Good location Clean welcoming
Pillows were a bit hard.
Perfect location, clean and comfortable.
Clean room, good breakfast and nice owners.
Bed was small and the upper room (4) had very low beams that made moving around uncomfortable.
Great location, extremely comfy bed, great separate seating area, fab breakfast included.
Ceilings very low on mezzanine level (to be expected but definitely resulted in a few banged heads!). Some furnishings/fittings are definitely past their best - eg worn and sagging sofa, cabinet drawers sticking, carpets in the hallway worn and dirty, light fittings in the communal areas hanging off the walls above your head, and shower seals needing replaced due to mould. Should all be quick fixes but combined it really affected our first impression.
We love Grasmere and have stayed at this venue previously. It is in a great location. The room is quirky, in a good way, with a spiral staircase leading up to a bedroom with a balcony. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice and very tasty. The gentleman in the dining area was very welcoming in the mornings, and it was a great start to each day of our holiday.
We did feel that the accommodation wasn't as clean as the last time we stayed. In the bathroom there were used cotton wool pads in the bin, which hadn't been emptied, and used cotton wool pads were also in the storage unit. The bathroom also didn't have anything to pop in the bath, such as a little bit of bath foam. I'm sure the last time we stayed this was provided. In the rush of high season perhaps the bathroom had been forgotten about.
Het ontbijt
Central location. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We were in Room 4. The roof beams make it very awkward to move around. It’s not really suitable accommodation for a taller person.
Breakfast was excellent
Our room was amazing, spotless with great attention to detail. The staff were friendly and very helpful especially helping with our very heavy luggage as we were on the third floor. Our breakfast was delicious compliments to the lovely friendly chef.

The proper tea and coffee was fantastic. The breakfast was lovely. It was the small finishing touches that made the place. It is well loved and the attention to detail and cleanliness was great. One of the nicest places that I stayed at.
My hubbie is 6ft 2 and the bedroom was an attic room. Did not suit him. But I loved it.
Great location in the heart of Grasmere
Nothing, will probably go back again.
Room 6 was Spacious and clean ,loved the split level and the outdoor balcony. great breakfast. Would definitely stay again

Great location in Grasmere. Breakfast was good with real (barista) coffee! The room was clean and comfortable
Great location. Suite spacious and very clean. Somewhere we would return to.
Great location right in the middle of Grasmere. Clean, comfortable room with a great shower. Friendly staff and easy check in process.
The only thing is that the towels could be bigger!
Breakfast was excellent Helpful advice re parking (took me a while to work out on arrival at Redbank car park, that as car park free overnight buying 9 hours midday took us to next day)
The room is just not very high, low beams, so just not comfortable Bathroom is big, but shower bit out dated, hard to get shower gel out of container Not as clean as could be, cobwebs, dust.
Room was gorgeous with a huge bathroom with separate shower and bath, although I did bang my head on the beams when I got up in the night (even though I knew they were there!)
Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely, clean rooms. Perfect location. Excellent value for money for this area of the lakes.
The accomadation was clean comfortable & in an ideal location . The breakfast was delicious. The owners were so helpful & kind & accomadated our wishes for early check in.
Quaint, clean and extremely comfortable place to stay. Very large ensuite bathroom and shower with extremely good shower pressure! Great Illy coffee both in the room and served at breakfast. Extremely nice staff. Dog lovers place ! Dogs welcomed and picture of their dog clients displayed all over the cafe is a big plus!
We are not early birds so breakfast served until a little later would have been appreciated but not a big issue and forced us to get up and and get going exploring the delightful surroundings!
Location great, friendliness of staff., good breakfast.
Bathroom needed the grouting looked at/thoroughly cleaned. TV over bath...not working not a problem, grime around it unpleasant whilst lying in Bath.
Beautiful room, very spacious. Excellent breakfast too.
The beams were low in my room (room 4) but not a major issue.

Clean and easy to access. I had get up at 430 for the Fred whitton challenge and staff were kind enough to leave breakfast in room for me including some hard boiled eggs as requested. Will stay again

Beautiful location, visually stunning, and a lovely ambience.
Spacious, comfortable and clean accommodation situated centrally within Grasmere. Easy communications, lovely staff and a fabulous breakfast!
Brilliant hosts and staff, super friendly and helpful. Came over for a few days running in the fells, Jacksons Guesthouse ideal location and set up.
Friendly and helpful
We have stayed here a few times before when it was Heidi's and now Gary and Nate have taken over the reins and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent and our room was clean and comfortable.
Everything was very good
Great location right in the middle of grasmere. Breakfast in the cafe was great.
Beautiful rooms, spacious , clean and in a great location. The rooms had everything you needed. Definitely will be choosing here again for our stays. Happy to let us have a late check out as we were doing the trail run over the weekend Thank you Nate and Gary for a perfect stay !

