Reviewed Jul 18, 2026Hébergement spacieux . Hôte très réactif qui a répondu de suite à notre problème d’eau chaude et qui nous a conseillé des activités à faire dans le secteur.
Un peu bruyant avec la route à proximité. Il manque également des espaces de rangement , un 2eme chevet dans la chambre du bas aurait été appréciable. Il faudrait également rajouter des ustensiles de cuisine.

Reviewed May 15, 2026The host ruined the stay with her way of dealing with us, so it wasn't a good stay.
The property is advertises an 11.30 checkout time. The host called continuously to get us out of the property as the cleaner was employed from 11am, and demanded a late checkout fee of 25 euro by 3pm, for us not being out by 11am, when checkout is from 11.30am, how does that make sense? She then reported us for not having paid by 3pm.

Reviewed Apr 6, 2026Open fire , 4 good sized double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Close to Donegal Town, local shops close by. House was lovely and clean with fully kitted out kitchen.
We spent a lot of time at the house due to bad weather, with 4 young adults with us they found the Internet poor and the TV was not a smart TV, so very limited for connectivity and casting from mobile devices the sound quality on the TV was poor. The double bedrooms had only one bedside unit, we were able to bring in a child seat to use which was handy also the double beds had only 2 pillows per bed, would expect 4. We found the road noise was constant day and night due to the proximity of the N15, The oven only had one shelf which was difficult when cooking a dinner for 6. On arrival we wanted to light the fire, had to go to local garage to buy fire lighters, coal and matches, this is the first property we have stayed at where fuel was not provided for an open fire even just to get started.

Reviewed Mar 29, 2026The location of this property was excellent. 5 minutes drive from Donegal Town and its choice of bars and restaurants. This area is very central for sightseeing in North Sligo and County Donegal. The Gables was spacious, clean, well equipped and perfect for our needs.

very rude owner because of snow conditions was suggesting us to park on a 100km/h national road and not taking responsibility of any damage on road on car which is not legal and also guest didn’t prepare driveway with salt and grit and no previous instructions about parking

Not enough hot water. We had six people and only two had sufficient hot water for showers even though the two that did, took fairly quick showers. No coffee maker available. No paper goods like paper towels available.

Reviewed Oct 9, 2025The home was very comfortable and accommodated the 6 of us comfortably. It is a quaint home in a beautiful setting. There was an issue with the water in the kitchen, however Patricia had already arranged for the problem to fixed. She is a very responsive and helpful host.
It would have been nice if there were additional/different bed pillows.

he only reasons I didn't give a higher rating are 2: the proximity to the A road, so traffic noise could be heard almost constantly even with all windows closed, and we also had issues with the heating as on a couple of occasions we returned from a day out only to find that the boiler had not heated the water for the bathrooms. Also we were unlucky enough to have 3 rainy days, meaning that without a dryer we were unable to get almost any clothes dry so we could not use the washing machine much, being a group of 7 persons this was a bit of an issue for us.

Reviewed Feb 25, 2025The house was very spacious and in a great location, a short easy 5 min drive from Donegal town. The beds were very comfortable. The decor was traditional and the shower was lovely and warm. There were plenty of towels and shampoo/ conditioner available. Great communication from the host. 2 mins from a large shopping store which opens until 10pm.
It was a little bit cold, but that's to be expected with such a large property. When we turned the heating on, it warmed up. The only thing I didn't really like was that there was a cinnamon air freshener in the hallway, which was a strange smell when you walk in.

There were too many struggles, to get started the google location is pointing to a different place. Upon reaching the property there were struggles to turn ON the heater, which didn’t work but luckily the weather itself was better to save us. There were multiple struggles to get hot water, but nothing helped. Somehow we managed to get ready with cold water itself, again thanks to weather on that day! Surpassingly there are no mirrors in bed rooms. Across four bed rooms, just one room had mirror. To get ready we have to reach nearby bathroom which is not convenient!
