The Huntingdon

An absolute treat from start to end.Only an overnight stay but 100% stay again.We stayed in the annexe which was excellent and spotless.We don't usually have breakfast but it's a definite must here.Lastly but not least the staff were brilliant and very friendly and a credit to this establishment.Just a perfect 10 all-round.👏👍

Doubt even some of the 4 in a bed crew could find anything wrong here.

The location is a short walk from train station. The rooms are clean and updated.

Lovely B&B and host! Even though we were running late and hadn't been in touch, Freda was very responsive when we arrived. The home was decorated so beautifully and breakfast was a plus. Just wonderful all around!

The rooms decor was very nice, bathroom facilities are good.

The door access system was problematic, we had problems with it as did other guests. Felt the wording of some of the communication had not been read and was a little impersonal. We didn't see the host until we checked out, there was no enquiry as to how we found our stay, more Interested in using their phone to check us out. Parking is very limited.

The whole experience was wonderful, from the friendly, helpful staff to the beautiful rooms, the delicious food and the relaxing atmosphere.

The location was good for our visit. Breakfast was ok and the host kind and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable although a little tight on space. The ambience of the property was delightful and very clean.

Did not realise that there would be so many steps to get too allocated room 2 and then down a flight of stairs for breakfast. Not easy when you have spinal and hip issues. Parking limited first come etc and street parking busy

A minor oversight im sure but there was no spoon for tea / coffee making. Could have done with more milk too but wasn't a problem as we only stayed for the night.

The bed clothes were not pressed . one had the feeling one was sleeping in previously slept in beds. Breakfast :had to be ordered the night before. Only a cooked breakfast was offered.( Which we don’t eat.) No juice no cereal no fruit . We had to purchase bananas yoghurt and cereal each morning as there was no cooling facility to keep milk etc. The room was not serviced whilst we were staying. No soap was replenished during the stay and the bottles were empty on arrival?

Lovely room, very clean. Powerful shower. Kettle and coffee machine. Tea bags, biscuits etc. Host offered to move her car to let us in the parking area although not taken up, nice gesture. Shower gel provided.

Very nice hotel for a couple nights visit. Nicely appointed decor and clean everywhere. The breakfast items we chose from the menu was spot on, no problem at all. Just a 10 minute walk into town. Everything was fine for us. Everyone was very friendly, even the pet rabbit.

Staying at the Huntingdon is an excellent choice. Easy communication, fantastic rooms in a place with some history of which Freda is happy to tell you about. Happy to come back! Dumfries (and also Newton Stewart) are good places to explore the Lowlands

The room was separate from the main building. Very spacious inside. A seating area outside. Big tv screen.

The bed was awful, mattress needs replaced. Very soft and lumpy. The pillows were too flat.

Location was great. Easy instructions for accessing accommodation. Clean, comfortable and spacious.

Excellent location, 2 minutes walk from the train station. Town centre within walking distance about 10-15 minutes. Room is very clean and bed is comfortable. Toilet was super clean and modern. Shower had strong pressure flow and nice hot water.

It was amazing. Such a lovely stay. Host was so friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and so nicely presented, and 2 minutes walk from the center. The car park was easy to access.

Die Lage in Dumfries ist ganz gut, das meiste ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Zimmer sauber, gut eingerichtet und ruhig. Frühstück ebenfalls ok.

Leider ist das Zimmer extrem klein für 2 Personen. Koffer können nicht richtig geöffnet werden, weil Stellfläche fehlt. Fensterausblick geht einen Meter zum hohen Holzzaun, ist damit nicht vorhanden.

Zimmer und Bad sehr sauber. Anders als bei unseren vorangehenden Übernachtungen eine Dusche mit Mischbatterie! Sehr gut auch die kostenlose Parkmöglichkeit direkt am Hotel. Wir haben nicht gefrühstückt, so dass ich dazu nichts sagen kann. Buchen würde ich das Hotel in jedem Fall wieder!

Lovely stay in ‘The Annexe’. Clean, quiet and great location. I arrived by car but note this B&B is within a 5 mins walk of the train station.

On day 2 all of the on-site parking was taken - I was able to park for free nearby (restricted hours of 6pm to 8am).

Very clean, well decorated, nicely furnished, lovely up to date bathroom, private entry that doesn’t necessitate going through main entrance to hotel. Very close to town centre. Walkable distance to restaurants, Burns’ houses, mausoleum etc

Advertised as a hotel but more like a Bed & Breakfast. That didn’t detract from a very pleasant stay, though.

Located very close to the railway station and only a few minutes walk from the centre of town. Our room was exceptionally clean, spacious and comfortable. We had to leave too early for breakfast but will happily stay here again.

Came up for a funeral so only stayed one night. Lovely hotel and excellent breakfast. It was a credit to Fiona the owner. Would certainly stay there again if in the area.
