Seamus was a very friendly host indeed. Cheerful and chatty. Invited us to a drink. Sorted us out an early breakfast so we could get to Newgrange by 8.50.

Bed a bit small for a couple. Although it had been pointed out to us by message that reception is closed for a certain time in the evening it was a bit of a bother.

Made very welcome from the start. Seamus is a great host and he has a lovely home. We were offered tea/coffee on arrival and that was served with cakes and fruit. Even when we arrived back after the concert we were offered tea/coffee at that time. Super kind and accommodating. We had a lovely stay and great food 😋

I can only say positive things about our stay with Seamus at Chez Se! Seamus was a delightful host and very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and filling and the rooms were cozy and comfortable. Seamus would bring coffee or tea each afternoon if you desired and he was very friendly and a delight to talk to. I would absolutely recommend Chez Se to anyone visiting the east and north parts of Ireland!!

There aren't many things that could be better. Chez Se surpassed all of our expectations. Only thing travelers and tourists should be aware of is it's not ideal if you are planning to spend the majority of your time in Dublin - we were NOT planning a lot of time in Dublin so the location was perfect for us, but just FYI going back and forth to Dublin each day may be a bit of a trip. This is NOTHING against the property - we knew this going in and only spent one day in Dublin. Everything else was perfect.

Our host, Seamus, was quite wonderful and made it an absolute pleasure to share his home and spend time with him.

Seamus is a wonderful host with so many interesting stories to tell. My husband and I truly enjoyed the warm welcome, the comfortable bed in a very clean room with ensuite bathroom, and the nice freshly cooked breakfast, with the best coffee I've had in Ireland. We had the chance to learn more about the Irish language, culture, and history, and because of this, we leave Ireland enriched. We would stay at Chez Sè again, when we'll visit this area again in the future. It is well located for Newgrange and other historical sites, as well as the coastal area, and is on the train line to both Dublin and Belfast.

There is nothing that we didn't like.

Séamus ist überaus gastfreundlich, hat uns direkt mit Kaffee, Tee und Biscuits willkommen geheissen und uns viel über die irische Kultur erzählt. Ich war der erste Gast mit Zöliakie bei ihm. Er hat sich direkt bei der nationalen Zöliakiegesellschaft erkundet, auf was er achten muss. Es hat alles wunderbar geklappt.

Das B&B liegt in einer ruhigen Wohngegend. Herr Seamus hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen. Zimmer war sehr sauber mit einem schönen Bad. Frühstück wurde morgens liebevoll und frisch zubereitet.

Séamus was incredibly personable and gave us wonderful recommendations for how to spend our bits of downtime on our trip. The breakfast was great and incredibly accommodating to us having to tweak plans before and during our stay. Overall staying here was a big part of the reason why we came to love our time in Drogheda.

The only thing we might suggest would be another thinner blanket for the bed, but overall our room was lovely.

Séamus is a personable and responsive host who welcomed us warmly in his home. We enjoyed chats around the dining table and the livingroom fire. Breakfast was copious and delicious. Beds are comfortable, property is easily accessible and clean. Location is near restaurants and tourist attractions.

Sehr interessante Gespräche mit dem Gastgeber über "Gott und die Welt". Wir haben vieles über die irische Kultur und Geschichte erfahren. Sehr gutes Frühstück, insgesamt angenehme Atmosphäre - sehr zu empfehlen!

Seamus was a great host and a nice guy to talk to and I enjoyed our chat last night. Has a great breakfast menu but unfortunately I had to leave before I got to eat anything. So apologies to him for that. Highly recommend his place

Honestly had the best stay away from home ever ,me and my partner couldn't say enough good about this stay ,Seamus the host was a gentleman,he made us feel so welcomed ,was like been at our grandparents house ,homely friendly clean and tidy ,,At breakfast he couldn't do enough, breakfast was superb,please book way chez se you won't be disappointed, honestly 10 out of 10

Nous sommes un couple de cyclotouristes qui réalisons un tour de l’Irlande à vélo. Nous sommes enchantés de notre étape chez Sé ! Une jolie halte dans un environnement de verdure et de calme. Tout était parfait… et par-dessus tout, la disponibilité et la grande gentillesse de notre hôte ! Sé nous a fait partager son savoir, nous a donné de bons conseils et nous a évité l’erreur de faire des kilomètres inutiles… (à vélo c’est précieux) Merci pour tout, Sé, et merci pour votre délicieuse omelette aux champignons du breakfast. Promis, je ne révélerai pas ici votre méthode secrète de confection ! 😂 En tout cas, si un jour nous revenons pour compléter nos visites, ce sera chez vous ! …👍

