Schönes Zimmer, gutes Frühstück, nette Menschen, toller Ausblick vom Pool auf das Tal

Beautiful location with scenic views. Emilia (mother) and Bruno (son) were lovely and extremely helpful. Breakfast was an amazing continental spread enjoyed over a beautiful valley view in the morning light. The wine experience was also fantastic.

Doors in room were a bit strange - no outside handle on balcony door, bathroom door in locked position and unable to be shut.

Pool. Room modern and cool. Breakfast decent but not exceptional.

Sterile feeling from moment we checked in. Staff not friendly, no sense we were in a vineyard, no explanations, no tours available, perfunctory interaction. Felt like a Travelodge. Go for a more traditional Quinta if you want the true experience. No food available either.

Die Unterkunft liegt etwas oberhalb von Pinhao und bietet deshalb einen tollen Blick auf einen kleinen Fluss, der ein paar Meter weiter in den Douro mündet und auf die kleine Steinbrücke. Beides sieht man sowohl vom Balkon als auch durchs Panoramafenster beim Frühstück. Traumhaft. Unser Zimmer 3 war geräumig, modern und trotzdem gemütlich eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Ein weiteres Highlight ist der Pool oberhalb des Hauses. Eine kleine Oase. Das Frühstück war klein, aber fein und für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei - Haferflocken, Joghurt, Obst, Käse und Wurst sowie süße Teilchen und alles sehr appetitlich angerichtet. Wir hatten außerdem eine Weinverkostung gebucht. Schon der Weg durch die Weinberge war sehr schön, aber auch der Showroom und die Präsentation der Weine haben uns gut gefallen. Die Vermieter sind sehr angenehm und freundlich. In Pinhao selbst ist man innerhalb von 10 Minuten zu Fuß.

Nothing not to like

Amabilité des propriétaires qui nous ont permis de laisser les bagages avant le check in et qui nous ont préparé un petit déjeuner à emporter car nous quittions tôt.

L'accès à pied depuis le centre est assez dangereux. Il n'y a plus aucun trottoir le long de cette route sinueuse à partir du pont, soit environ 300 mètres..

Was clean and comfortable The location was perfect, very useful if arriving in Pinhao by train which is about a ten minute walk away. Breakfast was good

Didn't really have much explanation on check in or the following morning. Acts more like an Airbnb with 4 apartments with staff only present on check in and at breakfast I am luckily young and fit enough, but I suspect for anyone who is not then access to the pool can be a bit of a challenge. Steps on the footpath to the pool are needed for the first few meters. No shampoo/conditioner provided.

Bruno, our host, was really kind and the place is perfect.

The property advertised a swimming pool, which is the main reason we booked. But it was on top of the hill behind the house, accessed by a steep rocky track, quite unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems. There's a rope to hang on to, but I missed it and fell off.

La dame qui gère la maison est tres gentille. C'est une jolie petite batisse contenant 4 chambres au RDC. Nous avions la chambre 4, tres spacieuse, tres agréable, avec une petite terrasse et 2 fauteuils hyper confortables que nous avons kiffé. Il y a une toute petite piscine au dessus de la maison, dans un cadre magnifique. Petit déjeuner frugal mais correct. Cet endroit est à 10 minutes a pied du centre du village dans lequel il y a plusieurs restaurants.

Peut etre améliorer un peu le petit déjeuner en proposant un peu plus de choix. Maison a coté de la route, mais ca le fait.

Tolle Lage mit Sicht auf den Douro vor allem vom Pool oberhalb des Hotels.

Frühstück entspricht eher einer Jugendherberge und da bekommt man mit Sicherheit mehr frische Produkte.

Struttura in un punto strategico per soggiornare a Pinhão. Comfort, relax, ottima colazione e soprattutto ottima la vista dalla piscina.

Wonderful place - just idealic a couple of minutes away from the centre of Pinhao. The lady welcoming us and who was present at breakfast was incredibly nice. Our room was very spacious with a balcony overlooking the main valley, and the AC in the middle of a very hot July was very welcome. You can walk to and from Pinhao very easily, although carefully as the last 2 or 3 min are along a main road. If you have luggages and no car, it is probably easiest to take a taxi. The pool while small is an excellent addition to refresh yourself a bit in the heat and the view from there are just gorgeous. The communication with the owner / staff ahead and during the stay through booking.com was excellent. Thanks again for a wonderful stay - we will likely come back

Dåligt WI-fi

Sehr ansprechende saubere Zimmer mit Terrasse. Zum schönen Pool mit herrlichem Blick auf den Douro führt ein kurzer steiler Weg. Parkplatz vor dem Haus. Frühstück war ok. Guter Kuchen. Nettes Personal.

