L'emplacement est très proche de la mer et aux portes de skiberreen où il y a tout ce qu'il faut. Le logement est petit mais bien agencé. À 5 nous n'étions pas trop à l'étroit. La literie est à ressorts, mais confortable.

Nous sommes restés sans douche pendant les 4 premiers jours de notre séjour en raison d'une fuite, l'eau s'écoulant dans le séjour à travers le plafond. Cette fuite était de toute évidence déjà existante, car le plafond était déjà très très très endommagé à notre arrivée et les joints de la douche avaient été renforcés. Le propriétaire Michael n'a donc d'une part pris aucune mesure pour régler le problème en amont de notre réservation, et n'a pas jugé utile de nous avertir du problème. Lorsque nous avons constaté la fuite, nous avons cherché à le joindre mais il n'a pas répondu avant 24h. Même Jonathan le property manager n'avait pas de réponse. Un plombier a fini par passer, grâce à l'aide de Jonathan. Cela nous a bloqué une journée entière au logement. Ce plombier n'est venu qu'avec du silicone pour changer les joints. Il connaissait donc certainement le problème. La douche a néanmoins continué à fuir, et le propriétaire que l'on a averti ne nous a plus répondu. Nous avons dû nous laver dans une bassine pendant tout le séjour. En parallèle, voici les autres soucis : pas suffisamment de vaisselle (3 verres, 3 petites cuillères pour 5), une machine à laver cassée, un aspirateur qui ne fonctionnait pas, un fil à linge minuscule et pas d'etendoir, une table extérieure insuffisante pour 5, et seulement 4 chaises, des ampoules en intérieur qui n'eclairent pas, alors que le logement est particulièrement sombre, et un ménage qui laissait à désirer, avec des araignées partout, des plaids douteux... Bref, passez votre chemin. Ce propriétaire est de toute évidence malhonnête. Dommage car le logement pourrait être très agréable avec un minimum d'efforts de sa part.

Man sieht an vorherigen Bewertungen das Kritik nicht immer willkommen ist, daher beschränke ich mich auf das Offensichtliche. Der Rohrbruch und das Lecken von Wasser durch die Decke auf die Couch, was in Bewertungen im April 2026 angesprochen wurde, waren im Juli noch nicht behoben. Die Wasser- und Schimmelflecken im Wohnbereich an der Decke sprechen für sich. Was hier fehlt ist der Gedanke "was fänden Gäste gut" - bunt gemischtes Mobiliar, keine zwei gleichen Besteckstücke oder Geschirrteile, viele Dinge die in den letzten 30 Jahren einfach irgendwo übrig geblieben sind, sind keine Einrichtung für Gäste die man willkommen heißt. Wir kommen nicht wieder

Cozy cottage. Had everything we needed and was an ideal escape from the busy life.

We had issues with the water leaking through to the bottom floor every time someone would shower.

The property has potential and was reasonably priced but needs a really deep clean.

I am not fussy and very rarely leave negative reviews, but I have to make an exception here as unfortunately the property was very dirty and clearly unprepared on my arrival. Externally I was greeted to a dirt track and an overflowing skip at the location where I was instructed to park the car. That could be excused if that was the end of the dirt. Unfortunately it was only the beginning. Inside, the apartment had clearly not been cleaned at all after the previous occupants had left. The kitchen floors were dirty, there were cornflakes on the kitchen floor and even some on the dining chairs, the kitchen table was sticky and a filthy tea-towel sat on the kitchen countertop. The upstairs floors and stairwell were badly in need of a hoover, cobwebs hung on the light shades and radiators. However, what really broke it for me was that the bedclothes had not even been changed and were clearly dirty, with hairs and obvious dirt in the beds. I had asked to check in one hour earlier than the host usually allows, this request was rejected with cleaning cited as the reason; I changed my plans to arrive 5 hours after the check-in time yet the apartment was still filthy. As I arrived late I sent a message to the host but didn’t call due to the late hour. Thankfully I had arrived before the others who were due to stay with me did. I happened to find a set of new bedclothes in a downstairs cupboard so changed the bed clothes on one bed so that I could sleep in a somewhat clean situation. The rest of the bedclothes had to be washed and dried the next day. The host initially appeared to be apologetic and helpful, and said he would send the cleaner to sort the place out. This never happened. Also, his next messages gave clear indication that he did not believe me that the apartment had not been cleaned or prepared.

Location was lovely, easy to locate and access key.Suited us very well.Beach 4 minute drive away,great scenery.Cottage small,but all we needed,great price. Great tv!! Granddaughters and us loved the fox that called!! Fed and watered,he stayed for ages!

Lovely cozy cottage in a great location to explore

Loved the location. Very quiet and rural but close enough to skibbereen and local beaches that you don't have to isolate if you don't want to. Plus side to having no phone reception but WiFi is it means you can control how reachable you are without effort. . Cottage was lovely, cozy and had everything we could have needed. Also check out the artwork, some real talent on display. Just loved this trip, very refreshed and relaxed after it.

