Studio Jan Steen

Fabulous location. Amazing hosts. Lovely garden patio. Spacious studio with all amenities.

Nothing

The location, the garden.

The bathroom was a bit dark

Tolle ruhige Lage, wunderschön eingerichtet

Alles super

Everything was perfect.

We loved the location--right down the street from the tram, which made it easy to get anywhere we needed to be in the city. The apartment was awesome--spacious, super comfy, had everything we needed, including a great outdoor space. Daan couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.

Nothing--it was awesome1

Great location and very pleasant stay We were 3 friends and had enough room for everyone

Property was like announced. Lots of space, nice outdoor section, confortable beds, kitchen equipped with all the necessary and excellent and helpful hôtes.

Host Daan was lovely and very accommodating, with great communication. Great location in a nice neighbourhood and 5 minutes walk to the metro stop into the city centre. Studio really nicely appointed, nice and quiet with a lovely yard, had everything we needed for our stay.

Nothing!

Bra läge, fräscht, mysigt, goa sängar, trevlig värd!

Топ апартамент с топ локация. Мястото е просторно, а градината е страхотен бонус. Локацията е повече от чудесна в централната част на града. Дан беше изключително любезен. Препоръчвам!

The studio was spacious. We had a family of 3, and the place could definitely fit more people. It was great for our toddler to run around. We didn't use the garden because it rained the whole time we were there, but it looks lovely. In addition to the studio, there's a sitting area in the hall that we used to make phone calls while our toddler was sleeping. The kitchen is well-equipped. We didn't cook, though we used the microwave and utensils when ordering takeout. The hosts, Daan and his wife, were super friendly and responsive. The location is awesome. The area boasts numerous excellent restaurants, as well as a vibrant street market within walking distance.

What an amazing stay. This place is a gem! Great location and extremely comfortable. Also the decorations and garden were a treat. Really recommended. The host was also incredibly nice and welcoming.

Loved everything.

The location can not be better, amazing house and backyard, very rare in the city!

That we had to go back home haha

La ubicacion muy buena, un espacio bohemio y relajante

Todo en orden

Modern clean apartment, perfect for a family vacation. Host was so friendly and helpful. Thanks!

Nothing

Lovely location, incredibly kind hosts, and great space overall!

Wish it had a stovetop range or oven.

The apartement is very nice and comfortable, there is a small and pleasent garden. There was a small problem of dripping water from the bathroom ceiling, Dan, the owner took care of it immediately and it was fixed (important to say that it happened due to renovations in the house next door and not a problem in the apartement itself). The location was very much to our liking, nice and quiet neighborhood with a lot of restaurants close by and the Albert Cuyp market. Good transportation to everywhere.

The price is a bit expensive but so are Amsterdam's hotels.

Great space - both indoor and outdoor. Well furnished, clean, and a great place to relax at the end of a long day. Dan was a very responsive and welcoming host and we would definitely book again on a return trip. Highly recommend!

Great Location! Perfect for 4 people. No stairs. Beautiful garden. Wonderful hosts! Comfortable and clean.

Lovely studio and garden. Great hosts. Great location. We had a wonderful stay.

It was all good. We will definitely be back.

A stay a Studio Jan Steen as a family of 4 was a great success. Dan, the owner warmly greeted us on our arrival, he was exceptionally polite and welcoming, a super host. The stylish Studio is in the perfect location to explore the city effortlessly. Walking, tramline, attractions and supermarkets a block or two away. Secure entrance, well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The garden was beautiful with thoughtfully newly planted flowering varieties for us on our arrival and a terrace that we enjoyed sitting under to play board games (provided by Dan), a coffee, or glass of wine in the evening (courtesy of Dan) The Beds are comfortable and we rested very well each night. The children greatly enjoyed the mezzanine floor and elevated sleeping position. As well as the gym equipment.

Fantastic location, east to find food, walkable market, excellent coffee

Weekend break away. Only a few minutes from shops, restaurants and tram line. Host was super. Outdoor space was fantastic.

Daan was a fantastic host! Very accommodating. The studio is extremely clean and super comfy just what we needed:-) I certainly would go back again when I am in Amsterdam and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great location in the city

The space is big and open, comfortable and clean. The garden is a great backdrop while you are in the studio, and is nice to hangout in. Great kitchen with all utensils that you need. Comfortable bathroom with a great shower. Also, the studio's location is one of the best in Amsterdam. Also, Daan is a nice host, communicative and easy going.

nothing, everything was great.

