The Front Door N12

Das "Front Door Nr12" ist ein typisches, altes schmales Haus in einer Gasse in der Altstadt, in unmittelbarer Nähe des Zentrums mit den großzügig angelegten Plätzen und dem markanten Rathaus von Ieper/Ypern. Die 3 Etagen des Hauses wurden zur Gänze restauriert und modernst ausgestattet. Das ursprüngliche Flair wurde jedoch erhalten, die im Originalzustand erhaltene Holztreppe, die alle Stockwerke verbindet, trägt wesentlich dazu bei. Im Erdgeschoß ist mittels eine Glaswand ein Mini-Vorraum abgetrennt mit einem WC, dann gelangt man in den Küchen-Ess-Wohnbereich. Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet, auch Grundgenussmittel (Tee, Kaffee, Zucker, Gewürze) und Reinigungsmittel sind vorhanden. Die Wohnlandschaft ist so ausgelegt, dass auch bei einer Vollbelegung von 6 Personen (wir waren zu Dritt) gemütliches Zusammensitzen möglich ist. Es gibt eine kleine, vom Wohnbereich zugängliche Terrasse mit einem Tisch und 6 Sesseln, die komplett mit Mauern umgeben und damit uneinsichtig ist. Ein großer Baum auf einem Nachbargrundstück bringt jedoch Grün und Schatten und damit etwas Heimeligkeit in diesen Außenbereich. Im ersten Stock befindet sich ein Zimmer und das Badezimmer, im zweiten Stock weitere zwei Zimmer. Jedes Zimmer ist mit einem breiten Doppelbett ausgestattet. Durch die großen Fensterfronten, vor allem in Richtung Garten, ist das ganze Haus sehr hell. Kostenlose Parkplätze sind in unmittelbarer Nähe reichlich vorhanden. Vor dem Haus ist Kurzparkzone, man findet zum Ein- und Ausladen auch dort immer einen freien Parkplatz.

Es gibt von unserer Seite keine Kritik, es hat alles bestens gepasst. Dieses Haus ist für mobilitätseingeschränkte Menschen aufgrund der Mehrgeschoßigkeit und der schmalen Holztreppe natürlich nicht geeignet. Wer zum Schlafen absolute Dunkelheit benötigt, sollte sich eine Schlafmaske mitnehmen, die Verdunkelung der großzügigen Fensterflächen reicht dafür nicht aus. Wer sich viel Deko und "Schnickschnack" in einem Feriendomizil erwartet, wird sich hier auch nicht wohlfühlen, denn alles ist auf Zweckmäßigkeit und klare Linien ausgerichtet.

The location is excellent - just around the corner from the Cloth Hall. Walking distance to bars and restaurants. Five minutes to the Menin Gate.

Vlakbij gratis lang parkeren en het centrum. Ruime woonkamer, slaapkamers en douche. Erg goed bed. Toilet op de begane grond en op de eerste verdieping. Goed en snel contact met de eigenaar over bijvoorbeeld de toegangscode voor de deur.

Regen douche met weinig water druk die niet warm genoeg wil worden. Vlekken op de muren, vlekken op de bank. Handgreep van de keuken die loszit. Hout wurm in de trap. Nergens een schilderij of (kunst) bloem of plant. Hierdoor oogt het sfeerloos en saai, een mannen huis 😉

Very nice and clean apartment with everything you could need. And more than big enough for 6 people. Absolutely perfect location if you want to walk to the square in the evening for a meal. Even walkable to the Menin gate if you want to pay your respects.

The location was excellent, the property was immaculate. On three levels, but easy to access from the street. Large rooms, great living room area with good, comfortable sofas, separate dining area, a proper kitchen that is very well stocked with all the basics and utensils.

This is an exceptional apartment within Ypres. The property is large with all facilities provided. All three of the bedrooms are extremely sizeable. The lounge / kitchen area is ideal. The host, Pascal, was so helpful: his pre-arrival messages were full of information, extremely clear and precise, and he responded to my messages very quickly. The kitchen was stocked with condiments (tea, coffee, sugar etc - all the stuff which you need but may have forgotten to bring for a short stay), plus very nice, thoughtful extras (chocolates, OJ, water etc....a very nice touch). The location is absolutely ideal....literally a few mins walk to the main square, Menin Gate etc but also in a quiet area. Parking (for free) is just around the corner. Absolutely recommend this property...it is superb. We stayed for one night in October 2023 during a WW1 battlefields trip. This is my second stay in Ypres within the last three months....I have to say, properties and hosts within Ypres are the best....they really know what they are doing and how to provide top-class accommodation at a good price. Thank you, Pascal, I will be returning to book with you.

The house was simply stunning! It has absolutely everything you could need, was very spacious and beautifully decorated. There were plenty of towels, and even shampoo and shower gel supplied. The beds were enormous and extremely comfortable and there was ample space in the bedrooms for all travelling paraphernalia. A lovely welcome pack was left by the host too. Contact from the host was fantastic, answering any questions promptly, in a friendly manner and when asked he even recommended some great restaurants in the area too. We had an amazing stay here and will definitely be booking further trips in future.

Brilliant location, close to a supermarket, free parking, the centre of town and lots of restaurants to suit all budgets. Lots of room in the townhouse and it was very clean. Really liked having free dishwasher tablets and other basics. Lots of plugs to charge and use devices such as phones and hairdryer. Nice touch having wine and water in the fridge.
