Struttura accogliente con personale gentilissimo. Camera molto pulita e molto calda considerata la giornata freddissima. All'arrivo si trova bollitore con varie bustine di thè e caffè solubile con frollini, il che fa sempre davvero piacere... All'indomani la colazione è a buffet, ampio e soprattutto ogni cosa è freschissima!

Śniadanie było bardzo różnorodne, boczek, jajecznica, wędliny, sery i dużo słodkości. Dobra kawa, soki. Blisko port, stacja kolejowa. Bardzo fachową obsługa. W pokoju było wszystko co było nam potrzebne. Przestronnie i czysto, wygodne łóżko.. Chętnie tam jeszcze wrócę.

Fantastic location a few hundred metres from ferry terminal and easy walking distance to train station. Staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was pretty good.

Das Hotel ist an der Strasse und die Wände sind eher dünn, so dass Ohrenstöpsel notwendig sind. Unsere 3 Zimmer waren klein, auch das Bad. Die Betten waren vom Typ Feldbett und insgesamt war zwar alles einigermassen ok, der Preis dafür war aber deutlich zu hoch, was wohl der Lage nahe dem Hotspot Varenna geschuldet ist. Fazit: Wir waren eine Woche rund um den Comersee unterwegs und alle anderen Hotelzimmer waren besser und günstiger.

Close to bare a train station and ferry wharf. Breakfast was great.

My room was close to the front door so every time someone pressed the buzzer to exit I could hear it. No peep hole in door.

Breakfast was nice. Train station to walk to the hotel was about fifteen minutes. Staff was amazing.

This hotel needs renovation and decorating. Lake Como is an expensive place to stay and this is at the cheaper end. Even so, the room was poorly laid out, the shower barely adequate with a torn curtain and the plumbing mean that the tap dripped all the time and the toilet gurgled as it was not filling up properly. Add to that, bread and biscuits that were out of date and mouldy as well as air conditioning that only works when it is 25c (so guests are allowed to be v uncomfortable at 24.5c) & you get an idea why I was v unimpressed. Even the pictures were crooked and don't get me started on the TV which was not fit for purpose. Outside of the hotel, Lake Como looks v scenic and is a lovely holiday destination

This hotel has a great location. You can walk to the ferry in two minutes and the train station in five. The staff was very friendly, especially reception desk, where Mateo and Julia were very helpful to us and answering our questions and coordinating things. Convenient and clean place to stay in the area is beautiful.

Ligging in Varenna is gunstig, echter wel aan een drukke luide straat. Ontbijt is oke.

Veel mieren in de kamer, die op je spullen afkomen. Badkamer onder water door een lekkend toilet. Hierdoor is de gehele kamer vochtig en stinkend. Al met al zeer slechte hygiene en belachelijke prijs kwaliteitverhouding. Tevens vanaf 7:00 's ochtends wordt er verbouwd in het hotel, waarvan je wakker wordt (mocht je nog niet wakker zijn geworden van de drukke straat).

Great location near the train station. Sister hotel to the Park Hotel. We were able to use the Park Hotel outdoor pool, which is in a very nice park-like setting. Breakfast was excellent. We would stay here again.

The queen bed had a weird gap in the middle. Furniture a bit old, but has necessary space to store clothes.

This hotel was very basic but the price was fair. The only problem was the size of the room with three twin beds there was no room to walk around the beds were from wall to wall. Bathroom was very basic and felt that supplies were limited like towels and soap

My room had no space for suitcases and to sit on toilet, your feet had to be in the shower. Needs to be renovated. staff was friendly and location was great.

the offer of dishes was ok, but too noisy environment. You needs to work with lowern the noise.

We had a very pleasant stay overall. The hotel was welcoming and dog-friendly, which we really appreciated. The breakfast was good and the concierge was kind and helpful throughout our visit. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly — a great place to unwind. Unfortunately, due to a mix-up on our part, we left behind a pair of pants. While we understand this was our mistake, it was disappointing that no one contacted us or made an effort to return them, especially since they were likely found. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back — just with a firmer grip on our luggage next time!

No fridge in room to have cold water in the very hot weather. Very loud you could hear everything from the street outside and the other guests inside !

We stayed in the room overlooking the rear garden and it was extremely relaxing with the room clean and comfortable. The staff was really nice and the breakfast diverse and delicious.

Good location due to being both near the station (only a bus replacement service was in operation when we stayed) and a short (but steep) passageway from the lakeshore (ferry terminal). The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and everything functioned well. Staff friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was a little disappointing: tinned fruit and a concentration of cakes and pastries rather than rolls and savoury items. Breakfast only started at 8am, which seemed a bit late if you were going out for the day, and then a lot of it wasn’t actually out and ready until at least 8.10am. There was filter coffee as an alternative to a machine but it wasn’t replenished as often as it could have been. Evening restaurant was not in operation.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great, only a short walk to and from the train (easy to get to from Milan) and very central to the port to get around and close to restaurants. The breakfast had many options and the food was very delicious, just have to ask for top ups if items run out/ low.

