Mary & Chris sind sehr nette und zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Unser Aufenthalt in der Rugged Glen Accommodation hat uns sehr gefallen und das Frühstück war ausserordentlich gut! Glengarriff ist ein guter Ausgangsort um die umliegende Gegend zu erkunden.

Most of all, we enjoyed Chris and Mary's warmhearted hospitality. The breakfast was excellent. Mary provided great help by reserving tables for dinner at two wonderful but very different hotels in Glengarriff. They supported our plan to drive along the coastline (The Atlantic Way). It is superb compared to Dingle (2nd) and Ring of Kerry (3rd). Thank you, Chris and Mary, for a memorable personal experience with both of you. Chris und Mary waren tolle Gastgeberinnen! Haben uns herzlich willkommen geheißen und tolle Tipps gegeben. Nebenan ist ein einfacher aber guter Pub auf dem Campingplatz, um etwas zu essen oder trinken, wenn man keine Lust mehr hat, weit zu fahren. Das Frühstück war liebevoll zubereitet und sehr köstlich.

Mary and Chris are truly lovely and warm-hearted hosts, very helpful, and it was a pleasure to meet and talk to them. The room had everything you could need. Chris is a professional chef and prepared a wonderful breakfast for us. Highly recommended.

The bedroom with large bed was very nice. The owners very hospitable.

The off road out of town location was a bit hard to find.

We enjoyed our stay with Mary and Chris who were very friendly and gave us lots of information about the area. We didn’t have time to stay for the breakfast so they made us scones to take away with us which were delicious. Lovely people and great spot ☺️

The setting was. Beautiful... And , can walk into the village in 25/30 minutes. Lovely welcome from the hosts.. a home away from home. Bedroom was fantastic.. with a huge king-size bed

Eine sehr freundliche Gastgeberin hat uns empfangen und wir haben das gemütliche Zimmer und das bequeme Bett nach einem langen Ausflug sehr geschätzt. Das Frühstück war liebevoll angerichtet. Wir haben nichts vermisst.

Host was brilliant, had an hour chat with him about nearly everything the first night, called me, sent me directions, sent me their menu in advance.

Glengarriff is an excellent base for exploring the area, and this B&B is scenic but still reasonably close to the main road. The hosts are SUPER nice, the breakfast was incredibly tasty (bring cash!), and the bed was really comfortable.

I could hear a fair amount of noise throughout the property, and there was mold all over the ceilings and windows. I feel bad criticising the owners, because they're clearly really passionate about what they do, and I would for sure stay here again if I'm ever in the area.

Chris and Mary were wonderful hosts, Communication was great and the instructions on how to enter the property were really clear. A Comfy room, in a lovely and peaceful environment. Also we got some great recommendations for the rest of our trip which was so useful!

Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, das Zimmer war sehr gut ausgestattet und das Bett war schön groß und sehr bequem. Nachts ist es absolut ruhig, man ist eben mitten in der Natur. Chris hat uns morgens ein tolles Frühstück zubereitet und hat geduldig all unsere Fragen zu den Highlights in der Umgebung beantwortet und hatte tolle Geheimtipps.

Sehr gemütliche Unterkunft, die Gastgeber sind sehr nett, hilfsbereit und geben gerne Tipps für die Reise. Das Frühstück war liebevoll vorbereitet und sehr lecker. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

Sehr nettes und sauberes B&B mit sehr angenehmen Gastgebern und tollem Frühstück! Unbedingt Frühstück bestellen und sich von der Gastgeberin Mary Tipps für Ausflüge geben lassen!

Sehr ruhige Lage und gleichzeitig in der Nähe von Glengarriff mit verschiedenen Pubs, Restaurants und Cafés. Das Frühstück war sehr liebevoll zubereitet und sehr lecker! Es lohnt sich in jedem Fall, das Frühstück dazuzubuchen! Besonders die Pancakes sind sehr zu empfehlen.

Ich habe keine Verbesserungswünsche.

Ground floor window with no net curtain exposed you to other guests passing by. Some mould on the window frames of window. Bare feet to the vinyl floor at the bedside. No separate sheet and duvet cover needs an upgrade.

It’s about 2 km outside the town of Glengarriff so it too far to walk into town for dinner. (We had bikes and rode).

The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfortable and warm, the shower was lovely and powerful with nice hot water. It was very nice to have the tea and coffee making facilities also.

Excellent, warm and welcoming hosts, really friendly, generous, shared lots of local knowledge. The rooms are gorgeous and extremely comfortable, lots of attention to detail. Taxi service offered to the local village a short distance away. And I have to say the best breakfast and the best sleep we had on our trip!

Chris and Mary went above and beyond. Dropping us in and put for a wedding and a day 2 to Glengariff. Even offered to take a great photo of us before the wedding. Bed was Incredibly comfortable and the room was very cosy.

Chris and Mary were very friendly and accommodating hosts. The room had a very large and comfortable bed and the room was spotless. We forewent the breakfast offered to try local spots but always had the option and they always offered anything we might need which I very much appreciated. For those attending events in the nearby Eccles hotel as we did; Chris collected us and communicated most promptly and effectively. West Cork hospitality at its finest!

I loved my stay at the Rugged Glen. The room was extra cosy and spacious. Breakfast was sensational. The hosts are great and they gave us super tips to visit marvellous places we had no idea they existed. We did not have a car and the Walk from the village was really long and on a very busy road. If you go by car it should be no issue, but I would not recommend it if you don’t. However, Chris drove us for free on the day of our departure. The bathroom was not the most modern, but all was clear and functioning. There is also a fridge in the room.

I had the pleasure of staying at this charming place for one night, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience. From the moment we arrived, the couple who hosted us were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Their hospitality was truly exceptional. The room was cozy and well-appointed, providing a perfect retreat for the night. In the morning, we had an amazing breakfast that exceeded all expectations—everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. We left feeling refreshed and taken care of, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.
