Varenna Guest House

Everything about this property is outstanding. The location is almost next to train station and lake. You get a view from your window. The host Nadia is amazing amazing. She goes above and beyond to make your stay superb. Don’t even in passing let them know that you need something she will make it available. Never met such nice hosts. They have a luggage storage which is rare for a self checkin place. They let me store luggage before and after check in to accommodate train schedules. Enricho came separately to let me know that train is not running and where to get the bus. The objective to make stay comfortable. The property has microwave and kitchen stove and cutlery and a huge smart tv which runs almost everything. Even had Netflix don’t it was some guest or property’s but running. Had the best time.the picture is directly from my Window. Can’t upload a video but the apartment is exactly or is even better as shown in pictures. Also the property has a queen sized bed but also a folding queen size bed which was a surprise.

The room is very very cold, there was only an AC we could use to heat up the room but you can’t heat up the bathroom. Also you cannot sleep with the AC on as it’s extremely loud and not safe at all, they made a handmade plug, something weird there. Walls are so thin you constantly feel you are in the same room as your neighbours. Overall pretty expensive for what it’s worth

The location was perfect, close to railway and boats to bellagio. Etc . Also made the trip to the bernina express via train from Varenna.

The lock in the door was a bit tricky but once you had done it a couple of times it was fine.

Great location. The best part was the host Nicolo. He was very communicative and helpful when I left my engagement ring behind and he went out of his way to deliver it to me. 10/10 hospitality. Room was comfortable and had all the necessities

Nossa melhor hospedagem na Itália, amamos o local, a cidade, conforto, atenção do Nicolo, que é super gentil e cuidadoso, disponibilizou para fazermos o check in mais cedo, pelo horário que chegamos, também nos enviou várias sugestões de passeios e roteiros. Sobre o apartamento em si, Maravilhoso, localização perfeita, o ônibus vindo de Lecco para literalmente em frente a acomodação, o que facilita demais no deslocamento com as malas, além de ser bem central em relação a cidade de varenna! Apto bem completo, com tudo muito bem cuidado! Pretendemos voltar com certeza

Great location, comfortable bed . Easy to get to from train and easy access to ferry . Everything is in a really short walk and very quiet.

The bathroom is quite compact may not suit if you are a large person .

Great location for exploring Varenna. Host was really helpful over WhatsApp with instructions for check-in/out and recommendations for places to eat! It was our honeymoon and the host had kindly left us a bottle of fizz in the room which was a really thoughtful touch. We had a great stay overall!

Perfect apartment in ideal location. Felt very safe for someone traveling solo. Apartment is large with plenty of space. It's a quick 5 min walk to the ferry or the "town" with all the shops and restaraunts. Host was incredible about communication and was able to get checked in easily. It's a short two blocks or so to the "bus station" which is a dropoff right down the street so easy to roll luggage to the apartment. Host was able to arrange a taxi for me so that I didn't have to use the bus to Lecco the next day, was able to taxi directly to the train station.

The studio was perfect for our stay. The location was superb, walking distance to everything but was mostly quiet at night and was very spacious. Nicolo was very friendly and helpful and was very quick at responding to any messages. Would definitely stay here again.

The location was absolutely perfect.

No duvet available but just only a light cover which was slightly uncomfortable.

Amazing place! Recommend it!

I wished they would clean more and change towels more, I wrote to the manager and asked for Fresh towels. Since it was hot outside, we had to shower each time we came to the room and therefore used a lot of towels.

Excellent location with a view.

Loved the location, views, space and affordability. Roller blinds were great, and it felt very safe in a gated complex.

Shower didn’t drain properly and aircon could be a little bit noisy. However could easily be fixed with some glue or tape as I was able to hold down on a piece to eliminate the sound it made.

The hospitality of our host, Nicolò, truly exceeded expectations. He reached out well in advance to confirm our arrival and even arranged for an early check-in, which was greatly appreciated. Throughout our stay, he remained attentive, responsive, and eager to accommodate any request. The property itself is perfectly located — right in the heart of Varenna — and thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable stay.

Everything about this guest house is perfect. I loved my time in Varenna. The room was clean, comfortable and in a very good location. The gardner was very friendly and nice. It was fun talking with him about Varenna and the flowers he planted. Special thanks to Nicolo who escorted me to the castle, helped me find a nice restaurant to dine in and welcomed me with his warm hospitality. I had a lot of fun and would return back to Varenna for sure

It was a bit expensive for my budget but I’m glad that I’ve selected this place.

Good communication from owner . The fan was amazing along with cleanliness . The room was well furnished and good quality . There was water provided, tea and coffee . Close to a shop and the ferry . Lovely place to stay.

Only thing we didn’t like was the room fragrance diffuser - it was way too strong for my taste. We just placed it in the hallway.