Frühstück hätte abwechslungsreicher sein können, je 1 Sorte Käse und Wurst, täglich gleich, Baguettebrot, Joghurt, Cornflakes, Melone. Weintasting war leider ausgebucht, hätten wir gern vorher gewusst, dass es nicht spontan buchbar ist. Pinhao selbst ist weniger sehenswert, aber die Lage ist toll.

Wij hadden een erg ruime kamer en een heerlijk terras. Het zwembad was een verrassing met dat mooie uitzicht. Het was er heerlijk rustig en vlakbij het dorp. De wijntoer met proeverij op hun eigen wijnboerderij is een aanrader

The breakfast was great, and included in the price. The vineyard tour with Bruno was fantastic. The location/view was stunning and the room was perfectly clean and comfortable.

THe apartment is beautiful. Stylishly designed and very comfortable. The Pool was refreshing and the breakfast was great.

Nous avons tout aimé! La chambre était très propre et spacieuse. Le balcon était confortable et offrait une vue exceptionnelle. Le coin piscine était parfait. Le déjeuner était très bon et on nous a même fourni un pique-nique pour notre départ hâtif. Nous avions réservé une visite du vignoble et Bruno a été un hôte très généreux. Il nous a partagé sa passion avec amour. Que de beaux moments!

The place is modern and has good location

The smell in the room was very strong and many mosquitoes entered when opening y he door. The pillows were not good and the bed very small. The access to the pool quite hard. Breakfast was to basic for the price in general. Hardly had any sleep.

The staff were amazing, the lady at reception was so lovely.

The view from breakfast was beautiful. The breakfast was good. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Staff gave good advice about local attractions.

The welcome was a bit off which set the tone for the stay. We arrived earlier than we thought (but well after check in) and the lady told us off many times. The room was okay but nothing special. The balcony was smaller than it looked in the photos, with little privacy between rooms. The pool was much smaller than it looked in the photos and the decking around it needed some maintenance. The pool was hard to get to, especially walking down. It was tricky to get a bottle of wine to drink. If it was a bit cheaper it would have been fine but it was quite expensive for what it was, especially compared to other hotels in the area.

De locatie was dichtbij Pinhäo. Lopend is het prima te doen. Het zwembad had een mooi uitzicht en de kamer heeft een mooi balkon met prima stoelen. De airconditioning was ook prettig. Als je op tijd bij het ontbijt bent heb je een goed plekje bij het raam met een mooi uitzicht over de Douro

Om het zwembad te bereiken moest je een steile helling beklimmen,met touwen. Niet voor iedereen haalbaar. Het bed was voor ons te smal. De accommodatie licht aan de voorkant langs een weg. Niet erg druk in principe, maar wel wat geluid ervan.

Schone kamer en goede bedden

Ontvangst was kort en to the point. Accommodatie is mooi maar sfeerloos. Geen koffie en theevoorzieningen of uberhaupt voorzieningen. Alleen slapen. Geen tv dat vond ik geen punt.

Am besten hat mir die Lage des Pools gefallen, welche einzigartig ist. Die Lage der Unterkunft war für mich ok, die Nähe zur Strasse hat mich nicht gestört.

Die Frau die uns empfangen hat war eher kühl. Da haben wir in anderen Unterkünften in Galizien und Portugal viel mehr Herzlichkeit erlebt. Insgesamt fand ich Preis-/Leistung für Portugal zu teuer.

sehr schmales Bett für normal gewachsene Mitteleuropäer. Dern Pool erreicht man nur über einen steilen Pfad und es gibt nur zwei Sonnenschirme (mit je zwei Liegen) - kann bei 4 Zimmern etwas kompliziert werden

Frühstück sehr gut .Gemüse gibt es selten in Portugal.Keine Tomaten,Gurken u.s.w

Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß, mit kleinem Balkon. Das Haus steht am Rand der Weinberge, in 10-15 min ist man fußläufig im Zentrum von Pinhao.

