Save yourself money book elsewhere When booking the property in March/ April 2026 for August 2026, the policy was full payment taken immediately and no money back for cancellation on any grounds. A week before arrival Anne sought a €200 refundable deposit via revolut only - no members had revolut so we suggested cash on arrival. Cash was refused, as Anne would "not be about to inspect the property" and refund the cash desposit. We set up a revolut account as we had no choice for alternative accommodation and honoured this refundable deposit that was not stipulated and came as a surprise to us 1 week before our stay. The grounds and property Firstly the most noticeable thing was a huge for sale sign place in the front garden. The gardens and grounds weren't maintained, it was like they had given up. In hindsight these alone should all have been red flags. The house layout wasn't convenient and the house was dated. The house was clean, but not to the standard of having a cleaner (which we have since learnt). For a party of 8, renting a house there were no home comforts or delicate touches. However, there was 1 litre of milk in the fridge, for 8 people. Anne herself was passible, some of the party described her dememor as a primary school teacher - speaking to us like children. Whilst during our stay one of our party was unwell, and was sick during the night. We cleaned up, put the sheets in the washing machine and put it on. There was also a cherub figurine hanging side by side with the pull cord in the bathroom which was mistakenly broken. This was all relayed to Anne, prior to checking out. After check out with Anne 'not being around to inspect the property' she claimed the mattress was ruined and would need replacing. Which also leads us to question in a rental property that has numerous people staying why there was no waterproof protectors on the mattress. Sure this is a hygiene necessary.

Overall a disappointing property. Had to air upper bedrooms on entering as strong musty smell. We ended up having cold showers downstairs (hot water was on an immersion), we rang and got instructions but we were pushed for time then. Not even a small carton of milk in the fridge for tea or coffee. House is very dated and old fashioned, dark sitting room, unkempt outside area.......lots of owners photos and personal effects (some religious imagery), not really ideal for renting a property. We were out all day until 5pm, then out again from 7pm so just used the house as as a base. Friends stayed in a property with the same number of bedrooms a short distance away and their property was outstanding and cheaper. For €630 for the night, I think water should be hot for entire stay, bath towels should be provided, the house should be aired and a minimum courtesy of a carton of milk, small accessories would be appreciated. It suited us to "lay our heads" but that was as far as it goes.

This place is a brilliant choice for a group celebration. The facilities were excellent. Clean and very comfortable! The host was welcoming and very accommodating. Five stars! Would 100% recommend and will definitely book again in the future.

House floors were filthy upon arrival. Location is far more isolated than advertised. Owner deducted security deposit on an issue that we had no control over and refused to respond to my message.

Very well laid out and had all you could ask for

Very spacious with lots of room for groups like ourselves. Close proximity to Carlingford town, we walked in and out. Taxis and also available at very reasonable rates.

When we arrived, we left our cars at the property and walked down the town. We arrived back later that evening and the host met us at the gate, somewhat worked up, telling us that there are far more people than we had booked for. I explained that there were 11 of us, as booked. She said that I had only booked and paid for 10 people. I showed her messages where I had in fact double checked that I had booked and paid for 11 people. As agreed on booking, I sent the host a €200 ‘security deposit’, which was to be returned on inspection of the property. The following morning, we got up, cleaned the house ensuring it was left as we had found it and checked out an hour before the check out time. I had to text the host later that evening to return the deposit, to which I got no reply. However, later on when checking my Revolut, I noticed €185 had been returned with a note saying cleaning fee had been deducted. At no point was it mentioned to me that there was a cleaning fee or that this would be deducted from my ‘security deposit’. I have since made contact, asking for clarification regarding this fee which has been ignored. Something to be wary of when booking!

House was so big, we had 6 adults and 4 children and didn't feel cramped at all. everything we needed was available in house. would highly recommend it. anne is a lovely host. very welcoming.

nothing wrong with the house but was a but disappointed in availability of restaurants and take aways in Carlingford. tried to order pizzas one night but was told they weren't doing take aways because restaurant was too busy.

Anna the owner met us on arrival and was very helpful regarding our stay.

Eden House was very close to the attraction we had booked for. The house was spacious and very well laid out for our extended family of 8. Plenty of space for the children to play outside. Highly recommend staying here.

Location was good.

The house was well laid out and we all had plenty of room. The house was clean and tidy and well located and the communication from the owner was top class. The bedrooms and beds were comfy and the house had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.

Lovely area . A warm welcome from the owner . The house was large and clean . We were allowed to check in early . Good to have dish washer tablets , washing up liquid , soap powder ect provided .

Rather dated facilities. Older furnishings and decor . Could do with an update . Bed linen clean but appeared well used . We were a group of 4 couples . House had owners personal affects on show , Photos, ornaments ect . Untidy sitting area outside , ( raining so not used ) .

Eden was was very comfortable and spacious. It was lovely to be able to sit outside and enjoy the mountain view. The house was spotlessly clean and Anne was very helpful with information on taxis. We had a lovely stay.

The property was very spacious, surroundings was gorgeous and it is only a 10 minute walk from the town. If you don’t like walking we were giving taxi numbers when we arrived but you honestly won’t need to.

The house was massive and spotless. We loved having the place to ourselves rather than having the owner stay at the property. It was super comfy. The heating was on in alternative times and the house was super warm that we had to crack the windows open a bit. We visited the place in March, it was around 5-8 deg Celsius outside. It was super dark and we loved watching the stars from the property. It was like in a Dark Sky Reserve. Lovely place and Lovely people. Anne who manages the property was very polite and kind. And the town was super cute. It's better to get reservations at the hotels in the town as it usually gets crowded during the weekends.

The downstairs showers pressure was not the best, suggest the electric shower upstairs for a nicer shower.

Showers need to be upgraded perhaps to power showers as very little water pressure in current downstairs showers.

20 minute walk into centre of Carlingford, spacious, clean, excellent facilities, perfect place for relaxing, friendly host.

Was a bit pricey but all the properties in the Carlingford area are on the expensive side.

Anne was a lovely host, and greeted us at the property. House itself was ideal for a large group with 5 decent sized rooms/ 3 bathrooms including 1 en-suite. Kitchen was fully equipped and we used it to cook for a group of 8 with no problem. Anne also left milk in the fridge and biscuits which were a lovely touch. There was also plenty of parking for cars, and a big garden if lucky with weather. Carlingford village was less than 5 min drive from house and Anne has taxi numbers for local taxi drivers which worked out great for us. I couldn’t recommend this house enough for a stay in Carlingford.

The only negative was even with immersion switched on, the downstairs shower was only warm and pressure not great.

Host was so accommodating and friendly.. House was beautiful, warm in decor & spirit.. V close to Carlingford.. Would definitely return again.

Great location & comfortable stay

Location is perfect, beautiful scenery and quiet. Very spacious house and outdoor area to rear of house is great. Comfortable beds. Shower upstairs is better than downstairs.

I had lovely stay in Eden House with a large group. The property really clean and the beds were really comfortable. Anne was very helpful and friendly. The house is also a very easy walk from the village.