Beautiful location, secluded and quiet, well appointed. Good wifi, everything needed was present in kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom. Within reasonable reach of Skibbereen.

The house was dirty.Unpleasant smell from furniture,from bed linen.In the shower room the watering can did not work.Upon arrival, the floors on the first floor were very wet and dirty.TV without Internet access,only through the application and personal account on the phone.

From the moment we arrived, we loved this cottage! Its location is so peaceful. We stayed for 6 nights. Inside had everything you would need washing machine, microwave, fridge, table top freezer, everything we needed was there which was great with young children! The location is fabulous, such a good base to get to different attractions. We had great communication with Michael prior to our arrival with very clear directions, etc. We look forward to visiting here again sometime. Thank you!

I have to be honest and say I ticked all the boxes for cleanliness etc, even though we didn't actually stay, I just assumed they were very good...We we're booked in for 3 nights this last week,, and Michael who owns the cottage reported a burst pipe the day before we set off, we expected to have to cancel and sure these things happen...but no Michael booked and fully paid for alternative accommodation with another local provider, for us, checking in with me that the amount of beds etc was all sufficient...I must say we have had a lovely time as the second house Michael organised was lovely (as I am sure was Michael's cottage!) And the whole break was salvaged for me and 3 teenagers who well deserved this short break, so thank you so much, for going above and beyond, much appreciated!!!

The cottage was lovley. central to all the places we wanted to visit. Micheal our host was very helpful. we are looking forward to a return visit in the future. we would recommend this accomadation to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in West Cork.

The overall feel of the property was great. I wish we could spend more time around the cottage but we had a pretty full schedule. Fully equipped, all amenities in good condition

The tv didn’t work couldn’t get the channels only for the now stick I brought with me we’d be looking at the walls . The owner was saying it was because of the clouds but I tryed the tv when there wasn’t any clouds but it was the same way. The mini freezer was dirty in side .the microwave was also dirty and had rust . When we arrived at the property we were dying for a cup of tea the tea bags were out of date and there was no milk in the fridge . I tryed to check in at 2 instead of 4.30 but it was declined as the owner said that they were people checking out that morning and he wanted to give the cleaner time to tidy up the place . Didn’t think it would take 5 hours to clean a small house .the shower was small

Small, well-kept cottage in the middle of greenery. Perfect for those seeking peace and relaxation. Kind owner. Convenient proximity to Skibberren and located near some lovely places to visit on your own with your car.

It was lovely touch that there was firewood left so we could light the stove. House very comfortable and instructions very clear.

Outstanding cottage- warm, cosy, excellent cooking facilities and perfect Wi-Fi. Beautiful surroundings and only a ten minute drive from the local shops and restaurants. Michael made us feel very welcome and I cannot thank him enough for providing us with all the information and help we needed before our stay and during. When I’m visiting West Cork in the future, Fernery Garden Cottage will be the first place I check for availability. Absolute bliss.

Good communication from Host. All instructions provided before hand for smooth check in process. Calm and Quiet Location. Good WIFI. Nice shower.

Beds were comfortable. Shower was very good. Washer/dryer was excellent. TV had all UK satellite channels. WIFI was good, only dropped a few times.

Spiders and insects were everywhere. Location is remote down poor quality roads. Bins were not collected so nowhere to put our rubbish. Restricted parking due to farmers access to land.

Great location for anyone looking to explore West Cork. Great pub, the Skibbereen Eagle at Tragumna, is approx 5 min drive away (excellent food too). Skibbereen is approx 10 mins drive - access to supermarkets, take aways, cafes, and the N71. Michael the host is welcoming & very helpful. It's open plan/one room downstairs (which suited us). The shower is amazing... Be aware that you do need a car/access to transport.

not easy to locate as it is up a side road needs proper signage directions to help locate property host was not answering phone found it by the postman. Needs proper directions on manual eircode didn't work and there was no phone signal at house..simple signage on main road and side roads to guide

It is an amazing location if you look for a super quite place. Nature and nothing else ;-) I loved it!!!!

Only point that can be improved is the kitchen equipment: we didn't have enough pots and pans because the few that were there were impossible to use, with the non-stick coating ruined

The location was a dream, no noise, just birds and cows. Everything you needed was in the cottage. Nice fire in the evenings to keep you warm. One of the best showers I've had in a while. Lovely beaches closeby. Close to Skibbereen where you'll find everything you need

The vista driving in and nearness to a multitude of sites made the location perfect. The host was responsive to our needs. The layout was comfortable.

The springs on the bunk were quite evident. No bake wear. The washer/dryer unit was being difficult.

The location suited us to the ground. The cottage was clean well provisioned and secure