Der Pool war etwas schwierig zu erreichen, man muss einen steilen kleinen Abhang hochlaufen/klettern. Außerdem gibt es leider zu wenige Liegen für die Anzahl der Gäste. Das Frühstück war sehr simpel gehalten und von durchschnittlicher Qualität. Der Check in funktionierte über WhatsApp, da das Personal an diesem Tag frei hatte. Dadurch haben uns leider wesentliche Informationen zur Unterkunft gefehlt.

Ligging

Vrij basic. Ik had gedacht op een quinta te logeren maar het was slechts een aparte woning. Geen persoonlijke ontvangst.

De locatie was prachtig, en je liep zo Pinhão in, wat een erg leuk en charmant stadje is met goede restaurants (wij hebben erg goed gegeten bij O'Porco - Wine & Tapas Bar en The Bridge 1870). Op de dag van vertrek hebben we door Bruno nog een mooie wijnproeverij bij Dois Lagares kunnen doen. Absoluut een aanrader! En de wijnen zijn heerlijk. De kamer was erg schoon en fijn, prettig ruim balkon met prachtig uitzicht. Enige tip is een wc rol houder in de badkamer en in de kamer zelf iets van een (pas)spiegel. Verder was het ontbijt prima verzorgd. Instructies bij aankomst waren erg duidelijk en personeel was zeer vriendelijk. Het zwembad was zeer welkom en qua ligging zo tussen de wijnranken heel mooi met wederom een prachtig uitzicht. Het pad ernaartoe is was wel avontuurlijk te noemen.

Der Frühstücksraum war bei der normalen Besetzung zu klein. Stau am Buffet. Im großen und ganzen war es echt ok.

Die Unterkunft liegt direkt an der Straße, die sehr laut ist. Das Bett ist definitiv zu schmal, zu kurz und zu hart.

This place is amazing, we stayed in room 4. Blown away with how nice and comfortable the place is. The location is outstanding and probable one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed at.

There’s nothing that we did not like.

Stien til poolen er lidt primitiv (og ikke for gangbesværede), men intet problem for os

Das Winetasting mit Bruno war hervorragend. Er gat alle Fragen beantwortet und uns viel erzählt. Das Frühstück in der Unterkunft war ausreichend und lecker. Gefallen hat uns die Lage, wir konnten zu Fuß in den Ort und zu Restaurant The Bridge gehen. Der Pool war zur Abkühlung toll. Gerne wieder.

Hezký designový pokoj s překvapivě úzkými postelemi. Hezký výhled na řeku a údolí, ale ubytování je přímo u silnice, takže jsou slyšet auta. Očekávala jsem více.

Emilia was a warm and welcoming host. We really enjoyed getting to know her, although we struggled with each other's languages. The facility appeared new, the bed was comfortable, and the shower hot. Be sure to book a wine and olive oil tasting with her son Bruno. The pool was a bonus and had the best view of Pinhao and the Duoro Valley. It was an easy walk into town for dinner. I recommend The Bridge restaurant.

We loved our 4 night stay at Dois Lagares House. The location in the Douro Valley is absolutely beautiful and the house is lovely too. Our room was really spacious, clean and comfortable and plenty of room to unpack clothes. Loved sitting out on the little terrace in the morning just listening to all the birds and looking at the beautiful view down to the river. The view is even better from up at the swimming pool. The family were so welcoming and helpful, from check in to breakfasts to the fantastic wine tour and tasting at the family winery which we would highly recommend. There are a few restaurants within walking distance too so we didn't have any problem getting meals in the evenings.

Das Gästehaus wird von der Familie selbst geführt, und das merkt man auch! Der Kontakt mit Bruno im Vorfeld über die Anreise, das Einchecken etc hat wunderbar funktioniert. Beim einchecken trifft man dann auf seine Mutter, die sehr herzlich ist und alles zeigt. Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich, sauber und auch hell. Dass das Gästehaus direkt an der Straße ist, ist nicht schlimm, da nicht viele Autos fahren. Nachts schon gar nicht. Die Lage ist gut, sodass man zu Fuß in das Zentrum von Pinhao laufen kann. Wir sind die Strecke bei großer Hitze mit schweren Rucksäcken ohne Probleme gelaufen. Das Frühstück ist klein aber fein. Es gibt alles was man braucht. Alles ist von bester Qualität und liebevoll angerichtet. Sowohl von der Unterkunft als auch vom Pool hat man einen wahnsinnig schönen Blick auf die Gegend. Besonderes Highlight ist die Führung von Bruno in seinen Weinbergen und die Weinprobe. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Oberhalb des Gästehauses befindet sich ein Pool. Dieser war zwar bereits befüllt (wir waren im Mai dort), er war aber leider etwas verdreckt, da er zwischen Olivenbäumen und Weinreben steht. Für uns war dies allerdings nicht schlimm, da wir sowieso nicht baden wollten.