The accommodation was in an ideal location
nothing everything was of good standard
Location was great and staff very helpful
The bed is quite small
We had wanted to stay at this property when it was Heidi’s in our favourite Grasmere Lakes location for many years having stayed in numerous other locations in the village but did so for our 25th Anniversary recently when our friends also joined us. Our recent stay was only in the early days of the new ownership and the management are well aware that the premises do need some refreshing and improvement but are already busy with their improvement plans which was great to see. It was obvious the team were working hard and keen to please us and paid attention to our needs. The warm welcome and service of the Jacksons team was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture to check into our room we’d personally chosen with a balcony overlooking the village which in warmer weather will be a great feature to be greeted with chilled rose Prosseco and an anniversary card. Thank you. We wish Nate and Gary every success with developing their plans and look forward to seeing the improvements in due course. Jackson’s is in a prime position in Grasmere village with great future potential for the new owners. Thank you
Some areas more than others do need some refreshing by way of soft furnishings, lack of good usable storage in bedrooms and bathrooms and better use of space generally as the premises are lovely and so characterful. Overhead beams in upper floor bedroom was a problem for our friends who despite warning signs did bump their heads.
Love it here, been going for 4yrs at least twice a year

Gary and Nate so welcoming , friendly and helpful very welcoming. We loved the new coffee machine and delicious breakfast! In the room and staying in the attic room really cosy the comfy arm chairs in the room were also a bonus !
Perfect little place, home from home comfort, beautifully clean, the best location and an even better breakfast.
In a nice spot of Grasmere. Room was lovely and the hosts couldn’t do anything more.
Balcony door wouldn’t lock but had a discussion with the hosts. He said that he was aware and it’s getting fixed.
Perfectly situated ,the staff were exceptional, couldn’t do enough for you and was very clean and comfortable

Excellent central location. Very clean and comfortable with a great choice of breakfast. Packed lunches and flask filling available. A lovely place to stay.

Location central to all amenities. Lovely clean cosy spacious room with balcony terrace. Lovely friendly staff. Breakfast was superb, lots of choice.
Parking can be an issue as the village gets very busy. But we found a tiny 5 space car park to the rear of premises which was £12 for 24hrs.
Very friendly staff.
Was SUPERB! Breakfast INCREDIBLE! Staff lovely & friendly! Thank you
The location, ease of getting in and out of the lodge. Staff were lovely. Great food and drinks. Room was clean and tidy.
The pillows were not to our liking but that's just a personal preference.
Room was really nice and clean and comfy right in the middle of grasmere and breakfast was spot on
Only complaint was the room was cold the window in the bedroom and bathroom didn’t close properly so It didn’t heat up at all which is ok in summer but it was -4 when we stayed
Perfectly placed for walking and in the centre of the village.
Nothing.
We loved the breakfast!
Location was perfect and breakfast was excellent. Good quality ingredients.
A few more toiletries and milks.
Nice comfy bed, great shower & very clean. Location was great-next door to the pub!
Terrific location. Really friendly staff who made our stay extra special. Breakfasts were superb and served with a smile
Nothing to complain about at all
Location and breakfast
Even though the breakfast was amazing it was a little early, same with check out
We stayed for one night in room 6 which had a great view of the mountain from the bedroom. The location is perfect for exploring grasmere and check in was very straight forward. The breakfast was brilliant, the best we’ve had in a long time. We will 100% be booking in again!
Nothing negative
Quaint cozy
Property is always clean and very comfortable . Staff welcoming and helpful
The only problem is lack of parking at the property
The warm welcome. Breakfast was excellent 👌 and friendly atmosphere