The dinner was not great! For my last meal In Italy I was disappointed in the cannoloni.

We arrived after 8pm (train wasn’t running, so we had to take multiple buses) & front desk was closed. We called & they had upgraded us to a sister location as our room’s lock had broken; it was ~1 block away. We had a difficult time finding the entrance, but once we did, it was easy. Nice & spacious, great AC, our daughter’s bed ready to go! We were able to do the check in via what’s ap & left the city tax in the room so we didn’t even need to go back to the main hotel. Easy walk to restaurants (one even below our room) & lakeside! Would recommend!

Really good location as it’s a 5 min walk from the train station also very close to the ferry. The room is on the smaller side but that’s expected in Varenna. The gentlemen at the reception was very helpful and they were able to accommodate for late check-in. I would recommend this spot and for the location and the value.

Hi, so this is a quaint little place. Not modern at all. Still use proper keys for the doors, which I like. The location is ideal, when walking it's literally half way between the train station and ferry port. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was totally adequate, there was enough choice for me. Cereals, some cooked, continental choices, pastries and cakes, beverages and juices. The area wasn't huge, most of the tables only seat two people, but it was fine It was a good price compared to other hotels and I thought it good value for money. The bottom line for me is I would stay there again. If you are looking for a larger, more modern hotel then this may not be for you. However, if like me, you are of the mind it's just somewhere to get your head down at the end of the day. I thoroughly recommend this little hotel.

Old school hotel, large comfortable room, with usual amenities. Staff very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast had everything, and was very good. Location was perfect, very walkable. 3 min from ferry dock, 7 min to train station, 10 min to main town square. Highly recommended

Nice and close to station, lake side, and ferry terminal, nice size room although ensuite a little tight manoeuvring around bidet to toilet and shower. Plenty cupboard and desk space Bed was quite acceptable. Window with shutters for privacy, and fresh air, but also has air conditioning. Reception staff were very friendly, and helpful. Took us to our room and showed us in. Good breakfast buffet including eggs and bacon, pastries cerial, fruit and bread, but on Saturday it was poorly maintained.

Saturday breakfast buffet had fewer pastries, and the scambled eggs were gone buy 830, and last boiled eg went shortly after 915! Road outside window was noisy at times but quietened down by 1030pm.

The breakfast was superb! Front desk help was great! Room was clean, daily service good. Shower/bathroom a bit small, but I had a solo room with single bed.

Great location for a solo traveler like me. The staff was very helpful. Clean room. Guilia and Matteo were quite nice and helpful.

My bed was not comfortable. I was cold. I was told the heating couldn’t be turned on. It was very expensive for £150 per night. I wish they could give me bigger bed. The bathroom was too tiny. £150 a night was too much to pay for very basic and tiny amenities.

Balcony not a great value. Rooms without Balcony are much better, roomy, better layout.

Staff was helpful. Room without balcony is more spacious both in the room and bathroom as compared to our room with a balcony (which we rented 2 days earlier).

Room with a balcony was quite tight. Difficult to get around bed. Everything else was great. If you have mobility issues, stairs may be a problem (not for us, we were ok with the stairs.)

The people working there were very helpful. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was good. Location for us was excellent. Close from train station and ferry for our 2 night stay. Has security safe in room and doors to access rooms section is secured.

This isn’t really a dislike but more of a FYI. There are cobblestone steps -maybe14- to get to rooms that are in the back. However young lady at reception helped. Room was small but I expect that.

Clean and convenient.

Everything was good, the room was clean and it had all the necessary toiletries. It is very close to the port, like a 2 minute walk. However, the restaurant had a separate entrance, you have to go out to get to it. But, the food was very delicious, everything we tried was good.

Wonderful Stay at a Clean and Convenient Hotel! We had a great experience at Hotel Montecodeno. The property was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which made our stay very comfortable. The location couldn’t be more convenient — it’s just a short walk to both the ferry terminal and the train station, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. A special mention to Matteo, at the front desk, who was incredibly helpful and kind. We had to leave unexpectedly a day early, and he went out of his way to assist us and make the process smooth and stress-free. His professionalism and helpfulness really stood out. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area — clean, convenient, and outstanding service!

The staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was varied and generous. The single room I booked was basic but comfortable, with a kettle, wardrobe and chair/desk, TV and very clean. It was very easy to find and close to the lake and restaurants.

I think it was a little expensive for the level of comfort, however that's probably due to the popularity of the area.

Clean. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff. We checked out very early the staff prepared packed breakfast for us. The only thing I didn’t like we have to walk uphill to get to our room. I injured my leg prior to our stay there so it was hard for me to get to our room.

The staff, receptionist and front desk were all very satisfactory, as well as the location. The hotel itself, however, was terrible. Among the many problems, it was mainly the humid air and horrid odor that stood out to me. The bathroom itself was not only extremely outdated, but was designed without the user in mind. It was an extremely tight and cramped space, as I was even unable to sit straight on the toilet. There were bed bugs in all of our rooms. We were a group of 7 and all had bites across 4 rooms. The sheets smelled of bleach.
