This hotel is stunningly presented & great value for money. The rooms were clean, quiet & well presented. The food served for breakfast lived up to the reviews posted by previous guests. Joseph & Saman were exceptional hosts, who couldn't do enough for us during our stay.

Die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich und haben sich wirklich Mühe gegeben, grade auch mit dem Frühstück. Das Haus ist richtig schön! Mit großem Gemeinschaftswohnzimmer und Küche. Da es lediglich drei Zimmer hat haben wir die anderen Gäste nie dort gesehen.

Der Weg in die Stadt war ein wenig interessant, aber vielleicht hatten wir uns auch verlaufen

De gastheer is ongelooflijk vriendelijk en deed er alles aan om ons verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken: toen we ‘s ochtends om 5u vertrokken naar Horton Plains gaf hij ons een ingepakt heerlijk ontbijt mee. De dag van ons vertrek waren we ziek en mochten we zo lang als we wilden in de gemeenschappelijke ruimte blijven waar het aangenaam vertoeven is. De kamers zijn mooi en ruim en het uitzicht op het meer is fantastisch.

Het gebrek aan verduistering en het lawaai van een discotheek, honden etc. Daar kan de eigenaar/gastheer evenwel niks aan doen.

Il proprietario è veramente gentile e disponibile, noi la mattina seguente siamo partiti alle 5.30 per andare a visitare l’ Norton plains national park e lui ci ha trovato un driver fantastico e ci ha fatto la colazione take away (ottim) e tutto questo alle 5.30 del mattino! Veramente grazie mille

Mooie ruime bungalow waar wij 2 kamers hadden. Eén kamer had een prachtig uitzicht op het meer. Beide kamers hadden prima bedden en een lekkere douche. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en ze serveren een heerlijk ontbijt.

Het gebouw oogt van binnen iets gedateerd en de extra bedden die op de kamers stonden zagen er smoezelig uit. In de avond hoor je muziek en honden, maar met oordopjes heb je daar geen last van.

Heel attente en behulpzame gastheren. Schitterende gezellige living met prachtig uitzicht op het meer.

Sehr schönes kleines Hotel mit nur drei Zimmern und wunderbare Aussicht auf den Lake Gregory. Der gemeinsame Wohn- und Essbereich im Erdgeschoss lädt zum verweilen ein und der Host ist sehr bemüht einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen. Von Restaurantempfehlungen über Tuktukbuchungen wurden alle Wünsche erfüllt

Architecturally stunning! The communal areas provide great views in ANY weather (we had wind and rain but it didn’t matter!!) Our room was upgraded to lake view - THANK YOU. Lake view is worth it! The room was VERY clean, our first available hot shower, good save in rooms, our first access to TV (not needed but nice touch). Staff were INCREDIBLE. Breakfast included and it was really delicious and both Sri Lankan and western style offered. A Tuktuk was booked for us to go to dinner and booked to return. This made our visit really enjoyable and stress free and the restaurant recommendation was EXCELLENT. Great atmosphere, live music and wonderful food. THANK YOU. Really strong WiFi.

This place gives you an amazing view of Gregory lake. The hosts were so welcoming and very hospitable. The breakfast they provided was fantastic and they were very attentive. A lovely little place (only three rooms so quiet) with a great lounge area too.

It is a beautiful British style cottage with a great view of lake Gregory. It has an open garden, and a common living room. The kitchen is fully equipped. The caretaker Joseph was very hospitable, and the owner was also quick to respond whenever required.

Wifi was not working on day 1, and was only fixed next day

Heel veel geluid: overdag van kinderdisco of kermis, 's nachts van blaffende honden. Het was er bijna nooit stil. Het internet viel vaak uit. Wij waren er 3 nachten en kregen 3 keer hetzelfde ontbijt.

We had a wonderful stay at The Bungalow and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It offers fantastic value for money, and the location is perfect for exploring nearby attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home throughout our stay. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The highlight was definitely the view from the balcony - it was absolutely breathtaking and the perfect place to relax and take in the scenery. Breakfast was another standout. It was fresh, delicious, and plentiful, giving us the perfect start to each day. Overall, The Bungalow exceeded our expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. A fantastic place with amazing views, great food, and wonderful hospitality!

The property and the room was comfortable and had amazing lake views.

The host Sama is decent but language issues are there. He goofed up during the payment and charged us twice. We wasted sometime in convincing him and his owned to return us the money in cash LKR. The exchange rate they gave was higher.

