Ty Newydd B&B

Depuis la chambre, la vue est particulièrement agréable donnant à la fois sur le petit canal et la campagne environnante. Le lieu est très calme et reposant après une journée à sillonner la région; journée qui démarre fort bien avec un excellent petit déjeuner typiquement britannique à la carte. Les hôtes sont par ailleurs très accueillants.

Such an amazing place to stay. Beautiful and perfect location. Sid was warm, friendly, considerate and helpful, he made us feel really welcome and looked after everything we needed with great advice on walks and where to eat.

It was an exceptionally well presented property in a beautiful location. The hosts were delightful and friendly. We had the room with Mountain View’s and it was sublime. Peaceful and serene. We will definitely be back again. The breakfast was spot on. We can not rate this highly enough!

We chose to stay at Ty Newydd for a small family get together (two from Australia) and we all loved it. The position is interesting being by the Brecon Canal and the magnificent scenery speaks for itself. The rooms are beautifully presented and the breakfast choice superb. We were very well looked after and sorry to leave such a special place.

My husband and I absolutely loved it! Really couldn't fault anything - our room was very clean and comfortable, lovely breakfast and perfect location to visit all attractions! Definitely highly recommended!

Wir waren zu zweit für 4 Tage in diesem B&B und hatten das Zimmer 3 (Dachgeschoss). Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und konnten die Ruhe vor Ort sehr genießen. Das Zimmer und das gesamte B&B waren sehr sauber und alles wirkte sehr aufgeräumt. Interieur und Dekoration wirkten sehr stimmig zum Gesamtkonzept des B&Bs. Vor Ort gibt es hauseigene Parkplätze nur wenige Meter vom Eingang entfernt. Die Unterkunft stellt einen separaten Raum zum Trocknen von nasser Wanderkleidung und Schuhen zur Verfügung. Das Frühstück beginnt zwischen 8/9 Uhr und die täglich vorab getroffene Auswahl wird frisch zubereitet und an den Tisch gebracht. Zusätzlich steht aber auch Müsli und eine Auswahl an süßen Aufstriche zur Verfügung. Ein zentraler Gäste-Kühlschrank steht ebenso zur Verfügung. Wir hatten das vegane Welsh Breakfast, welches sehr lecker war. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Unterkunft liegt ca. 10 Autominuten von Brecon entfernt, das einige Supermärkte und Restaurants besitzt. Nach Hay-on-Wye sind es auch nur etwa 30 min, zum Pen-Y-Fan etwa 20 min. Die Unterkunft ist direkt an einem Kanal gelegen, an dem man auch spazieren kann. An den Frühstücksraum schließt ein Wintergarten sowie ein Garten an. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut ausgestattet und das Bett sehr bequem. Wir können dieses B&B nur wärmstens empfehlen.

The owners were super friendly and helpful. Very well appointed bedrooms with some lovely touches. The bed was very comfortable and luxurious and the bath was a treat. Great facilities- I especially appreciated the drying room and guest fridge. The conservatory was v comfortable as a chill out space with lovely views over the camel and mountains. Breakfast was great- lots of choice well cooked and plentiful- set me up well for a hard days hiking. They were very helpful with tips for the best walks and knowledgeable about most of the main trails. The location is very quiet and peaceful but close to some lovely pubs and the town of Brecon. I can recommend the Gurkha corner Nepalese restaurant in Brecon for authentic Nepalese food.

Only small thing was not enough hot water for showers on Saturday evening. OK in the morning though.

Das Zimmer befand sich in einem alten Landhaus/Anwesen, das liebevoll renoviert ist und einen ganz besonderen Charme ausstrahlt. Das Anwesen liegt im Grünen neben einem Kanal und einer Marina, an der Hausboote anlegen. Alles sehr idyllisch mit tollem Blick ins Grüne. Sid und Rachel als Vermieter waren prima und sehr zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und konnte individuell bestellt werden.

It was an amazing 3 nights at Ty Newydd, we actually planned on 2 nights, booked another night because we enjoyed it so much. Located beautifully with stunning views on the hills surrounding it. Excellent breakfast cooked by the very friendly owners of the place. It was amazing and would absolutely recommend this place to everyone planning a trip to this area.

Lovely property, very quite, stunning area, beautiful views. The B&B was tastefully decorated, had everything we needed, even a drying room for our drenched clothes. Very comfy bed and bedding, tasty breakfast. Lots of stairs yes, but worth it for a lovely attic room. Would definitely recommend to friends and family

We had a great stay at Ty Newydd. The place is charming, comfortable and very quiet. The surroundings are so pretty, with a view on the mountains and a little canal passing by, which allows for nice walks. It's also close to beautiful hikes in the Brecon Beacons. Sid was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend to anyone considering a holiday in the area.

Ty Newydd B&B is located amid stunning scenery. The hosts, Sid & Rachel, were very accommodating, ensuring a smooth and pleasant stay for my mother & me. The accommodation maintains the traditional look of a B&B with modern amenities & refreshing decor, which made for a lovely stay. We were both pleasantly surprised by our short stay and would definitely choose to stay there again should we ever return to the area.

A bit far from facilities eg pubs,shops but footpath was very accessible and took us to a lovely pub about 30 minutes walk

Das 'Full Welsh Breakfast' war fantastisch. Besser als erwartet war die idyllische Lage am Kanal und der schöne Wanderweg am Kanal entlang zum nächsten Pub. Sehr gut waren auch die Sitzgelegenheiten im und vor dem Wintergarten.

Mit schweren Koffern gelangt man nur mühsam über die enge Treppe zu den schönen Zimmern im Dachgeschoss. Tipp: Die vom Vermieter angebotene Hilfe annehmen ;-)

Lovely location right on the canal. We had room 4 at the top of 2 steep spiral staircases but worth it for the views. The large bedroom with exposed beams was very well equipped. A central bedroom light plus smaller side lights, very comfortable beds, bag in room for recycling, plenty of electricity sockets in room including by the bed. Good WiFi, coat hangers, kettle, tea and coffee, biscuits, 2 chairs to relax on in the bedroom, tv very easy to operate compared to some other BandB’s we have stayed in recently! Good information pack with lots of info on places to visit, places to eat. Big bathroom, large fluffy towels. Very good breakfast with lots of choices. Breakfast tables had maps of local walks on them under glass. There were walking maps to borrow during the stay. Free parking. Sid and Rachel very approachable and helpful. A quiet 30 minute walk along the canal to the Royal Oak pub – excellent food, well priced and very friendly. 4 holiday cottages on site and a 5 pitch camping/caravan site. Cambrian cruisers boat hire also nearby, all family operated with obvious pride in their property.

Beautiful location, it's just a shame the weather didn't allow me to explore it more! Comfy room, friendly host and excellent breakfast. It was also an easy drive to the Hay festival allowing me to come back and relax between events in the morning and evening.