The location is perfect. The studio is spacious and well equipped. The host is very friendly, responsive and helpful.

Nothing

Fantastic location - brilliant part of Amsterdam with loads of great restaurants, walking distance from the museums and centre, but the apartment is quiet and peaceful. Helpful, friendly host.

It was quite expensive - but probably normal price for central Amsterdam... The kitchen facilities are limited (no microwave or cooker) - not the host's fault as it's apparently due to regulations, but do be aware of that if you are planning on self-catering.

great location, very clear and tidy. the garden is priceless and host Daan is super friendly. would be ideal for couples as the gallery is a bit too cozy for the big guys we were, and a cooking device is definitely missing but everything else is just perfect. beautiful, clean, comfortable and convenient. I would definitely come back!

the only one missing item was a cooking device. stove/oven/micro-wave, something :)

I had an amazing stay at this flat in Amsterdam! The location was perfect, with plenty of cafes and restaurants just a short walk away. The flat itself was quiet, cozy, and had an incredible terrace that I enjoyed every day. The proximity to many of the city's top sightseeing spots made it easy to explore and experience all that Amsterdam has to offer. I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Amsterdam. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the city!

everything was great

Spacious, quiet neighbourhood yet close to central attractions. Clean accommodation with plenty of natural sunlight and well positioned furniture. Host was exceptional with enquiries and accommodating every request and need we had.

We loved it all from the moment we saw the entry on Booking.com. This is an exceptional place to stay in a quiet residential street in the De Pijp district with a lovely garden. Nestled in a series of quiet residential streets, everything is close at hand whether its shops, restaurants and cafes, the market, a tramstop, or even just a quiet walk along the Amstel. The owners have gone out of their way to make this as 'gezellig' a place to stay as it possibly could be, and we felt completely at home. Daan is on hand if anything is ever needed, and meticulous in making sure everything is ready for arrival. We spent 4 nights here, exploring the neighbourhood and other districts, but the studio was very much part of our stay

Having to leave!

Everything ! Great location, beautiful studio with charming garden, the beds are so confortable, and Daan is so nice and welcoming ! We had an amazing time

Nothing

The place was very cozy and our hosts were great!!

Conveniently located to metro, trams and airport, and in the lovely neighbourhood of De Pijp. Away from the busy canals. Daan was super responsive and accommodative of our travel needs. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Needs a microwave!

Friendly host and flexible to our needs (arrival time and luggage storage at checkout). The studio is located in a lovely area, with a nearby Portuguese pastry shop 😋 and several shops, restaurants and market. The studio is very cosy, and so is the garden.

Pleasant, designed, comfortable, friendly. Perfect accommodation with a welcoming host and in an excellent location.

The host Daan was very communicative and checked in with us throughout our stay and had recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the area during our stay. The studio was comfortable and private with a secure shared front entrance. We loved the private courtyard and it was lovely to enjoy in nice weather.

The stairs to the lofted sleep area are a little steep and open on one side, might not be ideal for some guests and the ceiling is quite low to the loft so if you are not short, be careful.

Comfortable, clean, quiet and with private garden. Easy to reach any major location in Amsterdam.

Really friendly hosts and a great location. Quiet yet in the community which was. I’ve with lovely bird singing outside all day and a great outside area to relax. Two beds which were very comfortable.

Nothing

spacious, stylish, nice private garden, useful kitchen, nice bathroom, great lighting

the top bed has a low ceiling

Loved being in a quieter, less touristy neighbourhood. Lots of nice cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The garden was lovely. The apartment was cosy and comfortable. Our host was very kind, friendly and helpful.

Slightly awkward getting into and out of the loft beds if you’re adult height but the kids were fine with it.

The host was brilliant, I was able to whatsapp him with any questions I had / time of my arrival etc, he was very friendly and helpful. I slept in the large double bed on the ground floor and it was honestly so comfortable - the best night's sleep I've had in a long time! Great location - lots of cool restaurants but nice and quiet at night time, you have to try the cinnamon bun place round the corner (you would never have known they were vegan!?) We walked everywhere right from the flat, all very easy. We got the booking.com taxi service to and from the airport which made things easy although we did have to wait a while at the airport for our collection. All in all, a great stay. Spotlessy clean, supplies provided (like tea coffee etc), and the host was very hostpitable and helpful all round.