Warm and friendly

Séamus' Frühstück ist geradezu legendär :D Séamus selbst ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, möchte seine Gäste einen guten Service anbieten. Mit ihm kann man sich über fast alles unterhalten und seine Wahl der Sender beim abendlichen Fernsehen war hervorragend. Das Haus ist in einem grünen, ruhigen Wohngebiet, zu Fuß gelangt man aber in 10 Minuten bis eine halbe Stunde zu Takeaways, kleine Geschäfte, ein paar Kneipen, zum Bahnhof und sogar in die Stadt. Ein Bus (101) hält auch nicht weit weg und fährt in die Stadt oder nach Balbriggan, Swords und Dublin Airport. Abends war es sehr schön, raus aus der doch eher lauten Stadt zu kommen; wir haben sehr gut geschlafen.

Die Unterkunft ist ja eine B&B und kein Luxushotel, uns hat aber eigentlich alles gut gefallen.

Easy to locate, comfortable.

Bathroom was external to the bedroom.

The property was bright & clean. It was close to where we were doing our voluntary work - and in a nice area. We slept great. The host went to great rounds to ensure we had the food we’d like for breakfast and even pushed the boat out to try a dish a bit different from the usual spec. And it was delicious.

Unfortunately it didn’t have its name up so we had to go in to enquire if we were in the right place. Parking seemed a bit of an obstacle, with the host requiring the driver to drive very close to a kerb even though there was ample room without having to do that. While it was lovely & clean, there was only one chair in the double room. However, our host kindly allowed us to use the garden where we could chill out during sunset.

Seamus is a wonderful host, and Drogheda is a town worth visiting! The room was compact but met our needs and the bed was quite comfortable. Lovely home and the breakfast was fantastic. So much on offer. And great conversation with Seamus and the other guests. He could not have been more helpful, even recommending a lovely nearby restaurant.

We were on foot and the walk from the train with our luggage was a little further from town than we were hoping. Next morning we were able to store luggage at the station (but this is not always available) and walk around the town and museum quite freely.

The breakfast was excellent, with a very wide choice, including cooked, cereals including porridge (a huge bowl!), white or wholemeal toast. Also soda bread, jam, muffins (plain or blueberry) - all home made by Seamus. Hospitality was second to none. Seamus couldn't do enough for us, including information, booking a taxi etc. Room had two double wardrobes with hangers, and dressing gowns provided. The location in Bryanstown is residential and very quiet, with quick bus or taxi transport into the centre of Drogheda.

This has got to be one of the best B & Bs ever. We have never felt so at home. Seamus is the perfect host. Amazing breakfasts. We were so looked after - it was like a big hug, from start to finish. In terms of practicalities, its a 5 minute drive/ 40 minute walk to Drogheda centre. Its also perfect for the Boyne Valley and the coast down to Dublin. The location is easy to find and wonderfully peaceful. An OK pub nearby.

An extra chair in the bedroom would have been perfect We find this is a problem with most B&Bs - a double bedroom should have seating for both guests (settee or 2 chairs) so nobody has to sit on the bed. .

It is located in a quiet residential area, within walking distance of the historical city of Drogheda with beautiful sights, shopping, various restaurants. My room was comfortable and clean. Nicely decorated. The host was a wonderful cook (breakfast was great), intriguing conversationalist, and very helpful in getting around the area. He looked up bus routes to help me get to the nearby harp festival. As with BnB, it was fun to meet other travelers as well.

It was our second stay here (first time last year). Owner is very welcoming. Clean room with shower. For breakfast you can choose from menu night before. Restaurant is nearby (about 10mins walking). This accomodation is perfect for those who like to talk to local people. Go raibh maith agat Séamus!

We enjoyed old-fashioned, warm hospitality at this clean, comfortable and well-run B&B. A top-class breakfast - one to put far more expensive hotels to shame - to set us up for the day and a welcoming cuppa with good conversation on our return in the evening to help us wind down made this one of our best holidays. It's a 5-min walk to the bus stop, where you can get a D4 or D5 to Drogheda town centre or bus station (takes about 5 min) or the bus to Dublin (1 hour) and a 10-min walk to the train station. There's a pub and shop by the bus stop.
