite a distance from the city. After parking the car, the short path to the house is sandy which makes us difficult to bring our luggages.

The location was absolutely fabulous with regards to the views from the house. The house itself is very well maintained with a very clean bathroom. It was so nice to stay in what I would imagine is a traditional Norwegian house. I would say that I had not realised just how high in the mountain the house is, and that it is accessed via a very steep single track mountain road. This should be made clear when advertising the house.

The location is only 6 km from the center, in a beautiful spot. From there, you can enjoy a nice mountain view, and if you're lucky, you can see the Northern Lights, as we did 😊

The house is cozy

It's a great spacious and comfortable cottage with a very nice living room, well equipped kitchen and a large bathroom. There is a wood burning fireplace and small electric heaters. The management is responsive over chat.

Only downside is that it's up over a hill and not really in the village itself, so you can't really walk about and explore. You will have to drive up and down to explore the village and it's a narrow, bendy road unless you're up for a challenging hike each time.

Large house and very comfortable - recently renovated and very tastefully decorated. Nice kitchen with all amenities, same with bathroom - the jacuzzi is bliss after a long day of hiking. Excellent wifi, too. Great view from the living room - mountains, waterfalls.

Further away / high from Flam, in exchange I guess you get the views. Found it somewhat pricey but won't complain too much. Neither TV or radio is working

This charming house was our favorite stay in Europe. The house is extremely clean and very cozy. The kitchen was very well equipped and all the supplied linens were very nice quality.

The view was spectacular and the deck was large and comfortable. Overall it was wonderful.

The location was breathtaking. However, people should note that it is up a very steep, switchback, one-lane two-way traffic road that was buckled and uneven in places. Not for those who are afraid of heights.

We had 3 very enjoyable nights staying there. Super-quiet and peaceful with very comfortable beds for a great nights sleep. Very clean, spacious and well equipped accommodation. Lovely terrace outside with gorgeous views. Would definitely recommend.

Quite a long and zig zag road with hairpin bends to access the property. No freezer or wifi. Cellular signal very strong though.

It is an amazing house on the hill of flam. The view is mesmerizing. It has all the feelings of Norwegian nature but at the same time the inside is very modern and convenient, with a huge bathtub.

You have to drive 5-10 minute of winding and narrow road up the hill to reach the house. But it's totally worth it (the picture is the view from the house frontyard). I would definitely recommend this house to anyone with a good driving skill.

The house is very special- inside it is beautifully decorated in a modern but cozy and artistic style. Outside there is a huge deck with a couch and large table and magnificent views. Next to the house is a cluster of old (very old) farm buildings on the steep grassy slope. The road is great for walking with many birds and a flock of sheep. Magical place.

The road was steep and a bit of a challenge for the person in our group who drove it. Narrow and hard to find pull over spots with cars coming in the other direction. Luckily there is hardly any traffic.

Hosts should make guests aware that the property is up a very narrow road, climbing up the mountain with very few spots to pull over, we are experienced road travellers but found this road a challenge. We also couldn't find any cutlery in the kitchen, searched every drawer & cupboard plenty of other items but no knives, forks or spoons?

Amazing place! I can definitely see why it has gotten great reviews! Picking up the key was easy and the host was very friendly. Yes it’s a winding drive up the mountain so you need a car but that is part of what makes it so spectacular. Amazing views from the home! Mountains and waterfalls! Warm and cozy with a nice wood burning fireplace. Comfortable bed. Fully furnished living room was so cozy after a long day of exploring Nicely stocked large kitchen is perfect for preparing meals …And a wonderful jetted tub! Only 2 of us so we never even used the two bedrooms upstairs but this would be a wonderful place for families or friend get together. Also has a washer so it was great to clean everything after a weeks worth of hiking! The town is close by ( about 10 min drive) so everything is convenient. Would recommend that you book this beautiful home in a heartbeat!

Tucked away high on the hills, peaceful and quiet. It was well-maintained and the kitchen well-equipped. Although it was high up and quite a distance from the town, not a problem for us as we had car.

If this house is available, book it without a second thought, but only of you have your own car. Lovely house perched high up on the mountain with a fabulous view of the Flam valley. Clean, well equipped kitchen and a charming living room. Backyard has a seating area where one can soak in the views as lambs frolic in the meadows nearby. We had only 2 days here - would have loved to spend at least a week!

All houses and apartments in Europe need to be equipped with fans now. June is a hot season, even in Norway :( This house is high up on the mountain overlooking Flam - a very steep drive with hairpin bends takes you there - book this place only if you're driving here.
