Noisy road nearby, however it went quiet fairly early in the evening and didn't start too early. However we visited midweek and it may be busier at weekends.

The room was fine, very clean and good value. The bar is busy but it was quiet when I needed to sleep. Excellent Chinese restaurant on the same site.

Great rooms, clean and well thought out

The first pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord was good. The second was end of barrel and the bar staff served it anyway, and charged us for it on our food bill despite sending it back. Waiter just said "No, it's fine". I took a sip. It was weird, yeasty. He said he'd fetch another. Ten minutes later he returned and said "the barrel's gone".

We did not enjoy our stay there, and we eventually received a full refund. On arrival staff members seemed very busy and stressed. We felt processed rather than welcomed. The room is described on booking.com as a Queen Room with a queen-sized bed. We got a small room with double bed. The room (5) was far too warm, but there was a huge loud fan blowing outside the window. We had to sleep in very hot room with window closed. TV not working. We ate in the restaurant, served by two abrupt, nonchalant staff members. Four very loud men were at table next to us, disrupting everyone in the room. Nothing done by staff. Food was truly dreadful. Avoid the Steak & Ale Pie and Jerk Chicken Kebab. Nobody came to ask if everything was OK. At bedtime our room was still stiflingly hot but we couldn’t sleep with the fan outside the open window. I got dressed and went down to complain. Staff couldn’t care less. Told me to take it up with booking.com. I said this solves nothing tonight, but she didn’t care at all. Next day back home, I complained to booking.com and Dresser’s Arms. This began a protracted 17-day chase which eventually led to me being refunded for the room and the food. After refunding us the manager emailed me and said "You are not welcome back at any point" which is frankly bizarre and certainly very unpleasant, considering that we did absolutely nothing wrong and complained politely. Don't worry, we have absolutely no intention of coming back.

Setting was great. The manager of the adjoining pub was so friendly and warm when we ate there the night we stayed at the hotel. The room was perfect for what we needed, although no real frills.

There’s nothing not to like about it. The only thing I would change is swapping the dressing table around with the tea making facilities in room 8 to give more room to get to the shower room.

The property is next to the pub and the security, atmosphere, staff, community and food were all excellent, with convenient and free parking. The room was spacious, bed comfy and shower excellent - facilities generally very good with big TV, fans, heaters etc. The dressing room area had space but maybe needs a few coat hangers and/or drawers for clothes. Both breakfast and dinner were superb despite a busy period. We would definitely go back...

The only minor issue was that the 'pls make up my room' door hanger and property description gave an expectation of daily housekeeping service but nothing for 3 nights so no clearing away glasses/cups or top-up of biscuits/tea/coffee etc. Not end of world as there were spare towels and we dropped cups back to the pub but maybe not as some may expect. Our value only impacted as the £120/night price reflected The Open Golf weekend but the usual £85-95/night is excellent value...

Lovely clean room. Really nice pub that serves delicious food plus a Chinese restaurant above it & a pizza van out on the green (this may only be on Fridays). Dog friendly & great location for walks along the canal. Staff were really friendly. We both had the big English breakfast which was £15 each with unlimited cups of tea & coffee plus fruit juice. Breakfast served 9.30 - 11am at weekends.

We were in a room at the front and as it was a summers night & there were people sat at the tables outside. We had to keep the windows open as it was very warm so you could hear the chatter etc from outside. It didn't really bother us but could be an issue for others.

Great location in a country setting. Pub downstairs had very good food. Easy access to highways. Comfortable beds.

Popularity of the pub made us wait to get a parking spot one evening. Only a few minutes, not a big deal.

Great location for us to visit relatives. Clean and tidy, nice decor.

The 10am check out time is too early, also our booking included a king bed. None of the three rooms we had booked contained a king size bed. 5 people arrived for breakfast on Sunday at 10:50am. Breakfast served until 11am but we were turned away for being too late.

The room was clean, comfortable and spacious with an excellent ensuite. The adjoining pub serves excellent food. Ample parking and excellent staff.

Clean, tidy room with great shower. Despite being near the road and the pub next door it was quiet (we were there on a week night). Car park across the road has cameras which was good. We were allowed to check out a little later to let us go for breakfast at Village Tearoom.

