Flåm Holiday Home

We had an absolute dream stay at Flåm Holiday Home! it sits beautifully up on the hillside, surrounded by breathtaking mountains. The location is perfect, just a pleasant 20-minute walk down to the Flåm port. The lodge itself is stunning. It features a cozy bedroom, a very spacious living room, and three full bathrooms, which made our stay incredibly comfortable. Every single room is tastefully decorated, and the views from the windows are spectacular. We couldn't stop taking pictures! We could not be happier with our stay. A huge thank you to the host for providing such a wonderful home away from home. Highly recommended!

There was no breakfast, though a discount at a breakfast place in town

This is a big home, almost too large for our family of six. Nice views and surrounded by scenic mountains There was a washing machine, but no detergent and no drier. I think there was also a coffee maker but no coffee or filters.

Location is AMAZING! Truly magical and great set up for families. We were a group of 9 and had plenty of space to spread out, let the kids play and cook in, which was great after small city hotel rooms and eating out so much. This is an incredible and special place! We will definitely be back!

Downstairs shower screen doesn't work as well as other bathrooms, so it made the bathroom floor wet and that took at bit to dry - but we were able to sop it up with extra towels.

It is a beautiful home in a beautiful location and had enough room for what we needed. It was clean and had 3 bathrooms which was clutch for a large group.

It is not that easy to get to from the train station and a part of the path walking towards the house is not always that pedestrian friendly. It's also closer to a 20 minute walk to downtown.

Hello Booking.com, I spoke with one of your representatives yesterday, and I am writing to formally report the serious issues we experienced during our stay at Flåm Holiday Home. Although the location and the view were beautiful, the property itself was not properly maintained, and the problems significantly affected our vacation. During our stay we experienced the following: One of the bedrooms on the first floor had what appeared to be urine on the floor. I have photos documenting this. The property had two microwaves, but neither of them worked. The property manager came to help and confirmed that she was unable to get either one working. The stove was also malfunctioning. The property manager spent time trying different ways to make it work and eventually got it working only once, but she also acknowledged that something was wrong with it. Several light bulbs throughout the house were not working. Someone came to replace some of them, but the kitchen lights continued blinking and were never properly fixed. One of the bathroom sinks was clogged. I have attached a video showing that the water drained very slowly and remained in the sink for a while. On my last day I received a message saying that a replacement microwave had been left at the door. This was our last full day in the property. We tried using it that evening, but it overheated and did not work either. From the first day of our stay, we were unable to use the kitchen as advertised. We had purchased groceries expecting to prepare our meals, but instead we spent part of our vacation trying to find ways to heat our food and repeatedly contacting the property manager. I also want to point out that I reported these problems immediately. On the first night, I sent an email explaining the issues and received no response. On the second night, I sent another complaint and again received no response. Yesterday, I had to search for Booking.

The accommodation was comfortable, but a bit dated.

Très belle maison. Réceptionniste très sympa.

Trop juste en vaisselle pour 6 personnes.

La taille de la maison et les 3 salles de bain. La proximité à pied, même si les commerces n'étaient pas très proches. La situation en pleine nature.

Des revues sur la région, des cartes des sentiers de randonnée, pourraient être mises à disposition dans le salon. Nous n'avons pas réussi à faire fonctionner le four à micro-ondes. Et un des deux frigos, allumé pourtant, ne fonctionnait pas.

The house is located next to a farm, a construction site, and a container yard. The inside of the house was clean.

Virtual reception failed to answer a single message. The keys for the entrance were not in the place they told us they were supposed to be and there was no running water in one of two bathroom sinks.

Amazing location! Although it's tucked away from the town centre, it's a quick and pretty flat walk (fine to wheel luggage to/from).

Poor communication. Otherwise some minor bits to note: no bin in the small upstair toilet for the paper hand towels, and one of the soap dispenser was filled with water and not soap.

Excellent location in between all the sceneries. As it is off season it is a good value for the money. Very big and comfortable for our small group.

Some more necessary things like salt etc would be nice..as it is meant for big crowds more kitchen utensils were needed...

Si la cocina es de inducción las ollas y paellas deberian ser para inducción. Solo una paella y no va bien. Los cubiertos pocos y no muy buenos. Falta cichillo de pan. Un fluorescente fundido.

We lost power due to a bad storm. It would have been helpful to have flashlights or candles available.

