Идеально для 1 ночи в Варене: после активного дня и позднего возвращения шум уже отсутствует, а ранний рассвет и вид на озеро прекрасен. Если ваш визит, как у нас, всего на 1 ночь, то локация становится плюсом и позволяет быстро перемещаться на пароме без траты времени. На более длительное пребывание этот отель бы не рекомендовала.

Обязательно учитывать локацию: прямо под окнами осуществляется отправка паромов и как следствие постоянный шум и движения

The hotel is charming and picturesque and has the perfect location in Varenna for the train, the ferry, and town. We walked every where. Breakfast was delicious too!

We were right out the front of the ferry at Varenna which was perfect for beating the lines. It was clean, and comfortable.

The room we booked felt like it was in the actual roof of the hotel, but when you book, this isnt actually clear. So the windows were either up super high or down very low making it hard to actually look out of them. The bath had a shower head but there was no screen or shower curtain so you had to sit down in the bath to actually shower which was a bit tricky.

We stayed in the Annexe. It was amazing. We had a private balcony. The room was modern and huge and we had brilliant views. Staff at hotel were helpful for all our needs. We loved it.

Quaint accomodation, with comfortable beds and lovely view. Air-conditioning worked well. Restaurants and transport were an easy walk. Serviced daily, with lovely breakfast included. Good value for money.

Close proximity to the ferry, however having the windows closed blocked out the noise of their arrival and departure.

The location and the view from the room was unbelievable. The vibe of the room was vintage and perfectly suited in the place, very clean btw. Breakfast was good enough to start your day. The ferry stops next to the hotel, you can easily go anywhere from here. Best choice if you visiting Lake Como.

Paying big amount of money for the parking in the hotel’s parking area was strange for me, but at least the car didn’t got any damage or scratch.

Prime location, beautiful character rooms in a historic building. Staff were so helpful and even packed us breaky for the next day for an early departure. Loved every minute of our stay and would be back in a heartbeat!

The daily offerings for breakfast were great. The hotel was right by the ticket office for all the ferry rides but most of all, the family who owned the property treated us like royalty for the 10 days we were there.

Everything was great including the weather despite 3 days of rain.

Proprietatea conservă - în sensul cel mai bun - aerul de belle epoque al unei vacanțe pe malul lacului. Are o poziție privilegiată, în fața pontonului de unde poți traversa lacul spre Bellaggio (foarte aproape) dar și spre toate celelalte localități și deși camerele hotelului au vedere la lac și spre ponton și se face destul de mare aglomerație, camerele sunt extrem de bine izolate (cel puțin cele de la etajele inferioare) și efervescența de afară nu se resimte, la fel nici căldura (un sistem de aer condiționat foarte eficient). Întreg personalul a fost extrem de amabil, apreciem toate recomandările date, precum și atmosfera bună creată cu ajutorul acestuia și grija pentru fiecare dintre clienți. Mulțumim și pentru recomandarea pentru restaurantul de lângă hotel, cu un meniu minuțios gândit, deci cel puțin o masă trebuie luată acolo, nu pentru confortul de a fi lângă hotel, ci pentru experiența culinară propriu-zisă. Un avantaj - cel puțin pentru zilele extrem de toride care au caracterizat sejurul nostru - este faptul că la 2 minute de hotel există posibilitatea de acces la lac, chiar și pentru plajă (neamenajată), precum și la un local cu piscină și spațiu verde, excelent pentru refresh după vizitele ofertate în Varenna și în jur, chiar și pentru vizite punctuale în Milano (doream de mult să reajungem pentru a vedea Cina cea de taină, așa că am făcut această vizită țintită). Alegerea Varennei și a acestui hotel, pentru finalul unui sejur mai lung în Italia, spunem că a fost perla sejurului.

Fără a fi cârcotași, arareori există locații unde acestă zonă rămâne fără mici propuneri de care proprietarii să țină cont (de îmbunătățire). Însă aici, cumulul de vreme perfectă, locație perfectă, camera cu priveliște la lac și foarte bună - nr. 15), accesul facil la transportul pe lac, la piscină, la oraș, a anulat orice astfel de propunere. Pe tot sejurul nu au existat decât momente plăcute și experiențe reușite.

Le côté vintage, historique, la propreté, la proximité avec l’embarcadère, le parking, l’isolation phonique avec l’extérieur, la climatisation et par dessus tout l’accueil, le sourire et l’amabilité de la patronne !

What a wonderful experience staying in this old Italian boutique hotel!! I didn’t want to leave.. perfect location a short walk from the train station and facing the ferry terminal which we took to visit around the area. The hotel was very clean and comfortable we stayed in the attic room with such a cute window at floor lever with a beautiful view of Lake Como!! Breakfast was terrific with a great choice and hot food made to order.. the staff were so friendly and welcoming!! I would definitely return when I next visit the area.. full of history!!

Lift only goes to 3rd floor so had to walk up one flight of stairs but not a problem for us

Hyggeligt hotel med skøn værtinde, som ligger både smukt og praktisk, hvis man som os har få dage i Varenna. Ligger lige ved færgelejet.

Små færger futter rundt på søen med mange endagsturister. Det er mange mennesker ved færgen dagen igennem. Men efter kl. 20 bliver det stille.

Loved the old traditional charm of the hotel but the modern annexe our room was in. The view from our terrace was breathtaking. Location wise spot on. Very busy during the day, this didn’t bother us but at night was so peaceful. As all the crowds had gone. Staff were lovely. Will definitely be back.