The location was perfect for a short stay in Grasmere

The breakfast was excellent both days, and we really loved it. The standard double bedroom with street view was large as was the bathroom. Mind your head the the bedroom beams as advised on the website.
The room was a little cold due to being the winter months and a large room, but I am sure Emma or Craig would, if asked, supplied a blanket.
Everything
Lovely place and room is great did an upgrade to a king size room is lovely
Bathroom door didn’t open properly
Excellent location within 5 minutes of shops, cafes & restaurants. Really big room with big comfortable bed & plenty of hot water. Fantastic breakfast & friendly staff.
Nothing it was excellent
In a prime location.
We stayed in room 6, the suite. Room was on the cold side. Some furnishings are looking a bit tired. Shower needs regrouting as there were signs of black mould. Staff at breakfast engaged little with guests spending time chatting about their social life with each other instead. Shame it now costs 12 pounds to park the car for 24 hours. We have been to Heidi's many times over the years, but we're a little disappointed this time. There is a lot of competition available in the area.
Simply fabulous.
Lovely quirky place
Was perfect
It was in the centre of Grasmere. It had a living room downstairs with a smart TV so evenings were really cosy. It was very private and quiet as the rooms weren't right next to each other they were quite spaced out. The decor was very appealing and really thought out it made it feel homely. The shower was great! The water pressure was really fast which is always a bonus! The staff who did the cleaning and such were very nice and accommodating. The check in and check out process was very simple and very easy and hassle free. The lobby was also a great touch as it had some chairs that you could use to take your shoes on and off in case it had been raining or if you had muddy shoes from hiking. The room was very spacious and set out really good. The WiFi was very fast and good as well. It was quite soundproof as well since the rooms were quite spaced out and we walked past another room who was watching TV and you could only just hear it. Which is good as you don't feel paranoid about the volume of your TV and thinking someone is going to complain about your TV volume. The facilities were great, I didn't bring my hairdryer with me this time so I used the one provided and it was one of the best ones that I have used whilst staying away from home. Very powerful and dried my hair very quickly. The room was also very warm as it had central heating that came on quite often so you warmed up quick with it being so cold outside so that was nice and cosy.
The spiral stairs were quite slippery, which made going to the bathroom on a night a bit hard. The room also had a glazed door with a light outside and a fire escape light and they were really bright and the outside light stayed on all night as well as the green fire one so it lit up the entire room which made it hard to sleep. The bed upstairs was also rock hard which was the worst thing about the stay as I couldn't relax in the bed and I barely slept because of it. Even the pillows were hard. Breakfast was a bit of a weird situation, we went down one morning for it and one of the staff was being a bit awkward about us going down because we didn't pre book it the morning before. But it doesn't say that you have to pre book it every night for the following morning. It just says that breakfast is included from certain hours and the welcome letter just says "if you would like to pre order fill out this sheet". Which makes me think that you can either pre order so then it's ready for you or just go down and order. We still had the breakfast but instead of taking our order we had to fill out the pre order sheet, it felt very awkward and I felt a bit uncomfortable whilst having breakfast because of how awkward the staff member made it when we arrived downstairs for breakfast. We weren't really told where things were either so by the time we had gotten some butter for the toast - as none came with the order the bread was cold. I also think that the terraced balcony that came with the room should have been tiled instead of astro turf as it was raining for two days straight and by the time it stopped raining we still couldn't use it as the fake grass was squelching from all the rain and you couldn't wear shoes inside the room as all the mud and rain from the terrace would have come in as well. So we could only look at it from inside the room.
Amazing proximity to beautiful walks and views.
Low head room is totally expected and understandable, but after a while it’s nice to not worry about hitting your head anymore.
I booked only 2 weeks in advance, there wasn’t much around with it being a last minute trip and then I came across here and decided to book. I’m so glad I did! Such a cosy and lovely place, we couldn’t fault it. Location was brilliant, very clean, gorgeous room and big bathroom. The breakfast was some of the best we’re had, we ordered it the night before ready for us in the morning, lots of choice. Brilliant little cafe. We will definitely be visiting again when we come to the lakes.
Nothing!
Location
Nothing we didn’t like
Location was very central, in the middle of Grasmere. Parking could be an issue during peak holiday times, also the uncertainty about overnight parking and if it is free, or not. The property itself was fine, staff were fine and breakfast was ok too, no problems at all.
The bedroom we had was at the top of the house, the decor, plaster work could do with some tidying up and there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom.
Amazing stunning place...beautiful room...fabulous breakfast..great location!
Nothing!! - But maybe some non dairy milk sachets options with drinks tray?
Room 6 was perfect, gorgeous views and a lovely sitting room area
Nothing!
Staff were amazing. So helpful. Fabulous breakfast.
I was ment to mention but forgot. We couldn't lock our room door.