It's quite cosy on the mezzanine level where there are the two single beds, and the steps up are a bit dangerous as it's an open staircase with a rail only on one side. Just need to be careful going up and down is all.

This is a lovely spacious apartment - very clean and thoughtfully furnished and decorated - and the garden makes it special. The host Daan is very helpful and professional and communicates well. This is a quiet and safe area but only a short walk from shops, places to eat etc and only 20 mins walk from the centre - or take the no 4 tram. We have visited family in Amsterdam several times in the last couple of years and this location was the best.

Having no cooking facilities beyond a kettle and toaster makes life a bit more difficult if you don’t want to eat out all the time. Also no washing machine. Great for a weekend but not for a longer stay (12 nights in our case). We had expected a microwave but even that is now forbidden by the rules - understandably as the studio is one big room so there are potential fire risk issues. No dining chairs with back support, just a stool and bench. The price is high and for us the pleasure of the garden did not quite make up for the lack of cooking facilities.

Location!! Close to transit, great restaurants around. Walkable to many landmarks.

The cost is on the higher side but it was perfect for our family since it has the room for our family of four to stay together and extra room to hang out.

Comfortable stay, the host was very welcoming

Great, quiet location in a lively neighborhood "De Pijp". Spacious apartment with nice outside patio. Even though it was very hot in Amsterdam, the apartment stayed nice and cool. Daan is a very friendly host and goes above and beyond to make you feel at home.

nothing

The property is central and in a safe area, perfect for even a solo traveler woman to go. Daan, was a perfect host, extremely hospitable and kept following up if we needed anything and he was extremely understanding and accommodating with changing travel plans. Would definitely stay here again and will be recommending to all my friends. If I could give more than five stars, I would.

Beautiful space in an ideal location. Host Daan was great and made us feel very welcome. The garden was the icing on the cake!

I am highly recommend for anyone looking for a pleasant Apartment. The apartment itself is lovely and well-maintained, with everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It is in a great location that is easy to navigate and close to many amenities, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. Overall, I highly recommend this host and apartment as an excellent place to stay. My experience was nothing short of fantastic, and I am confident that others will have a similarly enjoyable time if they choose to stay here.

Location was easy reach for the city sites

The hob for cooking had been removed so only able to prepare microwave food

The hosts/owners were very friendly and helpful with everything we needed. They treated us like we were guests of their own, but offered us full privacy as well. Great location. Stylish decorating. Very sweet garden.

Lovely cosy place, quite spacious and well furnished. very close to the tram station and great location. nice a quiet at night, very comfortable!

could do with a bit more light in the bathroom.

It’s well prepared and clean. All in a unique single warm space.

All is really fine

very nice studio, walking distance from major touristic places and yet very secluded and quiet. Very well equiped, nicely decorated and lovely little courtyard. We had an absolute great time there, highly recommend.

nothing

Perfect place in Amsterdam. Best of my 8 trips to this destination. In a great neighborhood, and still close to everything. But what is underrated is how refreshed one can be when they have a private garden, in Amsterdam. High ceilings, great light from early morning. Welcoming host. Could ask for more, will come back to this place.

That we had to leave.

Studio Jan Steen was a perfect getaway for me and would have easily been a perfect getaway if I'd travelled with my young family or friends too. The fact I had full use of a private garden was the icing on the cake.

Honestly, nothing.

Daan simply is the perfect host. He made sure i felt welcome, even helped me with a little special request. The studio is totally clean, very well equiped, has a nice garden to sit outside and is in a very calm area just a bit outside of the center. But in my opinion you don't need public transport, even if its close by. In Amsterdam i always walk anything by foot - here it was around 15-20min. to the more busy area. The bed was very comfy and the room itself is extremely spacious, which you don't get much in Amsterdam. I will definitely come back!

zero!

Great studio. great host. I would come back anytime I visit

Lovely host, very comfortable condo equipped with everything you need.

amazing space, ultra comfortable with plenty of light, has all the mod cons you would expect. A great all round place too relax and unwind after a long day.

nothing it was perfect.

A pleasant, spacious and lovely place to stay. Dan and his family are lovely hosts and available for any request. Positive, artistic and open atmosphere Amazing and comfortable garden I Highly recommend

Great location. Lovely outdoor space.

No cooking facilities.