This was our first trip to Varenna and we chose Hotel Olivedo based on reviews, location and value. And...Wow! It exceeded our expectations at all levels. It is an older boutique hotel right on the Lake. So, the rooms and furniture are older. But, we loved the charm. You could not ask for a better location...5 minutes from the train and right at the Ferry Terminal (though we were not disturbed by the crowds below at all). Our room on the third floor with balcony was perfect. Loved looking out over the lake as well as watching all the types of people below. Breakfast was great....But above everything else was the service we received from the family: Titi, Martina and Luigi...I won't go into the story...but they went above and beyond to assist us with receiving and diverting a package delivery that came in after we had left. We are so happy that we stayed in Varenna...and would choose nowhere else to stay in the future but the Hotel Olivedo. Gracie!

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Olivedo. A quaint place just across the from the ferry station and walking distance to the train station. The location was fantastic, views amazing and the staff were so friendly and kind. Breakfast was served every morning and they even gave us a to go bag when we had to catch an early train.

Our only complaint is the bed was a little stiff. They also had to shut the electricity off for the night(due to the company, not of fault of the hotel at all), but it was clearly communicated and outside of the staffs control. Overall we had a fabulous stay.

Really great location. At first thought it would be noisy at night but it’s not as the day trippers are gone early evening. Hotel is old fashion in appearance but that gives it such charm. Breakfast is worth inclusion and whilst a 7-8min walk to the centre of Varenna, what a pleasant walk that is and never tiring.

The location is perfect! The two women - Titi and the other are super friendly and very helpful.

The waitress' at the hotel restaurant are extremely rude, unfriendly and miserable people. Food was decent, but as with every where else in the small city, very expensive for what you get.

Nous avions une chambre mansardée, tout était conforme, rien à redire, mais à la reflexion, si nous revenons, nous prendrons un chambre "normale" car pour voir le lac , soit il faut se coucher, soit il faut monter sur une chaise.

This was a beautiful hotel in a perfect location right by the water and the ferry station. The room was spacious and had a gorgeous view, and the staff was very accomodating.

Loved the simple but high quality breakfast in the outdoor seating by the lake. Enjoyed the view and watching people stroll to and from the passarella. The staff was friendly and helpful. Best of all was the hotel's restaurant, Locanda Cavallino. Their 5 course dinner/wine pairings all chosen by the chef is not to be missed. We returned to enjoy different chef choices for a 2nd night. The gazpacho was perfetto.

Next time may choose a room not on the top floor with conventional windows. Our small windows were either near the floor or very high. But this arrangement was clear when we booked. Therefore, this is not really a complaint but a plan to choose differently next time we stay at Hotel Olivedo.

The staff, service and facilities were amazing. The room exceeded our expectations and was very comfortable and the view from the terrace of our room was just spectacular.

The train station was very busy when we arrived in Varenna and was hard to navigate through all the people on the narrow platform. We decided to get a car service back to Milan.

A very nice hotel to stay in Varenna. Lovely spacious vintage rooms overlooking the lake, comfortable beds, very good service, friendly staff, good breakfasts, family-like atmosphere. The hotel is localized next to the ferry terminal, very comfortable for trips to Bellagio, Menagio, or Como. We'll be coming back!

The staff very cooperative although my reservation was non-refundable, but due to my circumstances, they were able to rent it for me and cancel my reservation with refund and no liability.

Fantastiskt läge, alldeles vid färjorna! Underbar utsikt över sjön! Kvinnan i receptionen vet vad service o välkomnande är! Hon bar upp vårt bagage till rummen medan vi var ute på sjön o hon pratade till oss som vi var de viktigaste gästerna någonsin - har nog aldrig känt oss så välkomna någon annanstans! Fantastisk kvinna!

What a wonderful stay at Hotel Olivedo! The hospitality was warm and the old world charm made every moment special. A special thank you to Luigi, who was warm and friendly, and always willing to help whenever we needed something. After long days spent exploring on foot, we returned each evening to some of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in was exactly what we needed to recharge for the next day’s adventures. Nossa experiência no Hotel Olivedo foi excelente. Desde o primeiro contato fomos muito bem recebidos. A proprietária Laura (se não me engano) merece um destaque especial: uma pessoa extremamente atenciosa, simpática, de alto astral e sempre preocupada em proporcionar a melhor experiência aos hóspedes. O café da manhã é excelente, com muito cuidado nos detalhes, e toda a equipe foi extremamente prestativa, gentil e acolhedora. A localização também é maravilhosa e contribuiu muito para tornar nossa estadia em Varenna ainda mais especial.

Foi praticamente tudo perfeito. O único ponto de melhoria foi em relação ao nosso quarto, que ficava no último andar e possuía uma claraboia que não estava totalmente vedada. Por conta disso, entrava bastante luz pela manhã e acabávamos acordando mais cedo do que o planejado. Mas é algo simples de resolver e de não comprometeu nossa experiência.

This is a fantastic traditional family owned hotel. The hospitality extended by TC, Luigi & Martina was exceptional. We had a lovely corner room on the second floor overlooking the lake with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. In June with the weather warming up, the aircon was efficient and very welcome after a day of exploring. The breakfast terrace was lovely and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed two dinners on the outside terrace at Locanda Cavallino next to the hotel. It is a short walk from the train station and adjacent to the ferry port. We hope for a return visit.

Everything was wonderful, Tete was so very sweet, my room was comfortable, breakfast was delicious… location on the lake across from the ferry was convenient. A lift to the 3rd floor was helpful..I really enjoyed my time here. The fireworks display the night I arrived was spectacular!!