Not that I didn’t like it but the check in process means you take your stuff into the pub to get the key and then go back to the rooms to let yourself in. There are some steps and it was a bit of a mission for me. Recommend leave your stuff in the car, check in and then pick up your luggage and go to the room.

Care is needed when leaving via the front door of the property as the steps are quite steep.

Didn't bother us, but may others, if the windows are open you can hear the road noise. Its not mega busy, but can get a bit loud/fast cars every now and then. We did not mind at all and fell to sleep very quickly.

The room was done ok, but the window was frosted and the upper window was to high to reach to open, but you would not want to open it due to excessive noise from 5 to six extraction fans. I didn’t sleep well.. no mention of this in the room description.

Lovely place, room was comfortable and clean and the food in the restaurant was exceptional.

This isn’t the fault of the establishment but I knocked it down by one star because I’m afraid there were some really noisy guests that woke us up at around 1230am, talking really loud, banging doors and drawers shut for around 15 to 20 minutes. It then went quit but I assume the same guest came back around 2am and did the same thing. It spoiled our sleep unfortunately especially as we had to be up and away early.

Location. The ambience of the pub. The quality of food is exceptional.

Lovley place to stay, room was very clean, beds we're comfortable and the location was ideal. Plenty of options for food with the pub menu as well as a Chinese above the pub. On a friday evening a local pizza trailer is also there giving you a third opinion. Overall, it was a great stay.

Lovely, vibrant & busy pub in a quaint village. The staff, from the wonderful team welcome you & cover the bar to the amazing lady who deals with the rooms - l salute you all!!! This is why l keep coming back to this place

Unfortunately the Dresser Arms do not provide breakfast but that did not matter. The staff are so friendly & helpful, the beer & the food are out of this world. The room was spotless, loads of towels. The shower was great. The location is excellent as here is no noise from outside. Would strongly recommend this accomodation.

Nothing, everything the Dresser Arms offers is what I like.

It was very nicely positioned. The area has lots to do and the pub is very nice.

The real only let down was the room next door. I mentioned to the bar staff that they were up from 3am-10am all night keeping us completely awake with load music and in appropriate noises. However I got given the managers number in case it happened the following night if the same couple were staying next door. Fortunately I didn’t have to use the number but it was just a shame. This isn’t a reflection on the accommodation or the staff as it was the people next door, but it was just a shame this was the case as it did take out 1 or the 3 nights we stayed. I would stay again but I would ask for a room furthest away or just next to a nice couple!

The staff were exceptional, friendly and quick to answer any questions.

The water flow to the shower was inadequate. The bed I personally found way too soft and gave me backache. Finally the steps outside the property were too small and verging on dangerous especially as one of our party had serious but temporary mobility issues.

The room was quiet, very comfortable and clean with tea and coffee making facilities provided.

Not much space to hang clothes (no wardrobe area as such).

The pub connected to the property is amazing. It's very popular, so I would recommend booking a table. Breakfast is served here, from 9:30-11am on weekends, which seemed a little late to me.

The room had everything we needed. It was in a separate building adjoining the pub. The bed was comfortable & the room spotlessly clean. We ate in the pub restaurant & the meal was lovely. An all round good nights stay. 🙂

Breakfast was excellent. Delicious sausages. Eggs benedict cooked to perfection. Large comfortable bed. Immaculate housekeeping. Very friendly staff. Busy food pub would recommend booking a table in advance. Food is all home made, not overpriced, delicious and generous portions! Would stay again 😀

It's not a negative, only an observation. Pub is located next to a busy through road. Large carpark directly opposite for customers. If you are a light sleeper this may be a problem. I wear ear plugs to sleep and with them in I slept great and didn't hear the traffic at all.

Room 6 facing back of building cold on arrival 11th January! but turned up the rad took a while to warm up and it went off late pm came back on 7 am so it we cold most of the night ..and as I said its January .... Only serve breakfast sat sun and Mon bankhols.. Shower hose full of black mold only take a spray of bleach ..to keep it clean Overhead light not very bright ...again dark afternoons in January