It is very basic. Also next to a road, which you dont see on the pictures. Also not a social place. You have a quick check-in get the codes of the doors and that is it. Also lacking some simple coffee or tea options in the room. Also no feeling of the being at a winery at all.

Small bed, hard mattress (your rear actually gets sore if you sit on it), thin blanket and VERY thin walls (can hear the neighbour snore) and to top it off ; no tv. Hard to get out of property and the view from the bedroom is a cemetery. Avoid, avoid, find somewhere else to stay

Gorgeous views, comfortable stay, good breakfast. If you book a wine tour, there’s a cute private short path from the inn to the winery. A very short walk from the inn into town/ the train station.

Hotel com boa localização, quarto com relativo conforto. Proprietária do Hotel muito simpática e atenciosa. Destaco o atendimento cordial .

Sugiro considerar o custo benefício , valor da diária acima de outros hotéis na região e que possuem melhor estrutura. Café da manhã poderia ser um pouco melhor , o ponto negativo cama de casal muito pequena para quem medir mais de 1.70 de altura . A pia do banheiro está mal posicionada pois ao acionar a torneira molha o chão do banheiro.

Excellent acommodation, attentive hosts

Lovely, small winery/guesthouse just past the edge of Pinhāo, overlooking the river and the old bridge. If you're a walker, it's walking distance to everything in Pinhāo: wineries, restaurants, the train station, and the waterfront. Very friendly and helpful staff- she let us check in a bit early. The rooms were simple but airy, with a balcony and seating facing the river. The refrigerator is shared, with each of the 5 guestrooms having their own shelf. Breakfast was included, in a breakfast room with a view of the river.

Petit-déjeuner pas avant 8 h 30 c'est beaucoup trop tard, nous avons du insister fortement pour pouvoir déjeuner à 8 h 15. Il faut ressortir pour dîner le soir, nous aurions apprécié pouvoir manger notre nourriture dans la salle mais c'est interdit.

The rooms and facilities were excellent! The matriarch was so kind and friendly! She went to great lengths to stay in contact with me before we arrived and was generous with her time. And she personally provided the lovely breakfast! We had arranged for the Wine Experience for the afternoon we arrived. I had had difficulty with my payment when I was trying to reserve it months ago. Bruno (one of the 2 sons who gave us the amazing tour and co-operates the vineyard with his brother, wife, and mother was so kind, patient, and helpful in helping me get it reserved - even though it was late in the evening for him and afternoon for me in the US, he continued to promptly email me in nearly real time. The private tour for the 4 of us was absolutely phenomenal!! We tasted 2 of there reds, 2 of their whites and their fabulous Reserve wine - each was fabulous with exceptional range of varieties. Everyone considering staying in a Quinta and wanting an informative wine tour with a truly personal story should undoubtedly book with Dios Lagares!! We would 100% stay here again and will recommend it highly to everyone!

Great location, super rooms with fabulous views from balcony. Friendly, helpful host even though she spoke no English. Good continental breakfast included and excellent coffee. The vineyard visit and tasting was a highlight of our trip (although arrangements were a little confusing as the vineyard was a further few minutes up the road). Bruno, the joint owner, was so friendly and knowledgable. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful property on a working vineyards. Just 4 units. All have balconies. Beautiful , clean and had a pool up in the top near the vineyards. Breakfast included. Tip! Just be sure you make an appointment to visit the winery. I did not and there was no room. My own fault but very disappointing.

You truly need a car. As It will cost you $10 cab to and $10 from train station. They don't have any transport. Make sure they call you a cab as no uber or bolt in Pinhão. It's tough if you don't have a car. Road is dangerous to walk in and out of town and neighboring restaurant only open weekends.
