the hotel was lovely, with fabulous views and a gorgeous setting. the staff was friendly welcoming and very helpful. the food was excellent, both evening meal and breakfast with plenty choice. we had a lovely room with a brilliant view. Breakfast was excellent but dinner. They dont know how to cook a steak well done Frozen chips which were cold. Frozen onion rings still stuck together. Not edible at all. Refunded 1 meal.

Generally it was in a nice setting not too far from the road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was good and the food great. I’d recommend and happily go back.

Location perfect for our stay in D&G. Friendly helpful staff. Good parking. Lovely grounds and terrace planting (red begonias). Fabulous chandelier in main staircase. Menu suited us especially fish options. Plenty of breakfast options for us. Toiletries very good.

Climb-in shower not a favourite arrangement; grab handles not provided; non-slip area inside bath too short, didn't extend to shower area.

I love the room we were given 201, it was very spacious and had enough beds for our party of 4. It was extremely comfortable and felt like a home away from home

Una vecchia magione trasformata in hotel all'interno di un parco. Camera ampia bella signorile con grande letto molto comodo. Silenziosissima. Alla sera abbiamo cenato ottimamente nel ristorante dell'albergo a prezzi per niente eccessivi. Molto buona anche la colazione alla mattina, di qualità , con dolce e salato e frutta fresca.

Very spacious room for our family of four, comfy beds, lovely bathroom and great food! We had a few starters upon arrival for lunch, had dinner in the Hotel’s restaurant and breakfast the following morning, fabulous! The staff were all amazing!

Room was a little warm and the window only opened a fraction (understand me for safety) We had a fan which we used but something stronger would be better for the warmer months.

The hotel was stunning. Clean and very high standard. The decor very modern aswell. Staff were fabulous and the food in restaurant was really nice. Lovely breakfast both mornings aswell. Bed was super comfy and facilities in room.

Location is near by towns and shops if you have a car which most probably do. If I had to find one fault it is only to be picky... nowhere around the hotel to go out and walk

Poor ventilation in the shower/bathroom which meant that you couldnt really keep anything in there as it got really wet. There was no power point in the bathroom for hairdryer etc and no mirror near a power point in the room to do hair/makeup etc.

I was upgraded. The room was large and very clean. Great bed and also the food in the restaurant was very nice. It is a lovely hotel.

Very very minor. Too many doors to go through especially with more than once piece of luggage. Also extremely minor the Guinness from a can needs to be cooler.

Checking in was hassle free. We really enjoyed our stay excellent room. Food was first class.

Bellissimo albergo in mezzo al verde, colazione fantastica!

Breakfast was cooked perfectly. Hot breakfasts cooked to order and plenty of choice of cereal/ croissants/ fresh fruit pots and yoghourt. Restaurant is small and welcoming so need to book a breakfast time which we preferred. It is a perfect location for a quiet stay and close to the coast, we even had a modern room with views over fields and could see the coast too. Hotel was busy but all members of staff were polite and helpful. Plenty of easy parking.

Maybe something in the grounds to take a walk to and sit in fresh air?

Hetland is a beautiful hotel with a stunning terrace and quirky decoration, which has been thoughtfully done. Scottish nods but modern too. We thought it was delightful. The staff were exceptional and the food delicious, and very plentiful! What was also very appreciated that the cost of drinks weren’t extortionate which they often can be in hotels. Not pub prices but certainly not over the top. We would certainly look to revisit.

Our room was small, perfectly adequate for a one night stay but not for any longer than that. It was well appointed but more suitable for one person rather than a couple.

Beautiful building, grounds and interior. The suites are amazing - it was our 10 year anniversary and my birthday and the staff had arranged a welcome platter for our anniversary.

Some of the breakfast staff were rather lacklustre and, unfortunately, not particularly welcoming. I asked whether I could pay for a cappuccino with my breakfast, but was told this wasn’t possible. As a Managing Director who travels frequently, I have stayed in many hotels and this is the first time I have experienced being refused the option to purchase a cappuccino at breakfast. I found this quite disappointing and feel it would be worth reviewing both the level of service and the flexibility offered to guests at breakfast.

Position of room, didn’t like that one of the room windows overlooked the bins at the back of the hotel . Also noisy at end of service at night.

Location was great, staff very nice and friendly, made to feel very welcome in the restaurant even though I was on my own. Food was good, separate gluten free menu, if you need. Hotel was good at this price point, room was decent size, good sized car park..an enjoyable stay.

The hotel doesn’t use pillow protectors. The pillowcases are open at the ends and you can see the actual pillows are very dirty with yellow stains. I slept on the cleanest one. This could be easily solved with protectors.

My family and I were locked out of the hotel after returning 2am Saturday morning from a family party. The front doors were locked and when we called the hotel, the recording played and no one answered.

Friendly, helpful staff. Harry was amazing. Room was massive and very spacious. Bed was extremely comfy as was the sofa bed. There was a wedding which didn't affect us in any way, shape or form. Couldn't hear any music from our room. Dinner was lovely and there was plenty to choose from at breakfast.

There was nothing we didn't like about our stay apart from having to leave.

We were down for a local wedding staff at hotel was very helpful and well located rooms were beautiful also best cooked breakfast I’ve had in a while.

A beautiful hotel in a excellent setting. Conveniently located to explore Dumfries and Galloway. The room was large with a comfortable sitting area, comfy bed and lovely ensuite. Staff were excellent and attentive ensuring we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The staff were always helpful. The room refreshed daily. Breakfasts were very good. The expansive grounds were good to look at but underused.

One chair in our room and not wonderfully comfortable. Got a second chair but not comfortable. Had to sit on the bed to watch TV no instructions on how to work TV. No lounge with comfortable chairs. No salads on the menu despite the very hot weather. Our room no 1 was adjacent to room 2 whenever they entered or exited our door was affected like someone trying to get in.

Breakfast and breakfast were wonderful. Meal exceptionaland choice good.

We went to the hotel as part of our wedding day . Reception staff seemed unaware called me three times on my wedding day when i should of been having hair and make up shame because restaurant staff are amazing . I hope that someone reads this and maybe gives a little training to customer service the hotel as the the scope to be amazing .

The hotel was lovely beautifully decorated. The breakfast was superb. The staff were great very helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant which we enjoyed.

Sadly and I suppose this is not really a reflection of trueness of the hotel but there was a large party on our room was over the venue and the noise and more in terms of behaviours went on until well after 2 this was not expected ina gentle hotel we had stayed in 4 others in our tour and we were really looking forward to this but teh staff seemed distracted and there was a lot. Of inconvenience only the young girl in the bar had enough about her to apologise Whilst I appreciate they must have parties to keep going there has to be a limit In our opinion this did ruin the stay

The rooms were spacious and tidy. Genuinly got a wow feeling steping into the room. Plenty options and surface to put my things on. Breakfast was ok as well: great choice of continental breakfast, and the cooked breakfast was ready quite quick.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, great choice of food. Hotel in beautiful surroundings, we enjoyed our walk around the area. Highly recommended and we will definitely go back again.

felt like a wedding venue with not much else to offer; weather prevented us form exploring outside space;

Smart hotel with friendly staff. We were upgraded to a larger room at the backin the new part of the hotel. Food was good and server with a smile. Lovely grounds and outside areas although weather was dull so didn’t manage to enjoy them. The main areas are modern and smart.

Bed was a bit soft for our liking but would certainly stay there again.