I highly recommend these apartments. Beautiful, clean, cozy. Complete silence at night, even though it's in the center. The room has a refrigerator, kettle, coffee/tea. There is a shop, bus station, and a cafe that opens early next door. We will definitely come back!

Fantastic location between train station and ferry port. Comfy bed, nice shower (once you were able to squeeze through the small gap to get in!)with nice toiletries. We were met at the gate and taken to our room where everything was explained. The room overlooked a lovely stream and it was quiet at night. We were also given recommendations for where to eat. Nice electric blinds and good air conditioning. Would happily stay here again

-Possibly the number of stairs to get to the room may be an issue for some. -The small gap to get into the shower

Sunny studio apartment with large windows and view of the lake. Very convenient to both the train station and the lakeside walkway. Nicolò was very helpful and there was a useful booklet left at the apartment for how to work all of the equipment. The bed was very comfortable.

We didn't love the 10:00 a.m. checkout time.but we had the use of the secure luggage room until we were ready to head to the train station, so it was no problem.

The property was clean, well equipped and near train station, but the area was calm and safe. Flat is big with sauna and nice bath :) very nice owner, meet and great us, showed around, supported during all trip :)

Varenna is nice but was too many people and it was exhausting, it is not related with owner or flat.

Very comfortable and cosy room for our stay, had all the amenities needed. Super comfortable bed, large TV with Netflix and the location was just incredible. We had Mountain View’s and could hear the stream from our window which we loved. Couldn’t be closer to the ferry port and train station which has regular trains into Milan! Also a great little mini mart opposite which sells all kinds of snacks, breakfast, drinks and so on! The house manager Nicolo was great and super responsive on WhatsApp regarding any questions we had. Would definitely stay back here!

Nothing bad about the property itself, however it seemed that one of the apartments above were doing some sort of works so there was some banging going on in the morning but that is out of the control of the owners and did not create an unpleasant stay for us!

Fantastic location, a short walk downhill from the station. The owner met us at the station and accompanied us to the accommodation. Great service. was able to whats app him to ask questions etc.

Location. Very scenic...mountains, lake, garden, river views. Big & comfortable. Nice master shower! Sauna and jacuzzi were bonus, but we did not have time to use. Master bed was comfortable.

Cleanliness could have been better. I had to clean all the main bedroom drawers using the antibacterial wipes that I brought with me. The toilet bowl was dirty; there was a toilet brush but no cleaning supplies. The bed upstairs was not comfortable; it was too hard/firm. The furniture upstairs was too old/outdated so it made the upstairs room feel spooky.

The location was literally perfect in almost every way. There was a grocery store with a coffee shop right around the corner just steps away. The distance to the water shuttles was about a 4 minute walk, the distance to the train station was about a 7 minute walk away. The apartment itself was absolutely perfect in every way. The lighting, the facilities, the cleanliness and most importantly the staff support! Nicolo, the property manager was OUTSTANDING. He gave us so many recommendation and never hesitated to respond to our messages. Nicolo really made our trip much more successful and pleasurable just by being available and providing really great advice, suggestions, and taking care of any need we had. Really can't emphasize our satisfaction enough, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this property. You will have a WONDERFUL experience in Varenna!

I can't think of a single thing that could have been better! Everything was so well laid out, clean, and the support of the staff was just OVER the TOP. COMPLETELY EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS!

Location is great, since everything is within walking distance. The bathroom was great (but it does have a very narrow entrance to the shower, had to go in facing the wall). You can clarly hear the water running ln the canal to towards the lake if your window is open, which I found very soothing. Also, there is luggage storage for after check-out hours

The shower entrance is quite narrow, had to walk in facing the wall (sliding to the side).

All was good, location perfect, room very clean and comfortable.

Only thing that I would mention is that during our four night stay, we had a bath towel each which we had to reuse for four nights. A change after two days would have been appreciated.

The apartment was very comfortable, with charming little details that made it feel special. It’s just a short walk from the train station, ferry, and several lovely cafes. We truly enjoyed our stay. When you open the window, you can see and hear the river and even catch a glimpse of the lake — such a peaceful view. Como is a must-visit destination. Our host, Nicolo, was incredibly kind and helpful. Many thanks to him!

The property is in a great location near the train station, ferry, shopping and restaurants. The room was very spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. Nicolo greeted us at the property, spoke very good English and was a wonderful host.

A great stay in Lake Como, nice view from our room and Nico was very welcoming.

The matress needs to be replaced, it was curved and very uncomfortable

The apartment was very beautiful, and the view, location was amazing. The only downside was the lack of signs on the gate, so finding the B&B felt like an orientation game in the apartment complex. It would be helpful to have a sign at the entrance to make it easier for guests to find your B&B.

A great stay! The host was very helpful and replied quickly to our messages. Very close to the train station. Everything was clean, exactly like in the pictures. We also had the option to leave our baggages in a locker room.