Super netter und hilfbereiter Gastgeber. Er hat uns auch den Weg zum Seeufer erklärt, sich immer um einen Tuktuk oder ein Taxi gekümmert. Auch die Fahrer sind super. War immer da, um uns zu helfen. Die Aussicht aus dem Zimmer ist total schön und auf dem Balkon kann man gut verweilen. Kaffee und Tee gibt es auf dem Zimmer und werden auch bei Ankunft angeboten. Man kann in ca. 20 Minuten in die Stadt, in 10 Minuten an den See laufen. Die Restaurantempfehlung ist super und entweder mit dem Tuktuk oder zu Fuß zu erreichen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

A great view, from a comfortable room, with access to a large shared space down stairs with full kitchen facilities. Exceptionally attentive staff, both of whom went out of their way 24/7 to make our 5 night stay enjoyable- nothing was too much trouble. The variety and generosity of the delicious, price included, breakfasts they served, always urging us the eat or request more, will not be forgotten. In our 20 years of international travel, the outstanding customer service delivered at The Bungalow, has only been equalled once. We highly recommend, and will absolutely rebook if we return to Nuwara Eliya.

Super schöne Unterkunft mit perfektem Ausblick auf den See und sehr sehr nette Gastgeber die sich um alles gekümmert haben. Das Frühstück war auch super und reichhaltig.

Barely slept for 2 days due to noise outside from 5am first day and 1am next day , completely spoiled trip and following days due to tiredness , was most expensive property we have stayed in on Sri Lanka trip and was not even half as good as property half the price , breakfast was cold , hard to communicate with staff and at end of trip owner completely unsympathetic and was basically told our lack of sleep was not their problem and demanded payment in full despite a very unsatisfactory stay

Het zicht vanuit de kamer was fantastisch! Ook de host was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Hij maakte voor ons een uitgebreid en lekker ontbijtje in de ochtend.

Nous avons tout aimé. La chambre, la propreté, le calme, l accueil au top de notre hôte. Le frigo à disposition. Un super petit déjeuner et un hôte à nos petits soins. Le jeu de dames à disposition ! La vue incroyable et le jardin. La proximité du centre, du lac. Nous y sommes allés à pied par des petits chemins. C était super. Nous serions bien restés plus longtemps.

Ganz herzlicher und freundlicher Empfang! Der Gastgeber war sehr hilfsbereit und hat darüber hinaus ein köstliches Frühstück gezaubert. Wir hatten einen wundervollen Blick über den See (kostenloses Zimmer-Upgrade) und insgesamt einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt!

Great stay, hosts were lovely and made a tasty breakfast. Gave us some travel tips for train too, beautiful property.

The bungalow is a very modern and comfortable place to stay. Our room was quite large, and the bathroom was also very spacious. The facilities provided were great also. The best part of the stay was definitely the stunning view of Lake Gregory, which was absolutely fantastic. The management team were also excellent. Joseph was especially kind and helpful, and even arranged a driver for us whenever we needed one.

Like other reviews mentioned, the drive leading up to the accommodation does make you second guess your decision at first. When you arrive, the back end of the property isn’t the most appealing and there are quite a few dogs around. However, once you are inside, it definitely makes up for it. There is also quite a lot of noise at night from the lake and surrounding animals, although this is out of the property’s control.

Останавливались на одну ночь при посещении чайных плантаций. Прекрасный, очень комфортный дом. Очень чисто. В номерах всё необходимое, есть горячая вода, удобный матрас и хорошее бельё. Сначала показалось, что в номере прохладно, но спать оказалось очень комфортно. Вид потрясающий! Просыпаться утром с таким видом под пение птиц - настоящее удовольствие. Очень гостеприимное место. Нас прекрасно встретил хозяин, помог со всеми вопросами, подсказал вкусное место, помог заказать тук-тук. Завтрак был просто шикарным! Рекомендую

This was a lovely place to stay and my room had a wonderful view of the lake. I spent the night of my birthday there and in collaboration with my driver there was a small birthday cake in my room when I arrived, which was a lovely surprise. The made a great recommendation for somewhere to go for dinner, a short tuk tuk ride away (and they called the tuk tuk for me too).

You drive down a long lane to find the property and it was a little unprepossessing on arrival, so much so that we drove past it at first. However once we found it, it was great!

Perched high up overlooking Gregory Lake. Joseph & Samon were our perfect hosts. There are only 3 rooms, two look over the lake. Comfortable living room with big sofa to relax. Plentiful breakfast. If you are happy to walk, two good restaurants within 15-20 (Indian Summer & Themadardu), if not Joseph can organise Tuk Tuk for you. Lovely walks around the Lake & Victoria Park. Nuwara is busy but you can get provisions if needed. Our highlight, suggested by Joseph was a walk on the Pekeo Trail from Kandapola to Lovers Leap waterfall. It’s a tough 10-12k walk but you go through the most amazing tea plantations and extraordinary vegetation terraces. Views are spectacular.