Clean, big ,comfortable, for 10 of us, with full kitchen for our dinners & breakfast making, very near the trail to Brekesenfoss, a leisurely 20 mins walk ( WITHOUT LUGGAGE) to the Flåm Centre, and Flam Fjord Sauna The reception was helpful in getting another driver to pick us up from Flam central to holiday home and we booked her again for last day to fetch us ( with our luggage) back flam to catch our train. Original driver injured himself and couldn’t fetch us to accommodation and for the Stegastein view point

The water heater system. I communicated a lot with host , Alexia, about activities we can do in Flam and transport, but forgot to check with the home facilities like water heater. I did receive message on day of arrival regarding water heater system, but too overwhelmed with checking in plus other unforeseen events,( like the pte transport driver, last min couldn’t fetch us to Stegastein view pt, Becos he injured his ankle ), that I didn’t read message about water heater. We checked in and some guys started bathing longer then usual and realized the next few of us had to shower quickly in cold water, as the water heater needed time to reheat water . Even with this knowledge, the next night, 5 of us got to bath very quickly in hot water, the rest still in semi cold water( at least not freezing cold water like night before) even after we gave an hour for the heater to heat up.

Det fanns gott om plats i både kök, badrum och sovrum. Fina omgivningar med både djur och vattenfall. Det tar ca 20 minuter att promenera från tågstationen till huset.

Inte så välstädat överallt. En av kylskåpen var trasigt. Det borde stå en lapp att det är ur funktion.

Heel mooie en rustige locatie.

The house is big, charming and extremely clean. It provides everything one needs in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Very much appreciated the white, spotless sheets and bedding. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean. Quiet and peaceful area but still very easy to reach the town centre and the cruise terminal. Easy check-in and check-out, large parking area in front of the house and a very cute front yard. We highly recommend this property to anyone that wishes for a perfect stay in Flam.

Absolutely beautiful home on the outskirts of Flåm…only a short 15 minute walk to town. We were there for just one night, but it was very clean, the kitchen had everything you’d need and it had a rustic, comfortable charm about it. We only used two rooms, but there were at least two more available upstairs. This would be a great place for a family getaway. Bonus: a short walk from a trail leading up to the waterfall overlooking Flåm.

Positives The location is around half a mile walk to the Flam train station. Walking up to the house at night is not advisable as there are no street lamps. Bring a flashlight 🔦 with you if you arrive late. Your landmark will be the fall that is right across the house. The house is colored white next to the red house, which is another hostel like accommodation. Leaving the house checkout to the Flam train station, we opted for the shuttle car, which is 75KR per person. We didn't feel like lugging our luggage around. So you do have the option for the car shuttle if you want. Waterfalls It is near the waterfalls, which is really nice waking up in the morning and just watching the scenery. Negative It would have been nice if they provided coffee or tea. Overall, it was a comfortable nice accommodation.

One night stay at start of a road trip. 2 Couples with lots of space for us in great surroundings. The town was very close too.

The house is very spacious, with a beautiful location convenient to the central part of Flåm, very comfortable beds, and a nice washing machine.

There were zero basic supplies in the house, no laundry detergent, no salt, pepper, sugar, or coffee. We had to buy everything. I had to download the oven manual to know how to operate it. There's a built-in fridge that doesn't work, so another fridge was available, but it suggested the house may not be well maintained. The foam soap dispenser in the shower was strange (makes sense at a sink but not in a shower).

The house was absolutely beautiful with ample space for an adult family to spread out, kitchen was well equipped and had a beautiful view of a waterfall, beds were comfortable and area was quiet enough to sleep with windows open.

Has a farmhouse /country feel and has all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay…..the beds were comfortable and we slept well…. The views were amazing….can see the waterfall from the front porch…

That it was farther from town than we realized and we needed rides to/from town….. Directions for how to use the washer and laundry soap would have been nice….

The hosts were warm and arranged an alternative stay for us since the original property had some ongoing issue. They upgraded us to a beautiful property and made sure we didn't have to look for last minute arrangements.

The location and the home itself was spacious and the decor and furniture were immaculate. They offered a paid shuttle taxi and the driver Sonya was a pleasure to work with.

No dryer but they provided a stand to dry clothes.

Poor checkin process. Resulted in people who were supposed to be in the lower storey unit , were in the upper storey unit when we arrived. Total mix up. Also lack of essentials like microwave, iron & hairdryer.

The house was very large and with a great view over the mountains.

The cooking plate didn't work and there was no hot water. The phone wasn't picked up and not returned and my mail unanswered, even a reminder mail to try to solve the problem a few days later. The house is totally outdated with old furniture, broken electricity plugs which are dangerously removed from the wall and the smoke detectors not replaced. Lots of lamps don't work but especially the total lack of communication or feedback is very sad. If you then see what they charge the house, it's a total waste of money.