The Bungalow is a stunning home with spectacular views. The large living spaces and the friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us were also the highlights. The Bungalow is by far the most lovely place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka.

Very loud music from the fair at the lake went until nearly 11pm. It’s not clear whether this occurs every night. The water constantly dripping in the fire place. It would have been nice to have a fire however this was not possible because of the water. However over all I would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful home.

Hôtel agréable avec une très belle vue sur le lac, ce qui rend le séjour particulièrement paisible. Le petit-déjeuner est bon et le cadre est vraiment agréable. L’hôtel est un peu éloigné du centre, mais il reste possible d’y aller à pied en environ 20 minutes, ce qui reste raisonnable. Petit bémol : une légère odeur de sanitaires dans la salle de bain dans notre chambre. Globalement, le rapport qualité-prix est correct et l’endroit reste agréable pour séjourner à Nuwara Eliya.

Our history couldn’t have been more helpful, meeting us, helping with bags and making us some tea on arrival. He was so kind and welcoming and helped us plan our stay and arrange onward taxis. The view exceeded expectations, as did the room. The perfect stay in Nuwara Eliya, I couldn’t recommend this place more.

El único pero es la lejanía al centro de Nuwara Elya pero ya contábamos con ello

Težek dostop. Velika okna in zgornji del se ni dalo zatemniti. Ne glede na to pa je bilo vse ostalo popolno.

The noise travels from surrounding area (music at Gregory lake) which makes it hard to settle at night. The property lacks sound proofing within the bungalow also.

Lovely place just a little out of town but tuck Tula are cheap. Nice friendly staff

Wir wurden sehr herzlich in der Unterkunft empfangen und bei der Planung unserer Aktivitäten sowie dem Organisieren eines Fahrers unterstützt. Uns wurde sogar um 5 Uhr morgens ein To Go Frühstück vorbereitet, als wir eine Wanderung in den Nationalpark machten. Der Service war also top! Das Zimmer ist auch gut ausgestattet und hat einen tollen Blick auf den See.

Leider gab es im Bad einen starken Chlorgeruch, welcher auch durch Lüften nicht verschwand. Auch war es durch die kalten Temperaturen in Nuwara Eliya im Zimmer recht kühl, was es etwas ungemütlich gemacht hat.

Шикарный вид из гостиной (из нашего номера особенно ничего видео не было). Недалеко от автовокзала и 10 минут от променада по Gregory lake. Отель предоставляет услуги тук тука, он свозил нас на чайную плантацию и предлагал покататься по городу по садам (мы отказались) так как насмотрелись в канди на сады. В целом все было хорошо, прохладная погода была (я даже замёрз у озера) . В отеле вечером закупились едой в кафе у озера , поиграли в гостиной в настолки и в целом весело провели время. Все время персонал нам помогали советом и были очень вежливы и приносили чай. Очень красиво.

Расположение недалеко но запутано, тук тук со стороны долго ездил искал это место.

Booking permet des réservations pour deux adultes et deux enfants mais il n y a qu'un lit deux places et un lit une place dans la chambre. Nous y restions qu'une nuit donc on a dormi avec notre fille dans le grand lit sans soucis mais il faudrait revoir les conditions de réservation Booking.

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön. Der Aufenthaltsbereich, sowie der Blick aus dem Zimmer ist toll. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Die Unterkunft ist doch etwas abgelegen. Ohne TukTuk läuft man sehr lange in die Stadt.

Останавливались на одну ночь. Виды с лобби и номера на озеро и горы, очень красивые. Сам отель ухоженный, лофтовый, все как на фото. В номере панорамные окна, балкончик. Хороший завтрак, сервис на высоте. Единственное, холодно. Но это по сравнению со всем остальным мелочь, все-таки горы. Хорошо бы предусмотреть обогреватель для гостей :). Дорога к отелю достаточно узкая, есть парковочка. Хозяин нам порекомендовал очень хороший ресторанчик на ужин и вызвал тук-тук.

The view

When I checked in, they told me they were overbooked. I had to pay more amount at the very last minute and book a new property. The owner told me he texted me on the booking.com app just the day before my reservation. They shouldn’t be taking in any reservations at all if they are sold out. Horrible staff and service.

The location was good.

Rooms were not cleaned nor were the towels changed after 24hrs.

The view

Vi blev budt velkommen af ham der ejer stedet og han var meget imødekommende, rar og smilende. Værelserne har en virkelig flot udsigt ud over søen og var meget pæne og velholdte. Om morgenen fik vi en super god morgenmad.
